When his brother is killed in battle, paraplegic Marine Jake Sully decides to take his place in a mission on the distant world of Pandora. Off the Cuff With Peter Travers: Willem Dafoe

Daybreakers star Willem Dafoe stopped by the Rolling Stone offices to answer Peter Travers' burning questions this week: why is he the only vampire actor to be nominated for an Oscar? Why is he called Willem? And perhaps most importantly, why does he defend Body of Evidence? "Sometimes movies are taken and held up as whipping boys and people pile all their envy, confusion, anger, jealousy on it," he says.

Dafoe reveals he wouldn't want to be frozen in time ("The fact that we don't know when it's going to end makes life a good game"), admits playing creepies even gets to him ("Antichrist haunted me") and explains how the epic death scene from Platoon went down. Watch him slap a tambourine in precious parts of his body and tangle with Travers in the latest edition of Off the Cuff.

Sometimes it can be hard to tell what’s going on with your girl: Is she enjoying herself? Are you doing it right? Is she satisfied? Women can be hard to read, especially when it comes to sex. Though, all in all, if she is getting off you are bound to know about it on some level. If you’re not so sure and need some reassurance, check out her more subtle signs -- her sexual body language.

She will show you -- hopefully in no uncertain terms -- how you’re performing. Her body will display some overall signs of arousal that she can’t fake, but remember every woman is different. So, yes, it can often be just as difficult to get nonverbal feedback on your performance when there are so many variables. So, we've put together some general sexual body language signs that she's getting exactly what she wants from you.
Rapid breathing
Our breath when resting is a very peaceful and tranquil movement of air in and out of our lungs. It has the delightful title of "inspiration" for breathing in, and "expiration" for breathing out. When a woman is turned on, however, this breath comes in urgent puffs and probably has some involuntary moans escape with it as the air is forced quickly past her vocal cords. The increase in heart rate when her body prepares for orgasm means her internal organs and muscles are demanding more oxygen. If you can hear her breath change, you’re on the right track. If you can feel her heart thumping, you’re well on your way. This is her sexual body language giving you signals that she's aroused. However, if she's breathing normally after having her "big orgasm," perhaps she’s a big faker.
General writhing around and body movement
If your girl is curling her toes and writhing against you, chances are she's probably enjoying herself. Grinding and pushing against you means that she's really getting into it. If she's lying there limp, then things probably aren’t happening for her. Try changing positions, or stop entering her and warm her up from the beginning with your mouth or hands and see how her sexual body language progresses from there.
Thrusting hips
When she meets your thrusts, you’re doing something right. It's pretty safe to say that if she's matching your body movements and is in time with you, then she's getting something out of it. Good sex is often very synchronized, as that is how our bodies are designed to produce orgasm; repeated movements in the right spot build to a climaxing. The trouble is finding the right spot, of which there are many. If she isn’t meeting your thrusts then her sexual body language is telling you that she wants something else, so change positions and see how she responds.

Arms splayed out
If she's holding herself close she may not be feeling wild abandon -- her arms may be around you, her hands may be on your chest, above your head, wherever, except they're being held in close to her own body. If she's on top she may need her arms to maneuver herself and give herself some leverage to get the best angle. This is certainly not a definitive gesture, but can be useful. Her body should be responding to the situation at hand. She shouldn't be worried about covering herself up or where her arms are. If her arms are stretched wide, either held out to the side or splayed out on the bed sheets, you can bet her sexual body language is telling you you're right where you need to be and she's comfortable (and enjoying the ride).
Vaginal muscle movement
You have one of your most sensitive parts inside one of her most sensitive parts -- with each movement inside of her you can feel the walls of her vagina, the muscles and flesh. The vaginal wall is an incredibly strong muscle and she will probably use this to some extent for her own pleasure during sex. You may also feel the contracting and relaxing during orgasm -- her vagina spasms and this will clench you to some degree -- but not always, so don’t use that as a benchmark. Some women do have great control, and those who do are likely to have better sex and orgasms in general. If you don’t feel any clenching, don’t panic. You may know already by the feel of her vagina when she's not far away from orgasm -- she may let you enter further, or the overall sensation may be "just right" for you both. Only you can tell, so pay careful attention to her sexual body language and what’s going on inside of her.
learn the language of lovin'
Women love sex as much as men do, but what's sometimes missing is the self-knowledge, and of course a skilled partner who brings out the erotic best in himself and her. If you're unsure as to whether your lover is enjoying herself during sex, there is a need for more investigation. Communicate verbally and non-verbally; ask her what she wants you to do, carefully watch and listen to her responses to what you’re doing and don’t assume that what worked for your other girlfriends is going to work for her. Every woman (and man) has different tastes and won’t necessarily respond to the same touches, so try a few different things and don’t stick to a routine. Experiment, tease, tantalize, change positions. When you hear her moan, you’ll know you've hit just the right spot, so don't stop there.

