I’m back up at school to partake in Senior Week festivities so apologies for not posting in a hot minute. This week’s set is consumed with some dank live sets courtesy of the EDC NY madness that partook this past weekend. I can only imagine what went down because just from the sound of it and what I can get from these sets it must have been pretty absurd. Besides your new favorite sets from your favorite DJ’s I also have for ya’ll Dada Life’s awesome remix to Justin Bieber’s “Boyfriend” that actually bangs as well as some remixes on remixes that will get you right. To continue either your celebrations or academia cha boy has got a TT set packing some serious punch with a ton of EDM heavy hitting bangers courtesy of the world’s top DJ’s. This week set includes Tiesto’s previously unreleased remix to Kanye’s “Lost In The World,” which just got the OK from Kanye for Tiesto to drop on his podcast. Coming in hot are the official Jon Kilmer visuals for Dylan Owen’s track “In The Corner” off of his Keep Your Friends Close mixtape and they are impressive. The haunting production mixed with Dylan’s bars and flow on his verses are vicious and Kinetics’ verse is nothing to cry home about either. Kilmer does it again with some great imagery that fits the feel of the track like a glove and sets the stage for Mr. Owen to do big thangs and take the Iron Throne of the Young MC movement.

I’m blown away. I came across this video last night not expecting much but a crazy take on “Sexy and I Know It” and what I found what an amazing talent. My boy Noah here not only made an awesome, creative, and well performed arrangement of the track but the kid has an unreal voice. Like I didn’t believe at first it was him actually singing. His voice is so impossibly powerful and soulful kind of in that Dave Matthews-esque steez. Of course I had to dig deeper and as I expected his YouTube Channel had tons more videos in which he going HAM on covers and flexing those pipes. I would love to see Noah make it to the big show but for now make sure you support him by checking out his Facebook and Twitter pages.

After the unfinished version of this single off of his Chris Brown’s upcoming album Fortune was leaked a few months ago speculation has been high as to whether we would ever hear more about this fantastic Guetta/Breezy collab. Now finally this morning Brown dropped the Final version of this newest Mainstream EDM hit and I am pretty fired up about it. Guetta definitely stepped up his production game on this one adding some epic synths during the chorus that makes this jam a must download. I guarantee the download will be limited time only so make sure to grab that ish quick cause you don’t want to be the only kid in town without a banger…sorry I’m not sorry.

Yes. SWAG. This is priceless. SWOOP. The Based God does what the Based God wants and if he wants to spit his beautiful rhymes over some Titanic swag then dammit just let the man, just as long as he cooks first.

Well I guess DJ Drama didn’t think enough people were here so he decided to add heavy hitters Drizzy and Future to this Kane-Beatz-produced track. Drizzy does his thing on his verse mixing up his singing and rhyming steez and Future does…well I guess Future just does Future. Either way it is a nice track to start off your Friday afternoon and set your weekend off right.

Ed released the visuals for his track “Small Bump” off of his highly anticipated album Plus hitting the US on June 12th. The visuals definitely bring the emotion like the track, which is about the miscarriage of one of Ed’s close friends. The cat is crazy talented with his simple yet powerful and chilling vocals and I can’t wait to see him when he rolls into NYC on June 11th the eve of his big release.

The Hasidic rhymer and White Plains’ finest is back from my high school days with a slightly different sound but still spitting that hot fire. With definitely a more mainstream Maroon 5-esque sound than his reggae influenced jams from back in the day, “Sunshine” is a really catchy jam that hopefully will get Matty back in the game and remind people he is the king without a crown.

D-WHY released his official visuals to his sick track, “We Don’t Know” , his second single off of his forthcoming mixtape Don’t Flatter Yourself. The Jakob Owens-directed visuals are dope and definitely playing off Rihanna’s “We Found Love” swag. I like what I’m what hearing and look forward to hearing more of what he’s got for us in the tape.

Yesssssss. My radio game has been weak of the past couple of weeks so I am not sure if this has dropped and you’ve heard it a million times already but Flo Rida’s newest Top 40 moneymaker is an absolute JAM. How is it that after Flo Rida’s a millionth Top 40 track I am actually liking them more and more? Shouldn’t I be getting tired of them at this point? Right now all I can say is hell naw cause I’m about to get loose and crazy with the girlies on this one. Who wants to take some SHATSSS?

One of my favorite tracks off of Huey’s bomb mixtape A Boy Named Hue, the visuals, of course directed by the man Jon Kilmer, depict Huey, Mike, and the crew YOLO’ing it up at their sold out Santos Party Room Show. Dudes are absolutely doing their thing right now and I am not hating it…check this ish out ya dig.

One of my favorite up-and-comers G-Eazy released the official visuals to one of my favorite tracks of his “Marilyn” and I love it. The visuals, which were directed by the man Tyler Lee portrays a story of G-Eazy and his shorty that is short, yet powerful, emotional, succinct, and gets right to the point of G-Eazy’s self-produced track. Just a great work right here and G-Eazy is so impossibly swagged out in some of those outfits…damn.

For Timeflies Tuesday the boys paid tribute to the Beastie Boy’s fallen brother MCA by doing a sick remix to their notorious jam “No Sleep Till Brooklyn.” The track gets Cal back on his freestyle game picking words randomly out of bowl to rap about over Rez’s sick electro-fused rendition of the classic jam. Classic Timeflies Tuesday gold here so don’t miss out.

One would think MGK and Adele’s steez are polar opposites, but if you look a little closer it is actually pretty awesome. This track off of MGK”s Rage Pack samples Adele’s “Chasing Pavements” with Machine Gun Kelly’s fiery and explosive flow that ends up being a fire combination. Check this ish out and don’t forget to Lace Up.

My dude OnCue dropped the official visual for his dope track “Rich Kid” produced by Brenton Duvall and Cj Luzi earlier this week and the are simple yet effective. I absolutely love the emotion you can heart in his voice, makes you know he’s all real and I am all about it. Great ish right here can’t wait to hear new stuff from this cat.

This is a test post by that mean I am dropping some serious indie–funky-synth-electro rock on you fools. First up I have the newest jam by The Knocks that bangs as hard as electro synth rock does. Then RAC’s new track is a little slower but just as funky and infectiously danceable. Last but certainly not least is Passion Pit’s new fire which brings me back to Freshmen year of college like no other. It’s pretty much “Sleepyhead” meets Modest Mouse meets Fun…it’s that goodness.

The only thing more awesome than an indie-gone mainstream English group going HAM on an absolute Boner Jam is the fact that it’s produced by the game’s top producers Diplo and Dr. Luke…both hailing from the US of A. When you take Philly’s finest and mix it with the best from Westerly, Rhode Island what do you get? A genre-transcending international Top 40 chart topper…AMURICA.

