So I just finished Battlefield Bad Company 2 (EA / DICE) for the second time…But! I played on the highest level on this time. I finished it in about 5 days (on the highest difficulty level) so once again… DON”T F*#KING BUY IT… RENT IT! Unless your a fan of the multi-player online thing (which I am not a huge fan of). It was definitely more challenging (of course), and I may even recommend playing through for your first time at this level. Here’s a couple of tips for you geeks out there:

1) Always have an automatic weapon, preferably with a good laser site. The shot guns are all good and fine (and definitely do plenty of damage), but only in close combat. It is always best to stay covered, aim and shoot in short pluses.

2) Always have an RPG. This weapon will come in handy in many situations. Not only can you take out armored vehicles and Helicopters, but you can also blast holes in rooftops, taking out any snipers.

3) The sniper rifle comes in handy sometimes… So use it! When you come upon a weapons drop, you may want to drop your RPG and grab the sniper rifle for a bit. If you can take out a bunch of enemies from the safety of a rooftop… Do it! On several of the missions you can hold up from several thousand feet away and pick off all the enemy soldiers with out having to face them in close combat.

4) Use your grenades! Grenades are awesome! You can take out several enemy soldiers at a time with just one grenade. Fire fights that seem overwhelming can become more manageable with a couple well placed grenades.

5) Check your map. You need to keep checking the map in the lower left side of the screen for ammo and special weapons. Ammo and especially grenades are essential for combat.

Well… I finished Battlefield Bad Company 2 (EA / DICE), and yes once again it was pretty f*#kin’ short. It took me about four sittings to finish (13 missions / about 14 hours)… But I expected that! I don’t know why I don’t join gamefly… I’m such a dumb f*#k! Oh well… I’ll go back and play on the hardest skill level and try and get my money worth. Anyways… enough belly aching and on with the game review.

So, as I said in the last post the story is a little different than in BBC 1.***SPOILER ALERT*** for all you fanboys!!! This installment is actually about a lost super weapon that the Japanese invented back in WW II. Apparently it gets into the wrong hands and Bad Company has to retrieve it before they use it on the USA. Bottom line…the story was not as cool as BBC 1. I liked that your unit went rogue in search of some dudes gold… that was f*#kin cool. So the story sucks.
The game play, graphics and sound were just like the first game, which was a good thing. I really like the many weapons you get to use in the game. You learn quick which weapons work best in certain situations. Personally, I liked the M-60 S… basically an M-60 machine gun with a kick ass scope. Use this gun (aiming with the scope) in single bullet bursts and it’s one deadly f*#king weapons in the game.

Here’s the bottom line… If you liked Battlefield Bad Company 1 you’ll like the game play on part 2… but… the story is nominal and had no impact on the game. It’s purely just completing missions and killing the bad guys with the same characters as the first game. If you want to try this game… RENT IT! It’s not worth the 60 bucks… but is definitely worth the rental.

I’ve been playing for a couple of days now and I now remembered what I liked about BBC 1 immediately. The weapons, vehicles, graphics, sound, characters even the musical score. The only difference is the story. I really liked how BBC 1 was a lot like the movie “Kelly’s Heros” which was a war/bank heist movie. So far I’m having fun with the game, but I have the advantage having played BBC 1. I’ll keep you guys in the loop… I hope it doesn’t suck.

I apologize for taking so long to get back to you , but I had to work… Yes work! Contrary to popular belief, I don’t weigh 900 lbs. and I don’t live in my parents basement (and yes I have gotten laid…you asshole)!

So I played through BioShock 2 for the second time, and as I said in my last post I wanted to see the alternate ending…so I played as a bad guy. I killed every f*#king moving thing in sight and I harvested all the little sisters I could find. I felt like f*#king Darth F*#king Vader! It was GREAT! Ha ha ha haaaaaaaaaa (I apologize for being a dork-waad).

It did actually make a difference in the game, especially when it comes to obtaining more Adam and purchasing more Plasmids. You become more powerful at a quicker pace… not to mention by the end of the game you will have purchased almost all plasmids (fully upgraded) and Tonics. Also, being my second time through, I actually found new areas to explore that I missed my first time through. This came in very handy, especially when there were supplies in the room.
I also fine tuned my skills. As I posted while I was playing through, there are some important techniques that I used to help me through the game. Always have back up (when you can)! What I mean is get some Security Bots to back you up. One easy way to do this is when you find a Security-Bot shut off switch, go trip an alarm (close by) purposely (whether it’s hacking a vending machine, setting off a security sensor or hacking a safe). Then run to the Bot shut off switch (make sure the Bots are near by) and shut them down! The bots will drop to the ground, allowing you to hack those bitches and make them your own personal body guards (by the way the game only allows you to use 2 of them at one time). Also, the Control Plasmid along with purchasing the Hacking and Shorten Alarm Tonics that all help the cause.
So I won’t spoil the alternate ending… for all of you who wanna try yourself…but honestly… it was more about the journey than the ending for me. I really enjoyed playing as a bad guy, mainly for the massive amounts of Adam you can acquire in the process. Now… the next stop for me is… stepping up to the next difficulty level. I’ll get back to you later. I got some gaming to do (I’m a f*#king geek).