An acoustic demo recorded by John during the famous Esher sessions. Includes the 'I need a fix' and 'Mother Superior jumped the gun' sections but not the 'Happiness is a warm gun' section.
Helter Skelter
Distinctly different from the master, this version of "Helter Skelter" (take 2) is a slow, driving tune shortened to 5 minutes from over 12 minutes in its original form.
Mean Mr. Mustard
Demo recorded at Esher featuring a bridge not used in the final version.
Polythene Pam
Demo recorded by John at Esher, with vocal gibberish in place of the unfinished lyric.
Glass Onion
Demo recorded at Esher, again, with vocal gibberish in place of unfinished lyric.

Mono mix featuring some additional sound effects placed by John which were ultimately left off the master, including an closing loop of BBC soccer commentator Kenneth Wolstenholme elling, "It's a goal!", which was dropped in favor of an orchestral score written by George Martin.

Take 8 (take 10 being the master) with some misspoken lyrics by Paul.
What's The New Mary Jane
Originally conceived by John for use on the White Album, then rejected, then considered as a B-side for the Plastic Ono Band to "You Know My Name (Look Up The Number)", "What's The New Mary Jane" was never issued except on bootleg discs. This is take 4, featuring John and George as well as Yoko and Mal Evans on sound effects.
Step Inside Love/Los Paranoias
Recorded during a jam during sesions for "I Will", "Step Inside Love" was written for Cilia Black for her BBC TV program. The jam extended into "Los Paranoias" at the suggestion of John.
I'm So Tired
A mix of takes 3, 6, and 9 (the master being take 14), recorded during the end of the White Album sessions.
I Will
Take 1 (the master being take 67 featuring the same elements as the released version.
Why Don't We Do It In The Road
Take 4, performed solo by Paul on acoustic guitar. The master was take 5 with several overdubs and all instruments except drums (played by Ringo) played by Paul.
Julia
The final track recorded for the White Album, this is take 2 featuring John searching for the right structure for the song. The master was take 3.

I've Got A Feeling
Featuring Billy Preston on keyboard, this version of "I've Got A Feeling" was recorded in the basement of the Beatles office building on Savile Row in London. Also filmed for use in the 'Let It Be' film.
She Came In Through The Bathroom Window
Another song recorded during the Savile Row sessions, but not used on the Let It Be album, instead, later recorded for Abbey Road.
Dig A Pony
A Savile Row take with the intor "All I want is...", which was later cut for the final version.
Two Of Us
Another Savile Row take recorded with paul and John on vocals.
For You Blue
According to the Anthology linear notes, all takes of "For You Blue" were recorded on Jan. 25, 1969, but the master featured a rerecorded vocal by George almost a year later on Jan. 8, 1970.

A rehearsal for a song never issued by the Beatles, instead, used on Paul's debut McCartney. Features some intersting vocals by John.
Medley: Rip It Up/Shake, Rattle, And Roll/Blue Suede Shoes
The only oldies medley of dozens rehearsed by the Beatles during Let It Be rehearsals released on Anthology, although many were later found on bootlegs.
The Long And Winding Road
The basic track to which Phil Spector added orchestration for the Let it Be album, to Paul's dismay. Noted as the version that 'nature intended'.
Oh! Darling
Recorded during the Savile Row sesions but unissued until Abbey Road, the beginning of this rehearsal of "Oh! Darling" is faded out due to misoperation of the recording machine.
All Things Must Pass
Frequently performed during Let It Be rehearsals, "All Things Must Pass" was not used on any Beatles album, rather was recorded by George for his first solo album of the same name.
Mailman, Bring Me No More Blues
An obscure Buddy Holly cover which was the B-side of "Words Of Love" which was recorded by the Beatles for Beatles For Sale in 1964. One of many Holly tunes recorded during these sessions.
Get Back
This version was the final number performed during the band's legendary rooftop concert on January 30, 1969. Notably, it is the final public performance by the Beatles.
Old Brown Shoe
An elaborate demo recorded by George using 2 overdubs of guitar and vocals.
Octopus's Garden
Take 2 with some studio chat from take 8 (the master was take 32). Written shortly after completion ofthe White Album sessions.
Maxwell's Silver Hammer
Take 5, without the anvil sound effect and some additional vocals (the master was take 21 with some vocal overdubs.
Something
A solo demo recorded by George, just before Joe Cocker's version (which preceded the Beatles version).
Come Together
Take 1 (the master being take 9 with further overdubs) featuring John on vocal, clapping his hands and playing tamborine.
Come And Get It
Recorded by Paul in less than an hour as a demo for Apple recording artists Badfinger for use as their first single. The song was a huge hit.
Ain't She Sweet
Performed during recordings for "Sun King", the jam that included this version of "Ain't She Sweet" also featured two other Gene Vincent songs. Also recorded during the band's Hamburg sessions with Tony Sheridan.
Because
Features the nine vocals (three each by Paul, John, and George) recorded in three separate takes, but without the instrumentation. Previously released on several bootlegs.
Let It Be
This is historic as it features part of Paul's original presentation of the song to the rest of the band. Also features some remixed orchestration and studio chat by John.
I Me Mine
From the band's final session, for which John was absent, which turned out "I Me Mine" as it was used on the Let It Be album.
The End

