Within the last few weeks we have been bringing fans exclusive behind the scenes images of Friday The 13th Part 2, courtesy of William Klayer, who worked as an electrician on the film. William is a Cinematographer in New York City now with a long list of credits who coincidentally is looking to direct a Horror film in the near future!

Today's images are more rare looks at the production behind the scenes. In the photos pictured below, we get candid looks at Stu Charno and Lauren-Marie Taylor! Stu is flexing his muscles as the self appointed life guard of the Counselor Training Center and Lauren is soaking up some rays in the warm sun. These are great shots from production and images that have survived for over 30 years without anyone seeing until now. Friday The 13th: The Film Franchise Website Questions For The Fans

We are getting ready to hit the mid way point of 2013 and this year so far has been a lot of fun with more prominent Friday The 13th news hitting the web within the last week with our exclusive release announcement of the new documentary Crystal Lake Memories: The Complete History Of Friday The 13th and the fun news from NECA that they are releasing an SDDC exclusive Jason Voorhees figure depicted in the Nintendo game from 1989. Rest assured, there is more big news coming this Summer along with the anticipated release in September of David Grove's On Location In Blairstown book chronicling the production of Friday The 13th 1980! With all of this happening and more to be announced soon, we want to get ready for all of this Friday The 13th goodness and ask our loyal readers some questions.

So, here...we...go.

Do You Still Want A Podcast?
There are currently four Podcasts recorded that can be listened to via iTunes and all were recorded back in 2012, with our last show debuting on July 13, 2012. The show stopped there as, to be perfectly honest, the webmaster (that's me) has very little experience in running and producing these types of shows. Not for a lack of trying, but recording audio is not the normal operating procedure for this writer. The fans also expressed their interest in wanting more than just one person (me again) speaking on subjects, and thankfully, Producer Dan Farrands stopped by to chat on Episode 4 about the documentary.

It's a good guess that there are a lot of fans that would love to hear a monthly Podcast about the films and I would love to have a few people that read this website be apart of a great show! So, if you are interested in helping with a Friday The 13th themed Podcast and have experience in participating in radio shows for the web, please send an email to podcast@fridaythe13thfranchise.com. I would love to hear your ideas and how to create an awesome show for all of the fans!

Do You Want To Write A Friday The 13th Fan Review?
We have had people submit reviews of the Friday The 13th films in the past via our Discussion Forum and for a while it worked well. We haven't had any submissions in a while, and in fact, we still have no fan reviews for Friday The 13th Part 7 or Friday The 13th 2009? It has been brought to my attention that some people may not want to sign up for the Forum just to submit a Review. So I ask our readers, would you prefer emailing your reviews to the website rather than post them in our Forum for review? Posting the review in a Forum seemed to be an easier method, but perhaps that was a wrong thought on my part? Let us know in the comments below your thoughts if you care to tell us.

In the mean time, if you have a passionate take on either Part 7 or the 2009 films, please send in your write-up so the fans can hear your thoughts on these films via the Discussion Forum or via email at contact@Fridaythe13thfranchise.com. We would love to read your ideas and criticisms of these films!

Film Props: Friday The 13th Part 7 Brush Hook

Jason Voorhees uses many weapons to dispatch his victims in Friday the 13th Part 7: The New Blood. With a tool shed readily at his disposal, he is able to pick and choose whatever instrument he desired to exact bloody revenge. One such unique weapon is the brush hook used to kill Mrs. Shepard.

The brush hook is definitely menacing and is capable of inflicting a lot of damage on a person. According to the Mario Kirner of the Friday The 13th Props Museum, the prop (as of 2011) is owned by Mathew Perrone. One great feature of this prop is that The New Blood director John Carl Buechler signed the handle!

This is a proper tool with a real metal blade attached to the handle. The display case that the prop is stored in is equally impressive. Check out the images below and witness a true piece of Friday the 13th history!

