In the high stakes battle for Hip Hop superiority, it appears that the two top money earners in the rap game – Shawn “Jay-Z” Carter and Sean "Diddy" Combs respectively – are in a quiet duel to become the first billionaires by way of their shared industry.
With various streams of revenue flowing for both savvy businessmen, some unrelated to music, the potential is vast for both men according to a recent analysis from Forbes magazine. However, another Hip Hop mogul believes he and his team will eclipse Jay-Z and Diddy in the money race all in due time.
CEO of Cash Money Records Brian “Birdman” Williams threw his and protégé Lil Wayne’s Young Money imprint names into the billionaire sweepstakes pot, defiantly stating that the YMCMB machine is well on its way to the top. “I think Young Money Cash Money would be the first billion-dollar brand in hip-hop,” said Birdman plainly in an email to Forbes referencing his label ventures. “We strong and growing every day as a brand and fast. Within the next few years we will be billionaires.”
According to Forbes numbers, Diddy is at the halfway mark with an estimated net worth of $500 million, much of that tied up in Diddy’s business ventures such as his Sean John and Enyce clothing lines along with his stake in Ciroc vodka. Jay-Z is right behind his rich pal with assets that include a lucrative $10 million dollar Live Nation deal, the 40/40 club chain, cosmetic company Carol’s Daughter and his partial ownership of the New Jersey (soon to be Brooklyn) Nets amongst other deals. Continuing the dollar tally, only Dr. Dre and 50 Cent are within range for the coveted billionaire status.

In the world of the Hollywood rom-com, though, love has a nasty habit of interfering with the best laid plans. So it proves in Friends with Benefits, a risqué romp that ends up reinforcing the very conventions it seeks to overturn.

That doesn't prevent it being a fun and feisty frolic that benefits hugely from the sassy interplay between Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis, neither of whom are hard on the eyes exactly. But it does stop it being the genre game changer it evidently wants to be, for all director Will Gluck's striving in that direction.

Fans of bright young things copping off on camera will doubtless be familiar with No Strings Attached, in which Ashton Kutcher and Natalie Portman decided to base their relationship on casual sex alone. Friends with Benefits is essentially the same movie, albeit with a few elements that never quite made it into Ivan Reitman's film: namely charm, witty one-liners and a male lead you don't immediately want to punch.

Kelly Clarkson Describes Stronger As 'Soulful'

In her nearly decade-long career, Kelly Clarkson has kicked out an album almost every two years. But if you're expecting something predictable from Clarkson's fifth studio effort, Stronger (due October 24), you're in for a surprise.

While she's not completely reinventing her sound, the former "American Idol" winner counts Prince, Sheryl Crow, Tina Turner and Radiohead among this album's big influences. Clarkson explained how you get from "Because of You" to Kid A.
"It was a lot of soulful stuff," Clarkson said. "You know what I'm saying? Like, Radiohead is alternative, but they're very soulful. And Sheryl Crow, very soulful singer/songwriter. So it's all very soulful, rhythmic pop rock."
"Oh yeah, there's a little bit of dance," Clarkson continued. "One of the songs, it's probably gonna be a single, 'What Doesn't Kill You,' it's a great song and definitely ... that's the one everybody will be jumping up and down to."
That combination of soul, rock, pop and dance is apparent in the album's lead single, the ultimate tell-off anthem "Mr. Know It All." But what are Clarkson's other top picks from the LP?
" 'You Love Me' is probably one of my favorites," Clarkson said. " 'Honestly' is another one. 'What Doesn't Kill You,' I can't wait to perform that live. We've already rehearsed it and it's so much fun. It's like this big dance anthem. That'll be the one [that's] kinda like 'Since U Been Gone,' [with] people jumping up and down to [it], and it's just kind of really inspiring, so I can't wait to perform that one."
In addition to "You Love Me" and "What Doesn't Kill You," we couldn't help but notice the frequency of the word "you" in the album's track list, with songs like "Standing in Front of You," "I Forgive You" and "You Can't Win." Add in the album's title, Stronger, and the clues are there that someone has done Kelly wrong over the past two years. Or at least that's how it seems.
"They're all different 'you's,' " Clarkson said. "There's no common, like, it wasn't like one, I didn't have a bad breakup or anything, it wasn't like that. No I just think life is about relationships, so I always write about all these different ones going on in my life and I don't really have a filter. So it's usually very [straightforward]."