Just finished BioShock 2 last night, and I have to say… 2K Marin, you kick ass! Here’s my review…

From the moment I started the game I was brought back into an all familiar twisted world. I found that I actually missed Rapture. The great artwork and crazy characters… creepy sound deign and music. What a treat boys and girls (eieeew… I sounded like Mr. Rogers)! Not only was this game as good as the first one, but they even improved some things. Great new characters, weapons, tonics, plasmids and environments. I really like how they kept it much the same as the first game but made it more challenging in certain areas.
The game will actually force you to adopt Little Sisters and harvest Adam from dead Splicers. It will actually tell you that you haven’t harvested enough Adam and your gonna get your ass kicked because you’re ill equipped plasmid wise (you need Adam to get Plasmids…remember?). Now here’s the catch when your little sister is harvesting Adam, the Splicers and Big Daddies will come out of the wood work… just to kill your ass, and you need to protect your little sister! It’s a hell of a battle each time you harvest… and you have no choice but to try and survive the sh*t storm…or you’ll have to start it all over again.
I like that they changed up the “hacking” process. Not that I didn’t like what they had in the first version, but it was nice that it was different. There were also some additional tonics to improve your hacking abilities, but if you f*#k up… you still get to face two angry Security Bots that are ready to fill your ass full of lead.
The addition of the Brute Splicers and the dreaded Big Sisters were genius. The Brute Splicer is like a Splicer on steroids, and will kill your ass faster than a Big Daddy. They are always pissed off and ready for a brawl… you definitely don’t want to face one with out a sh*tload of ammo and Eve. Although it’s fun to hit them with the Hypno Plasmid and let them go f*#king nut’s on other Splicers or Big Daddies. The Big Sister is another nightmare. They usually come out when you have cleared a level or If you hang out too long. First you hear this bone chilling screech that shakes the the room, then your f*#ked. The Big Sister is relentless… and will kill you quick.
Weapons wise… wow… you got a f*#kin’ huge drill! The melee attack with this drill is devastating, but you can run out of fuel pretty quick with out an up-grade. The spear gun is pretty cool and has some pretty useful ammo capabilities including explosive spears, but it’s slow to reload. The .50 caliber Gatling gun will tear Splicers to shreds, plus holds over 100 rounds…but ammo can go quick if your not accurate. The Hacking tool is pretty awesome… especially the miniturret rounds. Those f*#kers will do massive damage to a room full of enemies. They are very useful to lay out before your Little Sister harvests Adam, but they are not invincible and can be destroyed.
Plasmid wise there are some more options, but much are the same. I like that they made Hypnotize Big Daddy into just Hypnotize. This is really useful in battle against a group, and sneaking up in a room full of splicers or Big Daddies. Just throw it at a couple of them and sit back and enjoy… let them do all the killing. There was also the additions of Cyclone Trap, Houdini Plasmid, Aero Dash and Scout. To tell you the truth I didn’t really use them too often… maybe it’s just too many options… maybe some are more useful than others. My favorite of all was summon Elinore, which you won’t experience ’till the last level.
I highly recommend this game, especially if you are a fan of BioShock 1. If you can’t buy it, rent it. If you can’t rent it, borrow it. The game is a masterpiece in gaming. They really came up with a cool story and a new angle on the game. It took me over a week to complete it (I’m guessing around 30 hours of play), but I hear there are alternate endings so I may play through again, and harvest all the Little Sisters instead of rescuing them. I’ll be the asshole… well that’s not a stretch.

Wow… after all that…I feel the need listen to CEPHALIC CARNAGE – “Endless Cycle of Violence”

Security Bots can be quite a nuisance, but they can be useful to. If you need extra cover for an upcoming battle, tip off an alarm, use your Winter Blast Plasmid to freeze those bastard bots, then hack those Mutha F*#kers. Viola! You now have two body guards. Give it a try handsome (wow that was gay!)

1. Make sure you have at least 1 extra health pack and one Eve syringe. These are key, because you don’t wanna be lookikn’ for that sh*t in the heat of battle. You want to use your Plasmids to help defeat all the Splicers that will come out of the wood work when your Little Sister’s in mid harvest.

2. Buy Ammo! If you run out of ammo… your f*#ked. I suggest anti-personnel rounds for the .50 caliber gun… they will work great. I try and stick with one gun during the battle (unless you run out of bullets).

3. Set traps- whether it’s mini turets, proximity mines, spear traps or rivet traps. Let those traps do the work for you. I found that a combination works the best. I really like the mini turrets, but the rivet traps and proximity mines are a good combination too (if you got ‘em).

4. Use Your Plamids- My favorite Plasmid when up against a group of Splicers is the Hypno. Let the Slpicers kill each other, and do the work for you (and conserve your ammo). You can also use the Incinerate, Electro Bolt or Winter Blast… but… Winter Blast will shatter your foes when you shoot them, and you won’t be able to pick pocket the dead Splicers after the battle.

So there ya go! Choose your gun, choose you Plasmid, drop your Little Sister to harvest, put your back against a wall and wait for the fire works to happen.

I’m serious! I have a boner! I have BioShock 2(2K Marin) coming tomorrow (according to Amazon) and I HAVE WOOD ha ha ha ha ha (wow I think I’ve finally lost it).

Well the body hasn’t even gotten cold yet on Assassins Creed 2, and I’m lickin’ my chops ready for more hours of wasting my life away staring at my TV with a controller in my hands. I’ve been waiting for almost three years to get back to Rapture, and tomorrow I’m goin’ back. I’m ready to turn out the lights and get creeped out for hours at a time… wow… I used to be cool… now I’m a gaming geek. What has become of me : (