Real Love
As was with "Free As A Bird", "Real Love" was recorded by John as a demo on a tape recorder sitting on top of his piano around 1979. The tape was given to Paul by Yoko and he, George, and Ringo added vocals and instruments in early 1995. The original tape had tape hiss and clicking removed and was sped up to sound more upbeat. The celeste used on the intro is the same celeste used on "Because" from Abbey Road, and the harmonium used is the same one used on "We Can Work It Out".
Yes It Is
A combination of takes 2 and 14 (take 14 being the eventual master) recorded during Help! sessions in under five hours, "Yes It Is" was left off of the film's soundtrack and instead used as a B-side for the "Ticket To Ride" single.
I'm Down
The previously unreleased take 1, turning out "pretty darn good" in Paul's words, take 7 being the master.
You've Got To Hide Your Love Away
A mix of takes 1, 2, and 5 (take 9 being the master), in which take 1 breaks down early and some studio talk (including a little rhyme by John) preceding take 2, the song itself being take 5.
If You've Got Trouble
Written by Paul for Ringo to sing on Help!, only one take of "If You've Got Trouble" was recorded and vocal and other overdubs were added. However, they were not happy with the song and it was scrapped, with Ringo singing "Act Naturally" for the film instead.
That Means A Lot
Recorded for Help! in two takes spanning over a month apart, this is take 1 which was ultimately shelved. The song was given to singer PJ Proby and reached #24
Yesterday
With recording completed in two takes, the orchestral overdubs added to take 2, this version of "Yesterday" is the previously unreleased take 1. Paul can be heard instructing guitar chords to George, although the album's linear notes suggest George may not be playing.
It's Only Love
Take 2 with a false start from take 3 preceding it, featuring only guitars and vocals (the master being take 6).
I Feel Fine
Taken from the group's August 1, 1965 appearance on the Sunday night British program "Blackpool Night Out", their second and last performance.
Ticket To Ride
Another track from the August 1 concert for "Blackpool Night Out".
Yesterday
A third selection from their second "Blackpool Night Out" concert. This is the first ever stage performance of "Yesterday".
Help!
A fourth track from the second "Blackpool Night Out" appearance.
Everybody's Trying To Be My Baby
Recorded at the Beatles historic first concert at Shea Stadium in New York.
Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown)
Take 1 (the master being a remake recorded nine days later) featuring the sitar, but considerably slower. This version was recorded under the name "This Bird Has Flown".
I'm Looking Through You
The original recorded in nine hours and featuring vocal overdubs on a basic rhythm track, this early version is missing the chorus ("Why, tell me why...").
12-Bar Original
A favorite for bootleggers (who frequently mislabeled it "12-Bad Original"), "12-Bar Original" was an instrumental track written by all four Beatles for inclusion on Help!, only because at the time it was recorded there were not enough tracks to fill the album. John and Paul both brought several classics, however, and the song was dropped.
Tomorrow Never Knows
Take 1 recorded after a three-month vacation from filming and recording, featuring the same elements as the master (take 3), but slightly different.
Got To Get You Into My Life
Take 5 which is merely a shadow of the master (take 9), as it does not include some of the lyrics or vocal tracks and none of the orchestration.
And Your Bird Can Sing
The unreleased take 2 (take 10 being the master), in which the band breaks out in uncontrollable giggling fits.
Taxman
The full take 11, which was reduced into take 12 and issued as the master. This version features a few added lines and a different ending than the master.
Eleanor Rigby (Strings Only)
Take 14, which was originally reduced to take 15 and overdubbed with Paul's vocals, this is the orchestral score written by George Martin featuring 4 violinists, 2 cellists, and 2 viola players.
I'm Only Sleeping (Rehearsal)
An instrumental demo which was nearly erased from the session tape.
I'm Only Sleeping (Take 1)
Recorded as one of five mono takes recorded after the master had been established, this remake of "I'm Only Sleeping" is previously unreleased.
Rock And Roll Music
After completing Revolver, the Beatles performed five shows at the Nippon Budokan Hall in Tokyo, two of which were recorded by NTV, a Japanese television company. This Chuck Berry cover was recorded on June 30.
She's A Woman
Also taken from the Tokyo performances (during which the name Revolver was chosen for their new album) along with "Rock N' Roll Music" (see above).