Apple to add stores in booming China market

Apple plans to open its first store in Hong Kong and another in Shanghai by year's end, a spokeswoman said Tuesday, as the maker of the iconic iPhone sets its sights on the booming China market.
The US firm, which already has four stores in mainland China, is aiming to open both new locations before year's end, she said, without confirming dates.
Apple products are currently available in Hong Kong through registered dealers or online.
Some die-hard fans in China -- which has the world's largest online population with 485 million users -- queue for days to get their hands on the latest Apple products.
The craze for all things Apple has triggered widespread cloning of iPhones and iPads and in July an American blogger uncovered fake Apple stores in the southwestern Chinese city of Kunming.
Apple has said its second quarter revenue in greater China -- an area including Taiwan and Hong Kong -- reached $3.8 billion, six times that seen in the same period last year, making the region a key driver behind the company's record results.

Barcelona's Andoni Zubizarreta says club will not sign replacement for injured Ibrahim Afellay

Barcelona sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta has ruled out the possibility of signing a substitute for Ibrahim Afellay in the winter transfer window.

The Netherlands international is due to spend approximately the next six months on the sidelines after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee in Thursday's training.

With Afellay expected to feature only in the last two months of the campaign, it has been suggested that Barcelona could bring in a January replacement for the 25-year-old.

However, Zubizarreta has knocked down that scenario, telling Barca TV: 'Afellay's injury is not good news, but it is clear that the solution is in our squad and in our youth ranks.

'We are not considering signing a new player. The club doctors will analyse the case and decide his recovery time. '

The 25-year-old, who joined Barcelona from PSV in January, has made two appearances for the club this season, both as a substitute.

NTC forces assault Kadhafi hometown

Fighters for Libya's interim rulers entered Moamer Kadhafi's hometown Sirte in a surprise assault that NATO said it backed to halt brutal acts by followers of the ousted regime.
National Transitional Council (NTC) chief Mustafa Abdel Jalil said an interim government would be announced next week and that the new authorities had control over Kadhafi's internationally "banned weapons".
Misrata military council spokesman Abdel Ibrahim said seven NTC fighters were killed and 145 injured in what appeared to have been a pincer movement launched from the south and east.
Using tanks and pick-up trucks mounted with anti-aircraft guns, the NTC forces cleared away roadblocks set up by Kadhafi forces and drove toward the city centre before putting up their own defences in advanced positions.
On a beach road surrounded by craters and pock-marked buildings, a 106mm anti-tank cannon repeatedly pounded Kadhafi positions, backed by a barrage of mortars and multiple rocket-launchers.
"We are pushing them back" after a "surprise" order to attack issued by the NTC's military top brass, commander Mohammed al-Aswawi said in a radio truck monitoring units on the front.
"First we get the families out, and then the order is to attack and free Sirte," he told AFP.
"There is also an advance from the south," he added, as the Misrata Military Council said that front was being reinforced by NTC fighters who had taken part in "the liberation of Al-Jafra."
Frontline fighters in Sirte are convinced that one of Kadhafi's sons, Mutassim, is holed up in the city's southern outskirts.
"Mutassim is in there. We hear him on the radio giving orders," NTC operations commander Osama Muttawa Swehly told AFP on Saturday.
As the battle raged into the evening, another commander, Hassan Tarhar Zaluk, said NTC forces would have to resume the fight for Sirte on Sunday.
"We're going to stop for the evening. There's no light in there. We'll start again tomorrow," he said.
NTC fighters also came under heavy fire as they advanced inside Sirte's eastern gates, another AFP correspondent reported.
"Our troops went seven kilometres inside through the eastern gate and there were sporadic to sometimes heavy clashes with Kadhafi's forces," said commander Mohammed al-Marimi of the Fakriddin Sallabi Brigade.
The assault was launched after reports of a rapidly deteriorating humanitarian situation in the city of around 75,000 inhabitants.
NATO forces struck at Kadhafi forces after reports they had moved against civilians there, endangering "hundreds of families", a statement from the alliance said.
"Among the reports emerging from Sirte are executions, hostage-taking, and the calculated targeting of individuals, families, and communities within the city," it added.
Heavy fighting also raged in Bani Walid, the only other remaining pro-Kadhafi bastion. Medics reported a total of 30 NTC troops killed so far on that front.
A pro-Kadhafi radio station called for a gathering at one of Bani Walid's squares, after a similar call from Kadhafi's most prominent son, Seif al-Islam, for people to rise up for the town's "liberation".
On the political front, the NTC held talks on forming a new government amid doubts over whether disagreements that prevented a deal last week could be immediately overcome.
"Differences in views" between members of the NTC and the executive council had delayed a deal, Abdel Jalil told reporters, but the composition of the interim government would be announced in the coming week.
That had been due to be set up last Sunday, but was postponed indefinitely because of haggling over portfolios.
Abdel Jalil said the new authorities had control over internationally "banned weapons" from Kadhafi's regime, when asked about the presence of such weapons in the south.
The International Atomic Energy Agency on Friday confirmed the existence of raw uranium stored in drums at the southern city of Sabha.
"These weapons are between Waddan and Sabha," said Abdel Jalil, referring to the other central town.
"We will call for Libyan technicians and the international community to get rid of these weapons safely," he said.
While Libya's new authorities do not know where Kadhafi is, they are focusing on taking Sirte and Bani Walid, two places where some think he might be. Reports have also emerged that he may be in the south.
"General Belgasem al-Abaaj, who we captured on Monday, said that Kadhafi had contacted him by phone about 10 days ago, and that he was moving secretly between (the oases of) Sabha and Ghat," an NTC commander, Mohammed Barka Wardugu, told AFP.
Abaaj had said Kadhafi "is helped by Nigerian and Chadian mercenaries who know the desert routes," added Wardugu, spokesman for the Desert Shield Brigade.
Friday's statement from Kadhafi's daughter Aisha that said her father was well and fighting on the ground -- and denouncing the new administration in Libya as traitors -- got a sharp reaction from the Algerian authorities.
Algerian Foreign Minister Mourad Mdeleci described her comments as "unacceptable", the country's APS agency reported. Her telephone message was broadcast by Syria-based Arrai television.
Algeria received Aisha Kadhafi, her mother and other members of their family when they fled Libya in August.
Algeria, which after criticism from the NTC in Libya defended its decision to receive the Kadhafis on humanitarian grounds, on Friday said it was willing to work with the new administration.
In New York, NTC prime minister Mahmoud Jibril told the United Nations General Assembly that a new Libya was coming to life.
But he added: "The asset freeze on our funds must be lifted as urgently as possible."

