According to Erike Younge, writer at the One Step Away, a newspaper which represents the voice of the city’s homeless in Philadelphia, “feeding people and serving the needs of the people is a fundamental right. And to ban it or to oppose it and not to work to solve this problem is unconstitutional and inhumane.”

Philadelphia Begins Enforcement of Ban on Outdoor Feeding Programs

I understand Mr. Younge's frustration with Philadelphia's ban on outdoor feeding programs, but this is NOT an issue of fundamental rights or the constitution. His comments are more evidence that much of the citizenry of the U.S. is unaware of what the constitution actually says.
Conservative bloggers say they're targets of dangerous 'SWAT-ing' prankBy Joseph Weber ,Published May 31, 2012, FoxNews.comConservative bloggers say they are being terrorized by a potentially deadly prank in which phony 911 calls bring armed cops to their doors in search of criminals, all in retaliation for their blog posts.
At least two conservative Internet pundits have reported being victims of "SWAT-ing." In at least one incident, the caller claimed to be the resident of the home and confessed to shooting his wife, according to a recording of the call posted online.

"It's a phone call that could have gotten me killed," Patrick Frey, a deputy district attorney at Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office, wrote of the July, 2011 incident on his blog, Patterico's Pontifications.

The most recent incident involved blogger Erick Erickson, who claimed on his Red State site that sheriff's deputies arrived at his Macon, Ga., home Sunday night as his family gathered for dinner. He said the episode was unnerving, particularly considering one deputy had his hand on his pistol. But Erickson admitted it could have been worse had he not warned officials - in light of Frey's experience - that he anticipated being a victim.

OBAMA TELLS DONORS: 'SECOND TERM TO REDO HEALTHCARE' http://www.drudgereport.com/
Wait, am I reading this correctly? Fix what? Mr. Prez you've told us this was what the American people wanted. It's what our hearts have desired - for government to take care of us from cradle to grave. You told us we could keep our current insurance. You and Queen Nancy told us it would immediately produce 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 million jobs. You told us there would be no death panels. You told us if granny was sick it would be cheaper to just "take a pill"!
Queen Nancy told us "we had to pass it to see what was in it". Ok in it we find out the DHHS Sebelius can do whatever she wants. She can bypass the sacred "separation of church and state". She can force us to pay for joe blows vasectomy or Susie Q's birth control. She can make an army of IRS agents and demand we go to jail if we don't participate. Yea, Mr. Prez, I read the bill. I read it before I marched on Washington in March 2010. I read it before you RAMMED it down our throats.
You also told the Supremes they better not strike it down.
So are you admitting it was a mistake? Admit it as a colossal mistake. Are you anticipating defeat at the hands of the court? You should have kept your power hungry, over reaching, hands out of my healthcare. And you should expect the American people to not be so stupid. And so now you want us to trust you and those cronies to fix a mistake that should have never happened?
NOPE. SORRY. FORGET IT.
You can, Mr. President, bank on this. You say you guys in your velvet cloaked rooms may have made a mistake and will need to "redo" ObamaCare.
Mr. President you are sorely wrong. We, the people, made the mistake. And November, 2012, is our time to correct "the error". In other words, the mistake was made when you were elected President of the UNITED STATES!
They would prefer someone telling them a lie to make them feel good, I guess. My sis Sheila and I were raised by a christian mom. She never failed to take us to church everytime the doors would open. She prayed over us, and taught us to be truthful and respect others.

I read the information Sheila posts on her blog and it is for our good. She keeps us informed on what is going on in our state. We all have the same mess occuring in our counties. People trying to back stab others, trying to tarnish someones reputation. This occurs mostly when politics is involved.

Sheila is here to keep us abreast on things that concern her and things that should concern us all. She is trying to educate us and let us know how we are being robbed of our rights. I know we will not all agree with each other on everyday events, but does that give anyone the right to continually attack someones reputation. Differences of opinions is what makes the world go round. If all of us agreed about the same things in life, how boring. Confrontation is good for everyone, once in a while, would you not agree.

