Desde el puesto de transmisión de demora del blanco, se detecta el desplazamiento Noroeste del conjunto de naves, como si se tratara de una manada de inmensos gigantes de metal con miles de toneladas a sus espaldas. La situación de ataque del submarino es buena, al Sureste de la posición del convoy. “El lobo acecha a su presa” pensaba el comandante mientras decide dar la orden a la tripulación para que acuda a sus puestos de combate.
Todavía resuenan en su cabeza las palabras del comandante de la flota estadounidense de submarinos del pacífico: “Los principales objetivos de los submarinos son los buques enemigos. La principal arma del submarino es el torpedo; sus armas secundarias son las minas y la artillería”. Sin más dilación, ocupa todas las plazas del compartimiento de torpedos frontal con tripulantes experimentados en la materia. Vacía el compartimiento trasero de torpedos, tiene claro su ataque, “el premio es el buque insignia”. Se aproxima al blanco despacio, para evitar que los escoltas puedan detectarle. Aprovecha su punto flaco, la parte trasera de los escoltas con sus enormes hélices haciendo ruido al girar para impulsar el barco, hace inservibles sus hidrófonos para la detección de submarinos. Tras observar unos minutos la situación y contrastar la experiencia que dan los años en el combate, se dijo a sí mismo, “ahora sé que no me oís y lo que es mejor, no me veis”.

Se podía cortar la tensión dentro del submarino, cada tripulante permanece atento y en silencio sobre su puesto de combate. Se aproximan al flanco del buque insignia, a 900 metros de distancia formando un ángulo de 45º con cualquier lado de la demora (dirección que tomará el buque) del barco. Está planeando “machacar” su proa o su costado. Aunque sabe que tras lanzar el torpedo, casi seguro que serán detectados, se reafirma en que ya será tarde para el enemigo. Los impactos destruirán su casco y causarán tantos daños que en la confusión, sumergiéndose a 50 metros de profundidad, “a salvo” de las cargas de profundidad, podrá huir realizando una maniobra evasiva en “zigzag” a toda máquina, habiendo dejado hundida su presa.

Réaliste et jouissif sur next-gen, sans réel intérêt sur Wii, FIFA fait aussi son arrivée sur PC et PS2, deux titres développés par la même équipe. Des versions current-gen qui se présentent sous la forme d'une grosse mise à jour qui profite finalement peu du renouveau opéré sur Xbox 360 et PS3. La preuve que l'avenir de la série ne se situe pas sur ces supports. Pas sur PS2 tout du moins.

Ancient Rome and, more specifically, Roman gladiators have always made interesting subject matter for various mediums of entertainment. Throughout the years, numerous films, including the Academy Award-winning classics Ben Hur and Gladiator, featured some of the most epic gladiatorial action sequences every created and made heroes out of these enslaved Roman warriors.

Strangely enough, however, there haven't been many good action games to feature Roman gladiators in any really serious capacity.

Recently, this has all come to change, thanks to Acclaim's Gladiator: Sword of Vengeance, an action adventure game rooted deeply in a style that combines Ridley Scott's Gladiator with some of the more mythical aspects of Roman history.

Gladiator does have some shortcomings, as its simplistic and frequently flawed gameplay can prove to be problematic. However, some excellent production values and an intriguing plot ultimately make the game most certainly worth checking out.