PS The acoustic version above is pretty dope itself…I don’t hate it.

What’s happening? Is this a real song? Did this actually happen? The fine line between real/fake has been blurred out the ass when Childish released this track earlier today. Is Turquoise Jeep really for real? I don’t know but I’ll take it and it’s an absolutely great marketing play for everyone involved. My dude who crushed the Drake medley is back at it with his first single off his self-titled mixtape. SoMo is an aspiring R&B crooner who definitely has got some soul and accompanied by sick dubby beats like this one, he’ll do just fine. Check the track out and make sure to look out for his tape coming soon.

Just dropping off a real nice Hip/Hop/R&B set that set your either your Finals grind sesh or your casually agressive Tuesday night off right. Akon is back at it with adding his much missed vocals to “Danza Kuduro” as well as laying some pretty dope verses on his new track “Cashin Out” which is that ignant goodness. Also I have some nice R&B from newcomers Lolah Brown featuring Dunson, Aaron Michael Cox, and Quincy Combs, Diddy’s eldest son who has got some pipes for a youngin’.

If anything else make you check out the hilarious (and completely irrelevant) video above which is destined to be a viral hit. Fabrizio Goldstein and Jonathan Sollis are absolutely hysterical and awesome human beings and if they don’t get a movie deal soon it’s going to really grind my gears.

Meek Mill dropped his anticipated new mixtape at the beginning of the week and after giving it a listen my dude absolutely came to play on this tape. With Meek going so impossibly hard on each track with a sick flow this project with denounce all skepticism you may had of Meek Mill or the entire MMG team for that matter. I was a fan of Meek every now and again before listening to Dreamchasers 2 and now I’m down definitely down with this cat. With his ambition and the addition of great features (Wale, Big Sean, Drake, 2 Chainz, Rick Ross, Kendrick Lamar..etc) and a great production, Dreamchasers 2 is a must download.

Alright guys I know what you’re thinking but hear me out on this one… I got nothin. I first heard this track on Sirius and my boy Hard K and I both agreed it was an infectiously catchy B-Jam. Then I saw The Five Year Engagement yesterday (which was delightful I highly recommend it) which got me in the Rom-Com feel good mood and so I just had to post this jam so everybody could enjoy themselves…sorry I’m not sorry. This is just some catchy Top 40 Punk-Pop Rock with some great riffs, nice vocals, and a sing-a-long hook…what more do you need?

The Biebs released the official visual to “Boyfriend” late last night, the first single off his highly anticipated sophomore album, Believe, and let me tell ya guys this is some pretty crazy stuff. First off the Biebs does some stuff, then some girls do some stuff, then Biebs does some more stuff with some cars, then some other professional dancers do some more stuff…all taking place on a roof. Some really breath taking screen writing by Director X on this one but hey it’s a B Jam if I’ve seen one….Dale (Pitbull Voice).

A little late on the Timeflies Tuesday but hey, it’s cool. This week Rez puts a nice electro spin on Jay-Z’s NY anthem “Empire State of Mind” to commemorate their hometown and to build some hype for their show at Irving Plaza in NYC. This is some pretty good ish and a definite download for ya’ll Timeflies buffs…check it ’cause it’s just in time for that weekend playlist ya diggg.

Ye’ puts on for his city by rallying up his team to putt some GOOD Music flavor on Chicago rapper’s 16 year-old track “I Don’t Like” and the track goes pretty dang hard. I don’t hate it and Big Sean has been absolutely killing it on this GOOD Music collabs like it’s his job recently…love to.

After a couple of days of admittedly sleeping on this tape I finally today to listen to it from beginning to end in order to see what the hype has been about and let me tell you this hype is real. The Maryland native has serious rhyming skills, from murdering old school flows to transcending nicely into current Hip-Hop styles without skipping a beat…literally. The sample game and production on this tape is also out of control as Logic goes in on some of the best beats of all time as well today’s most recognized fire. Best believe I’ma have this thang on repeat for lil bit…along with “Loaded”

Hip-Hop’s man of the moment 2 Chainz had dropped the first single off of his highly anticipated Def Jam debut, Based On A T.R.U. Story due out August 14th and the as expected this ish BUMPS. Of course you have former Playaz Circle pimp 2 Chainz get in on his Trap Swag ultra nice with the Drizzy Drake laying down a real nice hook and killing his verse. Honestly I am warming up to 2 Chainz faster than a Toaster Oven and adding Drake to a track is like adding Peter Luger’s Steak sauce…it’s going to be good. Real pumped to hear these two perform it live on Drake’s Club Paradise Tour this summer. Check out the track below.

Usher and The Teflon Don collab for Usher’s third single off his upcoming anticipated album Looking For Myself. Jim Jonsin does his thing with an infectious seductive yet club-friendly production that works perfectly with Usher’s R&B crooning with an MMG approved Rozay verse…UGNHH. Check this ish out.

Fortune Family released their new track, “Spring” tonight, which is their second collaboration with Upper West and singer Melody Noel on the chorus. The track, produced by B-Nich, samples Sarah Bareilles “Uncharted” and is definitely a feel-good jam with some nice verses by the dudes. I fucking love this song. Dj Carnage hit us with the original video a little while back above which introduced this unreal production but I left it feeling unsatisfied after it ending after less than a minute and a half. So when I woke up this morning and saw Dj Carnage’s potential banger being filled out by a complimentary verse by up-and-comer G-Eazy I felt at ease. This track is so impossibly hot and I am anxious for this swag to hit your ears. FIREEE.

Not even going to lie I have grown to thoroughly enjoy B.o.B.’s “So Good” every time it comes on the radio…just a real nice sunny day jam. The poppy beat is so infectious it makes perfect sense to me that Mike got on here and used the production to compliment his flow nicely and hit us with his witty punchlines. Also Missy Modell does a great job putting some female vocals on the hook and making this a early summer jam fo’ show.

TT this week is prettyy crazyy with new new from some of our favorite DJ’s including including 3LAU, Yoni, Fred Falke, Dave Edwards, R3hab, and a dope EDMashup tape courtesy of Kap Slap you can hear on the set or download below. Timeflies dropped their Timeflies Tuesday last night mad late but fortunately for you guys the dudes did a sick electro-fused remix of Carly Rae’s “Call Me Maybe” that bangs for sure. From the visuals you can tell that these dudes enjoyed themselves in the making of this video so do yourself a favor and get loose and crazy on a Wednesday night…just sayin’.

