We will be meeting at 3pm by the Merry Go Round dressed as zombies, with signs messaging:

The focus should be health care - but we can also have:
"Climate Change Legislation - Before it's Too Late"
"Nuclear Disarmament - Before it's too late"
"End the Wars - Before it's too late"

Dress: Put on white face make up, with some darkened eyes...you know zombie-like. Any type of attire.

I urge you to drop everything, and go to the theater to watch Micheal Moore's latest (I'd say greatest) movie, Sicko. This weekend is good, as it'll help drive up openning weekend #s and expand it's release. It's a heartbreaking look at the broad scope of our national disease, and a comparative look at other nations who have SOMEHOW managed to provide their citizens with FREE national health care. The inside look at how their system actually works, and how ours so obviously doesn't - and ruins people's lives instead of helping them....AAAARRRGGGGGHHHH!!! It's so sickening. It really is. We HAVE to do something. Start by seeing this movie. Then, move to Canada.

A friend of mine has spent a long time and many brain cells creating a site called Avanoo, which is a wisdom bank.

Basically, it has the capacity to aggregate data on any question posited – which, if it can attract enough users, and communities of users – could provide incredibly interesting and valuable information regarding pretty much anything.

For example, a question might ask whom you thought performed the best in the last democratic debate. You click who you thought was best, sharing your opinion, and then you can review the statistics of other users who have answered this question. You can filter the results by many variables, such as age, gender, nationality, income, race, religion, etc.

Artists might also use this site, as a means of test marketing their work. You can actually see how your work is being received by each community. A big hit with Asian Emo Rockers between the ages of 12 and 19? Book that tour to Tokyo, dude!

NY: The Greatest Show on Earth

City at Peace is one of the coolest organization in the world, singlehandedly transforming hundreds of kids lives every year.

Each year, they accept around 70 high school students per city, to create a broadway style musical drama about their lives. The result is a hundred times more powerful, moving and real than anything Ticketmaster has to offer.

Please go check out the show, support the kids, and let yourself be blown away by this show and this incredible organization.

JAQ, The Foul Mouth Poet (and my cousin) has, once again, created the hot shit. This time, in the form of a You Tube video that is part of a contest sponsered by Turbo Tax. Reminiscant of one of his Scratch & Burn sketches, he's combined rap and funny over hot beats, and it's mad catchy. Check it out, vote, and pass it on!!! On a side note - check out all these hilarious pictures from Scratch & Burn on costume designer Julie Rae Engelsman's website. If you're not familiar with the show - it was a HILARIOUS sketch comedy show my cousin's JAQ and GQ, and friends Eric Weiner and Jordan Allen-Dutton created for MTV back a few years. Unfortunately, MTV didn't realized the show was a massive hit, before cancelling it. Personally, I love reading random messages all over the internet talking about how hot my cousins are and naming it their favorite show ever.

BOO to the horrific response of this Ugandan family to their daughter's homosexuality. YAY to the U.S.A. for allowing people to seek political asylum here in cases of persecution due to sexual orientation. We should be allowing more, however - as well as spreading them out into various city's lesbian scenes, to diversify the all too incestuous, and therefore drama-plagued communities. And, perhaps, if the government goes further and lets in the many, many more that I'm sure are being persecuted and mistreated, we can start a group similar to World Relief, an organization (with a religious bent) that, amongst other things, helps refugees assimilate. Of course, our organization would probably benefit tens of thousands of gay and lesbians domestically, who are facing persecution from homophobic families and communities.

That said, perhaps we should consider seeking asylum ourselves:
"Canada is the new home of choice for many homosexuals fleeing repressive countries. Only a few other nations (Belgium, the Netherlands and Spain) can match our record of legalizing gay marriage and adoptions by gay and lesbian couples, or our strong anti-discrimination laws."

Hollywood is Burning...

Thankfully, the multi-force of local and state fire-fighter helicoptors have gotten it under control.

It's never a good feeling, though, when you look up at the sky and see an orange sun through clouds of smoke - in this case, seemingly stuck in the smog layer that LA calls it's atmosphere.

A random brush fire, in an area in the Hollywood Hills that hasn't caught fire in 50 years provided much fuel for the blaze. Perhaps homeland security should do something about severe the lack of
rainfall this spring.

In happier news: Did you know there's a Simpson's Movie coming out!?! The preview, and the 15 second cameo of my cousin GQ, were the best parts of Chris Rock's new movie, I Think I Love My Wife. Actually, they were the only good parts. Okay, Kerry Washington wasn't bad to look at, either, if you could tune out her annoying character.

The camera phone doesn't quite capture the intense thrill of Turtle racing @ Brennans Pub in Los Angeles. Seriously. Apparently, this happens every thursday, and by the size of the crowd, you can see the strong draw of the ritual! The turtle on the right won by a long shot. I got bored of it after round one, and went back into the bar to see if I was up on the pool table. The other highlight of the night was rocking out to The Mandrakes (www.themandrakes.com), a seriously overserious but seriously not bad cover band. I can't imagine that dancing front and center at a Spin Doctors concert to Two Princes could have been any more fun than when I let go of my cynicism and hit the dance floor. And at a real Spin Doctors show, they NEVER would have broke into Cure's I'll Stop The World and Melt With You. Two thumbs up, Mandrakes.

Oh my darlings,

The Times, They are A-Changin! I'm going electro-fabulous, channelling all things Frantastic your way via el interweb. I've been researching vlogging and blogging and while I was always kind of resistant, due to the fact that it seemed there were already too many blogs out there, and not enough time to keep up with them... I've realized that things have developed in a way that might just make this worth everyone's while.

Besides keeping you up to date with info on bands, parties, events, news - I'm also going to post info I've been finding about how the worldwide webworld is developing, cool sites, tools to manage the barrage of info and media, etc. Cause I know I didn't know about any of this stuff, and I'm guessing many of my friends don't either. Also, I plan on making cool/funny/interesting videos to entertain/distract/enthrall you.
