David and Sean are on a journey out here indeed.

We are on day 4 and feeling a bit tired. Yesterday was a beautiful meandering paddle through a slough collecting plastic and watching the sun bounce around our athletes.
Our ruby chariot has rallied over 250 mi. to chase the crew down. We’ve been traveling via Kayak, car, and powerboat to find as many vantage points as possible. The paddle team is holding in strong but certainly feeling the wear of over 80 miles towing a canoe and stopping for some pretty nasty trash pulls off the edge of the water.

During these three days we were able to get dirty with some hands-on practice of climbs that will be available during our rock climbing workshop coming up this June. Also, we’d like to give a special thanks shout-out to Darren of Big Sky Balloons for the personal tour through his stunning piece of land. Between swigs of green St. Patty’s Day beer, soaking in hot tubs, rock climbing, eating delicious food, and playing competitive games of Jenga, we kept to Sean’s structured work agenda. Big changes are happening and we’re stoked for the upcoming months. People get ready for a whole new Freesolo. And the forecast said it'd be rainy and miserable..... A twist of branch in the dead of winter can be beautiful in ways that isn’t easily captured.  Sometimes we need to depend on creative equipment to get images that we couldn’t otherwise see.  Here natural elements were placed on a cooking sheet in window light, our white balance was adjusted for a blue cast, and utilized the LensBaby 2.0 for the selective focus effect. The result has calmed our senses from it’s inception.

When you look into the eyes of the dog you can’t help but be engaged. This has been one of our favorite images of all time! When you hold a job as a Sled Dog runner, each animal takes on a personality. This dog and I connected several times in the months that I spent feeding her, running her, and getting to know her.  This moment happened candidly but was far from unexpected. Interactive Portraiture goes beyond the human emotion and sometimes finds it self in the spirit of a wilder side of our world.

At 7pm tonight, a full house of viewers will have the chance to see this Kickstarter video at the Hollywood theater in Portland Oregon. The project is called One Light Night and it is a collective work of some of the finest talent we have the pleasure of working with. This project is our proudest collaboration to date and we are very excited to share it with you now. Please take a few minutes to watch and enjoy the film.
