Lim Teng Zui is a WAS technician who is a single father to a young girl named Xiao Mei. He is employed by the director of WAS' Events and Promotion department, Tanya Chew. Tanya stays in a condominium and has a single mother, a blogger whom she has neglected. He has drawn little salary, and strives hard to earn more so that he can buy her a piano and original abalone. Alan Lui, the CEO of WAS, briefs Lau Chee Hong, Eric Tan and Uncle Tiong about Minister Seetoh accompanying China's Minister of Manpower, Mr. Chen and his delegates will be visiting the department.

In an effort to prepare for the VIP visit, they decide to put the things outside temporarily. However, during a Chinese minister's visit, Lim's poor work ethics, combined with his incompetence causes the minister to fall during a photoshoot when the wall gives way due to the use of masking tapes instead of nails. An investigation is carried out, and 'finger-pointing' is done to find the scapegoat, in which Lim is blamed. As a result, his bonus is cut, and Lim stems his anger toward Tanya. Their confrontation leads into a car chase in which he chases Ms. Chew's 1998 Seat Toledo in his Citroën Berlingo until the vehicles collide, causing both to run off the flyover and fall down to the beach.

The duo are knocked unconscious due to this resulting accident, and are sent to the hospital. There, they are in critical condition, but amazingly, both recovers, but Lim wakes up and finds out that he is in Tanya's body. Whereas Tanya is in her employee's body. They are forced to accept into living in each other's roles and work under their respective bodies' occupation. "Lim" upgrades her/his skills as a technician, while "Tanya" idles around, performing poorly in his/her capacity as a department director.

Due to "Tanya"'s negligence, the department grossly overspends and the CEO, together with Chee and Eric, two department heads who had been offended by Tanya earlier, plans to shut down the department. In an attempt to save the department from closure, Tanya and Lim plan to put on a successful Job Fair Exhibition so that the CEO would think twice about shutting it down. Tanya and Lim try ways of getting publicity, but red tape and lack of information gets in their way and they would have to wait at least three months to be able to do anything. However, it proceeds smoothly, and Tanya hires a pyrotechnics operator, who is actually a demolition expert. After a series of trials and tribulations, the Job Fair is realized.

During the fair, Chee and Eric attempt to sabotage the Fair, but Tanya and Lim repaired quickly by means of masking tape. Tanya and Lim deal with the obstacles as they come until the final sing-along session on stage, with the Minister. However, the stage catches fire as the planned pyrotechnics, combined with the pyrotechnic launcher's disobedience and the direction of the launching cannon towards the curtain. Having trapped in the ensuing utter chaos, the people dash about the stage in every direction, finding a way out. The Minister finally finds an escape route when a taped board falls off. Many of them have run down without any single casualty, and thus the situation is under control. As the Civil Defense firefighters arrive on the scene to put out the fires, Tanya rescues Lim's daughter.

A board of inquiry looks into the actions during the fire. During the 2007 National Creativity Award ceremony, Lim was awarded for his use of masking tapes to save 53 lives and his initiative to invent a fire escape wall. Two months later, the statutory board has folded as WAS shuts down. Uncle Tiong retires because of his heart attack. Eric is sacked and has his pension (CPF) confiscated when their plot is discovered. Chee becomes the first director in history to receive pink slip for skills obsolete. The CEO is blacklisted for making too many mistakes, but later establishes the Minced Pork Organisation, only to be dissolved months later.

Lim and Tanya, having going in their separate ways other than working, decide to re-enact the accident in an attempt to switch back to their original bodies. They start their same vehicles and drive off at the same time and place, doing the same collison. As the credits roll, Lim and Tanya's attempts are revealed to be unsuccessful, but they still marry.