Brad’s company Plan B Entertainment has signed on to produce Ryan Murphy’s screenplay The Normal Heart. Ryan created television shows Nip/Tuck and Glee and also directed 2010 film starring Julia Roberts Eat, Pray, Love. He will direct and serve as producer for The Normal Heart.
The film is an adaptation of a semi-autobiographical play written by Larry Kramer. The play follows an activist in the 1980s who struggles to raise awareness for HIV/AIDS. Actors Ellin Barkin and Joe Mantello starred during the show’s stretch on Broadway this year. Mark Ruffalo is in talks to take on a role in the film adaptation.
Ryan recently produced Glee: The 3D Concert movie. Mark has starred in 2010’s comedy-drama The Kids Are All Right. Brad’s company Plan B has three major feature film releases upcoming in 2012 including Cogan’s Trade, World War Z and Cobra: the Space Pirate.

Samsung pulls tablet PC from trade show amid row

South Korea's Samsung Electronics said Monday it has withdrawn its new tablet computer from a major electronics fair in Berlin after a German court accepted a complaint from US rival Apple.
Samsung Sunday removed its Galaxy Tab 7.7 inch from the annual IFA show following an order Friday from a district court in Duesseldorf banning sales and marketing, a company spokesman told AFP.
"Samsung respects the court's decision... and therefore decided not to display any more the Galaxy Tab 7.7 in the IFA," the company said in a statement.
Samsung however vowed to take "all available measures, including legal options" to defend its presence in the European market, saying the court ruling "severely limits consumer choice in Germany".
Friday's move by the Duesseldorf court follows an interim ban in late August on German sales of Samsung's Galaxy Tab 10.1. That ban remains in force until the court makes its final ruling on Friday.
Samsung -- the world's second-biggest mobile phone maker -- is embroiled in a series of patent lawsuits with Apple over designs and technologies in their smartphone and tablet computers.
Apple, in complaints filed to courts in several countries, requested a ban on the selling and marketing of Samsung smartphones and tablet PCs, which it said had "slavishly" copied Apple's market-leading iPhone and iPad.
Samsung has launched counter-suits, claiming Apple infringed its wireless technologies.

