Yesterday, the three teens, Norashila Jaafar, Rosbazla Mohd Basri and Nursyakila Azlan, reported missing over the weekend, were reunited with their parents.

The search ended yesterday morning when Norashila called her mother to tell her she was under a bridge near Pantai Dalam here, more than 50km from her Bukit Beruntung home in Taman Bunga Raya.
Her grandfather, Othman Mohd Ali then went to get her with some friends.

Behave properly: ACP Sulaiman advising (from left) Nursyakila, Rosbazla and Norashila not to do foolish things again.

Their families had lodged police reports and also had search parties out scouring the neighbouring areas and in Puchong Perdana after they received a telephone call from a man saying that the girls were there. Rosbazla and Nursyakila were at a 24-hour cybercafe in Pantai Dalam after Norashila led the police to the building.

“My father nagged me. So, I decided to run away from home and the other two followed me,” she said when met by reporters at the Pantai police station.

Her parents Jaafar Abdullah, a driver, and trader Zaimah Othman were there to meet her. The parents and family members of Rosbazla and Nursyakila also waited for their daughters.

On Saturday night, Norashila, a student at SK Taman Bunga Raya 1, had told her parents that she was going for terawih prayers with her younger sibling.

She had taken RM50 belonging to her mother and her father’s mobile phone.

The next day, they took a KTM Komuter train from Rawang to the MidValley shopping mall, then a bus to Puchong Perdana and returned to MidValley later in the day where they met a boy, who was a friend of Nursyakila.

They then went to the cybercafe in Pantai Dalam via the KTM Komuter and spent the rest of their time there.
“We ate bread all the time. And we ran if we saw someone trying to follow us,” said Norashila.

At the police station yesterday, Zaimah, 34, was heard repeatedly asking her why she had run away.
The girls’ fathers said they did not face any problem with their daughters.

Norashila’s grandmother, Zainon Amoo, said she kept advising Jaafar and Zaimah not to pamper the child, adding that Norashila was given pocket money and almost anything she asked for.

Brickfields OCPD Asst Comm Sulaiman Junaidi cautioned parents to watch over their children at all times.
“They might think running away is an outlet to calm down. So, parents should do something.”
It is the code carried in each and every cell in our bodies. It also seems that every single one of us has a distinctly different DNA from everyone else.

So what does our DNA have to do with locating our family and tracking down our family histories? Well, you need to head over to Ancestry to find out.

Ancestry is a great big genealogy site that aims to help you meet your ancestors and learn their stories. As the UK's largest family history website, you'll have access to millions of records as well as great tree and family history site building features. You can find it at http://www.ancestry.co.uk

It’s a useful site offering a host of records including old telephone directories and access to birth, marriage and death indexes. There is just so much there.

Their latest idea is to offer you DNA ancestry, which is a service where you can find the missing pieces of your family story in your own DNA.

Discover your ancestral origins. Find out where your ancestors came from, their ethnic background, and how they have migrated throughout the world today.

DNA Ancestry helps:
• Validate existing research.
• Break through genealogical dead ends.
• Discover and connect with genetic cousins.
• Collaborate and expand your family trees.
• Learn about ancient origins.
• Review, decipher and save test results safely and conveniently online.

I wonder how popular this service will prove to be. It could cause a few upsets when people find that their forbears were not quite who they thought they were. In truth, we are mostly created from mixed stock and geneticists say that it is healthier that way.

If you are intrigued and you would like to know more, you can visit http://landing.ancestry.co.uk/offers/uk/dna.aspx and follow the links to their American site at Ancestry.com.

I find the whole thing just a bit spooky, but if you want to find out more, why not give it a go?

Until next time …
My tools are mostly for searching in the UK as well. It is also where I do most of my work.

However, if I am asked to find someone elsewhere, I would contact one of my colleagues (usually a fellow member of one of my trade groups) in that other country and they would carry out the search for me. We divide the fee earned between us. It would certainly be cheaper than paying me to go abroad to carry out a search! Also, many countries require their investigators to be registered and licensed in the country in question.

