Snowflake Tag & a Freebie

Here are the details of my Snowflake tag project :)

For the tag, I drew a snowflake to use in my cutting machine.

I have a Digital Snowflake Freebie for you to download. It is on 4shared so you will need to wait for the timer before you get a download link.

DOWNLOAD SNOWFLAKE SVG PNG JPG FREEBIE

I have included an SVG cutting file, a black png for auto-tracing into your cutting software if you can't open SVG. Also a bunch of PNGs and coloured jpgs you can print and cut or design with.

I cut the snowflake out of cereal box board and painted with gesso, inked with a glue pad and applied glamour dust. I cut the backer out of card stock and sponged on some Iced Spruce distress ink. The image is Hat Tipping Snowman. I embellished with Stickles and a Viva Pearl Pen and MS Branch punch.

I'd like to thank DEBBIE and CAROL H for being on the Fred She Said DT. Sadly they are leaving and we will miss them and their wonderful contributions. I wish you both all the best - BIG HUGS!

Hi everyone! Sorry it's been a wee bit quiet. We have had family health issues and Dave's mom has been in and out of the hospital with heart problems ( one being a heart attack ) and the family is helping get my SIL's house ready and rearranged so that Dave's mom can move in with them. Just ALOT going on! .... and now we are into the holiday season.. busy busy!

Here is my BLOG HOP project :)

I used the Christmas Poinsettia Lantern Set. I printed the included text background, wrinkled and distress inked and shimmer sprayed with gold. The lantern and poinsettia are pre-coloured ( set comes with outlines to colour as well). I used distress ink coloured and wrinkled seam binding and my usual favourite pearl string ;).

I am continuing with a Flying Bird Series, first there were the Flying Winter Birds, then Wee Hummingbird & Petunias... well now we have:

CARD: Hollyhocks

Hi All!

In case anyone purchases from the STORE and has any difficulties downloading - Fred will be away Saturday and Sunday ( Sept 10-11 ) and will be without internet access. If you have any questions or problems, please email me and I will help you first thing Monday ;) We are heading to Toronto to go to the Zoo and see the sights ... just realized the Toronto International Film Festival ( The Tiff. ) is going on! Maybe we will go star chasing... not LOL!

Here is a card I recently made. I used a print of the WHITE coloured Hollyhocks. What I did was tint the flowers by going over them with pencils ( this one prismacolor process red and the creamy coloured flowers- a tiny bit of jasmine - you could do the same thing with copics etc.) and sponging the edges of the oval with antique linen distress ink . The background is alcohol inked glossy paper that has been embossed.

I have been trying to draw and colour some cute little birds. Need to make a few more before they are ready for prime-time ;) ... maybe some berry branches or florals to go with them. ... eventually LOL...

CARD Blue Lenten Roses

Here is another card I made a while back using Lenten Roses Pre-coloured set.

Some tips and ideas:

- to give your flowers some sparkle and dimension, try lightly outlining the flowers a clear glitter stardust pen then brush some glossy or matte gel on the flower having your brushstrokes follow the directions of the petals. Looks so ethereal and pretty! The glitter pen mixes in a bit the gel .

- for the embossed background, I painted the paper a blue craft acrylic paint and sanded the embossed edges. I also very lightly kissed distressed embossing a gold ink pad. OK be warned though, it seems easier to paint the paper before running through the cuttlebug BUT I remember having to pick a few blue bits off my embossing folder when I was done LOL!

- the lighter blue background is smudged chalks and pebbles pearlescent chalks.

CARD Red Hollyhocks

Made a card today...

This card uses the new Hollyhocks Coloured Set in RED printed on matte photo paper.
I don't know, but this muted robin's egg blue and red have to be one of my favourite colour combos. I put glaze pen over the flowers for some sheen. I have had this Martha punch around the page ( Vintage Floral) sitting on my shelve still packaged like since forever... cracked her open... I think I will like this punch VERY much.
