Visit as many of the 26 greater Sacramento, CA area museums that will be open for FREE, all day long, during the 12th Annual Sacramento Museum Day, Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010. Get in free from 10am to 4pm. All participating museums close at 5pm, with the last guests admitted at 4pm.

Experience the Capital City’s incredible wealth of art, history, science and wildlife for free, thanks to the Sacramento Association of Museums (SAM) with support by Umpqua Bank.

Be sure to visit the Museum Day Website for tips on how to visit the museums, parking and details on the FREE Museum Day shuttle. Free Shuttle Buses originate from The California Museum, located at 10th and O Streets in Downtown Sacramento. There are 4 different routes serve most of the participating museums, but not all, so check the schedule.

Free Chai? Yep! This Friday, February 12 the Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf is hosting a Chai Lovers Open House from 4 – 7pm. Visit a local Coffee Bean (not valid at Ralphs) and ask for a free 12 oz. Chai Mate, Chai Rooibos or Chai Tea Latte (one drink per customer)

The first new drink, the energizing Chai Mate Tea Latte is brewed to order and combined with steamed nonfat milk and signature vanilla powder. I confess, I’ve never had one so now it’s time for me to try one!

Count the birds in your own backyard during the Great Backyard Bird Count for some free family-friendly fun this weekend! Feb. 12 – 15, 2010.

It’s incredibly easy to have fun counting the birds! All it takes is 15 minutes, or more if you’d like! Read how simple it is to count the birds HERE.

Then look at the GBBC Website’s list of birds you’re likely to see in your area in February. Fill out the ebird count data form online or print it out, fill out then enter the information online when you’re done.

For more free fun, upload photos of birds in your backyard!

Everyone who participate is eligible to enter for “birdy” prizes everything from a bird camera to books, CDs, feeders, and more! Be sure to print out the colorful “Great Horned Owl” award to present to your kids for counting!!

Celebrate National Pancake Day with a Free short stack of pancakes from IHOP. Head out to any IHOP between 7am and 10pm Tuesday, February 23, 2010 and just ask for the short stack.

The annual promotion is not only to celebrate National Pancake Day. IHOP hopes you’ll make a donation to the Children’s Miracle Network to support kids who need medical attention.
