So school's started and I been sick and whatnot. Today I even went to the doctor where they drugged me up for my Paritonsillar Abcess and fixed me up. But it's cool now, I just take my anti-biotic horsepill and my dose of vikodin and keep going.

So meanwhile, my birthday's in about two weeks, aren't you all excited? I will be 21, able to legally purchase booze and stuff (don't worry, I'm not going to fail out of school a week later).

So for those of you saying to yourselves, "Gee, I wish I knew what to send Ryan for his birthday," dont' worry, I got you covered ;)

-Food money (you get cards from places like Sonic and stuff, college boys love food)
-If you happen to find magically light, yet strong-heeled shoes in my size

So I wrote this app that records reminders for yourself via your iSight or whatever and slaps them onto events so that these reminders get played back at given times to remind you about them.

Version 1.0 is out and if you have OSX 10.5, you're welcome to give it a try!

Don't forget to send feedback to the address in the README file in your dmg :)

Tonight I met the mind behind Coversutra at the Delicious Generation party here in San Francisco. Sophia has done a wonderful job with this app making it pretty nice to look at and use. I'm not a journalist or anything, so my review here is not nearly as amazing as her program, but if you are reading this, you should check it out and tell everyone you know.

Facebook meets Mines Students

So my friend and I made this nifty app for facebook. Basically, you put the little marker on the map to indicate where you are (google maps supports like 12 significant figures worth of latitude/longitude data) and then you can look around to see where your friends are who did the same thing.

So I decided to work on Pong again, re-worked it and whatnot. Now it's new and improved and you can all get it here! Give it a try, pretty sure you'll find 100% less "ball moves through paddle" syndrome.

DCGN 381- Intruduction to Circuits, Electronics, and Power

Today we finished talking about basic circuits with just resistors and sources in them and went on to intruduce the topic of capacitors. Instead of physics200 style where we spent all that time learning and caring about how a capacitor is created and what causes capacitance, we just went straight into "this is what happens when I ram one in a circuit." Not with direct current, mind you, she also intruduced alternating current (AC)! There's lots of derivatives and integrals involved and she mentioned things from differential equations (like the Laplace domain) which makes me pumped because all the seemingly arbitrary crap we learned in diff-eq will actually prove applicable to anything I'll ever do! Even better: my ti-89 (my calculus-doing calculator) gets to take the course with me :)

Bluetooth Headset (for cell phone) (This is just an example, pretty sure about any one of these with bluetooth should work.)

Apple Developer Connection: Select Membership Cheaper than developing for Microsoft, hehe

Objecti ve-c Programming Books Any objective-c programming book that was released in the last year or so should be good.

Apple Airport Express Sweet wireless router you can plug speakers in to beam your music to them without having to plug in your computer all the time :)

this is an awesome site on of the guys I know from #macosx created. it's his first sql-based site and it's nifty. you can login and submit writing (any type) and then it generates an rss feed for all the work you've created to share with people. I don't write but maybe you do!