Arsene Wenger demands defensive improvement after Arsenal's dismal start to the season

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has urged his team to improve after last weekend’s 4-3 defeat to Blackburn Rovers, insisting their whole season is at risk if they continue to leak soft goals.

The Gunners have made a poor start to this season’s Premier League, having only picked up one win and endured a humiliating 8-2 defeat at Manchester United, with the weekend result at Ewood Park adding to the pressure on Wenger, whose team take on Shrewsbury on Tuesday in the League Cup.
And the 61-year-old believes improving the defence should be the priority for his side.
'It is very important,' Wenger said, according to The Mirror.

'Our season depends now on how well we respond to this disappointment and how quickly we can cut out the mistakes we made on Saturday by giving away goals that we should never give away.'

The Frenchman has seen his side concede 14 goals, with two of them at Blackburn being turned in by his own players, in their opening five games of the season, and believes a lack of mental readiness is to blame.

'A lack of concentration, a lack of communication, a lack of coordination and individual urgency,' said Wenger.

'When you score an own goal, you have to look at yourself. It is never completely out of your reach where you have no chance at all. All the rest, you have to look at yourself.

'The Blackburn game is very disappointing and frustrating. I must say that the disappointments and frustrations are huge. We feel that we have given this game away, not that we have lost the game.

'There is nothing worse in our job than having that feeling.

'I personally want to focus on the positives, because there is huge potential in this team - we had 22 shots on goal, 61 per cent of the possession.

'I believe there is a little question of time, timing. Andre Santos and Per Mertesacker are new, but they were not especially guilty on the goals. But maybe as a unit we need more time to work.'

Following reports that Arsenal lack a specialist defensive coach, with former Gunner Martin Keown tipped as the leading man for any defensive position that may appear at the club, Wenger insists his club will recover, and thanked the fans for their support.