After officially signing with RCA, Sammy Adams is back in the game trying to make it big on the Major Label level. Unfortunately, his first single “Blow Up” flopped and also learned that sampling yourself isn’t really that cool when he forgot that your songs you created before signing to a major still exist. However, with his most recent release, “Only One,” there looks like there still is some light yet for Boston’s boy. With an electro infused sound and an infectious and catchy production and verses that are shamelessly catered right towards that Top 40 market, Sammy can still have hope that he’s still got it.

Huey’s newest mixtape officially released yesterday and it is absolutely sure to please. With a bunch of feel good tracks including his single “About Us” as well as tracks like “The Times,” “Nothing Back,” and “I Want It All,” Huey is making some impressive music, finally showing that that grind is paying off. I am sure that this tape will be a success. This week’s fire deals with Collin McLoughlin absolutely going in with his vocals on Madeon’s dope track “Icarus” which starts this set off just right. After that I have Kap Slaps’s smash mash (intentional rhyme) of SHM’s “Greyhound” and the one and only “Call Me Maybe” that works seamslessly together. Other highlights include Wolfgang Gartner’s “Red Line” that bangs, an unreal set of Arty from his recent show in Denver courtesy of Barboss, and another fantastic essential mix of everyone’s favorite college DJ 3LAU. Wiz drops his first single off his second major label album, O.N.I.F.C. due out August 28th and it is exactly what you think it is going to be. With gritty Taylor Allderdice verses and Wiz singing a mainstream hook courtesy of a Benny Blanco/Stargate production, best believe you will be hearing this song a lot in the next couple of months. For now blast this ish while you’re ballin’ out this weekend, HERE WE GO.

Alright not going to lie I definitely slept on this track last week when it was released and everyone was going crazy over it. The worst part is that I don’t even have a good reason except for the fact that I might have been too caught up in Season One of the Wire…that ish goes hard though. Either way I finally came around to get on this track and as you would expect it’s not hotness in that ASAP Rocky way with the addition of some freshhh production.

In addition to the audio I also have this video of Rocky and Hit-Boy bantering in the studio and mixing the track. The making of tracks as well as the grind in the studio is something right up my alley and hopefully will make you appreciate the track even more.

Converse is at it again bringing together some of the freshest in music and making a feel good, great track. This time around Converse has called upon Foster The People’s Mark Foster, A-Trak, and Gotye associated Kimbra to make this a chic, catchy track that will get everyone going. So damn catchy and radio friendly right now it hurts. Plus the visuals are pretty ridiculous including some Mexican Wrestlers combined with your everyday hipsters…ain’t no thang.

We haven’t heard from these dudes for a little while but they are back with the official visuals for this rager track. The video portrays the Six crew repping the Bay by partying, drinking, and just straight up doing their thing and enjoying themselves to this dope beat. I wish these guys were making fire on a more consistent basis cause they could definitely be onto something. Aye it’s weekend time so lets get with these dudes…enjoy it.

I know I am a little tardy in showing you probably the best video of the year…but fortunately for you a video of the making of the making of “HYFR” was just went viral so you know I have to be all about it. The making of the video shows a little more into the banter of Drake’s crew as well as the just the several good times to be had during this shoot. The whole re-Bat Mitzvah concept is absolutely fantastic and so hilariously original I can’t get enough.

Visuals of my favorite track off of Mac’s latest project Macadelic. Sap does his thing on the beat and Mac is definitely going darker and more real ish on his lyrics which I am not hating. Real question right now though is if Mac is really on that lean. I feel nowadays that’s kind of what the cool kids and rap are doing (Drake, Weezy, 2Chainz) but has it become just something else to peacock about in your raps? I’m not really sure but from the looks of it I wouldn’t doubt Mac has been at least doing some experimenting on that stuff on account of some of those newly inked tats…

Anyways the track is dope and even though the visuals are pretty much what you can get off of the title I don’t hate it, so check it out.

Huey released this track a few days ago which I was immediately vibin to with Huey’s great flow on CJ Luzi’s bangin’ production. I have been a big CJ Luzi fan ever since he linked up with OnCue and started doing absolute work making great beats. The visuals for the track are pretty simple but effective in making me like the song even more and be on the look out for Huey’s mixtape A Boy Named Hue, out Monday.

What’s gucci everybody? Hope everyone on the East Coast is enjoying this fantastic weather and is ready for some beats to go with it. This week we got some big name bangers to go around including Tiesto’s and Hardwell’s fantastic rendition of The Naked and Famous’ “Young Blood.” which goes so impossibly hard. Also on the docket in this set is The White Panda’s first single of the year “Turn Marvin Gaye Down” mashing “Marvin Gaye & Chardonnay” with Kaskade’s “Turn It Down” that is infectious as hell and works perfectly to make a party smash. Speaking of Kaskade make sure you check out his remix to Usher’s R&B banger “Climax” above that goes has hard as the original was a smooth R&B jam. After that we some more new fantastic Hardwell as well as a huge party remix to everyone’s favorite Portuguese track, “Ai Se Eu Te Pego” that would make even Arnold Schwarzenegger from Batman & Robin want to come to the beach and enjoy himself.

There is no way that after watching this video are listening to this track that Macklemore has not brightened your day. Macklemore aka Ben Haggerty has mastered the knack of beautifully telling a story in his songs and with the help of fantastic production by partner Ryan Lewis makes Macklemore on of the most talented and unique artists in the game right now. The track off of the “XXL Freshmen List Mixtape” is a great jam and shows just why Macklemore is bringing something very special to Hip-Hop.

Earlier this week Hoodie released his highly anticipated new EP All American and to say that I was more than impressed would be an understatement. Coming off the success of last year’s mixtape Leap Year, Hoodie has taken his talents to the HNL with his witty word play, infectious hooks and Grade A production. Just from his music you can tell that Hoodie is a great dude who is having a great time doing what he loves…what more can you ask for? Above are the visuals to my favorite track off the EP “No Faith in Brooklyn” featuring Jhameel that is a great example of how powerful playful clever verses and catchy hooks can be. You can also check the visuals to his equally catchy first single, “No Interruption” after the jump.

Bottom line is Hoodie is the man and you have to be kidding me if you don’t cop this EP off of iTunes…you’re missing out on something big.

It’s clear that Mac has surpassed the honeymoon period of his rise to fame and has started to reflect on the troubles of stardom in a pretty dark sense. The majority of the tracks are dope as hell with some features including Juicy J, Weezy, and Lex Luger on production. This is the realest ish Mac has put out yet and I am absolutely loving it.