If you are looking for someone in another country you could try an International Phone Service like IX Quick at http://us.ixquick.com/eng/phone.html

Internet searches can be international too. So do give Google a try. While you are about it, you could post on one of the many missing persons sites including the free Blood-Ties forum at http://www.blood-ties.com/findforum/index.php

Then it may be worth doing a search of the many blogs being created daily at http://www.technorati.com/

I would also suggest that you take a look on the online communities like http://www.myspace.com/

If you are lucky enough to be looking someone in the United States of America then you should have no trouble finding them, as there are many services available that you can contact on the Internet and pay for with your credit card. The United States has open access to people search information, and many companies buy the data, and then sell it on to members of the public or to investigative services.

Remember, that if you cannot find the person you're looking for abroad, then perhaps you should be looking for their friends and family in this country, who may then be able to put you in touch with the person you are looking for.

Good luck!

*******************

The above article contributed by:
Giles and Louise
info@blood-ties.com

Their message:
"I run a people finding service called Blood-Ties Tracing Service, which you can find at http://www.blood-ties.com/. Some were lucky enough to get a job where they could learn the ropes from an established investigator, while others read a book or an instruction manual and then set up in business.

As you can imagine there were competent professional investigators and not a few cowboys out there as well!

As I am sure you would want to do it right, so I suggest that you take some training and then join one of the trade bodies.

At present the private investigation industry is on the edge of being regulated. In a few years all investigators will have to be licensed, which will mean proving that they are competent and that they have a clean record. I am all in favour of this. http://www.the-sia.org.uk/home

I am not here to steer you in any particular direction, but I will tell you what I did. I took a Foundation Course run by the Institute of Professional Investigators (IPI) http://www.ipi.org.uk/. I followed that with further courses in Tracing and then Casework Management. I chose to join the IPI. I also did a distance learning course with the Academy of Private Investigation. http://www.becomeadetective.com/

Some providers are offering more formal courses that end up with a recognisable qualification at the end of them. This is way it will go in time.

I read all the books I could find on the subject of tracing people. I chose to join the Society of Genealogists to learn more about the sources of information required to delve into the past. http://www.sog.org.uk/

I decided to join the Association of British Investigators (ABI) and I have felt very much at home there. They are a good source of information on how to carry on their trade. http://www.theabi.org.uk/

I also joined several closed groups on the internet that are used by investigators to pass on knowledge and to pass on work.

I am continuing my education by attending further training on the Data Protection Act and other legislation affecting our work. I keep updated on tracing techniques as well.

It should be pointed out that I operate on the fringes of a private investigators usual work. I only trace missing family and friends. They may do that, but they also carry out surveillance, interview suspects and witnesses, serve process, do debt collection and enforcement work, carry out employment checks, background checks, carry out road traffic accident reports, investigate fraud and crime within industry, advise on security, sweep for bugs and so on.

As can be imagined many investigators end up as specialists in one area, like myself I suppose. However there are many investigators who will try their hand at anything. Employers of investigators will be other investigators, solicitors, insurance companies, industry, debt collection companies and a few private individuals as well.

Some of the people writing to ask this question of me also ask if they can follow me about as I work. I always reply that it may interest me, but it would be very boring to watch! They need to get work experience with a more general firm if they will let a newcomer in.

At the most recent seminar I attended on the Data Protection Act, the solicitor who was running it said that investigation was very much in demand and if the investigator could prove that they were operating lawfully there would be masses of work from wealthy City firms. The problem of course is that if information is gathered unlawfully there could be a very embarrassing court case brought by the Information Commissioner a few years down the line. http://www.informationcommissioner.gov.uk/

So there you have it. By all means go out and become an investigator if you want to. Just make sure that you are honourable, law abiding, trustworthy and well insured.

Good luck!

The above article contributed by:
Giles and Louise
info@blood-ties.com

Their message:
"I run a people finding service called Blood-Ties Tracing Service, which you can find at http://www.blood-ties.com/. She had never met her father, but as she had grown up she thought more and more about him. She wondered where he lived and whether he had a new family. She wondered what he was like and used to dream of having a chance to get to know him.

She did not know much about him and she felt uncomfortable about pressing her mother for information as she realised that it would be a sensitive subject for her. After trying a few ways of locating her father on her own, she asked me to find him for her.

I was pleased to help and in a couple of weeks I had located her father’s current address in Liverpool. Joanne was surprised when I told her that I had found him and she asked for time to think about what to do next.

