ATTENTION: ALL MIAMI BEACH TEENAGE MUSICIANS, DANCERS, AND SINGERS

Arts at St. Johns (ASJ) is looking for talented teenagers (13- 19) to make their presence known and their voice heard.
This is a time for LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Questioning) youth to have a performance platform to speak out and make a difference in the ongoing struggle for equality and acceptance in their families, communities and nation.

ASJ has created the 1st ever Miami Beach LGBTQ Youth Performance Ensemble to showcase their voice, dance, and talent! It doesn't matter what's your race, gender, sexual orientation, or economic demographic.

Every teenager from Miami Beach is welcome!

The teens in this project will participate in the Miami Beach Pride Parade and give their first performance at Miami Beach Pride -- all on April 15th, 2012!

Don't wait until it's too late!! Auditions will be Feb. 15th at 6pm
at St. Johns on the Lake, 4760 Pine Tree Dr., Miami FL 33140.

Be prepared to sing, dance, or play your instrument and to tell us why this project means so much to you!
Invite your talented friends too!
Rehearsals will start Feb. 17th in the evening!

Bruce and Nancy Moreland like to spend their time exploring nature. Nancy is a wildlife and nature photographer. Bruce takes videos and helps mat and frame her creations. Their vision is to connect people with nature, to protect threatened and endangered species and the natural environment, and to inspire people to visit their state and national parks.

Nancy and Bruce's photography will be at the Doc Thomas House for the month of February. 30% of the pieces sold will benefit Tropical Audubon.

Come out on Friday, February 10th to Bayfront Park as the DWNTWN Miami Concert Series teams up with Sweat Records to bring you some amazing local talents on the indie pop scene!

Tristan Clopet kicks off the festivities with songs from his latest LP that are a tour-de-force of clever songwriting, lush harmonies and dancing rhythms.

Next up Jacob Jeffries, hailed as a super singer-songwriter-keyboardist, and his band showcase their piano driven rock and roll that is bursting with hook-filled melodies and dramatic, instantlylikable vocals.

Last, but certainly not least, Rachel Goodrich brings her eclectic blend of vaudeville-inspired indie pop and swing-jazz to the downtown stage.

“The Indie Film Club of Miami is ecstatic to partner with Wine by the Bay for our monthly wine and cinema series. Great films paired with great wine are a match made in heaven, like a ragout of exotic wild mushrooms and Saint-Estephe Bordeaux or Woody Allen and Manhattan,” remarks event organizer, Diliana Alexander.

Alexander hopes to continue regularly holding this free event at Wine by the Bay, allowing the organization to bring to the public a thematically curated evening, paired with the right wine and nibblers. “Indulge your senses, explore your heart, and expand your palette,” she concludes.

Recently opened, Wine by the Bay is a retail wine boutique that hosts regular wine tastings and an ever-changing art exhibition. The store provides a selection suitable for all tastes and budgets. Owner and gallerist, Stefano Campanini (who also owns Etra Fine Art in the Design District) plans to regularly host events such as poetry readings, film screenings, and lectures that showcase local artists.

No need to travel to Spain for La Tomatina Tomato Fight Festival; Miami’s Oldest Bar, Tobacco Road is bringing it to Brickell! On Saturday, February 11th festivities will begin at 12 noon with food & drink specials, and of course a dump truck delivery of 25,000 tomatoes, ripe for flying through the air. For those less brave or unwilling to get sauced, a safety zone will be set up for spectators to enjoy all the action.

Every year since 1957 1,000’s of people join together in Bunol, Spain to participate in the traditional La Tomatina festival. Around 150,000 tomatoes, which equals out to be over 90,000 pounds are smashed and participants from all over the world begin this crazy traditional Tomato fight that lasts an hour long.