Hey ya’ll TT this week is real nice and chic with some progressive and electro EDM that will set you right. This week’s set includes fire from the likes of another huge Calvin Harris production collabing with Ne-Yo, Sidney Sampson, Sex Ray Vision, Felix Cartal, Matisse & Sadko and Daddy’s Groove…all absolute musts for this weeks as well as future party sets. So many bangers not enough time so do it to it and rage.

My motherfucking man. Here is a relatively new track from Eddie or maybe I have just come across it, either way I absolutely love it. Dude is so damn talented. This track highlights his chilling vocals that cut you to the core, as well as his simple, smart, yet powerful and emotional lyrics. The more I think about it the more I agree with the ongoing comparison of him as the male Adele, but at the same time in my eyes he is way better. Damn straight I will endure a Snow Patrol show this spring to see this dude it is absolutely worth it…plus Snow Patrol is pretty solid. The downloadable track is a rip but the best quality I could find that wasn’t live. Plus the video above is an absolute must watch of the magic that is Ed Sheeran.

This week on TT I got tracks on tracks on tracks and it’s all that good stuff. The set has got that new new from Benny Benassi, the Prodigy that is Madeon, DJ Trademark, a sick Timflies remix to Outasight’s “Tonight is the Night” and more. Yesss my good old friend Cudi is finally back. As the release of WZRD is just around the corner he released yesterday this track which has been floating around since 2008 but has become somewhat of a myth to Cudi fans as what it actual purpose or if it would ever be officially released. To everyone’s surprise Cudi dropped the CDQ yesterday and it is dope. Cudi’s flow is reminiscent of his A Kid Named Cudi days and I am feeling the shit out of this. Although I know that WZRD is somewhat of a far cry away from this sound stints like these assure his fans that although his sound may have changed for now (and not necessarily for the worse) at heart Mr. Rocker is still Mr. Rager.

This week’s on-time TT has got a bunch of rips, but rips of what dope ish there is to come. This includes rips of massive singles including Steve Angello’s new track, “Yeah,” Alesso’s “Years” and the vocal mix to Sebastian Ingrosso and Alesso’s massive “Calling” which is now called “Losing My Mind.” Shit is so dope it gave me chills when I was working out today…it’s the real deal. These tracks are rips of Swedish House Mafia’s show on BBC Radio sitting in for Pete Tong and absolutely murdering it, I have the link to the show here. Also have a great remix of Katy Perry’s newest single “Part of Me” courtesy of Sex Ray Vision as well as some chic remixes from Shlohmo and Jean Tonique doing the damn thing on a remix to the Kooks’ “Naive.” Also make sure you check out Alex Metric’s remix to Niki & The Dove’s “Mother Protect” after the jump, thats a real nice track. Just overall bangers for overall good times.

You also may ask yourself why is the song posted above here. This track “Call Me Maybe” by Carly Rae Jepsen is an absolute Boner Jam recommended to me by my boy Ryan at Notre Dame and this shit is right up my alley…simply irresistible. When I checked iTunes I was suprised that it had been out since September because it is such a hit, however no worries because it is about to catch full steam in the US. Like you are lying to yourself if this song is not your guilty pleasure. Ryan nailed it when he said it is a combination of “Party in the USA meets Vanessa Carlton.” Even J. Beibs and his whole Disney crew are killing it over this track so you know it is blowing up. Shit goes so hard in it’s own right and you better bet next time I’m out I am getting loose and crazy to this track…you know what’s up.

There is no hiding I am a Drake enthusiast. So when someone makes a dope musical medley that serves as a quintessential Drake Highlight Tape if you will, there is no denying it in my eyes. Joseph SoMo with the musical accompaniment of Cody Tarpley successfully summarizes all of Drake’s Jams that I think even furthers my love for the guy if that is even possible. After researching this guy I realized he is absolutely killing it in the making R&B covers and has an original EP on the way…I don’t hate it, hell a supporter of Drake’s music is my best friend of mine any day.

If you have seen me in the past two weeks you would know that Ed Sheeran is my fucking boy. Caught him on YouTube and shit just spiraled out of control. It’s only been two weeks but I’ve crushed his EP’s on iTunes like there is no tomorrow, know dem shits by heart as well as his other absolute jams. You know I can’t resist a good singer/songwriter, ish cuts me to the core real quick. He plays guitar, sings, beatboxes, and even raps? Love to. The dude is also becoming a legend in the UK being only 20 and I think has the record for most digital sales ever over there. Anyways he released this free EP with Yelawolf who is doing some big thangs in his own right right now as well as being a pretty talented rapper. Therefore putting the two together is something I don’t hate and you should definitely check out. I have also posted above the video for my favorite Ed Sheeran jam “Lego House” with the visuals featuring Ron Weasley himself. Oh hell yes. My dude OnCue has recently dropped two new tracks and they both BANG. Rich Kid is a genius artist-producer collaboration if I have ever seen one. The production skills of Brenton Duvall and OnCue’s right-hand man CJ Luzi combined with the unique creativity and sound of OnCue makes from some unreal Indie Rap. Hip-Hop be ready, I’ve been saying this since forever but when this kid makes it is going to be a glorious day…and I will be there saying I told you so.

Coming off the success of A Toast To Tommy, we finally have some new material from Mr. Stud. This time he collabs with Grammy-Nominated producer to make a nice track responding to all of the haters. Solid stuff right here and I look forward to hear what’s coming up next for my dude.

Chi Duly got crazy love this week from The Weeknd himself, getting co-signed indicating that this shit bangs. Make sure you check the YouTube of Diplo’s and Usher’s new collab which is an absolute R&B jam. Serious props for Diplo successfully pulling off that kind of production I didn’t think he had it in him. Mike Stud’s brand new visuals from A Toast to Tommy‘s track “Happy Ending” is probably one of his best yet. With some unbelievable direction by Jon Kilmer who has been killing it recently, the two are able to paint some chilling and powerful imagery of the lives of three people and the result is great. This past week I have unfortunately ran into some health issues which has distracted me from doing my job, that is, to provide you the freshest music on a daily basis. I will let you all know I will be OK but I have to have surgery this afternoon which will put me out of commission for a couple days but I as well as FOC will be back better than when I come back let me tell you. I got a bunch of things up my sleeve that I am very excited to share with you once they are finalized but you can be sure that FOC is coming back this semester on some other shit…no doubt.