It was just approaching Christmas and Joanne was able to spend time at home with her mother. The two of them had a good heart to heart and Joanne was able to ask all the questions she had about her father and how her parents had met and later split up.

In the New Year Joanne and I talked about her plans and she said that she no longer wanted to get in touch with her father. She said that she had discovered that the relationship she was looking for was with her mother and she was very happy now that they were talking openly at last.

********************

What is to be learned here?

My guess is that sometimes what we are really looking for is often closer to home than we first thought!

******************

I hope that this information is useful and that it helps you to find the person you are looking for.

The above article was provided by:
Giles and Louise from http://www.blood-ties.com/
E-mail: info@blood-ties.com

© 2009 Copyright http://free-and-instant-people-search.blogspot.com
FAQ on Background Checks

I am often asked about carrying out do-it-yourself background checks on people. This is usually where suspicions have been aroused about a lover or a marriage partner.

While this is not my speciality as I am more used to searching for friends and family I may be able to give a little advice.

Here is my list:

1. If you suspect that something is wrong that could be a hint to you to cut your losses and get out of the relationship.

2. If you think he or she is lying or is already married or something you could ask them straight out, ‘Are you lying to me? Are you having an affair?’ If the relationship is a good one it will survive a bit of openness and honesty.

3. Most investigators are good at their job because they are quite cynical. They always look at all the options and check for evidence of ill doing. If you have been starting a new relationship you will have been wearing rose-tinted glasses at the beginning and are only now becoming suspicious.

4. If you have suspicions you want to check out, make a list of all he or she has told you and write down why you feel that it doesn’t add up. Apply a bit of cynicism to guess where the truth may lie and then think about how you might check out their story.

5. When investigators do background checks they:
a) visit the address
b) talk to neighbours
c) contact previous employers
d) If they have that kind of job, check out their registration
e) check past qualifications
f) check the electoral register to find out where he has lived and who he has lived with
g) check for his birth certificate and any marriage certificate
h) where there is enough money sometimes a paper clippings service is used where there is suspicion of a court case or prison sentence
i) check for signs of financial trouble – County Court Judgements and bankruptcies
j) check the Land Registry if they own their own house

6. They may choose to follow the subject if there is any suspicion of dishonesty, an affair or a secret life. Surveillance is a skilled activity with a real chance of being caught. It is also very easy to lose the person you are following.

I think you have to decide what the right approach is for you. It’s your moral choice I am afraid. While you can carry out all the above yourself or with a friend, if he or she catches you following them or going through their things it could turn unpleasant!

This kind of task is a regular one for many Private Investigators. It is also sometimes carried out on new boyfriends / girlfriends as a precautionary measure. You will often find this service advertised in the USA. A similar kind of background check is often carried out on new employees, but in that instance they are giving their consent to the checks being carried out.

The above article was provided by:
Giles and Louise from http://www.blood-ties.com/
E-mail: info@blood-ties.com

© 2009 Copyright http://free-and-instant-people-search.blogspot.com
Searching for Divorce Records.

If you have access to the Internet, surely you have lots of opportunities for accessing hundreds of thousands, perhaps even millions of public records.

These could include locating important and sometimes sensitive information regarding marriage or divorce records, property deeds, unclaimed financial assets as well as criminal records.

You could have access to these types of information at a number of free, or paid public record search sites on the Internet.

Generally most public record sites are for free, however there are those who charge a relatively reasonable fee, usually a one-time yearly charge.

If you are searching for divorce record, listings of free divorce records can now be obtained through the Internet. Divorce records are not something that we must be proud of. This is a very private matter, but married individuals who can no longer stand the idea of living with their spouse’s everyday under the same roof have to sort to divorce, so there was a need to keep a data of these records.

However, these free listings can only provide limited information as compared to divorce records that are for a minimal fee.

Other ways to obtain such records are through the numerous government offices. However, it can really cause too much nuisance if you should go through this process of obtaining the data that you need.

Generally, divorce records are usually filed in the state where the divorce took place. Each record may contain:

1. Name of the spouse
2. Age of both parties
3. Date and place where the marriage took place
4. Name of all the children and date of birth of each child
5. Conjugal properties
6. Date the divorce took place; and
7. Reason for the divorce

Other information that may also be included:

1. Credit card numbers,
2. Tax returns; and
3. Alimonies paid if applicable.

In conclusion, I believed that the best way to obtain divorce records are through Internet (online) and pay for a minimal fee. It is less of a trouble and provides you of all the relevant data you will need.