Film Props: Chuck's Shirt From Friday The 13th Part 3

The shirt that actor David Katims wore for his character of "Chuck" in Friday The 13th Part 3 is not necessarily a prop in the sense that we are accustomed to seeing in these articles, however, anything screen used from the earlier Paramount films is worth mentioning. This particular item is really pretty rare for being over 30 years old.

This yellow screen worn shirt was kept for a better part of a quarter century by David Katims and then sold to a collector back in February 2009.

According to a letter of authenticity given to Mike Becker, the person who bought the shirt from David a few years back, there was also a purple and green shirt that David wore in a few scenes and that shirt was eventually kept by a wardrobe person from the film. Owning props like Jason's machete or his screen used hockey mask would be the pinnacle of a fan's collection, but owning a rare piece of clothing from such a beloved part of the film series would be equally as impressive!

It was first announced on April 27th, 2012 that production companies Panic Productions and Hutson Ranch Media were diving into creating the definitive look at the Friday The 13th film franchise. The companies have grown in their experience in documentary film making since the first Friday The 13th documentary, His Name Was Jason, was produced back in 2009 and hot off their critical success of the Nightmare On Elm Street doc, Never Sleep Again, they felt it was time to do Jason Voorhees and his fans proud by creating the definitive look at the Friday The 13th Film Franchise.

Fans have been extremely patient over the past year since the new documentary was announced, reading updates on the production and seeing some excellent images of cast and crew from the entire franchise. A few questions have gone unanswered, however, in that time such as when the documentary is going to be released for sale, how long is the run time going to be, and what home video formats will the show be released on? Well, all of those questions get answered right now!

The brand new website for Crystal Lake Memories: The Complete History Of Friday The 13th has been launched which shows the release date for the show as August 27, 2013 and it also states that the pre-sale for the documentary will begin on July 8, 2013! But that's not all, we have even more information for the fans as we can give you the exclusive expanded details about the documentary.

With a running time of approximately seven hours, Crystal Lake Memories: The Complete History of Friday the 13th explores each film -- from the seminal 1980 slasher hit to the 2009 reboot, including the hit syndicated television series -- in chronological order, and promises to be the definitive retrospective on one of the most enduring horror franchises in motion picture history.

Platinum Dunes Producer Discusses Horror Remakes And Friday The 13th 2

There was a long period of anticipation following the release of Friday The 13th 2009 as many fans were led to believe a sequel was to immediately follow the franchise reboot. Platinum Dunes even set a release date of August 13, 2010 for Friday The 13th 2 where all indications pointed towards Jason Voorhees stalking his victims in snow for the very first time in the franchise. For reasons that are still real unclear, Warner Bros. seemed to balk at the idea of creating a new set of Friday The 13th films kickstarted by Platinum Dunes. Here we are over four years later and there is no talk at all of a new film, which is pretty depressing for everyone who enjoys the series.

Recently, Producer Brad Fuller of Platinum Dunes was a guest on the Internet Horror radio show Necronomicast and talked about the companies past Horror remakes, future movies (which include Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) and which films he would want to make sequels to of their past Horror remakes. If only very briefly, Friday The 13th 2009 was brought up and the prospects of that ever elusive sequel. Brad mentioned that out of all of the films they have created thus far, Friday The 13th was the most enjoyable to work on and that if Warner Bros. came calling about a sequel, Platinum Dunes would jump at the opportunity to start production on a new Jason Voorhees story.

Interestingly enough, it has been mentioned from time to time that Platinum Dunes didn't want to make another Friday The 13th film, but it is more and more apparent that Warner Bros. is holding all of the cards and are for some reason waiting to release another Jason romp in the woods. More Prophet Of Doom Abel In Friday The 13th Part 3

For those fans and visitors to the website that have been following my writing for the past couple of years, you will know that Prophets of Doom were an essential part of Friday the 13th lore in the original Paramount films. Even Jason Takes Manhattan brought its own Prophet aboard the teen filled love boat bound for New York.

Bottom line is, fans want to see more of this type of character in the Friday the 13th films. That is why it is so interesting when you find there were more story lines for these particular characters, such as Abel from Friday The 13th Part 3. For those that are not aware, in Friday The 13th Part 3, The Prophet of Doom Abel was to appear in not one, but three scenes. According to Michael Avallone's book based on the original Part 3 script, and other sources, Abel confronts the group of teenagers in three separate instances.

