Entrecard and Advertising

Entrecard as an advertising tool is a great thing. I know that there are a lot of people that just drop and go without looking at the site. I just want to say that I do look at it as it loads up. If it has not been for Entrecard I would not have found the great many sites that I have seen. I would not have known that they even existed. So in that respect Entrecard is great. But I do wonder about something. Maybe someone in authority about Entrecard can answer for me. If you a number that it cost for someone to advertise on your site was say 35 and then you go back the next day and it decreased in price. I am just wanting to know what would cause that. Is it something that I am doing etc? I am not an expert on entrecard so I would appreciate any feedback on this. I just know that I have gotten more traffic to my site Free Advertising and Links from it and so that is a good thing. I'm sounding like Martha Stewart now. You know how she is always saying And Thats a Good Thing. I would also like to encourage you to leave a recommendation about my site and I will return the favor.

Louisiana Ghost Story

I thought that we would enjoy some humor

(This happened about a month ago just outside a little town in the bayou country of Louisiana, & while it sounds like an Alfred Hitchcock tale, it's real.)

This guy was on the side of the road hitchhiking on a real dark night in the middle of a thunderstorm. Time passed slowly, and no cars went by. It was raining so hard he could hardly see his hand in front of his face.

Suddenly he saw a car moving, slowly approaching and appearing ghostlike in the rain. It slowly crept toward him and stopped. Wanting a ride real bad, the guy jumped in the car and closed the door, only then did he realize that there was nobody behind the wheel.

The car slowly started moving and the guy was terrified, too scared to think of jumping out and running. The guy saw that the car was slowly approaching a sharp curve; still too scared to jump out, he started to pray and beg for his life. & he would surely drown, when just before the curve, a hand appeared thru the driver's window and turned the steering wheel, guiding the car safely around the bend.

Paralyzed with fear, the guy watched the hand reappear every time they reached a curve. Finally the guy, scared to near death, had all he could take and jumped out of the car and ran to town. Wet and in shock, he went into a bar and voice quavering, ordered two shots of whiskey, then told everybody about his supernatural experience.
A silence enveloped them, and everybody got goose bumps when they realized the guy was telling the truth and not just some drunk.

About half an hour later two guys walked into the bar and one says to the other, "Look, Boudreaux, dere's dat idiot dat rode in our car when we was pushin' it in the rain."

Entrecard- I Think I Have It Figured Out

I have been trying to figure out how your advertising price go down instead of up. It is like this if you are not dropping alot of cards regularly then your ad price go down.When I drop a lot of cards my price goes up but when I don't my price goes down. I have also noticed that the price is not the same on the dashboard as it is in the category site. If I am wrong then I am more than willing to admit it. Has anyone else lost points as it were. All in all it is still a great way to see other blogs that you normally wouldn't. It is like a penalization if you don't drop consistently. Any viewpoints on this. I would appreciate hearing them.

CALL ME A CHEAPSKATE -- BUT----

When I first started this blog I didn't know up from down about internet marketing and so I started to look around and check things out. I have pr 3 and to tell you the truth that is surprising to me. Any way as I started to look there was all kinds of things to buy, join this or that.

As I was saying I am a cheapskate and I did not buy anything to promote my site. I have worked hard to get it into the ranking that I have. I am sorry I have been neglecting this site in deference to my other sites and intrecard.

What I have done is write some articles and submitted them to ezine article, or goarticles, any place that you can submit articles to is good. What you want to do is get your name out there. Let people know that you are here and I submitted my site to yahoo. You can also submit your site to search engines.

The first time I did a search on Free Advertising and Links and there it was in black and white, I was excited I must be doing something right.

I did join Bloggeries, Bloglog and Blogcatalog but Blog Catalog rejected this site.
Joining Forums is also a good way of letting people know that you exist.

Zimbio is another way of getting your site promoted.

BLOG REVIEWS - - BITING THE BULLET

I have decided to bite the bullet and start doing blog reviews. I have a site that talks about blog monetization and I have yet to do it myself. My blog is worth over 6000.00 and I have not made anything from it.

My problem is that there are multiple places to blog for such as Pay Per Post. I would like feedback on which is the best one to go with. The reason I haven't done it before is because I wasn't sure how to go about writing reviews.

I have been looking around and noticing how other people write reviews and I'm thinking I can do that.

I was going to write a post about if a blog can be worth money and have a pr 3 rank and not be making any money. Yeah buddy your sure can your looking at it. I have concentrated on building it up and now I think it i time to start making money from it.

How To Copy and Paste

Most people know how to copy and paste but when I first started out I was computer illiterate and I didn't know how to copy from one site and paste on another. I looked around and couldn't find anything that told me how to do it.

