Totem Destroyer Deluxe Free Download - I’m beginning to wonder if the type of planet where something like Totem Destroyer Deluxe can take place actually exists. Is there a world where idols sit on platforms, waiting for their god to blow up the platform so they can fall onto sturdier, permanent platforms? If this planet does exist, I don’t want to go there.

That’s not to say this game isn’t entertaining. It is, but it’s more challenging (read, frustrating) than anything else. By the fourth level of the first world, I was already failing multiple times before finally landing that idol safely on a platform.

But perhaps I’m getting ahead of myself…

For the most part, you’re given one or more idols and a set number of blocks you must destroy by clicking on them. The blocks will tilt and fall, causing the idols to careen to earth. If they touch the ground, you fail. Sometimes, you can secure the idol before all the blocks are even broken. Quite often, you’re destroying blocks as they fall. It’s very tricky, and it only gets more difficult once you hit the levels with bombs, trampolines, levers, sticky gels, etc. If you can solve any of these on your first (or even tenth) try, you’re a much better puzzle gamer than I am…although that’s not saying much.

Totem Destroyer Deluxe Free Download - The gameplay is supplemented by some impressive background artwork that brings in plenty of color and atmosphere. The music and sound effects are fine, too, but you have to be into Totem Destroyer Deluxe for the gameplay. And by that, I mean clicking.

As I mentioned, you blow up the blocks by clicking your bomb (cursor) on them. You’ll have to blow up many as they’re moving, so you need pretty good reflexes for a puzzle game. And plenty of the puzzles end up being solved with luck; a good bounce or a block you wanted to blow up but that ended up helping when you missed it. You can strategize all afternoon, but your plan will likely fall apart when those idols start dropping.

And as if keeping the idols alive wasn’t enough, the developers threw in achievements to grab, so you’ll likely want to go back to replay levels even after you solved them once.

This all comes together into a package that’s pretty much alright. Quite honestly, it felt like I was playing an iPad game on my iMac, but considering it’s priced that way, it’s nothing to complain about. I can’t imagine anyone playing Totem Destroyer Deluxe for more than 10 to 15 minutes at a time, but if you’re bored with your other time killer games, Totem Destroyer Deluxe’s 70+ levels offers up a fair balance of entertainment and frustration.

It’s a fun planet to visit, but I wouldn’t want to live there- Totem Destroyer Deluxe Free Download .

Alice in Wonderland Free Download - In Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland, the heroine eats a cake to grow larger, drinks a potion to grow smaller and meets all manner of extraordinary characters. It’s an interesting starting point for a videogame and when focused through the prism of Tim Burton’s imagination, even more so.

The surprise is that you don’t play Alice. Instead, she spends the game congratulating you for minor feats, getting captured by guards and cowering on the Mad Hatter’s hat. However you do get to play as the Hatter, the Cheshire Cat, the White Rabbit, the March Hare and the Dormouse. Each of them has a unique ability that is vital to progress through the strange world Carroll invented and Burton re-imagined.

Ultimately, much of the success of this title can be placed at Tim Burton’s door. The environments and characters are marvellous. They strike just the right balance between lovable and sinister – Stephen Fry’s Cheshire Cat and Johnny Depp’s Mad Hatter are particularly good.

Atom Zombie Smasher Free Download isn't a game you can win. It's a game you attempt to lose in the most graceful and stubborn way possible. It revolves around the last ditch attempt of a military force to stop a zombie apocalypse in an overpopulated urban environment.

You know, the kind of overpopulated urban environment that has an excess of bodies and a lack of brains. Not that the zombies seem to mind, but then they never were fussy eaters.

I prefer to think of the civilians like little gold coins. Makes me want to save them more.

But this isn't just another zombie game, because it's not really about the zombies. It's more about organising and executing an evacuation when you already know you're not going to get everyone out.

The game involves establishing your helicopter pickup point and trying to manage things so the zombies don't get there before you've managed to evacuate the majority of those pathetic civilians. There are no last stands here. The only rising up to be done is not against the undead hordes, but as one of them.

The whole game is played from a top down perspective. You get an overview of a large, square chunk of city blocks. Civilians are little gold blocks, scientists are little blue ones and the zombies are bright pink. Bright, angry, hot, undead pink.

Each level is randomised and the arrangement of buildings creates pathways and obstacles. The ideal situation is a maze-like warren the zombies must navigate to get to you, while civilians have multiple options to get to the evacuation point.

Red buildings are ruptured gas lines. I've lost many good men to their explosions. Mostly explosions I caused.
After playing through many, many campaigns, I've never had that ideal situation crop up. At least, not naturally. But fortunately you can rig the deck a little.

The aces in your militarised hand come in two flavours. First you've got your directly offensive units - snipers, artillery and infantry. The first two get set up during deployment. They remain fixed in that position for the duration of the game but are able to change the direction in which they're firing.

Infantry are deployed on the ground. They're able to move around to take down the infected, but their more direct power is offset by a much shorter range and the requirement to move themselves to a new location.

The other type of unit has a less direct impact on the field. Barricades block off roads and junctions to the pink masses, enabling you to funnel them into tight killzones where you can drop explosives on their heads or mow them down with artillery.

Mines and dynamite are a little more instant in their effects. The former blow up when a zombie gets close and the latter is triggered manually. Except all the dynamite goes off at once, so it's better to put your sticks close together to maximise their impact. Oh, and there's zombie bait. Handy for baiting zombies.

By using this items on conjunction you can create a very hostile environment for your hostiles. Despite killing nothing, barricades are often the most useful, letting you block off entire potential pathways to the zeds. They make what would be a direct route to your extraction point a roundabout, sightseeing tour of dull grey buildings and screaming humans.

Potential apocalypse survivors can't be choosers, though, so that ideal combination you often dream about rarely becomes a reality. At the beginning of the campaign you first have to unlock the units (in random order) by taking territories back from the zombies.

Even once you have them all, you can only take a limited number of four to the zone you want to clear (and that selection is also randomised). It wouldn't do to make things easy, you have to understand.

There's a bit of a time limit in place for each level, too. While you start out in the daytime, you only have so much time (usually about a minute or two, depending on the time of year) before it turns to night.