Anti-Kadhafi forces seize key Libya airport

Anti-Kadhafi fighters said Tuesday they had captured the airport and a garrison in the defeated Libyan despot's southern redoubt Sabha, as fighting raged in two of his northern strongholds.
The battlefield victories came as the United States and its allies prepared to meet on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York to discuss the future of the new Libya.
Moamer Kadhafi, for decades an outlandish fixture at the UN gathering with his tent and rambling speeches, will be absent in New York as the National Transitional Council rebels who ousted him are ushered into the spotlight.
The capture of the airport and garrison at Sabha, a strategic desert city 800 kilometres (500 miles) south of Tripoli, was announced early Tuesday by Mohammed Wardugu, spokesman for the NTC's "Desert Shield Brigade."
Fighting still raged in some quarters of Sabha but the pro-NTC forces would take total control of the city "in some hours," said Wardugu, brother of brigade commander Barka Wardugu.
He said NTC forces had also seized one of Kadhafi's senior generals and forced more than 300 of his mercenaries to flee.
"Our fighters ambushed then and killed, wounded or captured many," Wardugu told AFP in the eastern city of Benghazi, without giving figures.
"General Belgacem Al-Abaaj, Kadhafi's intelligence chief in the Al-Khofra region, was captured" on Monday some 100 kilometres (60 miles) from Sabha, he said.
Abaaj, who had been sought by the NTC forces for committing "crimes ... and sabotage" was seized with members of his family who were travelling in five four-wheel drive vehicles.
NATO said on Tuesday it had the previous day targeted Sabha with air strikes, taking out two air missile systems, two military air radar defence facilities and three air missile facilities.
It also struck an armed vehicle and multiple rocket system in Sirte; six anti-aircraft guns and a command and control node around the nearby towns of Waddan and Hun; and another command and control node near Bani Walid.
The NATO strikes around Sirte came as dozens of new regime fighters stormed the nearby town of Sultana, braving rocket and artillery attacks as they marched towards Kadhafi's hometown.
Shouting "Allahu Akbar" (God is greatest) and "Hold your heads high, you are Libyans," the fighters drove into Sultana -- the site of steady fighting in the past two days -- pushing Kadhafi's diehards back towards Sirte.
"They want a war, they are getting one. We will kick their butts," said one of the fighters, Saleh Drisi, as he jumped from his pick-up truck and barged into a house, searching for Kadhafi loyalists.
The column of fighters advancing on Sirte from the west were to join other NTC forces already at the gates of the city who have been fighting Kadhafi loyalists there since the weekend.
Fighting had also raged on Monday in Bani Walid when NTC fighters attacked the oasis town southeast of Tripoli where Kadhafi's son Seif al-Islam is believed holed up, possibly with his father.
Kadhafi, Seif al-Islam and intelligence chief Abdullah al-Senussi have been on the run since rebels overran Tripoli on August 23. They are wanted by the International Criminal Court for alleged crimes against humanity.
Tuesday's meeting in New York will follow the first talks between US President Barack Obama and Mustafa Abdel Jalil, the head of the NTC -- now recognised as Libya's legitimate leaders.
The talks will "confirm the start of a new phase which began with the Paris summit and the beginning of an increased role in the United Nations," said French Foreign Minister Alain Juppe.
French President Nicolas Sarkozy, who was hailed as a hero when he visited Tripoli last week, would also join Tuesday's talks.
One of the aims of the meeting would be to replace the "contact group" with a "group of friends of Libya, whose make-up and function will be determined by the secretary general," he added.
"The new Libya will symbolically be fully integrated into the United Nations," Juppe said, as the green, red and black flag used by the old Libyan monarchy was raised Monday for the first time at the UN.
Created on March 29 in London, the political contact group on Libya gathers 30 countries and several international organisations including the United Nations, NATO and the Arab League.
It has worked to support the revolt against Kadhafi who ruled Libya for four decades, including unblocking the fallen regime's funds which had been frozen by governments around the world.
In Benghazi, the spokesman for the pro-NTC forces fighting in and around Sabha launched an urgent appeal for international aid on behalf of the residents in the region.
Wardugu appealed to "France, Britain, the United States, to all Western nations, to the Arab countries and to humanitarian organisations to bring in aid," as people were suffering from a lack of food, water, electricity and medicine.
"Women, children, the elderly are dying every day. Some of the injured are transported to Benghazi (2,500 kilometres away) to receive treatment," he said.

Justin debuted the track over the weekend, with many wondering if he would keep the song’s profanities in. However, the Canadian singer decided to refrain from using the swear words, instead opting for a different take on the lyrics.
Drake wishes Justin had kept the song in its original form.
'I wish he would've left all the cuss words in it. I feel like that would've been so G, if he would've done all the swearing,' he told MTV News.
'I was excited when I heard he remixed it, because there was like a gang of swearing in that song. I was like, 'Oh, we're about to hear the transformation of Bieber.''
Justin changed the context of the lyrics throughout. Drake’s version includes the line: 'You know what I'm sippin'/ I teach you how to mix it/ But you're the only one, 'cause I don't trust these b***hes.'
Justin is renowned for his religious upbringing and clean living and modified the lyrics in his version to: 'You just need to listen/ Teach you how to fix it/ 'Cause you're the only one, because I don't trust these women.'
Drake was impressed with Justin’s effort. The American rapper says the teen sensation’s remake of the song was credit to his talent.
'He's like a talented kid... from Canada, so to hear him even remix that song is crazy,' he said. 'That's incredible.'

The famous TV show “Punk’d”, first aired in 2033 capturing the hearts of millions of viewers worldwide with its unique idea.

The show’s star Ashton Kutcher would pull pranks on famous celebrities unknowingly, leaving them emotionally scarred to this day.

After Ashton took over in “Two and a Half Men”, he doesn’t have time to host the MTV show (but will be the executive producer instead), and so each week the show will have a new host.

First celebrity host, Justin Bieber. First celebrity Prankee, Taylor Swift.

The show is currently in production, filming its debut episode this Friday in Los Angeles, a source revealed to Access Hollywood.

Justin and Taylor are good friends, where only a week ago the duo performed “Baby”- Bieber’s hit- during Taylor Swift’s “Speak Now” Tour.

We don't know what the prank is, or when it will air, but we are all on the edge of our seats so stay tuned.

