The slot count is conserved. Winning isn’t about being good in the abstract. It’s about taking a specific competitor’s seat.

OpenAI started testing ads inside ChatGPT on Feb 9. Six weeks later, the pilot was already running at $100M+ annualized, with a $2.5B target for 2026.

That makes paid placements a visibility layer you can't ignore. A user asking ChatGPT about your category now sees a sponsored brand placed right below the answer, in the moment they decide what to click.

ChatGPT ads tracking is now live inside Writesonic. To see it:

Open the All Answers page
Click the filter button
Choose Ads → Triggered

You'll see every tracked prompt where a sponsored placement appeared, which brand won it, and how paid presence maps against your organic visibility on the same prompt.

Google AI Overviews ads are tracked in the same view, so you can compare how Google and OpenAI monetize the same prompts side by side.

One caveat: ad volume is still low. OpenAI is rolling this out slowly, mostly US-only. What you see this month is a floor. Watch how it moves week over week.