© 2009 Copyright http://free-and-instant-people-search.blogspot.com
People Search at Facebook

Thanks for visiting this page. The following article will shows you how to search people for free using one of the most popular social networking. Yes, it’s a Facebook. Keep on reading.
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 182px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi5YxH9x-Shwh6gepoP-tx0RhUUFyXVkUkNo9t2ZAoZEAYJwOMQ05uTyKzUyiyK15DxkGWA-azHG8PbyX_U19z3G9pYmG89qiLLlsqqB866O88SXtoEAR13iCMiPbQy7f2SwThLM1-lcaug/s320/fb.bmp" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5317036795261204642" />
Facebook is a social networking service that lets you connect with friends, co-workers, and others who share similar interests or who have common backgrounds.

Join Facebook groups to meet people like you, or browse the profiles to find new friends. Facebook's classmates and co-worker search is good for finding friends too.

Facebook has created some simple ways to find your friends using your e-mail address, or the friend list from your AOL instant messaging account. You can also search by name, or pull up listings based on your computer's address book.

Since everyone needs an e-mail address to sign up with Facebook, giving Facebook authorization to use your existing address books should make it possible to track down everyone with whom you communicate.

Digging through a person’s profile gives ability to form a social portrait of a person or community. Due to the growth of Facebook members, you, actually, may use it as a people finder service - search for a missing person in hope it has it’s own Facebook. Will it be successful or not - depends on your luck.

Sign up today for free and instant people search (click at Find Friends)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Email Search By Name, Reverse Email Lookups

© 2009 Copyright http://free-and-instant-people-search.blogspot.com
Adoption Searches

Are you an adopted person looking for birth family or are you looking for someone who was adopted?

This is a complicated topic that requires careful study. I hope that these notes are helpful.

Sources:
You can contact services that help people who have been adopted and their families. Here are a few:

1. General Record Office at http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/adoptions/
2. National Organisation for Counselling Adoptees and Parents (NORCAP) at http://www.norcap.org.uk/
3. Adoption, Search & Reunion at http://www.adoptionsearchreunion.org.uk/
4. British Association for Adoption and Fostering at http://www.baaf.org.uk/
5. The Post Adoption Centre at http://www.postadoptioncentre.org.uk/
6. In Scotland, try Birthlink at http://www.birthlink.org.uk/
7. After Adoption (Post Adoption Services) http://www.afteradoption.org.uk/
8. Transnational and Transracial Adoption Group http://www.ttag.org.uk/
9. Barnado’s http://www.barnardos.org.uk/

Finding an Agency to Help You:
Try typing your local area into the search panel in http://www.adoptionsearchreunion.org.uk/help/database/ and you will see that your local authority will offer a Post Adoption Service. In addition several national bodies and charities can be contacted as well.

Please note:
As of 30th December 2005 all agencies providing intermediary services must be registered with the Commission for Social Care Inspection (CSCI). These agencies employ qualified social workers and therapists to help you deal with the emotions aroused in the process of searching for your family. Tracing agencies like Blood-Ties are not registered or qualified to carry out such work, so you must first approach the above organisations.

Adoption Contact Registers:
You may wish to consider using Adoption Contact Registers to help you get in touch with your family. A register is held by the General Register Office at http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/adoptions/adoptioncontactregister/index.asp".

The Adoption Contact Register exists to put adopted people and their birth relatives in touch with each other if that is what they both wish. There is a similar register held at NORCAP. These registers have helped many families to find each other again.

There is a charge for both these services, but it could prove worthwhile. There are other commercial registers available as well. Do feel free to use the Blood-Ties Forum, which has its own contact page at http://www.blood-ties.com/findforum/index.php

Access to Birth / Adoption Records:
At 18, an adopted person can apply for a certificate of their original birth registration, via the Access to Birth Records service at the General Register Office.

If you were adopted through a court in England or Wales and are aged 18 years or over you can apply for a certificate of your original birth entry and try to seek out more information about your origins.

