If this is your case,please just follow the steps below:
1. Remove the casing of the phone,it's very easy to do this with nokia phones; if you don't use a nokia phone,then gently unscrew while holding the panel carefully

2. Bring out the panel and gently clean with methylated spirit.

3. Keep in the sun to dry for about five to ten minutes

4. Assemble it again and turn it on, this should definitely do it.