What’s gucci everybody? This week’s TT is on that high energy ish with some EDM bangers that will keep you going and great for getting ‘Toned up in the gym. With 2 new Avicii bangers, one collab with the multi-talented NERVO twins and the other sounding incredibly dope (although I have some skepticism as to the legitimacy of this actually being a Avicii and Taio Cruz track but thats OK). Besides some insanely cool remixes and mashes of today’s hottest tracks I have an alternate download for some David Guetta new new featuring Chris Brown that is some damn Fire and the best song to come out of 2012 yet. Techno Tuesday (Jan 17th) by Fresh On Campus

Cudi, one of the headliners of the Heatwave Festival in South Australia two days ago debuted the full version of his upcoming single, “Teleport 2 Me” and although this is obviously not CDQ it sounds dope as hell and I can’t wait for the official release of the single. Cudi also announced today that he is delaying the release of his upcoming album, WZRD from January 30 to February 28 which is a bummer but I think is a power move in building more and more hype for this project for his fans and it is a smart marketing move for Scott. Looking forward to hearing more tracks from the project and I am keeping my fingers crossed and keeping hope that it will be worth the wait.

To be honest I had no idea who Michael Francis was prior to hearing this track but after one listen I immediately loved this guy. Michael takes one of the most underrated 90′s R&B tracks as well as one of my favorite and puts a little electro modern spin on it…how can I deny that? His vocals work perfectly with the innovative production of Cito On The Beat, making this track an absolute banger. I hope this dude pulls out more of these heaters and make sure you get an advanced copy of his upcoming Cold Heart Chronicles EP here

Previously a collab with Chi-Town MC Jon James, this now solo version is a high energy lighter track that shows off Rocky’s persona in a different light but still bangs. Looking forward to hearing more from this dude and hearing about his highly-anticipated tour kicking off on January 26.

Celebration by Fresh On Campus

Sorry to be a minute late on this guy but this video is a must-post. Collin does what he does best to the HNL on this track in which he mashes Adele’s “Someone Like You,” Katy Perry’s “The One That Got Away,” and Rihanna’s “We Found Love” in seamless and flawless fashion. All of Collin’s renditions are just so damn smooth and I feel like that voice can crush any song regardless. Jon Kilmer, a household name now in directing dope videos, does a great job on these visuals that accompany an awesome track.

At first glance this cover or Rozay and Drizzy’s track by Mr. Posner probably doesn’t seem like it would work, but this thing works in an awesome way. Blackbear croons over the Teflon Don’s hard verse and Mike creatively spices up Drizzy’s with the addition of some keys and his usual unique vocals. Great play by them also to do away with French Montana’s verse, ish is bougie as hell.

If you haven’t heard the original track off of Rick Ross’s latest mixtape, Rich Forever I have included it in the set so you can get a nice comparison to the cover, it’s real nice.

10. “Not Over You” by Gavin DeGraw

Did I start this countdown off with a track coming way out of left field? Yes. Does that mean I don’t absolutely love this song and I am not afraid to say it? Absolutely not. Like I said this is my personal opinion and in my opinion my boy Gavin absolutely did his thing in pursuit for a comeback via this track. Co-written by Ryan Tedder of OneRepublic, “Not Over You” is the quintessential “Boner Jam”: catchy chorus, great melody, and has Top 40 written all over it. Unfortunately, this track is not getting the love it deserves because you have everybody “Moving Like Jagger” and taking up all the spotlight from this song which is absolute Horse Shit. You can say what you want about my first pick because I know it is controversial because I have never even mentioned it on the site but it looked as though this track was going to come and go without getting the recognition it deserved and I couldn’t let that happen. To quote myself during a Taylor Swift concert in London, “I love this shit!”

9. “Motivation (Remix)” by Kelly Rowland Feat. Lil Wayne, Trey Songz, Fabolous, & Busta Rhymes/”Sure Thing (Remix)” by Miguel Feat. Pusha T

Helll yeah boi these tracks are my joints right here. First off, if you didn’t find yourself loving “Motivation” as your guilty pleasure then we got problems. My girl Kelly absolutely went in with the sexy on this one, showing up her peer Beyonce in both vocals, appeal, and overall swag and showing her up real nice. Also you got to show love to the producers of the track Jim Jonsin and Rico Love, because this production is on point. If I ever meet those dudes I’m going to give them a serious dap for bringing back Mainstream R&B back to it’s glory days of the Late 90′s and Early 00′s with a production so smooth it could even make Ginuwine and Usher feel awkward in comparison. And note I have put the Remix because Mr. Steal Your Girl, Busta, and Fab take the track to the HNL and make it one of the hottest R&B tracks of the year and officially putting Ms. Rowland back on the map. I also got to talk about my man Miguel because I know he has spoken out about being snubbed out of Grammy Nominations this year an the man has a point. I mean theres a reason why this track is the top played song on my iTunes (Yes I admit it and I don’t hate it). Miguel has a unique smooth sound along with the production on this track makes for pure listening bliss. It is like you can hear the emotional pain and anguish in his crooning which you really can’t hear in many artists of today. Isn’t that what the “B” in R&B is all about? Also Pusha T absolutely kills it on his verse on the remix and is probably one of the most underrated verses of the year. R&B is making a powerful coming in music right now, primarily lead by artists such as Kelly and Miguel but directed into a new frontier as I will explain later on in the countdown.

8. “Freaks and Geeks”/”Bonfire” by Childish Gambino

I absolutely love this dude. Donald Glover AKA Childish Gambino is straight killing it in life right now, whether it’s writing for 30 Rock or starring in Community or releasing music as Childish Gambino. To put in perspective what he as accomplished as a rapper given all of his other endeavors is absolutely amazing. 2011 was a huge year for Donald releasing the absolute banger “Freaks in Geeks” this past spring establishing himself as an elite master of witty and clever hard hitting punchlines that made Weezy even seem unoriginal (Sorry Weezy the whole jail thing really did a number on ya…I tried to enjoy Tha Carter IV I really did). He even went head to head with Drizzy in the release of his first album Camp which did surprisingly well for an up-and-coming artist (Mind you he is balancing dominating three spectrums of our Popular Culture, not the easiest thing in the world). I love Childish because he is a real artist, something becoming more prevalent in music but not as much as it should. He know exactly who he is and what he is all about and that is what he talks about in his songs, I swear he talks more about why people hate on him than actually talking about his success, something you never hear rappers of today talk about unless you’re Eminem in the final battle in 8 Mile. Does that make him a pessimist or just a realist? I’m not sure and as far as am concerned it doesn’t matter. As long as he keeps putting out clever and catchy rap songs and real lyrics he’ll be just fine and push the rap game into a direction it has yet to see. I mean the guy was in Forbes Magazine’s “Top 30 Under 30,” he’s going to be alright and I don’t hate it.