Amy Adams has been asked to headline Mark Pellington’s newest horror movie.
Amy is in talks to star in American remake of Spanish director Juan Antonio Bayona’s 2007 horror The Orphanage. Mark, whose previous works include Arlington Road and The Mothman Prophecies, will act as director.
Many members of the original film will take part in the Hollywood adaptation. The producer of the Spanish version Guillermo del Toro will lead the production. Sergio G. S?nchez, a writer on the original screenplay teamed up on this feature with Larry Fessenden who penned Wendigo and The Last Winter.
The film chronicles Laura, a woman who purchases and renovates an orphanage where she grew up into a care centre for disabled children. Laura’s adopted son Sim?n begins to play with an imaginary friend and then he suddenly disappears. In the hunt for her son, Laura uncovers the orphanage’s horrific past.
Amy plays supporting roles in her upcoming films The Muppets, which will be released this year, Man of Steel and The Master, which will both debut in 2013.

Sergio Aguero has revealed that he got his hat-trick ball from Manchester City's 3-0 victory over Wigan Athletic signed by him team-mates before putting it in his own personal museum.
The Argentine collected the match ball after scoring all three goals in the victory and then gave it to colleagues such as David Silva and Samir Nasri to pen personal messages of congratulation.
The 23-year-old has burst onto the scene at the Etihad Stadium, already scoring six times in only four Premier League games for his new club.
Aguero revealed on Twitter that he had placed the ball into his personal museum: 'The ball of the hat trick is now in my museum. And it’s more valuable because it’s signed by all my mates'.
Messages in a range of languages suggested something about the diversity of City's squad, but Frenchman Gael Clichy’s comment summed up the universality of football, reading: 'Dont need speak english to score goals'.
Roberto Mancini remained characteristically underwhelmed, with a message simply saying: 'Not bad'.

Merkel warns leaders to watch their words on Greek debt

In a tacit reprimand of her vice chancellor's blunt recognition of the possibility of Greek bankruptcy, German Chancellor Angela Merkel on Tuesday said leaders need to tread carefully when speaking publicly about the country's problems.
"The top priority is to avoid an uncontrolled insolvency, because that would not just affect Greece," Merkel told RBB radio. "Everyone should weigh their words very carefully. What we do not need is volatility on the financial markets. The uncertainties are already big enough."
German Economy Minister and Vice Chancellor Philip R?sler on Monday wrote in a newspaper commentary that "an orderly bankruptcy" for Greece could not be ruled out. European markets plummeted in response.
Merkel emphasized that even though it may be politically unpopular, it was also in Germany's interest to support Greece and keep it in the eurozone.
"I have made my position very clear that everything must be done to keep the eurozone together politically, because we would soon have a domino effect," she said.
Bailout a tough sell
Later Tuesday, Merkel was to meet her Finnish counterpart, Jyrki Katainen, for talks on Greece's second bailout package. Finland has demanded cash collateral in exchange for its parliament ratifying Greece's bailout - calls echoed by the Netherlands.
Leaders of the 17 countries that use the euro currency agreed in July to a second bailout for Greece, but must now convince their national parliaments to ratify the agreement before it can be put into action. Belgium's parliament was scheduled to vote on the bailout on Tuesday.
In a flurry of meetings on the eurozone debt crisis on Tuesday, EU President Herman Van Rompuy was meet with French President Nicolas Sarkozy and Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, whose country has seen borrowing rates skyrocket on worries about its own mountain of debt.
Greek Finance Minister Evangelos Venizelos was also scheduled to speak with his German counterpart, Wolfgang Sch?uble, after having a lengthy phone conversation on Monday.
In a rare public expression of criticism aimed at his European allies, US President Barack Obama on Monday said Europe needed a "more effective set of coordinated policies" to deal with the continent's sovereign debt crisis.