The first encounter is in the theatrical release when the gang of hiherto teens almost run Abel over in the road. The second encounter was to take place when Shelly and Vera are driving back to Higgins Haven after their encounter with the biker gang in town. Abel is walking along the road, trying to hitch a ride, as the pair drive by him. The third and final encounter is depicted in the images below, where Abel confronts Rick and Chris on their walk back to the house after Rick's battery dies in his Volkswagen Beetle. Abel tries to warn the couple of their impending doom.

There are always reasons for excising moments in films to produce a final product, but these instances would have been interesting as the character himself was a mystery, much like Crazy Ralph.

Meet The Original Jason Voorhees At Twisted Fears

Original Jason Voorhees actor Ari Lehman has been with the franchise since the beginning, but little was known about him until the Friday The 13th saga became popular again in the late 1990's and into the 2000's. His band First Jason plays many shows around the world for fans of the band's rock inspired melodies with a twist of Jason! NECA Unveils Exclusive Nintendo Jason Figure

A few months ago, one of our website readers, Will Edwards, painted up a custom Jason Voorhees figure that mirrored the look of Jason from the 1989 Nintendo game for Friday The 13th. Sadly, we lost his images that he posted of the figure in our old Forum, but his images were actually tweeted to NECA at that time and they really liked the concept. So much so, that they have gone ahead and created an SDCC (San Diego Comic Con) Exclusive figure of Jason Voorhees from the Nintendo Video Game! Not only is the figure retro video game goodness, but the packaging will bring back memories of that long lost video game as well.

For those of you not familiar with Jason's look in the 1980's video game, it was far different than what we all know of Jason in the films. Jason's video game look is pictured below, and that is exactly what NECA has transformed their likeness of Jason into.

Rare Italian Friday The 13th: The Final Chapter Photobusta Poster/Lobby Card Set

At the beginning of this week, we added some great Friday The 13th Part 3 promotional Lobby Cards to the website and today we have a huge treat for fans of Friday The 13th: The Final Chapter. Now, we are certain that there is a group of fans that have seen the following promotional posters/lobby cards somewhere along the line in the past 30 plus years, but a majority of people may have never seen these before!

Listed below are rare Italian Photobusta posters (also known as enlarged lobby cards) for The Final Chapter that were used in theater lobbies to promote the film. These posters are larger than the traditional lobby cards that graced theater entrances in the United States up until the 1980's as they are 13 inches by 18 inches in size. The set includes eight posters. As for the photos on the posters themselves, most have been witnessed before on other promotional material, but if there was one particular image to take notice of, it is that of Rob Dier crouched in front of his tent. This scene was right after Jason destroyed his rifle. This angle is rarely scene of Rob and shows his fear quite well.

Oil Canvas Work Depicts Famous Friday The 13th Scenes

Outside of reporting news for the franchise as well as bringing the fans website specials like the Friday The 13th Props Museum, we also like to showcase artwork created by talented people who happen to be huge Horror fans! Today we found some truly awesome art created by Jennifer Mills and Severed Parts Inc. The label looks to be fairly new, but the first few pieces of Friday The 13th art is brilliant.

Severed Parts has created two Friday The 13th pieces thus far, one of Jason Voorhees standing on top of the RV in Jason Lives: Friday The 13th Part 6, and the other of Crazy Ralph meeting his demise at the hands of Jason Voorhees in Friday The 13th Part 2. The art is oil-on-canvas and would look great hanging on a Friday The 13th fan's wall! Friday The 13th Sequel Caution For Fans

Our website receives a lot of inquiries via email and our social networking pages about when a new Friday The 13th sequel will be filmed. There are instances where certain websites and Forums will post information that hints at a new sequel going into development for which we can say with certainty is not true. Warner Bros. still HAS NOT greenlit the proposed sequel to Platinum Dunes Friday The 13th film from 2009. Here are some examples of websites listing a sequel prematurely.

