Princess Diana

2011-04-20T01:57:00.000-07:00

Middleton first met Prince William while she was studying at the University of St Andrews in 2001. The couple has been in a relationship over a period of last eight years with two brief splits as the only halts. Compared to Kate-William courtship which lasted over 8 years, Diana-Charles affair was really short.

Even though the Prince had known Diana for several years, they got romantically involved only a year before their wedding. Diana was accepted by the royal family and the Prince proposed her on February 1981.

The marriage of William and Middleton, both 28, will take place in the spring or summer of 2011, 30 years after Charles's spectacular but ultimately ill-fated wedding to Diana.

Diana was the most photographed woman in the world and haunted throughout her life by paparazzi's who eventually caused her tragic death. Kate Middleton too has complained about harassment from the media saying it's affecting her privacy.

Diana was not good with her studies, but had a real taste for music. She excelled in piano and other extracurricular activities like swimming, ballet etc. She worked as a preschool assistant and dance trainer before her wedding with Charles.

Kate used to work as an accessory buyer with the clothing chain Jigsaw.Later she gave up the job to become a professional photographer. She was even introduced to photographer Mario Testino, who is famous for his iconic Diana portraits.

Middleton is renowned for her fashion sense, featuring in People Magazine's 2007 and 2010 best dressed list. Diana's beauty and charm made her a darling to the world with her hairstyle and fashion becoming the topic everyone wanted to talk about, copied by millions around the globe.

Princess Diana's iconic wedding gown was designed by David and Elizabeth Emanuel. The design and designer of Kate Middleton's wedding dress has been the subject of endless speculation since her engagement. There are reports suggesting Sophie Cranston of label Libelula has been chosen to design what is already one of the most-talked about dresses of the decade.

Charles and Diana were two contradicting personalities and their age gap was also 11 years. William is only six months older to Kate, and it seems they share a better chemistry than the Charles-Diana pair.

According to a study, Kate Middleton is set to overtake Britain's Princess Diana as the most talked-about woman in the world's media. With two weeks to go before her wedding, Kate is already posting Diana-type numbers in terms of news worthiness and celebrity status.

A yacht is a high end recreational boat. The term designates two rather different classes of watercraft, sailing and power boats. Yachts are different from working ships mainly by their leisure purpose, and it was not until the rise of the steamboat and other types of powerboat that sailing vessels in general came to be perceived as luxury, or recreational vessels. Later the term came to encompass motor boats for primarily private pleasure purposes as well.

A famous French shipbuilder ship company and one of Monaco joined hands together to build this yacht with enormous dimensions: The WHY 58×38. (58meter long and 38 meter wide)

This is a “green” yacht.

Interesting Things you might not know about Titanic Facts - 99th Anniversary

2011-04-11T01:00:00.001-07:00

This April 15 Would be the 99th anniversary of Titanic. Titanic doesn't need any introduction but has been part of so many lives for almost 100 years now, There is no other cruise ship to gain as much interest as Titanic has got, In this post i will share some fascinating facts and myths regarding sinking of the ‘unsinkable’ ship. Before the maiden voyage in April 1912 Titanic was labeled ‘Unsinkable’, Lets read 10 interesting facts about Titanic that you might not know.

10. There were no cats on the Titanic. Cats were often brought on ships as a form of good luck. They also controlled rodents.

09. The Titanic was about as long as the Empire State building is tall.

08: Two dogs were among the Titanic survivors.

07: Morgan Robertson a writer has written a novel named ‘Futility’ in 1898 almost 14 year prior to titanic tragedy, In that novel he wrote about a ship named ‘Titan’ the largest ship ever built hitting the iceberg in Atlantic ocean on a cold April night, Both of the ships, The fictional one and the real one ‘Titanic’ were same in design and were labeled ‘unsinkable’

06: There were 13 couples on board celebrating their Honeymoons.

05: The Titanic carried 900 tons of baggage and freight.

04: The Titanic used 14,000 gallons of drinking water every 24 hours and 825 tons of coal per day.

03: The time interval from first sighting of the iceberg to impact was a little over 30 seconds.

02: The Titanic sank 2 hours and 40 minutes after hitting the iceberg.

01: Prices of Titanic Cruise Ticket in 1912 were as follow

First Class: $4,350 (price of finest 1st class suite)
Second Class: $1,750
Third Class: $30

Brief Description: Shortly before midnight on 14 April 1912, four days into the ship’s maiden voyage, Titanic hit an iceberg and sank two hours and forty minutes later, early on 15 April 1912. The sinking resulted in the deaths of 1,517 of the 2,223 people on board, making it one of the deadliest peacetime maritime disasters in history. The high casualty rate was due in part to the fact that, although complying with the regulations of the time, the ship did not carry enough lifeboats for everyone aboard. The ship had a total lifeboat capacity of 1,178 people, although her capacity was 3,547. A disproportionate number of men died due to the women-and-children-first protocol that was followed.

The Titanic used some of the most advanced technology available at the time and was popularly believed to have been described as "unsinkable." It was a great shock to many that, despite the extensive safety features and experienced crew, the Titanic sank. The frenzy on the part of the media about Titanic’s famous victims, the legends about the sinking, the resulting changes to maritime law, and the discovery of the wreck have contributed to the continuing interest in, and notoriety of, the Titanic.
