Today the first ‘beta’ version of the new look Quidco is available for you to use, and we can’t wait to hear what you think.

As you look around QuidcoBeta, you may notice that alongside the new look and feel we have also added some great new features.
This is a work in progress, and needs your help to bring it to perfection, so with this in mind as you look at it, if you spot any bugs please do send them through to redesign@quidco.com.

QuidcoBeta will be available to use on a limited basis to begin with; so for those that get access we really hope that you enjoy the new look and feel Quidco and that the new features make the site even easier for you to use.

The Quidco team is currently 40 staff split between London and Sheffield. The roles advertised here will be London based.

To date our development has been undertaken in Canada by a third party. We are now looking to bring this capability to the UK. As a rapidly growing dot-com we are generally vibrant and looking for 3 developers to help grow and support our Business.

We are currently looking for the following Development and Support staff:

-Senior Developer (salary circa £35k)
-Developer (salary circa £25k)
-Front End Developer &/or Graduate (£Salary £18k+)

These positions will report into the Head of Development. The roles are open to people with the requisite skills and able to show behaviours consistent of a dot-com development and support team.

Main responsibilities

Responsible for the software development and support of the Quidco.com.

Role Scope

-Design, Build and Test new site functionality, to include:
-Web applications
-Back end integration
-SQL
-3rd Party interfaces
-Batch processes, (e.g. CRON, 3rd party integration)
-Enhancement and support of the existing site and associated functionality
-1st, 2nd & 3rd line support, as required
-24×7 support cover, as required
-General IT assistance as required by the business

Required Skills

-Depending on seniority: Able to manage & quality assure the work of peers and junior developers
-Depending on seniority: 4+ years/2+ years/Graduate with co-op/work placement experience of:
-Web development experience in a commercial environment, (preferably Open Source)
-High transaction, high availability web applications
-LAMP stack development (Apache, MySQL), or similar
-PHP5 (with OOP), JavaScript, HTML and CSS or equivalent

Desirable experience

-eCommerce and affiliate marketing
-Source control systems
-Ajax/jQuery, XML
-Front End skill set (see below)
-Extremely organized and detail-oriented
-Good oral and written communication skills

Front End Skills

-Experience in solving cross-browser related issues
-Experience with JavaScript / jQuery

The first of these will be held in Central London (Farringdon area) on Wednesday 21st October 2009. It will begin at 6.30pm and last for 1-2 hours and be focused around the new design of our website, which you will be given access to in advance of the group. The incentive payment for taking part will be £20 which will be given to all those that attend (and what’s even better - we’ll provide some food and drinks!).