When that happens the whole level gets swamped with the reanimated corpses of friends and lovers. If you haven't got the majority of people out, or at the very least to the extraction point, you've probably failed the level.
So you're racing against the clock and the zombies. Fun times!

As Facebook pushes forward to secure its place on the Internet as one of the most relevant social infrastructures, its gaming arm is, likewise, continuing to grow up. Kixeye has put together a new real-time strategy (RTS) game that pushes the envelope in terms of mature content on the platform, but does the hardcore formula of War Commander translate well for this mostly casual audience?

At the outset, War Commander tosses players right into the fray by having you help out a small group of fellow soldiers. The game is set in a sort of space-marine world reminiscent of Halo or Gears of War. You’ll command multiple units, á la Starcraft, but control has been streamlined in a way that seems to work particularly well as quick-fix, Facebook experience.

Whereas the newly released The Stratagems offered a deep and deeply rewarding strategy experience at the cost of a huge learning curve, War Commander is very inviting to newcomers of the genre. Getting started with the game is quick and easy, and the quest system does a great job keeping you on track. There’s no real story to speak of, and the premise itself is paper thing. However, it’s the type of game that requires little more than a desire to plunder.

As with other Facebook strategy games like Global Warfare, players Commander Free Download are given a newbie grace period: an opportunity to get their army up and running before becoming fair game to the rest of the community. You’ll need to build up your base with resource structures and training facilities, and it can be a bit slow going at first. Micro transactions are tied to options for the player to speed up production, but using Facebook credits never feels absolutely necessary.

Unfortunately, War Commander lacks the functionality to compete as a truly meaningful RTS. The game seems to borrow a page from Final Fantasy: Revenant Wings (Nintendo DS) in that you’re encouraged to simply move your fighting mob all at once to overwhelm your enemies as you go. Micro management is possible but highly impractical due to the nature of the interface, and the inability to view the stats of individual enemy units means there’s a lot of guesswork involved when planning out a raid.

On the plus side, the artificial intelligence (A.I.) is mostly competent, though the game’s agro system takes some getting used to. Friendly A.I. will continue to advance regardless of their distance from enemies or enemy structures, and the area of effect to agro enemies is also very wide. That being said, for the hardcore-experience wrapped-in-a-casual-packageWar Commander seems to be going for, the controls and A.I. programming make practical sense.

Production-wise, War Commander isn’t the most attractive game on Facebook, but the texture work is still somewhat impressive considering the nature of Flash performance. Be warned, though: War Commander has ample blood, as well as graphic language. The musical themes are powerful and fitting, yet gunfire and explosions are lackluster.

War Commander makes a good first impression, and it has enough of the right ingredients to make for a fun novelty. In the end, however, the game lacks the many nuances generally found in a solid strategy adventure.

The Secret Legacy: A Kate Brooks Adventure Free Download begins just after the death of Kate’s grandmother, a history professor with a love of archaeology. As Kate, your first task is to clean out your grandmother’s office, which is full of old books and artifacts from around the world. While organizing the desk you find a torn up letter to you from your grandmother that leads you to believe her death may not have been natural after all, as it appears someone wanted to steal credit for a discovery she was about to make.

Over the course of the game, you will follow clues left by your grandmother to various locales and ultimately to a dig site in Egypt where you will enter the tomb of a lost Pharaoh. Along the way you will find ancient Egyptian tablets detailing the story of the young Pharaoh and his struggle between an arranged marriage and the slave he has fallen in love with. This story feels like it should be the driving force of the game but this side story is only seen by the player if they read the tablets. The game play would be unchanged if the storyline had not existed.

The Secret Legacy: A Kate Brooks Adventure Free Download  is a pure hidden object game with a couple puzzles thrown in. There are four different types of hidden objects to find; traditional hidden objects, silhouettes, item pieces and related items (i.e. butterflies). For the most part, the room you are in is the hidden object scene and the scenes are well done and panoramic. You will have to scroll to find all the objects in the scene. The scenes are three-dimensional, which creates a nice effect.

The items you need to find will be on a list in the room. When you have found all the items you will have to locate another list that will tell you the next set of items to find. Unfortunately, many of the items are very small and/or hidden in dark corners meaning the player may be relying heavily on the hint button. There are two hint buttons in the game, one is labeled hint and the other button is below it and looks like a compass. If you use the hint button while looking for a hidden object you will be told to find the objects on the list. If you click the compass you will be shown where an item is. The hint button recharges over time and it takes awhile, even in standard mode.

Each time you finish finding the items on a list you will receive an inventory item. Most inventory items are used almost immediately and there is rarely a question of how to use the item. Actual puzzles are few and far between, which would be fine except there are plenty of moments in the game where a puzzle could have been inserted that were ignored.

Technically, The Secret Legacy: A Kate Brooks Adventure Free Download   Legend is not very polished. I encountered numerous glitches and frustrations during the games. The first problem was that the default resolution for the game did not work with my monitor and there was no way to change it. I played through the game with everything looking slightly squished. Also, the hot spots on many items were very, very specific. Eight minutes into the game I was looking for a baseball bat and even though the bat was large I could not pick it up. I finally succeeded by clicking under it and to the side…this was not the only object that had this issue. Near the end of the game I encountered a puzzle where I needed to flip switches. I was forced to skip the puzzle because the game would not respond to my clicks (even when it did respond I couldn’t locate the hotspot again.)

The Secret Legacy: A Kate Brooks Adventure Free Download  seemed to have a lot of promise but in the end it felt rushed and unpolished. This game would be appealing to a hidden object purist who has very good eyesight.

