Thank God I'm Fresh. TGIF creators Al Maddin and Jahi shared with us the inspiration behind their budding clothing line, letting their clientele have a voice in the designs, and making sure their line remains relevant.

When TGIF pops in my head the first thought is of Kid Cudi and the some of the illest lines said over the Thank God I'm Fresh beat. How did the concept of TGIF for you come about?

The concept came to us one day on the phone. Unaware of Kid Cudi's song we were just joking around and said "Thank God Im Fresh". From that day on we kept saying it then it eventually turned into the name of our clothing line that we started about a month later.

Does music influence the different feelings and emotions you have when designing or coming up with a new scheme for your clothing?

I think music plays a big role, we're both invested in music and that's where we draw some, but not all of our inspiration, sometimes when we hear a song, it brings up concepts that we want to see on our pieces that we feel other people will appreciate; respect and most important feel fresh wearing

When did you launch TGIF? Did you know that clothing, in terms of fashion and keeping your customers looking fresh, was something that you wanted to do?

T.G.I.F Clothing lunched in the summer of 2011. Coming up we both went down alot of different path's in our life such as sport's and music. We've always been into fashion but we definitely didn't know that we'll one day own a clothing line of our own. With the name of our line being Thank GOD Im Fresh, we knew we had to keep our customers FRESH and we're definitely doing so.

As designer(s), where are you from? What differences do TGIF have compared to other brands -- what makes your line stand out from the others?

We both are from completely opposite sides of the country, Al Maddin from Detroit, MI and Jahi Roosevelt from Oakland, California.

What makes our line different from other lines has to be the way we market our company. We can't really tell you our secret but it's not really to hard to miss us on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram etc.

We're different from other lines because we let our following have a voice in the line. We take our time to see what the people want since they'll be the one's WEARING the clothing and we feel that's what other clothing line's are lacking.

Where do you see your line going? Do you have any other projects that you are working on for TGIF -- sneakers, sunglasses, etc?

A Cliché answer would be something like to the top, or be the best brand out-there. Yeah those are on our Long List of goals. However, I want our line to stay relevant for years to come, a lot of people reach the top but they all realize that you can't stay on the top forever, then they fight to stay relevant. So the end outcome is not being on top that counts but to stay relevant, once your off the top that's I want my company to achieve.

For Christmas 2011 I decided to share with you guys my holiday gift list. I'm not going to post everything my little heart desires because I don't want to depict myself as a greedy spoiled grinch but I will share the most important in case someone close and dear to me needed a clear hint of what to shop for (-;
With all materalistic things aside, remember this holiday is to be celebrated in love among family and friends and (for some) the celebration of a spirtual meaning.

1. Supreme Pom Pom Beanie: $45 - $55

This beanie is super fly and the pom pom (that's what I call it) on top adds a feminine playful touch to it which is also be unisex which is cool since I'm into manly stuff lately. Preferably, I would like the beef and broccoli colored one. Even though the navy and white caught my eye first.

2. Canon T3i Rebel: $639 - $1,064 or Canon 7D: $1259 - $1,802

I had the opportunity to shoot a video and take some photos with the 7D last weekend. It was my first time holding such an awesome camera and it was super easy to figure out; great for beginners. Maybe it was my previous knowledge of knowing about cameras *shrugs* I don't know but I was able to take some cool shots and an even cooler video (I hope to get that posted soon for you guys).

I don't know much about the Rebel t3i, but I know someone who purchased it and uses it on the regular and from my understanding LOVES it. This camera is kind of similar to the 7D as far as appearance but functionality wise... I wouldn't know. I wouldn't mind either camera to own, but if I had to choose I would choose the 7D only because of my mini-fling I had with it a couple days ago.

3. Giuseppe Zanotti Navy Suede Ankle Strap Wedges: $695

I fell in love with these navy wedges when I saw them in a Marie Claire issue (uh, forgot which issue, I think it's the one with Katie Holmes on it...I think). Anyways, I love the fact that it's a platform type shoe, to give me height, AND it has an ankle strap. The most simple yet the most essential feature to this wedge. Love, love, love 'em. I want 'em.

4. Lauren by Ralph Lauren "Venetian Court" Leopard Queen Size: $120 retail

If you hurry you can get these sheets for $99 right now. Otherwise the retail price is $120 depending on where you go. I've been wanting some wildlife inspired print for my sheets for a long time. Leopard, please. These leopard, which I want to call cheetah but for RL's sake I'll say leopard, sheets are ________. I don't even have words to describe how I feel about these sheets. Just know that it's a feel good tingly feeling. And the pillow cases to match too, please and thanks.