I came on here to not defend my sis, because she can take care of herself. People this gal has her information before she posts it. She has done her homework and it would do us all good to do our homework when it comes to protecting our rights as citizens of the US.

So you folks from Lee County who are constantly attacking my sis,I sense a bit of nervousness there, because anyone who attacks a person for reporting the truth, has to be hiding something themselves. We hear people say: The Truth Hurts and we all have been there at one time. I always say: Tell the Truth and let the Lord love ya.

So Sheila, keep telling it like it is, don't sugar coat a thing because I for one, want and need to hear the truth! Love ya sis.

Linda

As Rodney said: "Can't we all just get along".
Believing that it's what the public wants, "New York City plans to enact a far-reaching ban on the sale of large sodas and other sugary drinks at restaurants, movie theaters and street carts, in the most ambitious effort yet by the Bloomberg administration to combat rising obesity," according to an article in today's NY Times.

The article continues on with this: The proposed ban would affect virtually the entire menu of popular sugary drinks found in delis, fast-food franchises and even sports arenas, from energy drinks to pre-sweetened iced teas. The sale of any cup or bottle of sweetened drink larger than 16 fluid ounces — about the size of a medium coffee, and smaller than a common soda bottle — would be prohibited under the first-in-the-nation plan, which could take effect as soon as next March.
You can read the rest of the article here:Bloomberg Plans a Ban on Large Sugared Drinks

Today during an interview with Andrea Mitchell of MSNBC, Mayor Bloomberg went on to say, "If you want to order two cups at the same time [when in a restaurant or movie theatre], that's fine. It's your choice. We're not taking away anybody's right to do things. We're simply forcing you to understand that you have to make the conscious decision to go from one cup to another cup." He said this is just to be a reminder to people, basically to keep them aware of what they are doing.
You can watch this interview here:Bloomberg Interview with Andrea Mitchell

Personally, I don't need Mayor Bloomberg, or any other government official, reminding me or forcing me to understand the consequences of my choices. I am an adult, a grown-up. Back off, please, Mayor Bloomberg.

That they are not to be violated but with His wrath?" - Thomas Jefferson, Notes on the State of Virginia
Is the Constitution a living breathing document that can be changed on the fly? The left sure thinks so. One part is misused so often by them: "Separation of church and state".

It's more like the separation of "which church and state" these days.
Come to think of it, that phrase is only convenient when Conservatives/Republicans can be called racists, bigots, hate mongers, etc. For example, when it comes to ObamaCare, the left tells us the Catholic church is nothing more than a bunch of women haters. They discount the lawsuits being filed around the country on the mandate that requires even religious organizations to provide contraceptives! That separation of church and state clause doesn't exist for this, they profess!
Next example...Locally - two local churches getting funds from Department of Public Instruction. And to boot the current Board of Education chairman. So NO again, according to these examples, to separation of church and state.
Next example...Do you really think the following article is all about letting black Pastors know how to legally "talk about politics from the pulpit"? Holder to brief black pastors on campaign 2012http://campaign2012.washingtonexaminer.com/blogs/beltway-confidential/holder-brief-black-pastors-campaign-2012/567501
Absolutely not. Ask yourself - why exclude white Pastors? Isn't it called discrimination
when one race is preferred over another? Let me remind you the Democratic party claims to be the party of diversity, of equality, and for all. Right! You let a white church speak out against government or proclaim how one should use God's word to determine who to vote for and you will see a fast track to legal issues spear-headed by the IRS. So why does the AG feel the need to do this only for Black Pastors? And to include IRS agents and the ACLU?? I just don't trust this administration any further than I can kick. (that ain't too far with a total knee replacement)....And this comes across this afternoon: Holder to black leaders: 'Sacred' right to vote under attackhttp://www.politico.com/politico44/2012/05/holder-to-black-leaders-sacred-right-to-vote-under-124823.html
Really? The US top Attorney is telling African Americans the right to vote is being denied when all we want is voter ID legislation! If this is the case, then the sacred right to write checks for mortgages, open a bank account, cash social security checks, make Walmart purchases by check, buy pharmaceuticals, Sudafed, file for unemployment and even to be seen at a doctor's...
Regardless of what any of us think, the school board has the governing authority to award the contract to anyone. It is OUR, mine and yours, responsibility to hold the board to contract standards and to petition them if we feel they are in error.

