The practice questions and employ tests within this book tend to be harder than what actually shows up on the Math II Subject Test. Ku and Dodge also review many topics in detail that won't be tested on the Subject Test either. Working through this book and slogging through its tedious, difficult problems is great practice and will make real Subject Test seem like a breeze.

You shouldn't be discouraged in case your practice test scores aren't of up to you'd expect. I scored inside the low-to-mid-700's on all my Barron's practice tests but comfortably and easily (read: finished test 20 mins early) scored an 800 around the the real guy as being a sophomore.

This book features a fair amount of tests but a majority of can be extremely difficult. Well past the scope of the particular SAT Subject Exam. Definitely an excellent book to assist push that you do very well for the exam. I would not recommend this book unless you're scoring around 700 or more consistently on the other study guides (Princeton Review, Mc-Graw Hill, etc.). This book will certainly intimidate you otherwise.

Adverbials - clause elements that typically refer to circumstances of time, space, reason and manner - cover a range of meanings and can be placed at the beginning, in the middle or at the end of a sentence.

The description of the frequency of meaning types and discussion of the reasons for selecting positions show that the use of adverbials differs across text types. Adverbial usage is often linked to the general build-up of a text and part of its content and purpose.

In using real texts, Hasselgård identifies a challenge for the classification of adjuncts, and also highlights that some adjuncts have uses that extend into the textual and interpersonal domains, obscuring the traditional divisions between adjuncts, disjuncts and conjuncts.

However, the exercises in some sections are "graded" according to difficulty - with easier tests being followed by more difficult ones. Thus, it is my belief that intermediate students too can very much benefit from its contents! The book has also to some extent been arranged thematically, and has exercises that are interrelated. Additionally, there is towards the back of the book a vocabulary game.

Hence, teachers should also find this work very useful - especially in the classroom... Students preparing for such exams as FCE, CAE, CPE and similar will find this publication immensly useful.

This title offers a first-person diary account of living through the Great Depression, with haunting parallels to our own time. Benjamin Roth was born in New York City in 1894. When the stock market crashed in 1929, he had been practicing law for approximately ten years, largely representing local businesses.

After nearly two years, he began to grasp the magnitude of what had happened to American economic life, and he began writing down his impressions in a diary that he maintained intermittently until he died in 1978.