The law and the rules vary depending on when the adoption took place:

If you were adopted before 12 November 1975:
You are required to attend an informal meeting with an approved adoption advisor for confidential guidance, either with your local Social Services, at the General Register Office or, under certain circumstances, at the agency that handled your adoption.

You can also choose to see an adoption worker at another local authority. The General Register Office will forward your original birth information to your chosen approved adoption advisor.

Before 12 November 1975, many parents were led to believe that the adopted child would never be able to find out their original name or the names of their parents. These arrangements were made in good faith.

However, changes in legislation allowed adopted people to discover their original details. It is important that adopted people understand what this might mean, not only for themselves but also for others.

If you were adopted between 12 November 1975 and 30 December 2005, are 18 years old or over:
You have a choice whether you would like to see an approved adoption advisor or have the information sent to you direct. You may find it helpful to see an adoption advisor, as they may be able to offer practical advice and guidance as well as discussing any concerns or issues important to you.

If you choose not to see an adoption advisor:
The material sent to you is the same information as that given to adoption advisors for people adopted prior to 12 November 1975.

You will be sent information about your birth name, birth parent(s) name(s) and your district of birth with which to apply for a certified copy of your original birth entry.
If an adoption agency or local authority was involved in your adoption you will receive this information. If not, then you will receive details necessary to make an application to the court for the name of the adoption agency or local authority.

Access to Birth / Adoption Records for Birth Relatives:
From 30 December 2005 changes to the law will enable birth relatives to also apply for access to an adopted person’s adoption registration. However Access to Adoption Records for birth relatives must be done via Intermediary Agencies.
From 30 December 2005 a birth relative wishing to make contact with an adopted person can apply to an approved Intermediary Agency. The Intermediary Agency will help facilitate contact between birth relatives and adopted people.

The Intermediary Agency can apply to the General Register Office for the name of the organisation involved in the adoption or if that is not available the name of the court granting the adoption.

In addition the Intermediary Agency can apply to the General Register Office for information from the Adoption Contact Register and post-adoptive information which will enable an application to be made for an adoption certificate. All this information can be used by the Intermediary Agency to decide whether to proceed but this will be subject to the views of the adopted person.

Intermediary Agencies:
Useful websites that will give more information include:

1. Every Child Matters http://www.everychildmatters.gov.uk/adoption/
2. Commission for Social Care Inspection http://www.csci.org.uk/registeredservicesdirectory/

Dealing with the emotions brought up by the search:
As may be imagined, the process of making these kinds of searches will bring back all the emotions connected with the adoption in the first place. Moods can vary from black depression to elation. You need to choose a time when things are stable in your life before commencing a search. It is wise to get the support of a good friend or family member who will be willing to offer you support during this process and help by listening to you and by helping keep your feet on the ground.

It is for these reasons that you will be offered counselling when you ask for access to your adoption record. I would suggest that it is a good idea to accept the offer.

One thing to remember is that it is your life and your search. Of course it up to you who you choose to trust and if you don’t feel comfortable with the person offered to you, it is your right to go elsewhere.

One thing is for sure. This search and the reunions that will hopefully follow have been described as an emotional roller coaster and you will need all the support you can get.

Support from other people in a similar position:
Many people choose to join BAAF or NORCAP in order to gain the support of other people who really know what they are experiencing. They might be an ex-partner you want to track down, an old friend or family member you want to add to your Christmas card list, or even an annoying person who keeps prank calling you every night.

No matter why you want that address, you can search and find people by phone number if you know where to look - ReversePhoneDetective.com.

Lots of Promises - Few Results

There are lots of services that offer phone number lookups. With a reverse phone number lookup, you can easily find anyone by their phone number. All you do is enter the area code and the seven digit number, the service runs through its database in a matter of seconds looking for an exact match, then what that match is found the results are displayed on the screen for you.

Those results should include the person's name and address associated with the phone number.

That's the good news. The bad news is that if you rely only on the free reverse lookup services, then you may not be able to find what you're looking for. The reason is that if the number comes from a cell phone or an unlisted caller, then you won't get any results from your search.

Why? Because these numbers are not included in the databases used by the free services, since those numbers are not part published the same way your landline number is.

Reverse Phone Detective - Results Guaranteed!

If you want to find people by phone number and you want guaranteed results, you'll need to use ReversePhoneDetective.com. With this service, you can find information using any type of phone number, including cell phone numbers.