The State Board of Elections has the filing and is looking into it. The local BOE dismissed it due to that and two of the 3 board members had other things to say.
Before reviewing, note that Shannon Gurwitch stood up for all citizens when she "questioned" one of the members for the motion presented. As Shannon states, every citizen in our county should feel confident enough to that the local BOE would listen to every complaint. Whether the board thinks it is right or wrong. And we say Thank you, Shannon! None of us know when we may need the services of the board.

Ronald Reagan, US President, 1987

The statement above is about the only time I would ever disagree with Reagan. I'm just the opposite right now. You see, for quite sometime the Fresh Brew has had a link on the Sanford Herald's website. Not any more. I was afraid this day would come at some point. That's the way it is when you don't shut up - you SPEAK UP! Some simply will use it against you. Case in point. To recap read these articles:http://freshbrewedconservatism.blogspot.com/2012/05/rules-for-letters-to-editor.htmlhttp://freshbrewedconservatism.blogspot.com/2012/05/if-onlya-fresh-brew-mission.html
You see my family would be the first to tell you to call me if there was anything going on with

mom when she was at the nursing home. They knew they could count on me to try to fix situations. They knew I would make the tough choices when it came to her. And my immediate family knows I'm still that person - the one who dares to ask the questions and demand decent answers. They also are confident that I'll put myself as a target if it helps others. I take the risk of being called a liar, a racist, a bigot, a redneck (like that one), and simple little girl from "Doodle Hill" in Williamston. I'm ok with being this way.
Thank you Mama!
That being the case, I am going to take the high road. Even though my link was removed, I am leaving the Herald's on this blog. So be it. YOU deserve to hear it all. So comment moderation still will not be enforced allowing the opposition to speak their peace.
Please get the word out to anyone who asks about the Community Blogs list that they will not be able to link to the Fresh Brew from The Herald anymore. Send them this link: http://freshbrewedconservatism.blogspot.com/ . Thanks!
Remember: If you are passionate about your country, your state, your city, don't shut up- SPEAK UP! Make your voice heard. Stand up for those who can't or won't do so. We sure do here at The Brew.
The Constitution gives you the right to ask questions whenever and however and from whomever. So did those that died while protecting this great country! Anyway, you may not get the answer you want but that should NEVER deter you.
Go after your legislators at all levels, your local boys and girls, your Governor, your local media, bloggers, and even your President. Ask them what isn't being asked. Vet those that want your vote. Make them take a stand. At the end of the day you will know you've done what you could for your country. And I am talking about working both sides - left and right. Leave no stone unturned!
No one here at the Fresh Brew ever intends to defame and destroy. Many of my reactions pertain to articles, editorials or letters to the editor in the local paper, ads, and other forms of
communication as in blogs, headlines, etc. I love to write about my grandson. But this blog's main purpose, along with the other authors here, is to make the obscene the obvious. And to inform!
Somewhere along the line an email to our local media talking heads has become a fiery storm! An email where, I am being honest here, I thought I could clear up some controversy once and for all.

Instead, I am told I did not tell the truth and now have been accused of mischaracterizing and misrepresenting them. I did no such thing. I thought this would have been resolved with a previous posting and email, but it isn't. Therefore, I am compelled to dispel the accusation!
I let people post comments here at the Fresh Brew and I don't moderate them for a reason. I want to know what the other side thinks. I also want to give those who disagree a chance to speak up. You never know what difference you may make in someone's else's life by standing your ground. That's my right as the Editor. And if you don't like it, I can't change that. What I can do is give you the floor to say why. I ask you be civil. I just can't guarantee it will happen. That's the way it is. Man up if it bothers you.

