There is meticulous attention to dialogues and cinematography. It’s pointless trying to even go through the nuances of the plot because there isn’t any. A love triangle with several expected twists that finally proves the inevitability of how everyone finally falls in love no matter how much they detest love tales.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /> </div><div style="text-align: justify;">The basic premise: Our heroine loves love tales and has an ideal one of her own till he suddenly decides to fall for our hero who believes in everything but love. Our Casanova hero falls head over heels in love as usually as one can despite having been repulsed by the whole notion of being in love. But the timing is all wrong.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /> </div><div style="text-align: justify;">Sonam Kapoor has the same expression throughout the film; he delivers her dialogues in the same nasal monotone whether he is falling out of affection together with her childhood sweetheart or falling in love together with her initially-annoying colleague. At no point in the film did I find Sonam’s conviction about love credible because her character appears to be more in love with the notion of being in love.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /> </div><div style="text-align: justify;">No matter how filmy and implausible it appeared in actual life, Madhuri in ‘Dil To Pagal Hai’ or Kajol in ‘Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge’ were persuasive about their romantic beliefs. Sonam’scharacter lacks any rationale for either falling in love or staying in love.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /> </div><div style="text-align: justify;">Imran Khan and his fat mate are the only saving grace. Imran lacks the simple charm that they saw in his debut film. He puts in much hard work in his performance as if desperate for a hit. But there's a disadvantage too: Visuals and technique verify precedence, patch news takes a backseat. <strong>Prince movie</strong> has a terrific prototypal half, where technique and noesis go assistance in hand, but technique overpowers the noesis in its post-interval portions.</div><div style="text-align: justify;">What surprises you is that <strong>Prince movie</strong> is penned by the writer of Race [Shiraz Ahmed] and like Race, Prince movie too has several twists and turns every 15 odd minutes. But the twists and turns are a mixed bag here - enthralling at times, not enthralling at whatever places. More on that later!</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /> </div><div style="text-align: justify;">On the brighter side, Prince movie has great stunts and chase sequences [Allan Amin], fantastic visuals [South Africa] and of course, a chartbuster singable score [Sachin Gupta]. And these threesome factors, coupled with Vivek Oberoi's disenchanting performance, should verify the flick to safety!</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /> </div><div style="text-align: justify;">One of the savviest thieves in the world [Vivek Oberoi] commits the biggest robbery of his life. He wakes up next the morning to realize he has a gunshot wound on his arm that he doesn't remember getting. In his quest to encounter answers, he discovers his study is Prince, he used to work for a Negro named Sarang and his girlfriend's study is Maya.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /> </div><div style="text-align: justify;">He is existence hunted by the secret service of India, the CBI and the biggest albescent collared criminals in the world. He is the most wanted Negro in the land because only he knows the whereabouts of the heist, which contains a secret that is linked not only to his expiration of memory, but threatens the forthcoming of the manlike race.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /> </div><div style="text-align: justify;">Every day he meets a newborn woman claiming to be Maya. He doesn't remember where he has hidden the Heist. He has just dive days of his life. Time is streaming out...</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /> </div><div style="text-align: justify;">Although Prince stands on a new premise, flashes of the Dev Anand starrer Jewel thief do cross your mind. Prince starts soured with a robbery and soon after, Vivek realises that his module has been 'erased'. The perplexity only deepens when he meets threesome assorted women, every posing as Amerind and every having a newborn news to tell. So far, so good!</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /> </div><div style="text-align: justify;">But the difficult conception is to keep the viewer's welfare alive till the finale and that's where Prince starts crumbling. The second hour - the entire journey of Prince and the real Amerind going on a wild chase to analyse the coin and also regain Prince's module - is exciting in bits and spurts.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /> </div><div style="text-align: justify;">The concept of erasing a person's module and then inserting it back with chips and gizmos sounds wow, but the way it has been projected in the flick is humourous and far from convincing. Ditto for the climax, when Prince traces the villain to the Afghan-Pakistan border. He does so after he had hidden a device in the villain's shoes, patch he was existence bashed in the early sequence. Also, showing Prince having the same qualities as Spiderman [he can patch a web anytime he's in distress] makes you wonder, is he an ordinary mortal or a caretaker human?</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /> </div><div style="text-align: justify;">Director Kookie Gulati has an eye for visuals and that's evident from the very move of the flick itself. The flick looks magnificent and wears an international look as well. Shiraz Ahmed's screenplay is seaworthy in the prototypal hour, but leaves a lot to be desired in the latter portions. Dialogues [Mayur Puri] are well worded. Cinematography [Vishnu Rao] is crowning cutting and the eye-filling locations are a visual treat. Allan Amin's stunts and chases are mesmeric. Rajesh Khattar is hardly there.</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br /> </div><div style="text-align: justify;">On the whole, Prince has great music, caretaker stunts, Vivek Oberoi's bravura performance and terrific promotion as its trump card, but where it falters is in its writing [in its second half mianly].