Adele wants five sons because boys are nicer to their mothers than girls.
The 23-year-old singer is currently single. She’s had three boyfriends in the past, none of which have treated her very well. She famously pens lyrics about her relationships, but her romantic experiences haven’t made her bitter.
The star would love to have a family at some point and has already thought about how many kids she’d like.
'I’ve always got on better with boys. Most of my friends are boys. Like, if I have children, I want five boys. Boys love their mothers whereas girls can be so mean to each other,' she explained.
'I do get massively distracted when I’ve got someone in my life, which I can’t afford to do right now. Besides, no one treats me as well as I do…'
For now Adele relies on her friends when she wants fun.
She’s known many of her closest pals for years and they treat her as they always have done.
She has money nowadays but she still loves getting a good deal on things – so much so her friends let her know if they spot a bargain. They shout 'Pam' at her rather than using her real name when out and about, especially when they spot cut-price vegetables.
'As everybody knows, I always love a good deal,' Adele laughed to Vogue magazine.
'[Celebrities don’t need to be hounded] look at Meryl Streep, best actress in the world – nobody knows nothing about her do they?'
Adele famously refuses to play stadium shows because she finds the concept so terrifying. She gets stage fright and often has to be walked toward the audience by a staff member to ensure she goes through with the show.
The star is often physically sick before singing too, although she now thinks that’s a good thing.
'I puke quite a lot before going on stage – though never actually on stage – but then I sh*t myself before everything… This is, the bigger the freak-out, the more I enjoy the show,' she laughed.

Google pulling plug on Fast Flip, shutting Aardvark

Internet giant Google said Friday that it is pulling the plug on its online news reader Fast Flip and closing Aardvark, a "social search" service it bought last year.
Google said it is winding down Fast Flip, which was unveiled in September 2009, and shutting down Aardvark as part of the closure announced last month of its experimental test bed Google Labs.
"With the winding down of Google Labs, the Google Fast Flip project will also be winding down," Google said a brief message on the Google Labs website.
"We will begin removing Fast Flip from Google News and Labs in the coming days," the Mountain View, California-based company said.
"For the past two years, the Fast Flip experiment has fueled a new approach to faster, richer content display on the Web -- which will live on in our other display and delivery tools," Google said.
"We want to thank the dozens of participating US publishers for their collaboration with us in pioneering news content browsing and reading experiences for the Web and mobile devices," it said.
Google partners on Fast Flip include The New York Times, the BBC, The Huffington Post, The Los Angeles Times, The Christian Science Monitor, The Wall Street Journal and other publications.
Other companies supplying content include magazines such as the Atlantic, Cosmopolitan, Elle, Marie Claire and Popular Mechanics, as well as online news sites TechCrunch, Salon and Slate.
Fast Flip allows users to browse through news stories from Google's media partners at speeds significantly faster than the time it usually takes to load a Web page.
Aardvark co-founders Max Ventilla and Damon Horowitz said in a blog post entitled "Goodbye Aardvark" that the service will shut down at the end of September.
Google acquired Aardvark, which was founded in 2007, in February of last year for a purchase price put at $50 million by technology blog TechCrunch.
Aardvark uses the contacts in a person's network to provide answers to questions via the Web at Vark.com, instant messaging, email or Twitter.
"Aardvark began as a small experiment in a new kind of social search, and over a few years blossomed into a service that made millions of connections between people to answer each other's questions," Ventilla and Horowitz said.
"Over this time, we learned a lot about creating and maintaining online communities, and how to facilitate sharing of knowledge between people," they said. "We've been excited to share these lessons within Google over the past year, especially as part of the effort behind Google+"
Google+ is the social network launched by the Internet giant in June.
Ventilla and Horowitz said the Aardvark team "remains committed to developing powerful tools for connecting people and improving access to information."
The announcement of the closure of Fast Flip and Aardvark comes a week after Google said it was shutting down Slide, a developer of applications for social networks it bought a year ago.