Commentors post on their own cognizant. They are representative of themselves. They do not represent the views of any author here at the Brew! The Fresh Brew Crew is fully capable of expressing themselves on their own merit!

Now that being said...whatever they think of me around town will not deter me from using this blog to ask questions that others won't or maybe don't want to address. It will not stop me from questioning those in...
The happiness of society is the end of government.
John Adams
I’ve written so many times before that when I’m in a funk and need a fresh perspective on life, I get in my car and drive. And it’s usually west! Today was no different. This Sunday turned out to be one absolutely beautiful day for a drive.
As I drove into Boone, my Christmas tree farm loomed ahead with silhouettes of mountains behind it. Every time I see that “B” on the barn, I dream of the day I’m living there with my cows, my horses, a dog or two, 70˚ summers, and lots and lots of snow in the winter. Oh, I can’t forget this…and lots of fine coffee to keep me warm by the logs in winter and the camp fire in the summer. That’s a dream that’s hard to wake up from. But life goes on…doesn’t it?
After having lunch with my son and spending a $100 at Food Lion because he needed
groceries (college kids never get enough food), I headed home. I hate to leave Boone. One day I won’t have to. Just watch me.
Anyway, I put the window down, letting my hair blow in the wind, and turned the radio up to listen to Bon Jovi, Skynyrd, Kenny Chesney, Cindy Lauper and my hubby, Dean, to name a few. I love to hear him sing and I never tell him that enough.
Last but definitely not least, I was sipping a Starbucks Caramel Frappacino that topped it all off! Like I’ve said before, just for awhile…all the ills of the world went away. Life is good.
I, like so many others, too often forget how good I have it. I too often forget to be thankful for the simple stuff, like shelter, food, and water. I too often forget to thank God for my family, no matter how dysfunctional we are at times.

I too often forget that America is still free. Although that concept is rapidly disappearing. I too often forget that I can sleep at night because of those who have died for my freedom and those who still are. I too often forget the families who will wake up on this year’s Memorial Day and have to face the fact their loved ones are gone. Keep reading please!!!I too often forget the moms left behind to carry the burden of raising kids without a dad around because he gave his life for me. I too often forget I am free to worship a loving God who freely gave us individual rights to Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of happiness.
So today, I want to remember…I want to remember the lonely soldier who misses his family, the soft kisses of his little girl, or the frogs his little boy picks up while they walk. I want to remember our heroes.
Although it’s not Christmas, the poem below is one of the most beautiful portrayals of a soldier’s sacrifice. It was created by Lance Corporal James M. Schmidt in 1987 under the title "Merry Christmas, My Friend."
Follow this link, http://www.tankmastergunner.com/silent%20night.htm, to hear the audio (will automatically start). But before you do, grab the tissues. You’ll need them. Without further adieu…
A Soldier's Silent...
And I have heard on numerous occasions that letters are not getting published. Therefore, being who I am I asked about that. I asked for the rules and any policy changes. I was basically told "I wasn't telling the truth" because I wouldn't reveal who said it. I didn't take too kindly to that. But that happens quite often when you put yourself out front and confront the issues. My intentions were to find the truth. Case was definitely lost. So be it.
Anyway, here are the rules. Follow them. And since the Herald is the only other way besides this blog, the other political one in town, and Social Sanford's, for finding out what's really happening in town, if you can, buy a paper subscription (sometimes they have 2 for 1 deals) or get online access, www.sanfordherald.com. But write your letters. Make your voice heard. And do not care who it offends. You just might change somebody's mind. We have a country to save.
That being said follow these instructions taken directly from the Herald (taken from Opinion page in Friday's newspaper):
1) Each letter must contain the writer's full name, address, and phone number for verification. 2) Anonymous letters and those signed with fictitious names will not be published.3) Please limit letters to 350 words unless in response to another letter, column, or editorial.4) Mail letters to: Editor, The Sanford Herald, PO Box 100, Sanford, NC 27331; or take to the office. My recommendations!!Email it. Put your name, address and phone number in the email as well.Do not just send the email to RV Hight, hight@sanfordherald.com. Copy Mr. Horner, bhorner3@sanfordherald.com. And find a trusted friend that will allow you to use their email and copy them too. Copy not blindcopy. This is just in case the email gets lost. Trust me on this one.
Oh if you don't see your letter published within a week, ask why. The Editors state to please contact them at 919-708-9000 or by email because they say they publish every letter to the editor they receive.
It will be a 3% tax just for the city, not for the county or the Wicker Center.Another day. Another "let us tax again" drama scene from the Sanford City Council. This bunch just won't be happy until the line at the breadbasket forms all the way to Heins Palace. And we have plenty of fools in this town who believe they are owed our money.