Here is how to copy and paste:
1. Go to site where you want copy a banner or picture from.
2. Click where it says get code.
3. Highlight the code and go to the top of your browser there is a edit button
4. Click it and scroll to copy and click on copy
5. Minimize the site you are on and pull up the site you want to paste to
6. If you have a blogspot blog go to layout and click on page elements
7. After you click on page elements you will see add html code
8. Click on html code and open it and when the box opens click on the inside of the box
9. Then you go to the edit button and click on paste and it will paste the code inside the box
10. Then you save it

An Apology- Be Careful Who You Let Advertise On Your Site

I used to have Adbrite on my site and it I specifically stated no adult or to put it plainly no dirty pictures on my site. I went to my site to check on things and found pictures that I was very upset to find there. I deleted it from my site and I will not have adbrite on my site again. If anyone was offended by it I am sorry as I was unaware of it. I have noticed it on other sites as well. I'm sure that they are unaware of it also. I think it is not very professional when a person allows you to advertise on their site and something like that is put on their site. I am just so upset about it. I just wanted to give people a warning to check their adbrite advertising especially at night.

You Want Traffic

This post is for the entrecard users. I have noticed when I try reciprocate a drop I can't find the widget. I have also noticed that some people have it where you have to click on the title of the post to be able to get to the widget. If you want people to drop a card on you you have to put it where they can find it.

Powerdropping Is The Way To Go

I finally downloaded firefox and I ran across Powerdropping and decided to give it a try. I think it is great that you can get all your dropping done fast. That way you can spend more time in commenting, posting, working on your site. Whatever it is that you want to do you have more time to do it. Especially if you have more than one site. I am talking to the ones that have Entrecard on their sites. I love Firefox and Powerdropping together it is amazing.
All the widgets are above the fold and they are faster to load up so you don't have to sit and wait for it to load up. I have noticed that some sites put their widgets on the bottom of the page in an attempt to get readers to look at their sites. Which I think is unnecessary because I always look at a site that I am dropping on and if it is not interesting it does not matter where you put your widget.
But this is just my own personal opinion

Entrecard, Adsense, Opinions and Link Exchanges

I have been wondering if having adsense on your site is worth having. Do you click on adsense when you are dropping cards through Entrecard? I personally don't even look at the adsense between dropping, reading and commenting and it just gets in the way. Is it worth it because I don't think that anyone clicks on mine either because I haven't made anything from it?
I would like to hear your opinions on this or maybe comment on what you would like to see on my site that would make you stop and read and leave comments.
I am also interested in link exchanges but I would like to learn how to link a code to a widget. If anyone can tell me how to do that I would appreciate it very much.
I also will give 200 Entrecard credits if someone can make me a widget appropriate for this site.

Todays's contextual ad tools are actually intelligent, ads are matched by subject to the words and phrases you use on your blog. Generally the results are ads better suited to your readers interest which make them more apt to click on them.
The first thing to do is to determine if your blog is meant for an advertising campaign. Many blogs can benefit from ads. There are a few things to consider first before starting.
1. Does your blog have a design that's ready for ads?
2. Does your blog software support the advertising system you've chosen?
3. Will advertising earn you money?
4. Will your audience put up with ads?

1. Chasing Opportunities Instead of Passion:
Once you identify your interest and can build a business around them you need passion and excitement to carry you through when things are tough. It takes time and hard work to make a success and so you need that passion and spark to enable you to continue.

2. Developing A Product Before Finding An Audience:
Even though you might have an interest you need to determine if you are the only one with that interest. Find out what your passion is and see if others share it. Marketing is like building a personal relationship. It takes time , effort, and commitment to build trust, rapport and a lasting friendship. It is not a transaction as most marketers believe. If you have built the relationship you will be more apt to be successful.
example: If I heard an advertisement on tv I might think to myself that sounds interesting but will I buy it , probably not. On the other hand if I had a friend tell me that they had gotten the product or service and they loved it and told me why they loved it, that in turn would make me want to go and buy it for myself. I already had an interest but that was like icing on the cake, just a little extra to make me want to buy.

Just think of it as like dating. You go out on a first date are you going to ak them to marry you right away or are you going to want to go on several dates before asking.

There are exceptions to this rule:
a. Your prospects are presold
b. You sell a product that people buy on impulse and/or you offer products that people need right now.

Be prepared to go on several dates before asking them to purchase.

Keywords are those elusive but vitally important words and phrases that internet users type into the search engines when they are looking for anything. Your keywords are the building blocks of all your marketing efforts. They have the power to make ,or break your ability to get the right traffic to your site. That is why it is important to find the right keywords that contain an accurate description of your product or service.

For the search engines to find you'll need to include your most powerful keywords in various places on your website -- your copy, headings, anchor and footer text, and alongside photos and graphics. BUT do not overdo it. If you overdo it and if the search engines suspect that you are stuffing your pages inappropriately, it will hurt you.