Boxofficemojo.com still has Friday the 13th Part 2 in 3D as a listing on their website. That listing has in fact been on that page since Platinum Dunes Producer Brad Fuller announced on his Twitter account back in 2009 that a sequel was on the move. Of course, Warner Bros. was not let in on that secret. Other websites had similar listings of Friday the 13th Part 2, such as Imdb.com, which have since removed the movie listing from their website.

Another interesting find back in November 2009 was that the major Theater chain Regal Entertainment had already listed the sequel for release on August 13th, 2010. Of course that never happened and the listing was removed from that company's website a month or so later.

Everyone should exercise caution when hitting websites, as some may not be current in information or simply may have forgotten to take things down. Coming soon pages for films that aren't even greenlit should most definitely be removed, until there is official word that the movie is moving forward into production.

At any rate, we just wanted to let everyone know that nothing new has changed with the proposed sequel by Platinum Dunes and Warner Bros. and that we will most certainly let everyone know when the word comes down that we can gear up for Mr. Voorhees once again. We all want Friday the 13th back on the big screen!

Adam Green And Joe Lynch Offer Up Friday The 13th Part 2 Commentary

Way back in 2009, Adam Green (Director, Hatchet 1 and 2) and Joe Lynch (Director, Wrong Turn 2 and Knights of Badassdom) recorded a commentary for the Deluxe Edition release of Friday The 13th: The Final Chapter. It was a fun listen and a different perspective on the film rather than hearing what cast and crew had to say about the film. Fans loved it, and wanted more, and apparently Adam and Joe listened and now they will present their commentary on Friday The 13th Part 2!

Last night, the duo posted up their first episode of The Movie Crypt, which is best left to the explanation posted on their GeekNation page.

Hosts Adam Green and Joe Lynch welcome listeners to the Movie Crypt in this inaugural episode. Topics to be covered include a discussion of their decision to do a podcast, what the podcast will be, a look at their upcoming 2nd Season of Holliston (June 4th), a look at the upcoming release of Hatchet III (June 14th), and the trials and tribulations that go into making and promoting both a sitcom and the third entry of a slasher franchise simultaneously. For something truly special to kick off the first episode, Adam and Joe will also perform a full-length commentary track for Friday the 13th Part 2 (1981). Ever since the release of their commentary track to Friday the 13th Part 4 on Paramount’s re-release of the film in 2009, fans have been asking them to do another. Periodically on The Movie Crypt they will perform fan-commentary tracks to movies based on fan requests. Friday 2 is only the first of many to come.

Now, we are certain that there is a group of fans that have seen the following promotional posters/lobby cards somewhere along the line in the past 30 plus years, but a majority of people may have never seen these before!

These posters are larger than the traditional lobby cards that graced theater entrances in the United States up until the 1980's as they are 13 inches by 18 inches in size. The set includes eight posters. As for the photos on the posters themselves, most have been witnessed before on other promotional material, but if there was one particular image to take notice of, it is that of Jason Voorhees holding Rick and covering his mouth. In other promotional photos and in the film itself, you never clearly see Jason and his hockey mask, like the picture depicted below in the posters showcase. Indeed a rare and exciting shot.

The Props Museum: Chewie's Hockey Stick From 2009 Film

Our next new addition to the Friday The 13th Props Museum is the hockey stick from Friday The 13th 2009 that the character Chewie picks up and plays with in Trent's boathouse while searching for tools to fix furniture he broke earlier in the main house. The hockey stick is part of the in-joke, obviously, with Jason Voorhees and his hockey mask. There is also a tiny bit of trivia that goes along with that hockey stick as well.

Jason was originally going to use the hockey stick to kill Chewie, before Producers decided to change the kill and use a screw driver instead. There is more on that story found at our Friday The 13th Prop article about the Screwdriver. As for the screen-used hockey stick, pictured below, it is the first time this item has been featured in a Friday The 13th film.