That being said, the city council is proposing a [NEW] 3% Occupancy tax and will be petitioning the General Assembly for its approval. SOSDD. Yep. Same old stuff different day.
Sanford is a decent home town. I wouldn't call it a tourist spot, though. And even after incentive after incentive after incentive giving from the LEED Brat Pac and cohorts, we still have the highest unemployment in a four county radius. That's nothing to call home about. I would be remiss if I let you forget about property taxes. Lee County's rate is .75/$100. Compare that to Moore County which is .46/$100. Which county is prettier? You have three guesses and the first two don't count.
Anyway about this occupancy tax..I wonder how a certain gentleman who is a manager at the Hampton Inn feels about it? After all, those boys and girls on the city council who voted to do this have targeted his livelihood. Psssst: He's a LEED Pac Donor!
Might I ask: How's that LEED association benefiting you now, Mr. Woodruff? Or do you care? You're just an employee, right? Couldn't the boys who gather at The Flame persuade the council to give the Hampton Inn a break? After all, when the business privilege tax was passed the council conveniently let those in "their circle" escape while punishing others. Mr. Woodruff: Just a few more questions: I realize all I know about for now is the $100 you gave that helped finance those atrocious ads. But are you so into the back pockets of the other LEED donors that you're guaranteed their business and anyone associated with them?
Do you have the run on providing STEM conference attendees with accommodations/meeting rooms? How about visitors and vendors for the Pottery Festival? I'm just asking. Inquiring minds want to know. Tell me: Was it a "safe" pay to play transaction with Donnie and company? Again, just asking. Mr. Woodruff, you have every right to respond and state your opinion as much as I, a blogger, have to ask the questions. But if the above would ever be more than just an assumption, it won't matter what taxes are implemented because the "Inn" will be safe and sound.
I personally hope the General Assembly marks this "occupancy tax request" DOA. I suspect the council will try to bypass Representative Stone. He...
Final legislative votes for both bills are expected next week.

The House voted 70-44 to allow areas being annexed to stop the municipal expansion with a referendum requiring a majority vote. The margin of the vote suggests it might be difficult for supporters to override a veto if Gov. Beverly Perdue steps in.

(Break in article)...

Supporters of the legislation argued that cities have abused their annexation power over the years and that property owners have a right to be protected from cities that are just trying to expand their tax base.

The second bill cannot be blocked by a Perdue veto because it involves local issues. Citizens activists celebrated with House Speaker Thom Tillis after the votes.

Gridlock eases in many metro areas

"Traffic congestion dropped 30% last year from 2010 in the USA's 100 largest metropolitan areas, driven largely by higher gas prices and a spotty economic recovery, according to a new study by a Washington-state firm that tracks traffic flows.