Like any good sequel, Diner Dash: Hometown Hero retains the core format that made it so popular in the first place. In case you need a refresher, gameplay takes place in various restaurants where Flo is responsible for seating customers, taking their orders, serving food, collecting tips and clearing the table for the next round until closing time, where if she's made enough money she moves on to the next stage.
Of course, it doesn't stay that simple for long. Soon Flo will also find herself mopping up spills, snapping pictures for tourists, bringing drinks, treats and desserts, pushing tables together for larger groups, setting down flower vases and chatting with customers at the front podium all in an effort to keep their disposition high enough that they won't storm off in a huff.
And just when she thinks she's got everything under control, the power will go out (forcing her to use a flashlight), or she'll hire an assistant - which is not actually as relaxing as it sounds because in Dinner Dash : Home Town Hero Free Download  the assistant doesn't just help Flo but also serves customers on her own, which adds an element of friendly competition.
Different types of customer each have little quirks to deal with. Teenage boys and girls, for example, love to chat on their cell phones - much to the annoyance of anyone sitting within earshot. Some mothers carry babies on their laps that will cry unhappily until Flo brings them a high chair to sit in. The food critic is picky and impatient, while the hungry men order two rounds of food in one sitting.
As Flo tackles one venue's restaurant at a time - starting with the zoo and moving on to the ballpark, museum, amusement park and beyond - you'll actually see the setting start to improve dynamically in response to the positive effect Flo has on it. You'll get to upgrade the counters, floor, tables, decorations and equipment, and in response more people will start to populate the area. The ballpark's empty stands will fill with spectators, animals will be added to the zoo, and parents will start bringing their children to the museum again.
That's just one of the notable changes to Dinner Dash : Home Town Hero Free Download. Another is customization. You could already change how you wanted Flo to look by selecting different clothing and accessories, but Dinner Dash : Home Town Hero Free Download takes it to the next level. Not only can you create a custom waitress (or waiter), but you can also design your own restaurant, play through it, and then upload it to the brand new Diner Dash website at DinerDash.com so that other people can play it too.

If you're not keen on competition, there's also a co-operative mode where you work together to serve customers.

If you're willing to pay a small fee (we're talking real-world money here, not the money Flo earns from her customers) you can purchase additional clothes and backgrounds and even entire new restaurants to play in Story mode, Endless and Multiplayer mode. The first to be offered is Waterpark Madness for $4.99.
Still, Dinner Dash : Home Town Hero Free Download  by no means feels like half a game if you choose to ignore the meta-transactions. There's enough to do in Story and Endless mode, not to mention designing your own diners and challenging people online, that you don't feel like anything's missing if you don't pony up for the extra stuff. They really are just that: extras.
Dinner Dash : Home Town Hero Free Download is a good mix of the familiar along with several significant new ideas. Gameplay is still as challenging as ever and gets more than a little frantic at times (the bawling babies certainly don't help), but most importantly, the game still feels fresh - which after this many sequels isn't an easy feat.

At its best, the Road Rash series is the perfect blend of motorcycle racing and slapstick combat. The last game in the line, Road Rash 3D for the PlayStation, leaned much more toward racing than fighting and ignored the fondly remembered two-player mode seen in Road Rash 2 for the Genesis. It was a good enough game; it just wasn't really Road Rash.

Road Rash 64, however, created by THQ and EA-alum Don Traeger's Pacific Coast Power & Light, is a complete rethinking of Road Rash 3D, rather than the N64 port it was once thought to be. Beyond all the extras it offers over its PlayStation cousin, it returns combat squarely to the fray, making Road Rash feel like Road Rash once again. This may sound elementary, but fans of the series will appreciate what this means for the gameplay.

Fans will also be glad to hear that there's more fighting in RR64 than in any previous Road Rash game, and this time you're even graded on your pugilistic performance at the end of each stage. Causing multiple accidents and resisting arrest earns you a modest cash bonus on top of the money you garner for placing in the race. New weapons, such as pool cues and cans of mace, now add to the familiar RR arsenal of cattle prods, nunchucks, and crowbars, with power-ups such as a 4X damage modifier making an appearance as well.

Weapon or no weapon (fists and feet), the in-game fighting is great fun, too. In fact, it almost supercedes the racing element entirely. You'll begin discovering combinations that work well against your opponents, like using the cattle prod to stun a racer and then kicking him into a tree or into the path of an oncoming car. As you come to know the different racers, all of whom have different names and personalities, a full-on assault becomes truly satisfying. One rider, Derrell, consistently came after me, vexing me so much that I laughed maniacally whenever I sent him careening into a sign or building or just launched him off his bike.

And physics are a big part of what makes slamming face first into a stop sign different from plowing broadside into a Mack truck. The physics in RR64 are, if not always realistic, at least intensely comical, as the bikes and riders go flying in fairly amusing ways. In one instance, I watched a driver hit a tree, then he and his bike - independently of each other - went ping-ponging back and forth several times between that tree and a nearby light pole. In another case, I hit an obstacle right before a tunnel, flew into the air, landed on the other side of the mountain, and was able to keep going and rejoin the race.But don't think collision with the aforementioned obstacles is optional. As you get further in the game, the traffic gets heavier, the enemies get smarter, the tracks get longer, and the cops appear with greater frequency. On some tracks, cops outnumber racers; thanks to them, just completing these courses is a feat - something made obvious when the collective competition has long since been busted, leaving an entire police department trailing you.

One way to evade the increasing AI of your CPU opponents is to enlist your human friends as competition. The multiplayer modes let you compete against up to four players at once on tracks you've raced in a single-player or special multiplayer-specific level, such as a sewer, toxic chemical plant, or construction yard. The multiplayer-specific levels should be avoided since they feel extremely poorly designed, and every bike - except for the scooters - goes flying at every little jump, making you spend more time in the air than on the track. But while the earlier tracks from the single-player mode are simply too short, the longer tracks are great to race on, giving you plenty of time to beat the hell out of your friends. As in PC first-person shooters, taking on your friends is much more fun than fighting the computer, and RR64's multiplayer shines on these tracks.

Multiplayer aside, there are a few more problems with Road Rash 64 in general, such as the fact that without the Nintendo RAM Pak, the graphics are a blurry, muddy-looking mess. Using the RAM Pak and bumping the game into hi-res mode cleans it up quite a bit, but this action then retards the frame rate in favor of nice visuals. The best solution is to set the game to the letterbox mode, which trims the top and bottom out of the frame, but provides clean visuals and a speedy frame rate. In this mode, the graphics are still not great, but they're not hard on the eyes either. On the audio side, the soundtrack has several songs from Road Rash 3D, which is impressive on one hand because they've managed to cram them into an N64 cartridge. On the other hand, this is unfortunate since the songs weren't that great to start with, they are repeated constantly, and they have an overall sound quality that is pretty low. But Road Rash 64 does manage to prove the axiom that graphics and sound take a back seat to gameplay. It's a game worth completing, worth inviting your friends over to play, and worth owning. Yes, hitting people while driving a motorcycle is that much fun.