7. “We Found Love” by Rihanna

This song is so damn good. Calvin Harris made the perfect beat that is so impossibly Poppy but appeals to EDM scene just the same and Rihanna is so damn likable and her vocals are irresistible. Rihanna successfully made the perfect party track on this one…dude’s AND chicks be getting loose and crazy to this one. Rihanna was the hottest female artist of the year and this track is the reason why. That’s pretty much all I have to say about this track but I don’t think I have much reason to say anything else…this track is unreal.

6. “Give Me Everything” by Pitbull Feat. Ne-Yo & Nayer

I distinctly remember the first time I heard this song: It was on my birthday and I was in an apartment in Barcelona pre-gaming to see Afrojack DJ at my favorite club in the world Opium Mar right on the beach at Port Olympico. The moment I heard this song I knew it was something special and needless to say that ended up being the best night of my life. Aside from the fact that this track was a huge commercial success and you probably are just becoming more accepting to listen to it again after it was rotated like crazy over the radio but you can’t deny that this song absolutely killed. My man and one of my favorite DJ’s in the world Afrojack absolutely did his thing on the production on this making a sick Electro-pop track that appealed to the masses while staying somewhat true to his own form. Ne-Yo crushes the chorus (How convincing is he when he tells you to “grab somebody sexy and tell them hey”? Oh hell yeah he sounds like that shit actually works)T and Pitbull actually does a nice job on the bridges (Where is Nayer exactly on this track?) One of the first songs this year showing the success to be had bridging the gap between EDM and Mainstream music, this track was a universal chart-topper and for good reason. As I wrote as my thesis for my final paper for my Latin Music class this semester, Pitbull has found a unique niche in American Mainstream music that has allowed him to change his sound and persona to the popular music of the times allowing him to remain relevant in American culture. Thus, Pitbull is not going anywhere anytime soon and I bet you we’ll be seeing a lot of tracks that are carbon copies of “Give Me Everything” hit the Top 40 charts in 2012.

5. “All of The Lights (Remix)” by Kanye West feat. Lil Wayne, Big Sean, & Drake

Oh damn this was that shit right hurr. The thing that makes this track so banging is that it had the perfect balance of quality and quanity: high quality artists killin unreal verses. Weezy, Big Sean, and especially Drizzy…all these dudes just straight banggg. Also this track was notable as it was Drake’s debut into 2011 and in a huge way. That verse was something serious…absolutely loved it and I love him as you will see later on in the countdown.

4. “Ni**as in Paris” by Jay-Z & Kanye West

This shit was cray…nuff said. Dudes expanded their egos with banger tracks and it paid off in a huge way. Rapping about being bosses and running the world is pretty dope isnt it? Also Hov had an exceptionally good verse so that was nice to see.

3. “I’m On One” by DJ Khaled Feat. Drake, Rick Ross, & Lil Wayne

By far the best hook of the year, similar to the “All of The Lights (Remix)” just a high quantity of high quality rappers absolutely killing it on their verses. “I walk around the club…fuck everybody.” You are lying to yourself if you didn’t yell that line out when this song was on while you belligerently drunk at least 30 times.

2. “The Morning”/Essentially All of House of Balloons by The Weeknd

2011 was the year of the Weeknd. By himself revitalizing the R&B genre this year I absolutely love this dude. His sound and the auroa around his music and production are so impossibly unique and needs to be applauded. Like DJ Khaled said, he da best.

1. The Entire Take Care Album Plus The Other Stuff Drake Dropped This Year

You had to of known this one was coming. Literally every track this year from “Dreams Money Can Buy” to “Marvin’s Room” to “Club Paradise” was groundbreaking in it’s own right and 2011 was a much needed year for Aubrey to shift in his image in a way that is most true to him as well as appealing to his fans. I do have an unbelievably bias towards Drake and at this point he would have to do something pretty horacious to get me off this wagon. I love him so much and you should too.

Oh damn ya’ll you know what time it is: The Dean’s Official List of the Top Ten Songs of 2011. However because I thought that one list for an entire year really couldn’t do it justice, I have decided to split up my rankings into another category of the Techno Tuesday-Sponsored Top Ten Techno songs of 2011.

While last year it literally took me three days of continuing process of elimination, creating multiple playlists and slimming my potential candidates for best songs of the year one by one in a gruesome process. This year however I came up with an efficient as well as the same if not more thoughtful plan to banging out these lists: for lack of better, less corny words I essentially went with my gut with these picks. Of course I did my standard “Start at 1/1/2011 on your iTunes and proceed to scan upward” process of creating an entirely massive playlist of the most notable songs of this past year, but from there as opposed to last year it was fairly easy to narrow the list down to ten.

Actually arranging the ten into order is a completely different story, that shit is hard as hell and I could easily be convinced and argued into switching a couple of these around, but at a certain point I had to stand my ground as to where all of these tracks go. Also probably the most important thing to consider when looking at these lists is that these are my personal picks for the top songs of the year based on the criteria I use and have made up in my head to judge every track I post on FOC as well as every track that I have ever come across. If you want an “Official” list of the most qualified songs of the year google the Associated Press or the New York Times I am sure they have fantastic established and rational criteria for their picks. This is not how FOC rolls, my picks are not based on sales or chart rankings but essentially what sounds good to my ears and as Will Ferrel says, “get the people going,” because I know that in your heart of hearts you feel the same.

With that being said, let’s get this countdown started shall we. Note: EDM stands for Electronic Dance Music

10. “Sun & Moon (Original Edit) (Feat. Richard Bedford)” by Above & Beyond
Damn these dudes opened my eyes this past year. It was only around two or three years ago where I really started to immerse myself in the whole electro scene. From there I started primarily listening to that Cascada-esque “David Guetta Happy Shit” vocal house that was probably being played on z100 and since then have made great strides in my appreciation and love for all spheres and spectrums of EDM. This past Winter/Fall I started listening to Trance and it was mainly because of these guys. Tracks like “Sun & Moon” are groundbreaking because even though they fall into the Trance genre and sound, Above & Beyond added vocals to seamlessly make it appealing to the younger American generations who are absolutely eating up the vocal house genre (Being crushed by Avicii which we will talk about later). I chose this track not just because Richard Bedford’s haunting vocals with Above & Beyond’s production absolutely crushed it but also because this track opened my eyes to another spectrum of EDM and a little sneak peek of what’s to come in the current explosion of Electro in the USA. If you are a fan of Trance definitely check out Myron & Shane’s remix to Jessie J’s “Domino” on this week’s Techno Tuesday…shit is bomb and shouts to my man Bossylicious for the looks on that one.