That was the largest drop since the nation plunged into recession in December 2007.Of the 100 most populous metro areas, 70 saw declines in traffic congestion while just 30 had increases, says Jim Bak, co-author of the 2011 U.S. Traffic Scorecard for Kirkland, Wash.-based INRIX.
That was a reversal of what happened in 2010, when 70 had increases in congestion and 30 had declines. Tampa had the biggest increase in congestion, and Minneapolis the biggest drop."We're experiencing a stop-and-go economy right now," Bak says. "The data indicate the country may be experiencing the jobless recovery economists warned of during the recession."
............Bak says the data show that the reduction in gridlock on the nation's roads stems from rising fuel prices; lackluster gains in employment and modest increases in highway capacity because of construction projects completed under the federal stimulus program....."

Catholic organizations across the country file suit against contraception mandate

Some of the most influential Catholic institutions in the country filed suit against the Obama administration Monday over the so-called contraception mandate, in one of the biggest coordinated legal challenges to the rule to date.

Claiming their "fundamental rights hang in the balance," a total of 43 plaintiffs filed a dozen separate federal lawsuits challenging the constitutionality of the requirement. Among the organizations filing were the University of Notre Dame, the Archdiocese of New York and The Catholic University of America.

The groups are objecting to the requirement from the federal health care overhaul that employers provide access to contraceptive care. The Obama administration several months ago softened its position on the mandate, but some religious organizations complained the administration did not go far enough to ensure the rule would not compel them to violate their religious beliefs.

A statement from the University of Notre Dame said the requirement would still call on religious-affiliated groups to "facilitate" coverage "for services that violate the teachings of the Catholic Church."

"The federal mandate requires Notre Dame and similar religious organizations to provide in their insurance plans abortion-inducing drugs, contraceptives and sterilization procedures, which are contrary to Catholic teaching," the statement said.

Rev. John Jenkins, the president of Notre Dame, said in a message to the campus that the filing "is about the freedom of a religious organization to live its mission, and its significance goes well beyond any debate about contraceptives."

If this teacher was a Republican...and had allowed a student to speak his mind about President Obama, as this student has every right to do so, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, the NAACP Buffet leader William Barber and every DNC activist would be calling for her to be fired. Where's the outrage, leftists? None.

Where's the civility we are constantly told about? Let a teacher yell like this at my child and we will be meeting in the Principal's office. Let's just hope it's not in Southern Lee's Bonnie Almond's office or anyone else in the Super's back pocket who will definitely try to tell me that my child or grandchild should not speak up and this teacher was right!

I understand the respect deal. You respect the office. But she can't see the forest for the trees in what this kid is saying. Earth to liberals: We all came from dust. We all are equal in God's eyes. Obama is a MAN just like Romney. He isn't a God.

What arrogance!! I guess it's only a outrage when they don't get their way.

YOU DECIDE...
“It has been frequently remarked, that it seems to have been reserved to the people of this country to decide, by their conduct and example, the important question, whether societies of men are really capable or not, of establishing good government from reflection and choice, or whether they are forever destined to depend, for their political constitutions, on accident and force.” ― Alexander Hamilton, The Federalist Papers
So I was riding around with sugarbear and my hubby this afternoon looking for Skylanders. Those are characters that go with the Skylanders game for Wii, XBox 360, Nintendo 3DS, and PS3 consoles. (http://www.skylanders.com/). And it's freaking addictive!!
But classic tale of good guys vs bad guys. These characters are just so cute - and named so strangely: Trigger Happy (my favorite who shoots without thinking), Stump Smash, Gill Grunt, Wrecking ball, and many others. They kill the bad guys just like the Avengers: Captain America, Hulk, Iron Man, and Thor (who is down right gorgeous)! And I mean drop dead, rugged, let me be a damsel in distress, gorgeous! Girls, go see the movie. You'll know what I mean.