5. Macadamian Natural Oil Basic Essential Set: $79.95

I've heard good things about this hair care line. Leaves hair feeling clean, healthy and just lush. Who wouldn't want clean, healthy, lush feeling hair? Only a psycho. The essential set comes with the Healing Oil Treatment, Oil Deep Repair Masque, Nourishing Leave-In Cream, and Rejuvenating Shampoo. The price is exceptionally good considering that one item is like 25 bucks.

6. Macbook Core 2 Duo Laptop: $489 - $699

The newer models are bomb, no doubt. I like the core 2 because it looks so polished and classic, not to mention affordable and it also comes in black. I am not too sure if this laptop is sold in stores. Maybe it's only available to purchase online? Who knows but I do know I like this laptop and think I will look really cool typing my papers on it.

7. Jack Wills Littlehay All In One: $89

Ok so while I write papers on my Mac I can be comfy in my striped onesie. Onesies are not only for babies.... *sideeye* No seriously, I like this striped all in one. It's so cute and looks so soft and comfy. Jack Wills onesie, wrapped in a snuggie, and accompanied by a pillow pet. *Angel Ahh* Perfection.

8. Chanel Classic Flap Beige Purse: $2600 - $4000

This classic Chanel is so bad ass. The beige is beautiful. The onyx black color is nice also, but the beige is different. It can go with most colors too. I like.

I told you guys I will keep you posted on the new affordable line Versace is designing for H&M. Well recently the lovely people at Barracuda Film & TV sent us photos and footage of Versace x H&M Launch Party in NYC.

Last night, the Versace for H&M collection was launched at a celebrity packed event in New York!
Over 500 specially invited guests entered the world of Versace at the [specifically] designed building on the Hudson River. Donatella Versace was joined by Jessica Alba, Blake Lively, Alexander Wang, Linda Evangelista, Emma Roberts, Uma Thurman, Chace Crawford and many many others. The Versace for H&M collection was shown on the catwalk alongside with some iconic pieces created just for this exclusive show. A second scene in this fabulous venue was entered by Prince and Nicki Minaj who gave an exclusive concert. A glamorous after-party followed in true Versace style for hours!

Amber Rose made a guest appearance on the Wendy Williams’ show last night. Before starting the interview Wendy revealed to Amber that she was a little surprised she decided to come on the show. Amber gushed and told Wendy how much she loves her and her show and couldn’t decline the invitation even though she do not entertain making TV appearances.

briefly dating Reggie Bush to pursuing a path in writing books.

[At the Watch The Throne concert in Philadelphia] Kanye got on stage and thanked Philly for making Amber Rose and apologized for criticizing your hair and your look.. How did that make you feel?

He said that he was an A-hole and he was mean to me. He did not treat me the way he was suppose to and I accepted his apology because I feel like he’s remorseful for how he treated me. I’m just going to keep it moving. It was a nice gesture.

Do you think Kanye West wants you back?

I don’t care.

Where do we go from here with your relationship with Wiz Khalifa, because you can’t get back together with Kanye now because now you said it on the show, we all will be watching…

I will never get back with Kanye, there is no way. I want to be with Wiz for the rest of my life.

Are you and Wiz married?

No, we’re not married.

Do you believe in marriage?

I never did until I met Wiz. I really didn’t. Every relationship that I’ve had, especially being a stripper since I was 15 years old, I never thought it would happen for me.

What happened to Amber Rose the reality show?

When you do a pilot for a reality show you present it to the network then their like either ‘we love it or we don’t. They loved my pilot but they wanted me to be somebody that I’m not. In this business you could either sell your soul for money or you can do what they tell you to do. I just decided to take another route and just be myself. I have to do what makes me happy and I have to sleep at night, so I can’t sell out.

There were rumors that you were the cause of Kim [Kardashian] and Reggie’s [Bush] final break up?

One thing about me is that I’m not a home wrecker. I would never date a man that’s in a relationship or a married man. I broke up with Kanye and he broke up with Kim and we met right after. We were both going through a hard time so we were like each other’s rebounds basically. It was brief, it was nice and he’s a great guy.

On whether Kim K slept with Kanye West...

Come on. You know. We will keep it cute (Laughs).

Were you paid off not to speak when you and Kanye’s relationship dissolved?

