I keep seeing where hijacking, vulnerabilities, infections, etc., of various applications are prevalent. The latest one is another IE vulnerability; among other things. I believe there is a manual work-around for IE but no patch has been issued. I have IE8 installed. I use primarily Firefox (v3.6.13). My question is this ... am I still vulnerable to attach(s) although I do not use IE8; or whichever application may be installed on my computer? Thanks and good work!

How customize the appearance of status bar of your iPhone

Now with a new tweak named as CleanStatus from Cydia, users will be able to clean or tweak them based on own preference, freeing up some limited space that you have on iOS devices.

For the start, just head over to Cydia (assuming that you already have your iPhone jailbroken).
On the main screen, tap on ‘Search’ and key in ‘CleanStatus’ and start the searching.
You will notice the utility appeared in the list and tap on ‘Install’ to install the app into your iOS devices.

By now, you should be able to find a new configuration with the name of ‘CleanStatus’ under Settings for toggling selections. For instances, under the setting menu, there are Clock/Date, Signal Strength, Data Network, Carrier Name, Battery Performance, Rotation Lock and many more and simply toggle the desired one will activate the respective status icon for viewing. Take note that toggling ON will disable the icon whereas OFF will enable the icon.

While it doesn’t seem to help users much except customizing the appearance of your iOS devices’ status bar, but this is no doubt a simple tweak that can make your iOS devices look different from the rest. Every device which can connect to the public internet has a unique assigned Internet Protocol (IP) address, often this is tracked by websites that you visit and often even published in forums and on blog posts for purposes of transparency and to prevent trolling or spamming. The IP address is essential in fighting online crime or other misbehaviour, although it is possible to change your IP address should you wish. An IP address consists of four numbers separated by periods, this is often referred to as a dotted-quad, and looks something like this: 123.45.67.8.

Normally numbers are assigned to internet service providers within region based blocks, allowing some programs such as statistics tracking to identify your location. If you have ever used Google Analytics you will see that it is possible to analyse the geographical locations of your traffic, I know for example that the majority of my traffic is from America whilst the UK is second and nobody has ever visited me from Uganda.

Find Your IP Address

There are several ways to find your IP address within a matter of seconds, the easiest is to simply visit a dedicated website who will tell you your IP, ISP (Internet Service Provider) and details of your connection. One such website is whatismyipaddress.com who will even perform a free analysis to help you determine whether you appear on any 'blacklists' of anti-spam databases.

Apparently my IP address is blacklisted on 5 of the near 100 databases analysed, something which I find incredible since I have only had this IP for 3 weeks and haven't spammed anybody in that period! Perhaps an IP change is in order soon! Another such site is find-ip-address.org which on their blacklist check gave me a risk value of '0', the lowest possible (good to know).

I guess that I have told you all that you need to know now! There are other ways to find your IP, but why would you need them if you have just been given the easiest and quickest method? If you need to find the IP address of your router, which are often generic dependent on brand, then you should google the make and model of your router to find this out.

The vast majority of people in Indonesia use kerosene for all their energy requirements. Kerosene or paraffin oil is a colourless flammable liquid usually used for fuel. Kerosene is made from petroleum, it is used mainly for cooking and lighting.

Kerosene is widely used as a major subsidized fuel for household cooking (9.9 Million KL, over 60 % of 230 millions population, 4 billion USD/year). Government subsidies are used to reduce the cost of a fuel to encourage its use. These subsidies policy becomes counterproductive as they are expensive for the government and eating up significant portions of the national budget because the kerosene demand is getting increase and becomes highly subsidized, On 2008 the Kerosene subsidy estimated reach up to 7 Billion USD and tend to increase in the upcoming years.

The energy conversion is one of the Government efforts to reduce subsidized fuel consumption, The launching of energy conversion from kerosene to LPG has officially commenced the government program to convert kerosene consumption to LPG for domestic use. By the conversion, budget for subsidized fuel is expected to reduce considering that subsidy for 1 kg LPG (of 1.7 liter kerosene energy equivalent) is lower than subsidy for kerosene. In three or four years ahead, 80 % of kerosene consumption is expected to convert to LPG - current kerosene consumption reaches ±10 million KL/ year.

The Government’s kerosene conversion program has been considered a success as more than 5.3 million households across the country stopped using kerosene this year, state oil and gas company Pertamina said, the program had saved the company Rp 5.32 trillion in fuel subsidies between 2007 and 2008. Pertamina has finished 'for low-income families' program and distributed more than 1.9 million units of gas stoves and LPG cylinders. This actually represented the new slogan "Kerja Keras Adalah Energi Kita".

Up to now, the program has covered 13 provinces where 6.3 million kiloliters of subsidized kerosene has been withdrawn, while 1.9 million tons of LPG have been distributed. Pertamina managed to save on the conversion program worth Rp20 trillion, and after being deducted with conversion cost valued at Rp9.3 trillion, the net money saved on the program is Rp10.7 trillion.

Pertamina also received the most prestigious Government Award of Indonesia "Dharma Karya Energi Dan Sumber Daya Mineral Madya" for the achievement to the successfulness of the Kerosene to LPG Conversion Program. We finally found that the Pertamina's "Kerja Keras Adalah Energi Kita" takes place at the moment.

Kerosene to LPG Program Conclusion:

LPG conversion program will dramatically change the energy landscape in Indonesia, in which LPG demand will reach 4.098.570 Mton/year in year 2010.
By year 2010 Indonesia will import LPG a 1.782.130 Mton/year, while 2.316.440 Mton will be produced by domestic producers.
Using LPG will save up to Rp. 100.000,- (US$ 11) per month for household consumers and create better life, faster, cleaner, and friendlier.