As wonderful as weddings might be, the preparation can sure be complicated and troublesome. In Wedding Salon, a new time management game by developer Sugar Games, you can experience this exciting rush by following Holly, who manages wedding shops all over the country while planning her own marriage at the same time. We were fairly entertained by Wedding Salon, but not enough to give it a stellar rating.

Wedding Salon features 70 levels in ten different shops, although that sounds much more than it actually is. Experienced time management players will probably finish all levels within three to four hours, which still is a convincing playing time. The game only introduces one mode, but the player can at least try to reach an expert goal in each level. Those expert points can then be spent on Holly’s own dream wedding, a feature that is very similar to the decoration of a VIP lounge in Hotel Dash. You can choose the meal, the wallpaper in her suite, and a lot of other details, which is quite fun and actually a good motivation to get expert scores in every level.

The gameplay of Wedding Salon can be easily compared to Sally’s Spa or a previous game by this developer called Wendy’s Wellness. Customers enter your store and take seats in the waiting area. You can then drag them to the appropriate stations according to their wishes displayed in thought bubbles. Those stations differ from shop to shop, and you have to play mini-games at most of them to increase the patience of your customers.

Those mini-games mainly consist of multiple-choice tasks, such as clicking the appropriate earring, create the desired cake, or choosing the correct pattern and color for a dress. If you finish those mini-games successfully your customers will earn hearts, which means that you will earn more money. You are also able to click roses or hearts inside shops to increase the patience of the currently least patient customer. The game also introduces a different kind of chaining. Instead of colors or similar actions you are rewarded for treating men and women at separate stations. The only reward for doing so is that you don’t have to perform the mini-game after treating three persons of the same gender at one station.

Customers do not differ notably in Wedding Salon with only one exception. Younger customers will want to visit stations backwards, which regularly messes up your carefully planned order. Certainly you are also able to upgrade each shop with the money you earn, although those upgrades do not really differ at different locations and generally lack any originality. You are able to improve the coffee machine, hire assistants for various stations or upgrade stations themselves. Every once in a while there are also shorter, but quicker levels where you have to perform the same mini-game in a limited amount of time.

As you probably have already recognized by now, I’m not overly excited about this altogether run-of-the-mill time management game. Wedding Salon does nothing terribly wrong, but it lacks any pleasant features, welcome surprises, or at least the polish of similar titles. While the game is quite challenging at times, there is no real strategy about it, so that replaying levels is not as entertaining as it could be. Controls become a bit annoying at times, too. Between all the clicking and dragging and the pop-up mini games, there is no real flow, which is one of the decisive factors determining whether a game of this genre is fun or not.

Furthermore Wedding Salon also lacks real variation - the mini-games are rather similar, customers do not differ enough to require or enable strategies and the graphics are definitely outdated, although they at least convey a certain charm considering the theme of the game.

In the end, Wedding Salon is a nice variation of the popular Sally-series in a very different setting, but with much less polish, uninspired mini-games, and at times annoying controls. Nevertheless it cannot hurt to try the game for any time management game fan. New releases in this genre are few and far between right now, and at least Wedding Salon offers a somewhat fresh setting, a convincing playing time, and an interesting challenge in some levels.

In Death at Faring Point, you are Dana Knightstone, a novelist, and you're in Scotland. Why? Maybe you're seeking inspiration for your next book, or maybe you just like the weather. In any event, soon after your arrival you notice a ghostly apparition standing outside your window. It turns out that the ghost is, or more accurately was, a 19th-century chap named David. David was in love with Charlotte, but David was a poor artist and her mother didn't approve. William was also in love with Charlotte, and William was filthy rich, but Charlotte loved David. Then David turned up dead. William, seeing an opening, made his move, but Charlotte rejected him. Then Charlotte turned up dead too. Scotland in the 1800s was apparently kind of an unhealthy place for romantics. And so the adventure begins!

Death at Fairing Point is really more of an adventure game than a hidden object game. There are a handful of conventional hidden object scenes but for the most part the searches are used to suss out clues, inventory items and pieces to various puzzles. Puzzles are the real name of the game; there are a lot of them, and while there are one or two tricky bits, for the most part they're very familiar and not terribly challenging. There's nothing here that should hold you up for very long but if you do happen to get hung up, the usual timer-based hint function will point out objects, complete puzzle steps or, if you're just standing around in a hallway wondering where to go next, give you a shove in the right direction.

The game is a bit on the plain side visually, clean and pleasant but not particularly stunning. Music is unobtrusive to the point of being entirely forgettable, while the voice acting, which is limited to Dana Knightstone's narration, is clear, reasonably expressive and quite sufficient for the job. Technically, the game is a rock, with no glitches, bugs, crashes or weird translation errors, and at about four hours in length, not including the bonus chapter included with the Collector's Edition, it'll keep you busy for a good while.
That's great as far as it goes; unfortunately, Death at Fairing Point doesn't go very far with it. Like so many games in the genre, it's perfectly competent but very formulaic. From the basic gameplay to the story about a novelist, ghosts and a doomed love from a different era, there are no surprises here. (Okay, there is one small surprise, but I'm not going to spoil it for you.) Not that there's necessarily anything wrong with that, but it's bit like watching Law & Order reruns: sooner or later, even the classic Mike and Lenny episodes start to get a little dull.

The Collector's Edition is a letdown to say the least, limited to just a single extra chapter that tacks on another 45 minutes of gameplay but really doesn't add anything of value to the story itself. There are no wallpapers, no soundtrack, no cool goodies of any sort; a strategy guide is included but given the relative simplicity of the game I can't imagine anyone needing it, and in this day and age strategy guides are almost irrelevant anyway. As a Collector's Edition it is very disappointing, and more to the point it's just not worth paying extra for.
Death at Faring Point: A Dana Knightstone Novel isn't a revolution but it is still a very good hidden object adventure that's especially enjoyable for gamers with a taste for romance. The Collector's Edition is a big disappointment and anyone considering it should be aware of how little it offers, but the game itself is good, solid adventuring fun and well worth a look Death at Fairing Point.

