Last time, I wrote about a certain Baghdad Blogger Salam Pax who capitalized on the impeding war in Iraq in 2003 to created a blog with huge popularity. Another great Blogger and probably one of the most outstanding blogger in the blogsphare is Sleve Pavlina. He started his blog StevePavlina dot com in 2004 and within one year, he turned it to one of the most popular self development blog in existence.

His site which comprises The home page, His blog and a Forum all together pull in over two Million unique visitor every month, a fit only few bloggers can achieve. Yet, he is not a superhuman, Steve Pavlina is just a person like you and I with flaws and mistakes. In his 'About me' page, he said about himself "Steve's passionate pursuit of personal growth began while sitting in a jail cell. What are Steve Pavlinas unique qualities that made him an outstanding blogger? The quality and honesty in his writing. It take a bold, honest persona to admit flaws and mistakes openly and even write about them, that is exactly what he does without qualm. In one of his post, Steve said he doesn't care if what he has written about himself could stop him from running for a political office.

His writings are natural and always makes the reader flows with it. He is consistent with his writings and does a lot of thing that other may probably not do better.

I'm not certain of how much money he is currently making with his blog but the last time I checked, it was about $40,000 per month! Great, even though he is not fully monetizing it but I'm sure it's more than that.

"Steve has been quoted as an expert by the New York Times, USA Today, U.S. News & World Report, the Los Angeles Daily News, Self Magazine, and The Guardian. He is also a frequent guest on radio and Internet radio shows".

Baghdad Blogger[s] You may wonder! What really inspired this heading. Well, it came as a result of my curiosity. As I was doing my keyword search this morning, I stumbled on the keywords "Baghdad Blogger". Driven by curiosity, I decided to learn more about this Blogger. Out of the Baghdad Bloggers, is seems Salam Pax stood out among all Baghdad Bloggers. According to Amazon's excerpt from the book authored by Pax Salam; Pax Salam Many times put himself at risk just to keep his blog updated.

Pax became popular due to his insider's reporting of the Iraqi war and bombardment in 2003. However, The Baghdad Blogger temporally went offline for about six weeks after the war resulting is questions and doubt about the true identity of the Baghdad Blogger. Am not sure of how many Bloggers are there in Baghdad and elsewhere in the Middle East but I'm sure there are Bloggers everywhere. What made Pax Salam, The Baghdad Blogger outstanding with his blog? Because he choosed subject he is familiar with and passionate about not because of his blog design! He is probably in Iraq or somewhere near Iraq which made him familiar with the happenings around Iraq during the inversion. The Baghdad Blogger capitalized in that to create a blog with first hand information about the on goings in Iraq.

The latest Trend is always ideal niche for blogging. People constantly yearn for the latest in everything, including information and anyone capable of providing that we gain followership, no matter who you are and where you are coming from. That's exactly what Salam Pax The Baghdad Blogger did.

I wonder if there is also a Blogger in Afghanistan' I haven't done the research though, maybe you'll help me out. Like the Blogger in Baghdad, who knows he may just be famous. What to blog about? Pondering over this question can be frustrating especially when you're at the point of starting your blog first. At that point, so many ideas seems to creeps in, you begin to think, should I blog about music, blog about Arabian model horse, blog about collectibles, blog about domain, or blog about any thing else. during the process of thinking what to blog about, you may get confused which may result to giving up entirely. Your passion
Are you passionate about what you wants to blog about? Remember, you will be writing posts on regular basis about your chosen niche and for you to do that effectively over a long period of time, it has to be on what you are most interested in. Blogging is all about self expression, being that as it is, you got to do it with passion. Blogging about subject you know nothing about is like finding your way through the forest you've never been to before! Driving through the city of Tokyo in a first visit is easier than that.

Acceptability
You expect wide followership with time? Then, your passion has to be interesting to others else, you will be writing to yourself! Before you decide on what to blog about, do research and find out how interested people's are about your blogging topic. Or how capable and ready are you, to push it forward and make people interested about what you're blogging about. Be sure level of interest is high before you decide to set up a blog about the subject

Profitability
Do you want to blog for profit? You can blog about anything if your interest isn't in making some bulk at the long run. But if you want to make money out of your blogging project, by all means, let what ever niche you choosed be a worthwhile thing to blog about. How do you know if what you intend to set your blog about is profitable? Google it and see how others are currently doing in that market. Use some research tools like Google trend to see what is currently in vogue and acceptable. Keyword research is important as well, get your keywords ready before you write your first post in that blog.

Competition
If there is competition in what you want to blog about, it means it worth blogging about but if the competition is so high, your effort may not be enough, you may find it difficult to make yourself relevant enough for people to notice your effort. A niche with less competition and relatively good search volume may be wise decision.

Blogging is a way of life for every bloggers! A decision on what to blog about is very necessary if your plan is to take your blogging career to the next level and achieve satisfaction at the end. Carefully consider your plan and decide on what to blog about with due diligence before you proceed.
