This script was built ground-up and will soon be included at scriptiny where all my scripts will be added as they are updated, debugged and incorporated in the new TINY namespace.

Want to display images as an automatic slideshow that can also be explicitly played or paused by the user?

Simple Controls Gallery rotates and displays an image by fading it into view over the previous one, with navigation controls that pop up when the mouse rolls over the Gallery. They allow the user to play/pause, or step through to a specific image within the gallery.

Last but not least, the gallery supports persistence of the last viewed image via session cookies, so going away then coming back to the gallery calls up the last viewed image within a browser session.

The images within the Gallery should all be the same size for best results.

Based on the look of Suckerfish HoverLightbox, this one uses my multi-page layout system but includes images instead of text.

Unlike the Suckerfish HoverLightbox this version does not use javascript but is pure CSS and still works in IE.

I shouldn’t have to explain this, but… for those of you who think that flowers are those things with petals etc .. they’re not. Crossword fans like me will know that they are things that flow … like rivers. Sorry for the misunderstanding ;o)

Just hover over the tabs to display a page of images. Hover over each image to see a 2x image and finally, on the Portraits and Landscapes, click the image to open a new window showing the 640 x 480 pixel version.

Tested in IE5.5, IE6, IE7, Opera, Firefox, Safari (PC).

What’s this? slideViewer is a lightweight (1.5Kb) jQuery plugin wich allows to instantly create an image gallery by writing just few lines of HTML such as an unordered list of images.

slideViewer checks for the number of images within your list, and dinamically creates a set of links to command (slide) you pictures.

You can optionally customize the kind of animation and its duration and also enhance(*) the default tooltips with some fancy tooltips.

You don’t need to specify the width and height for your images (but all the images within a single gallery must have the same width/height!) because slideViewer automatically checks for the size and renders accordingly. But if you can’t live without declaring your images size, slideViewer will use your declared dimensions. Pretty flexible.