First Impressions

From the very moment you start up Limbo, there are hardly any options in the start menu. The start menu is comprised of; resume game, single player, load chapter, and settings, which does not give you the option to change your controls. Not being able to alter the controls is not bad at all; actually it is good, because it easily allows the player to get into the game without having to mess around with the controls, and all of the controls in Limbo are perfect. Right after you get past the start menu screen, you are immediately in this very eerie, morbid environment where a young boy wakes up. The environment and setup immediately gives the player the vibe that there is something very wrong with the world of Limbo. Additionally, Limbo is very basic at first, because it gives you very simple puzzles to start with, such as jumping down cliff, but not jumping too far to break your neck, or simply moving objects to get to a higher elevation. Limbo itself is a game that won’t infuriate you because of its stiff controls, or its puzzles being too difficult, and the great visuals, and audio only add to the game.

The plot for Limbo PC Game revolves around a nameless boy who awakens in the middle of the forest, who is trying to save his younger sister from fate. However, the game lacks details of why you are here, what you are doing, and what’s your purpose entirely. But, because of the lack of detail, the player wants to proceed through the levels to inquire what is going on this strange place. Throughout the single player, the game does have cut scenes to keep you entertained, but lacks real voice acting; however, the voice acting would have ruined the feel of the game. The cut-scene use a great deal of lightning to animate the water, and embellish the whole game with film grain effects. Additionally, the game only has one singe-player mode, no multiplayer, and only one difficult, which I believe is normal. However, the challenge that Limbo provides keeps you on the edge of your seat by making you go through obstacles, and different types of enemies. The enemies mostly consist of humans and spiders. The obstacles on the other hand consist of moving a box in order to jump over it to climb a ledge, or setting a trap for your enemy. The single player never becomes repetitive. The developers always seem to have something new up their sleeve, where sometimes you die because of a puzzle, or an obstacle, and then later formulate a plan on how to beat it. However, the game isn’t unfair, if something can kill you in this purgatory sort of environment, you can kill it, or stop it from working. Even if you die in this game during a puzzle, or by enemies, the game immediately spawns you right before the puzzle, and gives you another attempt to tackle it. The single player also gives the player a chance to get personal achievements by grabbing collectibles, and another playthrough; however, I couldn’t get any of these the first time I played, because I didn’t realize there were any achievements until I finished the game.

Final Thoughts

Limbo at first sight for me did not seem to be very fun, because I believed the puzzles were very easy, but after going through the levels, the danger becomes higher, and gives you a run for your money. Compared to many dlc’s I have actually purchased, such as Dead Nation, I find that Limbo is very much one of the best dlc games that you can buy on the market today. Limbo itself cannot be compared to other triple-A games, but this is a game that is worth playing twice, and it is worth buying for 9.99, when the length of the game is 5 hours.

Ratings

Graphics - Graphics are very solid, and very different from what I have seen before. It hands you film grain that you would see in a movie, but it isn't by any means innovative, or something triple A titles haven't done.

Sounds - I can't really say that there was any sound within Limbo to say that it deserves more than a 3. It does desere recognition for helping graphics, and gameplay make the game much more atmospheric

Nightmare on the Pacific is noteworthy due to its cinematic cutscenes and full voice acting, in addition to its balance of hidden object and puzzle gameplay. Unfortunately will games for kids, some pacing issues late in the game put a damper on the otherwise enjoyable hidden object game.

Nightmare on the Pacific follows the Brooks family, who was enjoying a lovely family vacation on the Neptune cruise ship when it is struck by a Hurricane. You play as the matriarch of the family, and are separated from your family - your husband, daughter and son - during the storm. While you have a chance to leave the ship, you refuse to leave your family behind. Thus begins your journey of tracking down the missing members of your family and escaping the ship alive before the Pacific Ocean claims it forever.

Nightmare on the Pacific combines basic hidden object gameplay (find items from a list) and a variety of puzzles like those you would expect from such a game. You’ll put together jigsaw puzzles, find and replace missing parts of machines to make them function, solve tile-sliding puzzles, and otherwise navigate the cruise ship searching for one family member at a time through a series of seamlessly connected chapters.

While the gameplay is nothing new, it does offer a great balance between the various gameplay types, so it’s unlikely you’ll find yourself tired of searching for items, as there tends to be a lot of content to get through in between. After every hidden object scene, you’ll be given at least one item that can be useful to you elsewhere on the ship. Find a hook, for instance, and it can allow you to reach a keycard that is hanging from a pole. Take the keycard back to your room and unlock the door, and so on and so forth.

With all of this backtracking through various floors and even two parts of the ship (the ship splits in two as you play the game), it can at times leave you a bit confused as to what to do next. Items may not always have an immediate recognizable purpose, so you’ll need to think outside of the box to figure out where some items go (for instance, when you find a toaster, the use of said toaster is anything but making food). Luckily, the Premium Edition of the title contains a step-by-step strategy guide will games for kids if you get confused, but even if you stick with the standard edition of the game, the user interface will keep track of your current task(s) by presenting you with icons that run along the top of the screen.

In terms of the game’s presentation, there is complete voice acting throughout the story, but the quality therein is less than stellar, to put it politely. The other production values are quite high, including cinematic cutscenes and graphics that are better than average, especially in one part of the game, where you are in a portion of the ship that has capsized, leaving the rooms upside down, with debris all over the “floor.”

Nightmare on the Pacific starts with a great feeling of panic, as rooms are flooded and electricity crackles from dangling wires. The enveloping atmosphere continues as you make your way through the game, but you can unfortunately make your way through the entirety in just two hours or less, depending on how often you use hints, puzzle skips, or the strategy guide (if you have it).

For Premium Edition purchasers, you’ll have access to an Alternate Ending, which is simply a cutscene showing a different ending to the game, and to the Prequel, which lasts for the better part of 30 minutes, and shows what happens to the Brooks family in the hours before the hurricane strikes the Neptune.