No. No, I can say whatever I want about Kanye. I can say whatever I want about our relationship. I’m not into that. I always like to take the high road. I’m a very positive person, very spiritual… I believe in Karma. Whatever happened in our relationship, I don’t feel the need to write a book or dog him out or anything like that. I just want to keep it moving.

On writing books...

I’m writing books so it’s going to be on romance, a lot of different emotions and a lot of things I’ve been through in my life. Like I said I was a dancer at 15 years old, me and my mother were homeless and I did what I had to do to survive. Also, stories about my friends, my family and what everybody’s been through. I just have a lot to say so I just want to put it out in books. It’s great and interesting stories.

Is it difficult for you to have friends? Girls? Women?

Yeah, it’s very difficult. I had an assistant, which I thought was one of my best friends and she became obsessed with me. She became a stalker. She was listening to Wiz more than I listened to Wiz. She had Wiz stickers all over, she shaved her head and it was weird and it was crazy.

Where are you originally from?
I'm originally from Uptown born in Washington Heights (Manhattan) partially raised in the Bronx and Philadelphia (North), I also spent summers in Harlem. I feel all of those places have influenced my style in one form or another.

When did you start your musical career? When did you know rapping was your passion?
I get very particular when it comes to questions such as this because I've been writing rhymes since the age of 15, I am currently 24, back then I went through the stage I feel every artist should go through which is battling, doing freestyles, little showcases here and there, getting a feel for what was going on. All in all I still feel none of those things were the beginning to my career.

I feel my career began two years ago when I linked with my management and we set out to make a name for ourselves it was then where I found my voice and my artistic identity and accepted it instead of running from it as I did in the past. I knew I had passion for music when I skipped buying meals and sending my mother money in prison to save money for the studio. Another time had to be in May '09 when I was at a show and prior to me getting on stage a shoot out broke out by the entrance and everyone started running and I was so angry and disappointed I started crying because I know how hard I prepared for that show and it was my opportunity to let people see me perform and understand what was going on with my music.

Which artist(s) would you consider to be your musical influence?Fortunately or unfortunately this answer can go on forever just due to the fact that I've been inspired by so many people from all walks of life. Although they all didn't make music I took something from them all that helped me with my art but a few off top would have to be NERD just for their musical knowledge and overall quality throughout the years. Kanye West for his persistence, forward thinking, and all his passion for the music which has always kept him on another level. Ryan Leslie for his talent and work ethic. Hector Lavoe for baring his soul on every record.

How did the concept of the video "On My Way" and song come about? You talk about some deep and personal topics. Do you feel as an artist it is important to open up and be as transparent as you can towards your fans?
We wanted the video to be very simple but with the subliminal message that I'm on my way somewhere like where I currently am in my life. Antoine Rucker and R Dubb killed it with the shots they brung me and Maurice's vision to life and I will always be appreciative to them for that. It was my first video my baby. Haaa.

I feel its very, very, very important for me to be open and transparent with my fans because I'm a fan of music before an artist and the artist I connect with on the highest level are those who I feel I know and can relate to. I speak for those who don't have a voice, those who can't rap or never had the opportunity to chase their dream. I feel I was hand picked to make music so I have to make music that brings people into my life because they're going through it just like me. They're going through heart break, they're chasing dreams with $10 in their pocket and no food in their stomach coming from broken homes and it's important for them to grow with me for better or for worse.

There's a lot buzz about your mixtape. Why was the 90s your theme for your mixtape, "Higher Learning: The 90's Tape"?

The 90's is when I fell in Love with the culture that is my life Hip Hop and before I got into any original material I wanted to introduce myself on a platform that people were familiar with. The 90's overall changed the world from Sports to film to music and it was important for me to show how much the decade influenced me and my art.

You have so much going for you right now. How do you handle it all? Can it be overwhelming at times?

I try to keep a tunnel vision always tell myself I haven't done enough and keep my eyes on the next step, next level. I feel if I get caught up in any patting on the back I'll slip and fall off. My edge and determination is all I have and it's what got me here. I may not be as talented or connected as any of these other artists who are popping on a higher level but I come from nothing and in my mind I'm the same snotty nose 15 year old rapper who started yesterday who's just trying to get better. Never overwhelming, I feel like it's not enough. But I do appreciate progress and those who rock with my situation.