9. “Jagger Bomb”/”Yacht Week In America” by 3LAU & “Vamos A Los Levels” by The Friendly Giant
Just when I thought the Mash-Up genre was on it’s last leg…I was only kinda right. With the fall of the “GirlTalk-esque” mashup, and the constant flow of EDM influencing American Culture nonetheless the college party scene, 2011 saw the rise of the Electro-House Mash-Up DJ in a huge way. My main man 3LAU had a HUGE year with the likes of “Jagger Bomb” catapulting him onto the scene as well as “Yacht Week In America” becoming one of my anthems this summer and probably my favorite of his tracks. The Friendly Giant did their thing as well this year with “Vamos A Los Levels” which is the quintessential party banger, shit just get’s you going. Add names like Sex Ray Vision, Yoni, Jeff Rowe, DJ Trademark, and you literally have yourself a party, and in 2011 possibly one of the best parties of the year. The Electro-House Mash-Up DJ’s look like there not going anywhere in 2012 and as long as the US crushes EDM and the idea of partying is still cool, then I don’t see any reason why it should.

8. “Lights (Bassnectar Remix)” by Ellie Goulding
All year I have said how hesitant I have been in accepting Dupstep as a growing and popular genre but as 2011 comes to a close I can’t deny it anymore…Dubstep did it’s thing this year. It managed to not only gain a crazy following along the likes of DJ’s like Skrillex and Nero but also hit up Mainstream in ways I could never imagine (On Christmas Night NBC Sports played Dubstep during the Packers-Bears Game in a segment comparing the Passing Yard totals for the top quarterbacks this year…who knew Dubstep was the appropriate genre for that?) With the lovely Ellie Goulding providing the vocals, Bassnectar’s remix of Ellie Goulding’s “Lights” was an absolute banger, my favorite Dubstep track of the year with Skrillex’s “Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites” a close second, as well as Bassnectar’s track being a great example of exactly how mainstream Dubstep can be. However despite all this nice talk about the genre I personally have some issues with this womp-womp genre especially the harder stuff…I just don’t really get the appeal. Will I ever give Dubstep the credit it deserves? probably not, but at least I’m self aware of my ignorance.

7.”Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall (Avicii Remix)”/Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall (Swedish House Mafia Remix)” by Coldplay
While the original Coldplay track was already a banger, the best DJ’s in the game took it upon themselves to take this track to the HNL and one of EDM’s best tracks of the year. Both Avicii and SHM took their own separate and unique approaches to make the track better by highlighting in their opinion its best attributes while at the same time maintaining both artists’ signature sounds. Besides both being from Sweden, what these artists also have in common is that they have perfected the essentials of house music: killer vocals mixed with an absolute banger drop, which is clear in both versions of this track. Both were so impossibly good in their own right so they are sharing the title of number 6 on my chart here, sorry I’m not sorry

6.”Pressure (Alesso Remix)” by Nadia Ali, Starkiller, & Alex Kenji
While Avicii and SHM had monster years in 2011, Alesso was not far behind. With tracks like “Pressure,” “Good Love” and “Calling” a collab with SHM’s Sebastian Ingrosso, this 19 year-old DJ produced some of the most popular tracks of the year and earned his spot and title as the “Next Big Thing” in EDM. I chose Alesso’s “Pressure” remix because the vocals are so damn good and the production is so epic with that Alesso’s unique sound. I have a crazy theory that Alesso’s style of house has rubbed off on the likes of Avicii (Listen to Alesso’s ish and then listen to some of Avicii’s new tracks performed in his set at the Armory in DC and you’ll see what I mean). Anyways the kid is only 19 meaning that their is a crazy bright future ahead for Alesso, don’t be suprised if you see him make a huge jump in DJ Mag Top 100 DJ’s…just sayin.

5. “Buy My Love (Fareoh Remix)” by Wynter Gordon
I’m going to call it now, Fareoh is a name you will be hearing a lot of in 2012. Taking a page out of Avicii’s book, Fareoh is utilizes Wynter Gordon’s sexy vocals on his catchy as hell production that feels so damn good. The track is an absolute banger in every sense of the word. This is just a great track straight up. If you have heard the track you know what I’m talking about and if you haven’t you’re missing out big time. Hopefully Fareoh keeps doing his thing next year and will become the next big-name DJ out of the USA since Kaskade…that would be nice and also is entirely possible just watch.

4. “Party Rock Anthem (Sex Ray Vision Remix)” by LMFAO
At this point in the year the whole LMFAO and “Party Rock Anthem” thing might be a little too repetitive to want to hear, but you gotta admit that at the pinnacle of this track this shit was soooo dope. Like wasn’t it #1 on iTunes for an aggressively long time? Like “Buy My Love,” the chorus was so damn catchy you can’t resist it. You have to sing it, and if you can’t sing it you whistle. I chose the Sex Ray Vision remix for two reasons: 1, I personally think these guys killed the production for the track more so than LMFAO, and 2. Sex Ray Vision also had a monster year and are going to keep killing it in the Electro-Pop Genre as well as furthering the trek of the EDM Mash-Up DJ. Remixed or not this track was without a doubt a milestone in the year 2011 and worthy to be high on this list.

3. “Feel So Close”/”Bounce” by Calvin Harris
To say that Calvin Harris has a huge year in 2011 is an understatement. The dude crushed the electro-dance scene, then crushed the American Mainstream, and then help solidify the bridge between the two. First off, the guy crushed his track “Bounce,” an anthem during the early Summer days and a hit in both the EDM and mainstream spheres. He also partially revitalized the career of the struggling Kelis. Then, Rihanna asks for his skills in producing “We Found Love” and we all know how that turned out…arguably the song of the year. Please note that I consider that track more Pop than Electro and thus is the reason you don’t see it on THIS list… please don’t hurt me. “Feel So Close” really did it for me though. Calvin Harris did an unbelievable job with the vocals that worked so well with the classic Calvin Harris sound. Calvin Harris has really outdone himself when it comes to making strides in creating dance tracks…dude has taking his career to the HNL and 2011 definitely proves it.

2. “Save The World Tonight” by Swedish House Mafia
Remember the 18,000 versions of this track I posted on FOC? Months before it’s official release every time a break through occured regarding this song I was on top of that ish that white on rice…and now you know why. SHM absolutely killed it this year playing the first ever sold-out DJ show in MSG, an historic moment for EDM and this song is a major reason why. When I heard this track for the first time I was sure it was the best techno song I had ever heard. John Martin had the perfect vocals on top of the perfect production, with the perfect bridge over the perfect buildup and of course that chorus…what is there to really say about it? Steve, Ax, and Sebastian went H.A.M. on attempting to make the perfect house track and they came as close as anyone has in recent years to do it, it is almost heavenly. The track is so happy and so positive when it’s played it’s like it brings out the best in the people, it just has that kind of positive impact.