Friday The 13th Featured In 1988 Sequels Special For Horrorhound Magazine

Friday The 13th Part 7 Anniversary Screening

To celebrate the upcoming 25th Anniversary of Friday The 13th Part 7: The New Blood, we will be hosting a community screening of The New Blood in our CHAT ROOM on UPDATED DATE Friday May 10th, 2013 at 9PM Central (Visit Our Community Screening FAQ for more details). The film was released on Friday May 13th 1988 and went on to become one of the most beloved films of the franchise featuring one of the most iconic turns of Jason Voorhees ever portrayed on screen.

Freddy vs Jason Star Experiences 'Torment' in Home Invasion

Home invasion films are not going anywhere soon, and after a small lull in the sub-genre, it seems as though audiences are in for a full on onslaught of home intruders in cinemas within the next year and beyond. As such, Variety has just reported that Freddy vs Jason star Katherine Isabelle (Gib) will star in the latest home invasion thriller titled Torment. Written by Michael Foster, the film concerns Cory Morgan, his wife and their 3 year old daughter Emily who decide to spend a quiet family holiday alone. When Sarah starts seeing strange things around the house, it soon becomes clear that they have some unwanted guests.

Close-up Look Of Mrs. Voorhees' Shrine In Part 2 Behind The Scenes Pic

Within the last week we have been bringing fans exclusive behind the scenes images of Friday The 13th Part 2, courtesy of William Klayer, who worked as an electrician on the film. William is a Cinematographer in New York City now with a long list of credits who coincidentally is looking to direct a Horror film in the near future!

Today's image is another rare look at the production and one of the props that interest fans the most. In the photo pictured below, we get the first public look at the back side of Mrs. Voorhees' shrine in Part 2! In the photo, fans can see Pamela's rotted head and sweater from a different perspective along with those candles that mysteriously stay lit 24 hours a day. This is a great shot from production and one that survived for over 30 years without anyone seeing until now. Jason Voorhees Actor Kane Hodder Added To Fright Night

Kane Hodder is always a fan favorite when it comes to not only his portrayal of Jason Voorhees in the Friday The 13th films, but also when he attends Horror conventions. Convention goers will have another great opportunity to meat Kane as he was just announced to be added to the his newest convention.

Fright Night Horror weekend has added Kane to it's large list of stars for genre fans to meet and get pictures with. Fright Night takes place in Louisville, Kentucky the weekend of July 26-28, 2013. Rare Italian Friday The 13th Part 2 Photobusta Poster/Lobby Card Set

It's been a while since we added any new promotional materials from the films, so today we have a huge treat for fans of Friday The 13th Part 2. Now, we are certain that there is a group of fans that have seen the following promotional posters/lobby cards somewhere along the line in the past 30 plus years, but a majority of people may have never seen these before!

Listed below are rare Italian Photobusta posters (also known as enlarged lobby cards) for Part 2 that were used in theater lobbies to promote the film. These posters are larger than the traditional lobby cards that graced theater entrances in the United States up until the 1980's as they are 13 inches by 18 inches in size. The set includes eight posters. As for the photos on the posters themselves, most have been witnessed before on other promotional material, but if there was one particular image to take notice, it is that of Deputy Winslow in Jason's shack. In the photo, you can see Jason's arm with the hammer getting ready to deal a deadly blow to the policeman.

The Props Museum: Barn Ending Chain Used To Hang Jason Voorhees

Another new addition to the Friday The 13th Props Museum, owned by Mario Kirner, is from Friday The 13th 2009 and is the chain that is wrapped around Jason's neck in the exciting conclusion of the film. The chain first hung Jason from the rafters of the barn and then later pulled the psychotic killer's head into the wood chipper.

The chain entered into the museum is one of three versions used to "hang" Jason at the climax in the barn. There were metal, plastic and rubber versions used. The prop chain pictured below is the rubber chain used for safety reasons. Derek Mears was rigged with a harness that would carry him when he hung down from the beam in the barn and the rubber chain was hung around his neck without any real practical function outside of appearance for the film.