I know I have some style, I'm a personable guy and my numbers are increasing but my fans are my fans because they appreciate who I am as a 24 year old man. Mannnn!! My fans are the truth!! I always wanted people to understand me and now that it's happening it's unbelievable.

Are there any underground or mainstream artist(s) that you've work with that you feel have the same musical similarities as you? Where do you draw your inspiration from?

I gotta go with my homie X-clusive just in the fact that he's a student of the game just like me and his live show is real just like mine. My inspiration comes from life and my experiences. Women. Alcohol. Dreams. Nightmares.

What are your plans for the future career wise? What is one of your greatest dreams you wish to accomplish?

My future plans are to grow as a brand and eventually become a mogul, Become a better artist by getting deeper into my craft, a better performer, try spread my message across the world to as many people as possible and to be memorable in my culture and in art forever. As well as to get my company off the ground ABMG (Above and Beyond Management Group).

My biggest dreams are to sell out Madison Square Garden and to headline Hot 97's summer jam. Sometimes in my heart I'm just a New York kid. Another dream of mine is to just make it and for my parents to see me shine doing it my way.

Misty Copeland is such an inspiration to me. As a lover for dance, Misty's stature, experience, and overall passion for ballet is inspiring to me. I've been dancing since I was 4. As a child I was a part of a dance company and stopped at the age of 6 since it was merely an activity for me to partake in. My love for ballet grew as I got older and began to dance again in highschool. Now as a college student I am looking to get into ballet again. I love the discipline the body gains from it and the elegance you begin to embody as time progresses.

W Magazine is one of my favorite magazines. I was surprised to see it come in the mail with my name on it because I never recalled signing up for a subscription. Weird. Nonetheless, I am excited of the magazines to come. I can add W along with my other mags; Vogue, Marie Claire, Vibe and Essence. I have so many magazines in my opinion it's rediculous. I plan on doing something super cool with them though, so you guys look out for that (;

Jhene Aiko released a visual today of "Stranger" off of 'Sailing Soul(s)' . The video is very mysterious, eerie in an amazing way. It had beautiful visuals of her on a beach in an almost pocahontas-esque look. Another great visual was when it shows her with a man -- this seems like the peak of the visuals -- you can see the man disappearing as they share affectionate moments. He's one of the strangers who is all the same. Beautiful song that I can truely relate to. Go Jhene!

Sheba, Turtles, & Nature...oh my!!

The title is pretty corny but these amazing picture I took today aren't(;
I woke up at 6 o'clock sharp today for an important meeting to later
find out that is was cancelled when I arrived on time to my appt.
Yeah, I know...that freaking sucks!

My morning got a little better when I saved this turtle's life.
The very same turtle you see in the pictures.
The story is pretty long so here's the short version.
Coming home my mom almost slaughtered the poor turtle as it was slowly
crossing the street in our neighborhood, so we stopped...even though we didn't hit it
I still felt bad, so I picked it up, went home and put it in our garden.
The End.

All this nature in my front yard. Literally. I'm still pretty amazed at the bird's nest in our rose tree. Can't wait to see the little birdies when they hatch!

Review: B&BW Japanese Cherry Blossom Candle

By far this is my favorite scent of all the candles I've had.

I've had 'Fresh Linen', 'Island Colada', 'Cinnamon Apple', 'Sweet Pea'

and a pine scent for Christmas.

These candles do exactly what they were meant to do: Odorize a room.

I love them. The smells are rich in fragrance and lasts for a long time.

I do not burn my candle everyday, more like twice week.

And I purchased my candle in March!

I bought this scent and 'Cinnamon Apple' for 2 for $20; it was a sale and I could resist!

The only CON with this product is after you out the candle

the wicks leave a little burnt ball on the tips.

& when you re-light them it usually pops and sparks a little.

To prevent that from happening, use a paper towel

and remove the ball from the wicks by pinching them off.

These candles are bomb!

I used my heel cushions but with a TWIST!

These things are so cheap and convinent.

Instead of putting the heel cushion on the heel area of the heels,

I put it on the ball of the foot area of the heel.

That is the problem area on my foot when wearing heels: the ball of my foot.

I took one of my not-so-expensive heels
(in case this experiment didn't work out too good)

Luckily, it worked out GREAT!
It's not 100% pain-free but the pressure on the ball of my foot is

not so intense as before.

I'm going to do this trick to all the heels I buy, especially pumps <3

I can now enjoy my heels without the lingering pain;

pain is not beauty ... well at least in the aspect of my feet(;