All told, Nightmare on the Pacific has a great premise, and it is carried out decently enough for the short time that it lasts. There are some pacing issues at the end of the game, making the ending feel a bit rushed (it takes less than five minutes to find your final missing family member), but if you’re simply looking for an enjoyable gameplay experience with a great atmosphere and relatively high attention to detail, this is one worth picking up will games for kids.

Imagine a puzzle game board like Bejeweled, but instead of an 8x8 grid of gemstones, such as diamonds and rubies, in Coffee Rush you're playing with coffee beans, milk, sugar, whipped cream, ice cubes and other coffee-related items. The idea is to build a recipe as indicated on the right-hand side of the screen, which involves swapping adjacent items so that you create a line of 3 or more identical items, vertically or horizontally. This causes the items to disappear and make room for additional items to fall down onto the board.

You'll move through seven different parts of the city to win over business - namely, Suburbia, Collegetown, The Beach, Industry City, Waterfront, Tech Valley and Downtown - and meet new types of customers along the way, each with their own amount of patience and tipping habits. A hippie for example, isn't in much of a rush but he isn't the best tipper either. In total you'll meet a dozen characters, such as highway patrolmen, blushing brides, body builders, movie stars and heiresses, aliens, and so on - with each character saying something funny.

We found this game hard to put down, plus we loved the graphics, music and sound effects, but aside from it being a clone of Burger Rush, we have two other minor niggles. One is that your performance doesn't always match what you hear. In one instance, I was told "Outstanding!" while tallying up my daily total but I was only at 42 percent customer satisfaction (many left after waiting too long). Secondly, while there are seven kinds of shops (and you can upgrade its look in a few areas), they all tend to look the same, not to mention most of the screen is covered by the 8x8 board anyway.

Overall, however, Coffee Shop is a very good game worth recommending - especially for "match 3" and "time management" fans, though Burger Rush players might not be able to get the taste of deja vu out of their mouths Part games for kids .

Sick Puppies' real-time strategy game stands horror-game traditions on their heads, swapping the spooks and scares of Resident Evil and Silent Hill for supernatural management duties reminiscent of Dungeon Master. It's a great novelty, first of all, but it's also a real success in terms of gameplay, thanks to outstanding scenario design and an irreverent sense of humor.

Some of the haunting stunts you can pull are straight out of Ghostbusters.

Using your team in the field is a balancing act. Ghosts must be fettered to specific objects, so you can't spread them all over the map. Weatherwitches and headless horsemen are linked to thoroughfares like hallways and roads. And so on.

Role-playing concerns also crop up. They can also be upgraded with new skills, which are purchased in the ghoul room with the gold plasm awarded at the end of each successful scenario. Managing your spook squad is about more than just picking the right ghoul for the job.

Few things will scare homeowners as much as revealing rotting corpses in boarded-up rooms.
Regular plasm consumption is another issue. This is the sole resource in the game, powering your ability to manifest ghosts and all their spectral abilities. Overtax yourself and you can run out of this vital substance, a dire scenario that ends the current haunt and throws you out of the mortal realm. Plasm is earned by scaring people, forcing you to keep a focus on screams and shudders even when the scenario objectives involve something more subtle than driving residents out of their homes.

Even with these physical anchors and resource restrictions, a lot of moving around is required. For starters, your victims don't stand still. Humans in the game communicate in thought balloons and gibberish voices, much like those in The Sims, and are rated in terms of belief, terror, and madness. Build their belief that something out of the ordinary is going on and you'll be able to terrify them or drive them mad. Affect either of the latter categories through something like an eerie laugh, a chill wind blowing through a sealed room, or a ghost playing peekaboo, and the victim will flee, forcing you to adjust your tactics. They even have individual fears, like lightning or insects, which can be revealed with powers like know aura and then used to your advantage.

Developer Manifesto Game Studio does exactly that with Fruits Inc, which might be described as a mixture between Build-a-lot and Farm Frenzy.

Fruit Inc Free Download stars Jill, a young business student who suddenly gets the opportunity to work at her grandmother’s farm. While there is only one mode with 45 levels, the game takes players into consideration who prefer a slower pace. It is possible to beat any level in gold, silver or bronze time, but it is impossible to fail and finishing a level quicker does not give any specific advantages for future levels.

There are the usual achievements to reach, but in this case they are beautifully animated and absolutely suited to the game’s theme. Moreover workers will earn you experience tokens over time the more they work at factories. Those tokens can be used to improve any factory in three different ways. You can upgrade quality seals, which will reduce the time it takes to process fruits, green seals, which will increase the price of the end product, or productivity, which enables you to process more fruits at once.

Basically this is all you have to know about the gameplay of Fruits Inc. We were quite fascinated by the rather simplistic graphics, which are charming nonetheless, and the very reduced game mechanics that still provoke more strategic thinking than similar titles easily. The game bears a lot of replay value because in a lot of levels you will have to try various strategies to beat them in gold time finally.

However, there are also some severe problems that can become frustrating pretty quickly. Not only does the tutorial lack a more detailed overview of helpful strategies, it is also very slow and annoying. Moreover, the balance and pace of Fruit Inc Free Download is generally lacking. Some levels are excruciatingly slow, others become absolute clicking frenzies unexpectedly. It is also quite discouraging that it gets hard already in the beginning to even finish a level in silver time. A generally faster pace along with a more generous timer definitely would have helped the game a lot.

In the end Fruit Inc Free Download is a charming and entertaining game that will absolutely please more patient players who appreciate fresh gameplay, a new setting, a steep challenge and a title with more than a few edges. It also doesn't hurt that Cooking Dash is the first game to star Flo herself (as opposed to one of her many friends) since the Diner Dash series. Not that we don't like Quinn, Coco and the rest of the stars of the various"dash" spin-offs, but there's something about the touching bond between Flo and Grandma that makes the two of them such great casual game characters.

One character you won't see much, however, is Flo's trusty chef Cookie. Through a story that unfolds in the usual way - via a series of comic book panels – we learn that Cookie has been poached by two TV executives who give him his own reality cooking show.

With no one to run her diner's kitchen, Flo and Grandma brush up on their cooking skills and decide to simply do it all themselves. As a result, in Cooking Dash you'll not only seat and serve customers, but prepare their meals as well.