New Line Cinema Interviews Freddy vs Jason Propmaster

When Freddy vs Jason was preparing to be released in theater in August 2003, New Line Cinema interviewed the Prop Master for the film, Graham Coutts, for the official website of the film, www.freddyvsjason.com. That website doesn't exist anymore, except to redirect people to the WBshop.com store for the film, but the interview posted their at that time was pretty interesting. The interview was held to help promote Freddy vs Jason and lend some behind the scenes insight into the making of the film. One of the more interesting things found out during the interview about Graham is that he also worked on Friday The 13th Part 8: Jason Takes Manhattan!

New Line Cinema Interview With Graham Coutts
NewLine: How did you get involved with Freddy Vs Jason?
Graham Coutts: I’ve worked on many films over the past 20 years with the Designer John Willett.

NL: Did you have free reign or did you work closely with the cast and the production designer/wardrobe designer?
GC: You never have free rein, everything involves collaboration and approval, however, I think the Designer has a high degree of confidence in my ability.

NL: Did you use the same molds and designs from earlier Nightmare and Jason films, or did you start the mask/machete/Freddy Glove from scratch?
GC: The effects make-up department designed and built the Jason mask. The machete was designed by John Willett and the many versions were constructed to my specifications by our special effects department and my props builder, Charlie Grant. Freddy’s glove was designed and built from scratch with reference to previous gloves by my armourer Lem le Mercier. In total there were approximately 8-10 metal and 20 rubber machetes for various “gags” and 6 copper/steel and 6 plastic gloves as well as special replaceable blades for a variety of uses.

NL: Did you have a prop from the film that was your favorite?
GC: The comatose patient room was probably the most fun to work with.
The machete is just a machete except it’s big. Originally a scabbard was designed for Jason too, but that disappeared in the first camera tests because it interrupted the silhouette of Jason. With the glove we unfortunately had to reinvent the wheel since we were unable to obtain an actual sample of an early glove. By “Mark IV” we achieved a near perfect fit, with the little finger, being the biggest problem to overcome. Robert Englund is quite particular of the fit and mechanics of the operation and I think we were able to satisfy him.

NL: What other films have you worked on, and is there anyone you would love to work with in the future?
GC: I’ve done one other Friday 13th, “Jason Takes Manhattan”. Other than that, lots of features. I just finished “Scary Movie 3″ with David Zucker directing and that was a good experience.

NL: Have you always been a prop master and how did you get into the business? Can you share a little bit of your professional history with us?
GC: I started as a Set Dresser in network television here in Canada in 1979 and from there went to my first position as Props Master in 1986 on a feature called “Housekeeping” directed by Bill Forsyth and starring Christine Lahti.

NL: What kind of design research is involved in preparing for a film like Freddy Vs Jason?
GC: I suppose watching 1 to 10 and 1 to 7. Seriously, I do try to be realistic with every project, so in this case we researched everything from 1950’s summer camps to sleep therapy clinics.

NL: What influences your work the most?
GC: The script, the director, the budget.

NL: Freddy Vs Jason is a dark thrasher film, is there anything humorous that happened while working on Freddy Vs Jason that you can tell us about?
GC: Our 1st AD, Robert Wong, liked to run through a preliminary blocking of the scene we were about to shoot based on his discussion with the director and primarily for the benefit of the stand-ins and Director of Photography. The further into production we got, the more elaborate these blockings became with Robert giving us a detailed interpretation of how the action would play out by assuming all of the various roles with dialogue and action. During the blocking of the scene where Freddy brands another actor with “Freddy’s Back”, Robert is throwing himself around the room as if it were Freddy and the kid. He threw himself against the window and onto the floor and at the peak of the action he throws himself against a wall. Suddenly with a horrible look of pain on his face he runs from the set and reaches down to lift the camera dolly. Well it turns out he has a bad shoulder and in his energetic action had dislocated it. Ouch!

Today's image is indeed rare and one of the most fun and awkward looks at Jason Voorhees from the film. In the photo pictured below, Jason is sticking his entire body through the door that he just obliterated with a pitchfork while chasing Ginny in the climax of Part 2.
