I originally bought this foundation because it was 100% natural and so good for the skin without being full of nut oils that are often seen in natural foundations. Here are the color choices and ingredients from the website:

I purchased the foundation in the color, creme, which I initially believed would be too pale, but later found it to be good. I have mixed reviews about the foundation. For a few months I loved it, but recently, I've found it to be not so great.

The colour has a good tone and is on the yellow spectrum rather than pink. It produces a really nice warm, glowing appearance.

The foundation is a little hard to blend, but with warm hands (I've found this the best method of application) it blends after some time. The consistency is good, as is the coverage. The finish is almost powdery, but I wear a moisturizer under which provides a even softer finish.

My main issue with this foundation is that despite loving my make up when leaving the house, after a few hours, the foundation seems to vanish off parts of my face and stay on others and also change to an orangy colour. The staying power is not good. This is obviously not a great look, and for this reason I only recommend the foundation for short periods of time. I haven't tried this foundation with a primer (as I haven't found a natural version that I like yet, and using a chemical version would take the point out of a natural foundation), but using a primer may help the foundation last.

At the moment, I can't get the foundation to work for me, but hopefully I'll keep trying to find ways to help the foundation work. I'd like to try 100% pure's tinted moisturizer and see if that is any better. But for now, I'll stick to the chemicals, it's a shame, but I guess we really can't live without the chemicals.

Overall, I give this foundation 6/10.

Figs and Rouge is a fantastic company selling beautiful lip balms! They claim to be:

I've always had allergies and eczema and it's really important to me to buy as natural products as I can, so I was very excited to find these beautiful Lip Balms.

They come in very sweet little tins which are 8ml in size.

This tin is pink as it's the Rambling Rose scent.

The best thing about this wonderful product is it's flexibility, it can be used for almost everything! I use it mostly as a lip balm and moisturizer for dry patches, but many use it for cuticles, dry heals etc

The smell is beautiful and very fresh and delicate, and lightly fragrances the skin for hours. The moisturizing qualities are light but still effective and I really feel this is a perfect lip balm for many, as well as being completely natural and good for the skin.

so, overall, I would recommend the figs and Rouge lip balm to everyone, it's effective, handy, cute and useful!

REVIEW: Egyptian Magic -all purpose skin cream

Egyptian magic

Egyptian Magic is a product I researched for a long time before buying. I'd heard so much about the amazing qualities of the product, but for ages felt I couldn't buy it for it's price.

But then I took the plunge and never looked back! This cream is amazing. Literally.

The cream is 100% natural and FULL of healthy ingredients as you can see below:

The uses are very varied. Here are just a few of the things I use it for:

deep conditioner for the hair
face moisturizer
acne scars
dry elbows
feet and hands
lip balm
eyelash cream
highlighter
cuticle cream

Smell and texture

The cream can't really be called a cream as it's more of a wax that turns into an oil when you rub between your hands. A little goes a long way, and it's really think and oily. The smell is nothing offensive, just very natural.

cost

The cream is a little pricey.. the price varies, but is around £29.00 for a 4oz size. The pot above is a smaller version I use on the go.

effectiveness

I find the cream to be very moisturizing and gives my face a natural glow and brightness to it. I love using it and always come back when I need some extra tlc with my skin.

conclusion

The cream is fantastic as an all purpose cream and very moisturizing and feels luxuriousness. It's great for eczema and dry skin (perfect for me) and really can be used for anything! I would recommend it to everyone out there with an Egyptian sized hole in their lives!

Today's homemade beauty treatment - Oatmeal exfoliant

Oatmeal has many amazing properties, including being an exfoliant, astringent is anti-inflammatory.

To get started, grab yourself some Oatmeal, or rolled oats (depending on where you're from!) and stand over a sink. Grab a handful of Oatmeal and close your fist. Hold your closed fist under the tap, letting a little water in so the oatmeal become slightly damp. Then squeeze it, it should release a milky water. Then with the other hand grab tiny amounts and begin rubbing it on your face until your whole face is covered in Oatmeal. If it won't easily spread then add more water. Then, as you would with any exfoliant, gently massage your face in circles, moving the oatmeal around. This is exfoliating your face. After your done, simply wash off the oatmeal with water. Make sure your stood over the sink at all times whilst completing this process, as it can be very messy.

If you fancy a face pack, try mixing oatmeal with manuka or normal honey and applying to the face.

Eczema can be caused in many different ways. Here is a collection of the most popular triggers and how to avoid them:

Stress. This is my number one trigger. My eczema flares up in any stressful time such as exams. This included both mental and physical stress. If you're ill, a large amount of stress is being placed on your body. It's important to rest your body and mind to prevent eczema flare ups.
Weather The weather can cause eczema at both extremes. The cold winter disrupts the skins protective barrier and we experience dry skin. In winter ensure your wearing a good moisturizer to protect the skin. In the summer, flare ups can also occur. These are normally due to excess sweat and blocked pores.
Contact with allergens people with eczema are often hyper sensitive to substances like chemicals and detergents. Try to reduce the contact with these allergens to avoid future flareups.
certain foods Many people with eczema have allergies too. The most common being dairy and Nut allergies. Eating too much of the certain food can trigger a reaction.

The best ways of getting rid of spots and acne

I've gone through my fair share of spots and acne, and decided it was time I collected all my knowledge into one simple list. So here are my top acne tips:

Never pick spots. Ever. Picking one spot, causes several new spots all around the area. Not only that, but it makes the one picked spot massive and red. Never pick spots.
Steam your face. Steaming your face is simply amazing for acne. Not only that, but it's free. There is no need to buy a special steaming device, simply boil a full kettle, pour it into a bowl and grab a towel. Then simply sit with your face above the bowl and a town over your head making a mini-tent to keep the steam inside. Keep steaming for at least 15 minutes, or as long as you can stay for. Then simply splash your face with cold water to close your pores.
Put lemon juice on spots. This is my number one spot-busting tip. Lemon juice takes the redness away from spots, and helps to dry them out and shrink them. Whenever I feel a spot coming or even catch it late, I always apply lemon juice, and it never fails me.
Stop worrying about spots. Spots can be caused by stress, along with many other factors. But by constantly looking in the mirror, obsessing over the spots and worrying, will not get rid of them. In your mind, simply pretend the spots are gone, spot worrying and be positive.
Don't apply harsh chemicals. There are so many spot creams and face washes, all full of chemicals that are so bad for your skin, not only that, but our faces absorb 60% of what we put. Do you really want these chemicals in your body? The only time I recommend using chemicals is if your acne is very severe, and I would always recommend going to see a dermatologist to properly sort your skin out.

With the winter months drawing in, your skin is becoming increasingly damaged by the harsh conditions. Why not give it a treat and give yourself back that moisture and glow with a :

Olive Oil Face Mask

Olive oil is an ingredient most people have in their cupboard, but did you know how good it is for your skin!? Simply take 2 teaspoons of olive oil and heat in a microwave on full heat for 30 seconds. Once heated, ensure the oil is a comfortable temperature then apply to the face. The oil can be very messy so make sure your hair is back and out of the way!

Once the oil is all over the face, gently massage it into the skin, and feel your skin thanking you. After about 5 minutes of massaging, you then have the option to either wash the oil off, or leave it on your face for extra moisturizing. Either way, your face will be left beautifully nourished and glowing.