Rarely do you find heroes of that calibur. Rarely!
Anyway, every time I see a movie or get into a game of good vs evil, REAL people come to mind. Heroes like: Ronald Reagan, any soldier fighting for me, any officer who puts their lives on the lines each day for my safety, the fire and rescue units who went into burning buildings on 9/11, any Veteran, George Washington, my mama, and of course, PA! You get the gist, I'm sure.
Heroes are the same on Monday as they are on Sunday. They live by their principles and they are graceful in battle. They are not two-faced!
President Obama is not one of my heroes. I don't think he can distinguish the truth anymore. He says one day that his Christian faith tells him he must be for one man/one woman as marriage. And then last week comes out and says his Christian faith tells him the exact opposite! He tells us the wealthy are horrible. Cheaters. Strip the poor of all they got. Then turns around and chums with Clooney and others in Hollywood. The last I checked Clooney wasn't poor. He continually tells me my America is harsh, restrictive, and that I am a racist. He doesn't know me nor my America at all. That's why he's trying to change it. He is a "do as I say and not as I do guy". Nope. Doesn't meet the standards.
Same thing with alot of people. The truth doesn't matter. Just winning and destroying everything in their way. Leftists, liberals, Democrats and even some of those that pretend to be Republicans - national, state and local levels. Some are...
But now there's another one floating into view. The United States is running out of helium.Yes, helium. Thanks to a 1996 law that has forced the government to sell off its helium reserves at bargain-bin prices, the country's stockpile of the relatively rare and nonrenewable gas could soon vanish.

Because he's right! And it's happening all over the country. The Tea Party is not dead. Conservatism has not died. And those of us who know America's greatest days are ahead are not going away. But I'm afraid, though, we still have some old school Republicans who just don't see forward. In both the Democratic and Republican parties, there are good old boys who don't want to let anyone in. Those darn Conservatives might just make a scene and cause people to wake up and take notice! To the old schoolers: Stop looking backwards. Your way hasn't always worked. It may have for a while but move over and let others with great ideas LEAD the way. Because frankly compromise is a farce. Compromise means Republicans give in and Dems get their way! No more. Not if this girl can help it. "Game on." And to any other "R"s, if you don't stand by principle and stay focused, you'll be gone too!
But things just seem to keep coming up. Hey look the guy is our President. The media never scrutinized him like they did Cain, Palin, Romney, Rick, or any other GOP candidate that came along. And they won't ever give a pass to Republicans like they do Democrats.
That being said, it is quite interesting that in 2010, two years after Barack was elected, Michelle Obama candidly lets us know where his home country is. Now is she fibbing? She's his wife! SANFORD — A state Senate candidate has announced he will continue his campaign despite a loss in the May 8 primary — filing this week for a runoff election.“I am passionate about serving the people of Harnett, Johnston and Lee Counties. Put simply, I am the best candidate to face off against the Democratic nominee, and the only candidate in the race with a plan to improve the business climate in our area,” said retired U.S. Army Col. Ronald Rabin in a prepared statement. Rabin is one of four Republican hopefuls who sought the N.C. Senate District 12 seat.Rabin placed second in the primary race, with 27.86 percent of the vote. Former state Rep. Don Davis garnered 37.91 percent, Harnett County Commissioner Tim McNeill received 21.07 percent and pest-control business owner Daniel Glover finished with 13.17 percent. A runoff is possible if no candidate receives 40 percent or more of the vote.Last week, The Daily Record of Dunn reported that McNeill and Glover have announced their support for Davis should there be a runoff.According to the Harnett County Board of Elections, the runoff is set for July 17, and voters will choose between Davis and Rabin. This race marks Rabin's first run for elected office."Between now and July 17, I will campaign and work every day to earn the trust of voters across District 12," the candidate pledged in the statement. "My plan for getting people back to work is simple — cut taxes for families and small businesses, reduce regulations that are strangling small business owners, eliminate wasteful spending and support retraining programs that will equip people with the skills needed for the 21st century."Following his election-night win, Davis said, “I am very thankful for the votes I got out of Lee County. Lee County has always been good to me when I was running in the House. They did a super job of getting the vote out.”The runoff winner will face the Democratic nominee, Brad Salmon, in the November election.