Synopsis
A pet chameleon (Johnny Depp) becomes accidentally stranded in the Mojave Desert after his terrarium falls from his owner's car. After meeting an armadillo named Roadkill (Alfred Molina), who is seeking the mystical Spirit of the West, he narrowly avoids being eaten by a red-tailed hawk. The next day, after having a surreal nightmare, he meets desert iguana Beans (Isla Fisher), a rancher's daughter, who takes him to Dirt, an Old West town populated by desert animals.
Beans discovers that the water reserves, stored in a water-cooler bottle in the bank, are dangerously low. At the Gas Can Saloon, the chameleon, using bravado and improvisation to fit in, presents himself as Rango (after taking his name from the last part of the word Durango), a tough drifter. He quickly runs afoul of outlaw Bad Bill (Ray Winstone), narrowly avoiding a shootout when the hawk returns, scaring Bill. The hawk chases Rango until by luck Rango kills the predator by crushing it under an empty water tower that he accidentally caused to collapse. In response, the Mayor (Ned Beatty) appoints Rango the new sheriff. A skeptical Beans demands Rango investigate the water problem while the townsfolk worry that the hawk was the only thing keeping gunslinger Rattlesnake Jake from returning to terrorize them.
That night, Rango inadvertently gives some mole and prairie dog robbers the location of the bank and tools to break into the vault. When the townsfolk find their water stolen, Rango organizes a posse that finds the bank manager, Mr. Merrimack (Stephen Root), dead from being drowned. They eventually track the robbers to their mountain hideout, only for their leader, Balthazar (Harry Dean Stanton), to reveal that his clan of moles, prairie dogs and other such subterranean animals greatly outnumbers the posse. Nabbing the covered wagon water-bottle, the posse flees, chased in a ground and air fight before discovering the bottle is empty. Despite the robbers professing that they'd discovered it empty, the posse returns them to town for trial.
After Rango and Beans deduce that the Mayor has been buying all the nearby land around, Rango recalls the mayor telling him how controlling water equals control of everything. He confronts the mayor, who denies he has done anything wrong and shows Rango that he is building a modern city on the old land. With no proof of the mayor's wrongdoing, Rango leaves, while the mayor, seeing that Rango is close to figuring out what his true plans are, orders Bad Bill to call Rattlesnake Jake (Bill Nighy), who soon arrives, firing shots with his gatling gun tail. Recognizing that Rango is a fake, Jake runs him out of town after humiliating him and making him admit that everything he told the town about himself is a lie.
Ashamed and no longer knowing who he is, Rango wanders the desert and, in a daze, meets the Spirit of the West (Timothy Olyphant), a cowboy whom Rango calls the Man with No Name. The Spirit inspires Rango and tells him, "No man can walk out on his own story". With the aid of Roadkill and mystical moving cacti, Rango learns the source of Dirt's water is Las Vegas and that someone has shut off a water line. Realizing the mayor's hand in this, Rango recruits the hill clan in his plan.
Returning to town, he calls out Jake for a duel with a single bullet — a diversion so that the hill folk and the cacti can flood the town with water, causing a water geyser that allows Balthazar, Ezekiel and Jedidiah to escape. The mayor threatens Beans' life, forcing Rango to surrender. With Rango and Beans locked in the glass-bottle bank vault to drown, the mayor tries to shoot Jake with Rango's gun, only to discover it is empty. Inside the bottle, Beans kisses Rango but chokes on the bullet, which he had hidden in his mouth. When he performs the Heimlich Maneuver on her, she spits it out with enough force to crack the glass and shatter the vault. Acknowledging Rango as a worthy opponent, Jake grabs the mayor and drags him into the desert. The citizens of Dirt celebrate the return of the water and recognize Rango as their hero.
Throughout the film, a mariachi band of burrowing owls are shown singing and narrating about Rango's story. Their interaction primarily consists of breaking the fourth wall in the process of narration, although they occasionally interact with the main characters as well.