1. “Levels” by Avicii
Well you had to have known this was coming. In the EDM world, this was Avicii’s year. EDM has been pushed into the American mainstream and into the minds of younger generations in large part by Mr. Berg (See “Good Feeling” by Flo Rida and “Collide” by Leona Lewis) and that deserves to be noted as one hell of an accomplishment. While “Fade Into Darkness” had a stellar year with it’s upbeat production and killer vocals that was on a level above the rest it still was dusted by one song, the EDM song of the year. “Levels” was not only the EDM anthem of the US, but became a Universal anthem and a Global phenomenon. People all over the world can recite that melody and that Etta James’ chorus, damn the power of a catchy track…bringing the entire world together through techno…I love it. “Levels” is not only a testament to Avicii as the rising heir to the throne of House but also a testament to how globally powerful a following EDM has grown in 2011…shit is getting massive son and we’ve only seen the beginning.

This weeks TT is technically also the New Year’s Rendition but since I have my Dean’s New Year Special post on Thursday I didn’t think it was absolutely necessary to shower Techno Tuesday with NYE love just yet. Anyway, this week contains a MASSIVE set of fire that I am not sure ya’ll are ready for. So many damn Vocal Progessive House bangers it’s just not OK. Not exactly many tracks from any big names (Besides Skrillex’s Official “Breathe” track now called “Summit” with Ellie Goulding) but are still so damn good and together make up for good times all around and honestly the best NYE pregame set on the internet…that’s right I said it. Get ready because this set is on some other ish.

Well, with Abel Tesfaye dropping the final mixtape Echoes of Silence of his trilogy, it is safe to say that 2011 was the year of the Weeknd. Yet to open up this bad boy but it is hard to say that it is not going to be absolutely bomb. Kicking off with House of Balloons which in my opinion was the best mixtape of the year, Abel has taken the year 2011 to completely revolutionize and re-jump the genre that is R&B with his unique and unbelievably vocals backed up by his groundbreaking production and overall aura that surrounds his music. That is all I will say for now but best believe you’ll hear more of my two cents regarding the Weeknd on the annual Dean’s Top Ten Songs of 2011 list coming December 29th, 2011…that’s right I said it get ready.

It may also have to do with the fact that this beat sort of reminds of “Dilemma” for some weird reason but I don’t hate it. Killing a creative production sampling “PONPONPON” by Japanese Pop Star Kyary Pamyu Pamyu, G-Eazy makes a fun, light, catchy and overall dope track with great vibes. Love G-Eazy’s delivery and whole persona he conveys on his songs as it goes real well with the production. This single art is also hilarious mimicking the movie poster, not going to lie.

Real dope chill track that sounds more like Kid Cudi featuring The Far East Movement and Chip Tha Ripper than vice versa but it’s all good. I am real stoked for Kid Cudi to get back on top of his game, especially now with HBO “How To Make It In America” so he has absolutely no excuse not to go in on his ish in regards to the music sphere. This one feels nice with a little hint of that electro Far East Movement sound so enjoy yo’ self with this one.

I was in the studio last night when I realized I had just hit 10,000 fans. I’ve been writing a bunch of music recently as I continue to work on my debut project, Phases. While Phases is a story in itself, I still find myself with a bunch of other stories I want to tell due to other experiences and changes in my life etc. I got inspired to write Shangri-La and recorded it yesterday. Here at FOC I enjoy shedding light on up-and-comers who embody talent and have crazy potential to become very successful. This right here is one of those moments. Reef, one-half of one of FOC’s favorites Fortune Family collabs with another up and coming talent and FOC soldier Dylan Owen on this incredibly impressive track. I love Reef’s delivery and flow on his verse that has a unique appeal I can’t put my finger on at the moment, as well as Dylan bringing his persona to the table as well, equally as effective. The production is absolutely on point and Grace nails the hook. Jon Kilmer is becoming the Scorsese of the “up-and-coming rapper” music video nailing the concept on this one. This is really an awesome project and I hope to hear more from these two artists as well as Dylan’s Keep Your Friends Close EP which I am definitely excited to hear.

Dreams feat. Grace Kelly (Prod. August Coupe) by Fresh On Campus

Ok real talk everybody, finals has got me on some other ish right now. I thought I was ready to handle them but clearly I wasn’t. Academia has got the best of me because I am not sure where I am right now, what I’m studying, I actually feel drunk hence the TT title this week. Anyways I know posts have been delayed for a minute and Techno Tuesday is on the later side but it’s all good because as of Saturday this guy is back in the 914 for good and all is well. This sets’ headliner might very well for the first time be a Dubstep track, that is, Skrillex’s “Levels” remix so that might not even count. Unfortunately I was slow on the gun to get that up onto SoundCloud but hit up the DL link courtesy of SITR. Also this week we have a plethora of well done techno mash-ups from my boys Sex Ray Vision, Yoni, and Kap Slap that have been perfect for crushing study sessions as well as some fire vocal trance, a sick rock cover of “Raise Your Weapon” just cause it’s awesome, as well as James Blake’s official “take” on electro/dubstep on his track “Love What Happened Here” which to me sounds pretty decent and on the soulful side. After having to listen to him countless times at work this summer without any clue of what was going on in his music, I am starting to warm up a little bit to his more popular tracks but his sound is definitely an acquired taste so we’ll see where that goes.

It’s only right that I pull an Andy Reid now and say that the delays are on me because no doubt they are. My bad guys you know I love you and that Finals is the time where you need new music the most. Hang in there and look forward for new hotness coming your way.

PS. Just reviewed all of the vocal trance in here and it is absolutely fire, like Armin Van Buuren-eque ish up in here so if you aren’t familiar with the names of the tracks in the beginning of the set such as Project 46, Badisco or Shogun no worries because chances are it’s some vocal trance goodness. Also the “Tonight in Babylon” remix is not the finest quality but the best I could find. Still a must listen because it is definitely going to be an absolute trance banger when it drops. What’s the deal with this trance uprising by the way? As long as the vocals are decent I can’t complain, not too different from sounding like House if think about it.

Techno Tuesday (Dec 13th) by Fresh On Campus

Here is a snippet of WZRD’s debut single, “Teleport 2 Me” and I am definitely fuxin’ wit it. To me it essentially sounds like Kid Cudi’s interpretation of an R&B track which I am vibing with and it’s got a nice sample of Desire’s “Under Your Spell” from the movie Drive which was my jam…definitely gets this track nice. Love to see that goodness from my old friend Scott Mescudi and I now have hope for this project due out in January.