Strawberry Fields Forever (Demo Sequence)
A series of takes recorded by John on his acoustic guitar at home. Features the basic sound, the first verse, and chorus.
Strawberry Fields Forever (Take 1)
Recorded during their first sessions back in the studio together in five months - and after renouncing touring forever - take 1 of "Strawberry Fields Forever" is significantly different than both the demo and the master.
Strawberry Fields Forever (Take 7 & Edit Piece)
The master being an edit of takes 7 and 26 (with the first minute being take 7 and the rest take 26 slowed down slightly), this is the entire take 7 with the familiar drum track dubbed onto the end (an extended version featuring remixed vocals - notably the "cranberry sauce" sequence).
Penny Lane
The third song recorded during the Sgt. Pepper sessions, this version of "Penny Lane" is a special Anthology mix of several takes, including several instrumental tracks which had broken down.
A Day In The Life
Another Anthology mix, featuring pieces of takes 1, 2, and 6 as well as some additional unmentioned takes. Features an interesting count-in by John and the basic 32-bar count-in which was overdubbed with an orchestral score in the master before Paul's "woke up/fell out of bed" bridge.
Good Morning Good Morning
The basic track (take 8) which was overdubbed with additional vocals and sound effects and eventually became the master (take 11).
Only A Northern Song
A mix of takes 3, 12, and some unmarked vocals. Although recorded during Sgt. Pepper's sessions and intended for inclusion on the album, "Only A Northern Song" did not surface until 1969's Yellow Submarine.
Being For The Benefit Of Mr. Kite! (Takes 1 & 2)
The first takes, both of which broke down but feature some insightful studio conversation which established the direction of the song.
Being For The Benefit Of Mr. Kite! (Take 7)
The basic track to which all of the overdubs were added (as take 9). Features some prodding by George Martin and some remixed instrumentals near the end of the track.
Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds
A mix specially prepared for Anthology including the best of tracks 6, 7, and 8.
Within You Without You (Instrumental)
The instrumental track without vocals, including Indian instruments such as the tamboura, tabla, dilruba, and swaramandal along with an overdub recorded a week later featuring violins, cellos, and George's sitar.
Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band (Reprise)
Recorded in one session, with take 9 being the master, this version is the basic take 5 with Paul's guide vocal. Overdubs were added later.
You Know My Name (Look Up The Number)
Recorded over a two-year period, starting in 1967 and continuing sporadically until it's release in 1970 as the b-side to "Let It Be", the original version of "You Know My Name" was over 6 minutes, later trimmed to around 4. This mix features more of the song but is not the complete track as recorded, as there are several parts on the released master not on this version.
I Am The Walrus
The basic track, take 16, that was fortified with strings, vocals, and sound effects. This version features just the band and John singing, without the overdubs.
The Fool On The Hill (Demo)
Recorded 3 weeks prior to the taping for Magical Mystery Tour, sounding very different from the master and without a completed set of lyrics.
Your Mother Should Know
An experimental arrangement by Paul.
The Fool On The Hill (Take 4)
Closer to the demo version than the final master, take 4 of "The Fool On The Hill" still did not feature a completed set of lyrics. This version taped nearly 3 weeks after the demo was recorded.
Hello Goodbye
Take 16, featuring many overdubs and extra instrumentation not used on the master, which, like this version, was overdubbed onto the basic track 14.
Lady Madonna
Remixed from a different take (take 3 and 4) than the released master.
Across The Universe
Recorded during the "Lady Madonna" sessions but unreleased until it appeared the WWF charity album. This is take 2, lacking several overdubs that the master featured.