Synopsis
In Brazil, wildlife trade is common, and several types of exotic birds get smuggled to different countries. Tyler Blu Gunderson, a male blue macaw who has been smuggled from Rio de Janeiro, lives in the suburb of Moose Lake, Minnesota with his owner Linda Gunderson. Blu is constantly ridiculed by local animals due to his inability to fly.
One day, Brazilian ornithologist Túlio Monteiro asks for Blu to be taken to Rio, telling Linda that Blu is the last male of his species and he must mate with another blue macaw in Brazil. Túlio, Linda, and Blu are flown to Rio, where Blu meets a Red-crested Cardinal named Pedro and his Yellow Canary friend Nico. Blu is taken to Túlio's aviary, and falls in love with Jewel, a female blue macaw who desperately longs to escape into the wilderness. Blu and Jewel are captured by a boy named Fernando and a Sulphur-crested Cockatoo named Nigel, both of whom work for a group of smugglers led by Marcel. Nigel tells the macaws that he was once a popular performer on a television program and vows to capture and smuggle exotic birds for being replaced by a parakeet on the program. Blu and Jewel flee from Nigel and the smugglers, ending up in a jungle.
Meanwhile, Fernando realizes his error and asks Linda and Túlio to find Blu. The macaws meet a Toco toucan named Rafael, who offers to take them to his bulldog friend Luiz to remove a chain connected to their legs. He also tries to teach Blu how to fly, before the three meet Pedro and Nico. Nigel hires a horde of thieving marmosets led by Mauro to capture Blu and Jewel. Pedro and Nico take Blu and Jewel to a bird's Rio-style funk dance party, where they perform a duet, but are attacked by the marmosets. Their bird friends, including a Roseate Spoonbill named Kipo, fight them, allowing the five to escape. Linda and Túlio, with Fernando's help, are taken to the smugglers hideout. While there, Marcel explains that he will use the Carnaval festival to kidnap Blu and Jewel.
Meanwhile, Blu and the others meet Luiz. Luiz manages to release the chain holding Blu and Jewel using his drool. Blu gets into an argument with Jewel, and they decide to go their separate ways. However, Nigel manages to capture Jewel. Blu, Rafael, Pedro and Nico conceive a rescue plan on Jewel, while Linda and Túlio initiate their rescue plan on the birds.
While Linda and Túlio pose as dancers at the Carnaval, Marcel puts his plan into action, using Nigel to capture the birds before taking them to his Short SC.7 Skyvan. Blu and Jewel help to free the rest of the birds. However, Nigel attacks the macaws, injuring Jewel's wing and pinning Blu. Nigel is sucked into the aircraft's engine, and the smugglers flee. The injured Jewel falls out of the plane, but Blu dives off to save her. They kiss in midair, and Blu finally discovers that he is able to fly. Some time later, Linda, Túlio and Fernando set up a sanctuary to protect the jungle from smugglers. Blu and Jewel raise three chicks together and reunite with their bird friends in the jungle, Nigel is ridiculed for his loss of feathers, and the smugglers are sent to jail.

It is Dug's birthday. This Golden Retriever wishes that it will be the happiest day of this life, when suddenly, a huge prehistoric female bird (Kevin) runs over him and Alpha (a Doberman Pinscher), Beta (a Rottweiler) and Gamma (aBulldog) run into Dug. Irritated with Dug getting in their way, they come up with "special missions" for Dug to help capture the bird. However, these are just ploys to keep Dug out of their way. Alpha assigns Dug to watch a large rock and make sure it doesn't move, because it is "the bird's favorite rock". Dug accidentally causes a pebble to roll down an incline and topple the large boulder, which nearly crushes Alpha, Beta and Gamma. He is then told to sit and wait in "the bird's favorite hole". After the three dogs leave him there, it turns out to have quicksand in it. Dug falls through it and ends up falling on top of the three dogs right as they are stalking the bird.

Dug is then assigned to sit on a rock. When Dug jumps onto a rock, following Alpha's orders, Alpha, Beta, Gamma and the rock they're standing on all start to fall. Numerous scenes follow of Alpha, Beta and Gamma getting caught or captured by traps intended for Kevin, due to actions of Dug as a result of commands given to him by Alpha. The trio is scooped up in a net; then they are shot with darts, one of which hits Beta, knocking him out. Dug then runs in a pile of rocks as Alpha, Beta and Gamma chase after him. The rocks fall down and Alpha screams.

In pain and anger, Alpha contacts Charles Muntz in his airship to report that Dug has caused them "to not capture the bird" and that he is a "bad dog". Dug, feeling dismayed, suddenly sees Muntz's Spirit of Adventure blimp in the sky. Fearful of Muntz and emotionally hurt, Dug runs off. Gamma and Beta talk to Dug by radio and comment on how he is "gonna get it now"; Beta sarcastically wishes Dug a happy birthday. Sad and lonely, Dug runs off into a mist-laden rocky area. He sees a rock that resembles a turtle, followed by one that looks like a man. When he hears a voice, he asks if the man is okay. Dug then realizes that he has received his birthday wish: a new master (Carl Fredrickson). The clouds clear, the sun comes out and Dug sits proudly on a flat rock. Russell notices him and briefly thinks Dug is a rock. After the credits roll, Dug says "Hi there!" to Carl and Russell; the short ends with Carl and Russell gasping in shock.