The ReversePhoneDetective.com database has more records available than virtually any other service around, tipping the scales of running a successful search heavily in your favor.

That's better news, but the best news is that you don't even need a recent number. If you haven't called the person in several years it doesn't matter. As a registered member of Reverse Phone Detective, you'll be able to use expanded people search tools in order to track down the person's most recent address.

It doesn't matter if the last time you called that number was five or ten years ago - with the Reverse Phone Detective databases you'll be able to find people by phone numbers consistently.

Membership includes other value-added services, such as access to other background information, expanded databases, and even family members. And membership comes with a 100% no-bull guarantee. No results, no charge - it's no risk - you simply can't lose!

I hope you gather the desired information from this article, check out other articles to be surprised even more.

p/s: just key-in any phone number on the above search box and click search!

© 2009 Copyright http://free-and-instant-people-search.blogspot.com
Signs of a Cheating Spouse

When you think your spouse is cheating on you, it's about 98% chances that you are being cheated on. If you truly believe your spouse is having an affair or cheating on you, then most likely it's true.

You need a good private investigator to investigate for you. Where can you find out them? Absolutely you’ll need free and instant people search link/box.

It’s a wise decision to confirm whether your spouse is really having an affair and with whom.

Before you hire a private investigator, at least you should know what the basic signs of a cheating spouse are. Here are some of the sign:

1) When they spend less and less time with you and your children. This is the biggest sign of a cheating spouse or at least a spouse who has absolutely no interest in continuing their family relationship to make it stronger.

2) Another favorite sign is condoms in the car. Yes, people are that stupid especially when one or both spouses are fixed.

3) When your spouse does not tell you where they were for the past 4 hours after leaving work (on an ongoing basis). This is very common among cheaters. They tell you that it's none of your business.

4) He/she goes to the store for groceries and comes home 5 hours later.

5) He/she insists the child seat, toys, etc., are kept out of his/her car.

6) His clothes smell of an unfamiliar perfume or after-shave. You see lipstick on your husband's shirt.

7) Lack of affection shown by your spouse. This is not necessarily a sure sign of a cheater, but if all of sudden, after a healthy love life with your spouse all the passion stops, then you must wonder if there is another person.

Who Is Your Spouse Having An Affair With?

1) An old flame from before they were married.

2) A co-worker or supervisor/boss - this is the most common person a spouse would be having an affair with according to popular investigation results around the world.

3) Somebody they met on the internet - this is a growing trend with the advancements in technology.

4) Someone they met at the gym where they work out - it could be someone they work out with or even their personal trainer.

Use free and instant people search to find a licensed private investigator to follow your spouse. Usually they will charge you fees about $500 per night to follow your spouse from work or when they go out at night by themselves or with friends.

That’s it for today. Let’s pray you won’t find your spouse showing any of these cheating signs or actually having an affair.

Below is a free and instant people search links for you to search for a licensed private investigator:
1.
National Investigative Database Searches-
Search for Anyone by their Social Security Number or by Name and Last Known Address

2. California Private Investigator California Investigation Services - J R Investigations specializes in cheating spouse and family law related investigation including surveillance, background checks, locating missing persons and finding birth parents

© 2009 Copyright http://free-and-instant-people-search.blogspot.com
PeopleFinders- Your Free and Instant People Search

PeopleFinders- your free and instant people search

The Web's largest, most useful People Search lets you find old friends, locate former classmates, and create your own reunions - with a mouse click.

PeopleFinders' massive people search database retrieves billions of hard-to-find public records, cross-checked for accuracy, hard-to-find addresses, missing phone numbers and lost email for the person you are searching for. Always free to search

House Sitter or House Predator? Who is Really Looking After Your Home?

Background Checks for House Sitters
There is a stranger in your home sitting on your couch. He is eating your left over lasagna and watching your television. A few moments go by and he goes outside to play with your dogs. Eventually he packs up his things and leaves, as if he was never there.

Sounds disturbing, right? You have nothing to worry about, it’s just Bill, the house sitter you hired to watch your home while you are on vacation. Bill is harmless and lives down the street from you. In fact, Bill has watched your house several times before. I guess it doesn’t matter to you that Bill is a registered sex offender and that you have children living with you.