To accommodate this new gameplay, the layout of the diner is slightly different. Customers no longer sit at tables, but at a true diner-style counter, side-by-side on stools. Most of the game screen is taken up by the spectacular kitchen area, which is outfitted with stoves and deep fryers, smoothie and ice cream machines, a workstation for Grandma to make sandwiches and other cold foods, as well as various dessert and condiment trays.

When a customer has been seated and places an order, as indicated by a picture of the food in a thought bubble, you must prepare and serve the food as quickly as possible before the customer grows impatient and leaves. This could be as simple as taking an orange over to the smoothie machine and pressing a button to whip up a frothy cold one, or as complicated as cooking spaghetti and meatballs.

Yes, one of the biggest – and most exciting – twists in Cooking Dash is that you get to actually cook stuff. To make the aforementioned spaghetti and meatball dish, for example, you have to grab some raw pasta and throw it into a boiler on top of the oven, then put some meatballs in a frying pan on top of another stove. The food takes a few seconds to cook, and you have to take it off the heat at just the right time. Wait too long, as indicated by blinking red circle, and the dish will start to smoke and burn, and eventually be ruined.

Flo and Grandma will be called upon to babysit other restaurants around town while their owners go away to be guest chefs on Cookie's TV show. Thus you'll get to experience a variety of unique restaurant themes that each offer different foods, from cafe-style submarine sandwiches and salads to Italian pizza and Japanese sushi and calamari.

In between levels you can purchase upgrades for each restaurant, which are divided into ones that improve performance (like more efficient ovens, a faster-moving Flo and coffee to improve customers' dispositions), and aesthetic upgrades like better floors and counters that improve the shop's appearance. (I would have rather had more nifty machines and foods than nicer floors, but to each her own.)

Cooking Dash is fast-paced; like the Diner Dash games, you receive bonus points for chaining commands together and seating customers in same-colored seats. The game is intelligent too – you can juggle two dishes at once and you'll find that the right side dishes and condiments get sorted onto the right plates 99 per cent of the time.

In the game's second mode, Endless, you can replay any restaurant with the goal of seeing how long you can last without losing all of your stars if customers leave angry, with the neat ability to buy upgrades at any time on the fly.

Restaurant patrons aren't as over-the-top eccentric or interesting as the guests in other restaurant management games (one of our favorites is still the light sabre-wielding geek from Burger Rush), but they do have different behaviors and will get on each other's nerves if you sit two incompatible personality types close to each other, like the conservative old man and the hippie.

Players who like their time management games to be fast-paced and even a little frantic will love Cooking Dash. The cooking portion adds a challenging new dimension to the gameplay, and the game has ample polish and fun to go with it.

Bistro Boulevard strives to combing time management gameplay with some of the typical features of social games as players are tasked with reviving a once famous boulevard of 5-star restaurants that now sits abandoned and gloomy.

The game features an infinite number of levels in theory spread over six different restaurants, but most players will probably need 12 levels per restaurant to finish the game. A level is equal to a day, and you can replay every restaurant as often as you want to, although it loses some zest when you have purchased and improved every possible feature. The story is pretty much non-existent, it’s the same old “lead a shop/family business/etc to former glory” and most players will probably skip through it.

Basically Bistro Boulevard can easily be compared to Shop-it-Up in that it creates a feeling of leveling up and features a graphical setting that resembles some of the top social games. Over the course of the game you will visit and manage restaurants offering various cuisines including American, Chinese and Mexican. At the start of each day you are able to decorate the walls and floors of your current restaurant, hire or train staff, learn new recipes, add tables or better equipment, and create today’s menu. The actual preparation of each day takes generally longer than the regular level, and surprisingly turns out to be the heart of the game.

During levels of Bistro Boulevard there is not much else to do than to seat groups of visitors of varying numbers to tables and watching your staff taking care of them. Waiters will take orders, deliver meals, and clean tables, and the chefs in the kitchen prepare those meals. While this happens you can see your account grow, but salaries and rent will be deducted from your income at the end of each day. Unfortunately there are no different types of visitors, but since you can’t influence anything during the day it does not matter that much. A visitor’s patience depends on how beautiful the restaurant is decorated, and visitors may leave if they have to wait too long to be seated or served, but this rare seems to happen anyway.

The best feature of the game is undoubtedly guessing recipes. Each recipe contains three ingredients, and while it is pretty easy to guess them just by the name of each recipe for the first three restaurants, it gets more challenging later on if you don’t know foreign cuisine very well. You may use a limited amount of hints, but each time you try out a combination of ingredients money will be deducted from your account, so you should guess carefully. Moreover there are a lot of options before each day. The number of decorative items is impressive, you can improve stoves, grills, and counters to speed up the cooking, and you can train the skills of chefs (to improve the meal’s quality) and waiters (to increase tips).

Apart from that you also have tasks to fulfill, such as seating a certain number of parties, buying specific decorative items, or earning $4,000 in one day. If you fulfill each task you will earn one star for the restaurant, and this also describes your goal to win the game - earning five stars for each restaurant. To earn more stars a restaurant needs all possible employees, have one or two perfect days, discover all recipes, and reach a specific level of decor. Unfortunately this remains the same for each restaurant, and even the smaller tasks do not really vary.

Aside from recipes, each restaurant feels pretty much the same, and simply discovering recipes is not enough to keep the game feeling fresh. Players used to time management gameplay of previous Fugazo titles like Farmer’s Market or Kitchen Brigade might chafe at the fact that there isn’t much to do while your staff takes care of everything.

Shop-N-Spree: Family Fortune is a wonderful follow-up to the original Shop-n-Spree, a game that blended time management and hidden object gameplay and tasked the player with running the local family department store. Family Fortune expands to three locations with fun new departments offering plenty of new merchandise to hunt for.

Like the first game, the goal is to sell a certain amount of merchandise to earn stars with which to open new departments, and later, whole new stores. Each level takes place in one of your store's departments, such as Bakery & Desserts, Living Room & Kitchen, or Electronic Appliances, and items are themed accordingly. Customers arrive at the bottom of the screen with shopping lists (such as a wooden table, ceramic vase, and bottle of water), and you must find the items and drag them onto the customer.