Dimitar Berbatov set for new contract talks with Manchester United

Manchester United star Dimitar Berbatov is set for talks over a new contract this month, Goal.com has learned.The Bulgarian striker is out of contract next June and his representatives have not held any conversations about a new deal since negotiations broke down in March.
Berbatov, 30, has been threatening to run down his United deal and leave on a lucrative free transfer at the end of the season.
United executives were ready to sell Berbatov this summer but now accept that the financial realities mean they would be better off if they tie him to a longer term deal. He attracted interest from a number of clubs over the summer, most notably big spending Paris Saint-Germain.
Berbatov, who earns an £80,000 weekly salary, is demanding a two-year extension to his contract on improved terms of £120,000 a week.
United are reluctant to meet his demands as Berbatov has found himself out of favour under Sir Alex Ferguson and has not featured so far this season after missing out on a place in the 18-man squad for the Champions League final defeat to Barcelona in May.
Yet chief executive David Gill is eager to make some sort of return on the club record £30.75 million paid to sign him from Tottenham in 2008 and sees a new deal as a way of protecting the value of one of the club's assets.
Berbatov finished joint top scorer in the Premier League last season with 20 goals but has now found himself behind Wayne Rooney, Javier Hernandez, Danny Welbeck and Michael Owen in the pecking order at Old Trafford.
United first held talks with him over a new deal at the end of last season but downgraded their offer to a one-year rolling deal before pulling out of negotiations altogether.
Berbatov's agent, Emil Dantchev, told Goal.com in June that he had not had any contact from Gill or Ferguson since the end of last season.
'There is no news because we have not heard anything from anyone,' Dantchev said before adding that his client was happy to stay at Old Trafford.
It has not gone unnoticed, however, that United have been extremely busy over the last 12 months tying other players to new deals. The likes of Antonio Valencia, Park Ji-Sung, Patrice Evra, Darren Fletcher, Michael Carrick and Ryan Giggs have all signed contract extensions in the last year.

EU parliamentarians fear debt crisis damage to Europe

The next act in the Greek debt tragedy, regarding the declining eurozone and its nascent rescue, is upon us: It now seems that Greece may not be able to fulfill the requisite conditions to qualify for further financial aid from Europe.
This has stirred much ire within the German government. Some, few lawmakers are calling for Greece to be ejected from the single currency zone.
Furthermore, Chancellor Angela Merkel could struggle to achieve a majority in parliament to push through further loans to Greece and other eurozone countries struggling to stay afloat under piles of debt. A straw poll carried out in the Bundestag this week showed as much.
Greece will have to explain how it intends to gets its financial house in order, before the official vote takes place in Germany's parliament at the end of the month. The figures on Athens' books appear to be even worse than previously thought.

Merkel's comments over the weekend underlined the severity of the situation: "Under no circumstances can we simply offer help," she said, "Rather, we must impose conditions that would see countries with high levels of debt do their homework and actually reduce their debt."
But in comments after meeting with European Council President Hermann Van Rompuy, Merkel did say that if Greece was unable to do its homework, it would not necessarily be chucked from the eurozone.
'More Europe'
Even so, a Greek bankruptcy would have incalculable risks for the common currency. Some say the answer to the debt crisis is "more Europe." Udo Bullman, a German Social Democrat in the European Parliament, is one of them.
"There can be no backtracking. Any path which leads to national self-interest will lead us astray," he says. "There can only be a European future - for Germany too - if more authority is given at the European level."
Bullman advocates the much-debated and rather polarizing introduction of joint eurozone debt in the form of eurobonds, as well as the installation of a truly European finance minister for the currency bloc. He also wants to see a strengthening of the ability of national and European Parliaments to monitor indebted states.
"I believe we need to accelerate our involvement. Where is the Marshall Plan for Greece?" Bullman asks.
Greece needs investment in its real economy to create growth, he says, adding that the newly-established European crisis fund and emergency chute only serve to buy the eurozone time and calm the creditors, that is, the banks.
Give and take
European parliamentarian Markus Ferber agrees that more solidarity is essential. But the Bavarian conservative rejects introducing eurobonds, adding that greater unity is a two-way street requiring more from indebted states.
"This must also mean that the Southern Europeans accept the competitive pressure to adapt and reform. Only then can there be solidarity," says Ferber. "Otherwise, we'll end up with something no one wants, the terrible outcome of a permanent transfer union in which money flows from north to south. That's no future for the German taxpayer."
Ferber added that it was essential that the economic performance of countries like Germany and others in Europe's northern reaches not be abused. Several EU members are already seeing populist parties feeding euro-skepticism and opposing bailouts for indebted eurozone countries. Ferber said such movements could not be allowed to take hold in Germany.
"We need to bring the people with us. Why does Germany assume such responsibilities?" he asked. "If we don't pay close attention, we'll have greater problems than just whether we can lead the euro through stormy waters. Much of what we have achieved in the past could be lost."
Credit conditions for Greece will be discussed in the coming weeks by European finance ministers at the end of the summer break. How the economic tragedy will end remains unclear. But one thing is certain: European banks do not have enough capital to survive bankruptcy in Greece, Portugal, Ireland, Spain or Italy.