You probably also knew that he has done time for breaking and entering in Wyoming. Wait, you are unaware of Bill’s criminal past? This situation doesn’t seem so safe now, does it?

Strangely, the criminal background of a house sitter is rarely checked by homeowners when they select someone to watch their home while they are away. More often than not, house sitters are neighbors or come recommended by friends. Besides, what type of damage could a house sitter really do? Surprisingly, more than you think

By giving an individual access to your home while you are away, you are entrusting him or her with your possessions and more importantly, the safety of your family. House sitters know the locations of your spare keys, your schedule and where you keep your valuables. Even worse, a house sitter knows which bedrooms belong to your children.

So what can be done to ensure you are getting a responsible and safe house sitter? People Search News recommends the following three steps:

Steps One: Always check references. Inquire about the sitter’s personality, work ethic, etc

Step Two: Go with your gut. If a person seems dangerous, he or she probably is.

Step Three: Make sure to screen your potential house sitter through an online background check.

It has been said many times that the best predictor of future behavior is past behavior. Therefore, there is no excuse for not being informed on a house sitter’s potential shady background. Once you have received the results from the background check, you then can make an informed decision on whether this individual is the right choice to look after your home.

Avoid Putting a Child at Risk by Performing Parental Background Checks

We all have slept over at a friend's house before. The "sleep over" was likely the most fun you had as a child or teenager. However, not all sleepovers end up with fond memories – to the contrary, innocent child’s' lives and safety are endangered. Consider the following example:

It seemed so innocent . . . Billy wanted to sleep over at his new friend Tommy's house. Before you allowed him to spend the night with Tommy’s family, you decided that you wanted to call Tommy's parents and see if they sound like good people. After a few minutes speaking with Tommy's dad, you gave Billy the go-ahead to spend the night at Tommy's house.

The next day, you ask Billy how things went and he tells you that everyone had a great time and he got to shoot his first gun. Turns out, Tommy's dad has been busted on weapons charges several times, a fact which you were unaware of because you didn’t run a background check on Tommy's dad.

If you think that the above tale seems unlikely, you are probably right. However, would you risk taking a chance of letting what happened to Billy happen to your child? Probably not.

With the help of PeopleFinders.com, parents do not hesitate to look up a new teacher or even run a background check on the school bus driver; however, parents never seem to inquire into the backgrounds of the parents’ of their child's friends.

Surprisingly, even with the increasing ease of use and lowered costs of these sites, most parents don't even consider looking into the possibly that another parent might be dangerous or could harm their children.

"How could a parent be dangerous to children when he or she knows what it is like to love and care for them?" is the reasoning many parents use to justify automatically trusting other parents. However, just because someone is a parent does not necessarily mean that a person can't:

*Have a criminal record
*Be a registered sex offender or pedophile
*Have desire or predisposition to commit crime.

The famous expression that "those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it" perfectly illustrates the process of performing a background check on the parents of your child's friends. A parent just as likely could have been convicted of rape, domestic violence, theft or virtually any other crime as anyone else.

Therefore, being a parent doesn’t omit someone from the type of scrutiny that anyone who is around children typically receives. Most teachers, counselors and now even youth coaches, have to undergo background checks before they can spend time with children.

Strangely, the people who often spend the most time with children, parents, are rarely the subject of a background check report.

So as a parent, how can you ensure your child's safety if he or she is sleeping over at a friend's house? Performing a background check on the parents of your child's friend can give you a window into their past behavior and allow you to consider the entire picture when deciding if your child can spend the night at a particular friend's house.

Though you can’t control the actions of others or predict the future, you can benefit from the past and avoid putting your child in a dangerous situation. Once an individual’s criminal past is discovered, it is then up to you to decide if he or she should be allowed around your child.

In light of the above, before you give the go-ahead to allow your child to be in the company of strangers overnight, wouldn't you like to know that you have done all that you can to protect your child from harm?

PeopleFinders.com urges parents to perform background checks on fellow parents who will be in contact with their children. Though you can’t predict the future, you also can't ignore the past.

© 2008 Copyright http://free-and-instant-people-search.blogspot.com
Who's Searching for You?

Dear Readers,

Another source for free and instant people search is at Reunion.com.

Reunion.com is a social network service founded in 2002 by Jeffrey Tinsley.