Family Fortune offers two modes that cater to whether you're more of a time management fan or a hidden object gamer. Timed mode is tailored to fans of fast-paced clicking, with conventional time management goals such as needing to earn a certain amount of money by the end of the day, and the ability to aim for Expert goals. If you come from more of a hidden object background, you can play Untimed mode, which allows you to takes as much time as you need to reach the sales goal without any time pressure.
The gameplay and appearance of Family Fortune is very similar to that of the original Shop-n-Spree, which, trust us, is a good thing. The game is fast-paced and fun, with hundreds of items thoughtfully and cleverly arranged in each department.

You'll start out in a suburban department store, whose setting will be familiar if you've played the first game. But from there you're off to two very different new locations, each with their own unique departments. The Beach store, for example, offers seafood, beach fashion and tropical gardening, while the Snowy store has departments for winter sports and Christmas decorations.

Customers have different personalities that affect what they ask for and how they behave. Some are impatient and don't like to be kept waiting. One type of customer, for example, always asks for the same item in as many different colors as you can find. There are color bonuses, too. For example, if a customer is wearing red and asks for a pillow, you'll get a bonus if you give her a red pillow.

Every so often you'll get to play a quality control minigame before the store opens, which involves finding broken items and removing them from the scene. There are eight other minigames, too, all variations on spot the difference or finding the odd item out. These minigames are optional, but you can earn extra hints and stars if you manage to beat them.

The only downside is that the story is completely forgettable, which really is a shame since titles like Ranch Rush have proven that there's room for a good story in time management games. Gameplay-wise, however, Shop-N-Spree: Family Fortune is just as fun as the first game, with enough new departments and items to feel fresh. Give this hidden object/time management hybrid a chance and download the demo - I doubt you'll regret it.

If you were to smoosh together the FlatOut series of demolition racing games and Nadeo's TrackMania stunt-racing franchise, then systematically vacuum out all of the most appealing aspects of both titles, you'd have the basic equivalent of Crashday. It's not that the game is terrible, but so little of it feels genuine or original; it's more of a cheap, hacked-together clone of the aforementioned titles. And what's more, it isn't even a particularly good clone. The game's race modes lack coherency--let alone excitement--and the stunt and combat modes fall flat.

There's supposed to be a premise to Crashday, but it's anyone's guess as to what it is exactly. Booting up the game's career mode simply drops you right into the middle of a backstory that features up-and-coming racers in some cockamamie imaginary racing league. But the text doesn't explain much, and the guy doing the voice acting is practically indecipherable. Imagine, if you will, a game developer tracking down the man with the thickest British accent in the world, plopping him down in front of a series of bad New York mafia movies, handing him a script, and demanding he talk exactly like the gangsters portrayed onscreen. That's how awful the voice acting is in Crashday.

Once you realize the premise is best ignored and actually jump into the game, you'll find gameplay that's just as clumsy as the voice acting. Racing in Crashday is exceedingly frustrating. Cars are a floaty, slippery mess, sliding out and crashing into random objects on a regular basis. This is an arcade racer, so no one's asking for a devout dedication to realism. But arcade or not, these cars are not fun to drive, nor do they handle well. Of course, the trick is that you have to drive especially fast because the other racers have a preternatural ability to use their speed boosts at all the right moments and will always blaze past you if you screw up. So what you end up having to do is memorize every nook and cranny of each race track just so you can figure out where to use your boost and where not to use it. Another weird thing is that the game's sense of speed isn't all that good. You definitely get the sense that your car is about to go flying out of control at any second, but the visceral thrill of high-speed racing is basically absent.

Only the stunt and combat races are slightly better than the sense of speed. Stunt modes include tracks filled with ramps, jumps, and loops, but there's a highly limited scope to the stunt track designs. The game lacks the sort of "look at how completely insane these tracks are" vibe that such games as TrackMania have all but perfected. They're not kooky or bizarre; they're just a bunch of ramps and loops. And they're not even laid out well. The bonus is that the game does include a track editor, but even its scope is limited, allowing for a few bizarre twists but not much more.

The combat modes come in a couple of forms. There are straight-up demolition races where the goal is to just slam into opponent cars over and over again until everyone has exploded but you. Then there are weapon-based modes that give you a Gatling gun and a missile launcher so you can go nuts. These are, by far, the most entertaining modes in the game because, in stark contrast to the driving physics, the game's crash physics aren't half bad. Cars break apart pretty nicely, and the weapons aren't hard to aim or use, which makes wanton destruction a fairly painless process. The main issue here is the limited array of tracks and weapons. It would be nice if there were more variety to the destruction at hand. But sadly there isn't, and after a few plays against the computer, the action does get a bit tiresome.

Multiplayer would theoretically remedy that issue, but even the multiplayer isn't without problems. The primary problem is that there's nobody online to play against. Sure, the servers list lots of games being played, but they're all being played across the pond by players in Europe. And the European version of the game isn't compatible with the US version for some reason. So you won't be able to play against any of them until Moonbyte patches one version or the other. We spent a considerable amount of time trying to find a US-based opponent but only found one playable online match during that entire span. To make matters worse, lag practically wrecked the experience. Trying to play a crash race while cars skip and jump all over the track is just about the most obnoxious thing you'll ever experience.

Apart from the awful voice acting, the remainder of Crashday's production value is bit more laudable. As mentioned previously, the crash effects are done quite nicely, and the cars deform and explode about as well as you would hope. The car models aren't exactly impressive, but considering you're just thrashing them over and over again, they don't need to look pristine. The tracks are easily the weakest point of the visuals. The background environments are extremely generic, dressed up with bland-looking towns and set pieces, as well as unattractive textures. They're not hideous, but they're definitely not pleasing to the eye.

Of course, someone could try to justify the plain-Jane gameplay and total lack of originality found in Crashday by simply mentioning that it's only a $20 game. Do you want to know how much a new copy of FlatOut 2 costs on the PC? Yes, that's right, $20. And a copy of TrackMania: Sunrise? It's the same price. Do yourself a favor and go right to the sources of Crashday's inspiration rather than pay for a bargain-basement, bush-league version of the same basic gameplay concepts.
