All New Details Emerge For Jason's Appearance In Dead By Daylight

More information was released today for the upcoming Dead by Daylight debut of Jason Voorhees. There will be different versions of Jason to play as, but a little different that some were hoping for.

Per Behavior Interactive, Jason’s gameplay delivers a bone-chilling blend of stealth, scares and brutality for players looking to embody the same relentless presence and power that have defined the character’s 45-year legacy. Jason’s Power is split into two distinct components, the first being Omnipresent Evil—a stealth-based ability that encapsulates the Killer’s knack for popping up in unexpected places to catch his victims off guard – and the second being Improvised Carnage, which taps into his signature creativity when it comes to kills utilizing the items available in his environment. Scattered throughout the Map are containers filled with makeshift projectiles—fragments of Lockers, broken Generator parts, shattered Pallets, even Hooks.

Jason comes complete with a range of outfits, with his default being the redesigned Jason Universe look created by legendary FX artist Greg Nicotero. There's also the Backwoods Terror outfit which trades Jason’s jacket for flannel and suspenders, and his machete for a heavy axe, the Death Forsaken look which offers a grotesque incarnation with decayed features, exposed bone, and a shovel in hand, and the Depths of Despair Outfit, which sees him emerging from the depths; a vision of terror covered head-to-toe in barnacles, coral, and seaweed. Dead by Daylight: Jason is available May 26 as part of the Steam public test build. It releases officially on June 16th.

Dead by Daylight: Jason will be available on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series and Nintendo Switch.

Dead by Daylight is an asymmetrical multiplayer survival horror game where one player acts as a ruthless Killer hunting four Survivors. Survivors must repair five generators scattered across a map to power the exit gates and escape, while the Killer must capture and sacrifice them to a malevolent force known as the Entity. The Status Of The New In-Development Friday The 13th Video Game

There has been a new official Friday the 13th video game in early development for a few years now. This was first confirmed in 2023 by franchise composer Harry Manfredini and then confirmed later thereafter again in July 2025 at San Diego Comic-Con by Horror Inc. Their Vice President Robbie Barsamian described the new Friday The 13th game as a "new sequel game" and said it's a top priority alongside a new movie.

No developer, title, gameplay style, or release window has been officially revealed yet. It's still very early so expect more details this summer, perhaps, or sometime into 2027.

Fans of the Gun Media Friday The 13th game are hoping to keep the Asymmetrical gameplay where Jason is versus counselors for the new game but also hope that there is a new single player story mode incorporated into the new Horror Inc. game.

We talked to Horror Inc. last August during the Sweet Revenge premier and were assured that they are aware of the fan's concerns about keeping the asymmetrical gameplay but are definitely exploring single player mode as well. We shall see what can be created and what makes sense for the new developers and producers chosen for the new video game.

About the old Friday The 13th: The Game

Friday the 13th: The Game was a third-person, asymmetrical multiplayer title where one player controls Jason Voorhees while the remaining seven control camp counselors trying to survive the night. It's a classic horror fan's dream, no shaky cam, no found footage.

The game (by Gun Media) is now effectively dead with official servers shut down December 31, 2024 due to licensing issues from the franchise rights battle that lingered on for years.

The Jason Universe Enters Dead By Daylight!

After a very long wait, it was announced on May 23, 2026, during Dead by Daylight's 10-year anniversary stream, at the 13th hour, that the game's Chapter 40 will include Jason Voorhees! The new chapter will release on June 16, 2026.

Jason has been one of the most requested killers for a decade, since Dead By Daylight's inception. Licensing issues with the Friday the 13th franchise previously blocked the Jason character from joining the game, but after the franchise rights issues were mostly resolved, Jason Universe was formed by rights holders Horror Inc. This new venture cleared the way for Jason's appearance in Dead By Daylight. Behaviour Interactive (The developer of the game) has now added nearly every major slasher icon to Dead By Daylight.

It was also announced that a Public Test Build (PTB) is expected to start around May 26, 2026, so details on his power, perks, Mori, and map (likely Camp Crystal Lake-inspired) should drop soon.

Crystal Lake Premier Date Is Set For This Fall On Peacock!

After a long time in development, Peacock has finally announced a release date for Crystal Lake, the highly-anticipated Friday the 13th series.

Crystal Lake will premiere on Thursday, October 15. While releasing on an actual Friday the 13th would've been a great marketing stunt, we've already had two out of the three allotted in 2026, and the next one isn't until November, and we can't imagine Peacock wanting to pass up the chance to get an iconic slasher back on screens in time for Halloween.

International streaming dates will be announced soon.

Crystal Lake is an upcoming American horror television series developed as a prequel to the iconic Friday the 13th film franchise. Produced by A24 and set to stream exclusively on Peacock in the U.S and Sky in the U.K and Ireland, it explores the origins of Jason Voorhees and his mother, Pamela Voorhees, in a doomed small town where camp counselors meet grisly fates. The series blends slasher elements with deeper character backstories, including various iterations of Jason familiar to franchise fans, and is described as an "expanded prequel" set primarily in 1970-1971 at Camp Crystal Lake.

We are at the dawn of the marketing blitz for Crystal Lake and last night showrunner Brad Caleb Kane debuted our first look at young Jason Voorhees in the show. Reactions so far from fans have been supportive as everyone is happy to see that it appears the mongoloid look has been retained.

Showrunner Brad Caleb Kane gave an update on the Crystal Lake production on Instagram recently:

"All 8 episode final mixes are done and dusted."

Expect a full blitz of marketing heading into July and San Diego Comic Con en route to the series release this Fall.

First Official Images Revealed For Crystal Lake!

Crystal Lake is the highly anticipated upcoming TV series serving as a prequel to the Friday the 13th franchise. Produced by A24 and streaming exclusively on Peacock, it dives into the origins of the infamous Camp Crystal Lake, focusing on Pamela Voorhees (played by Linda Cardellini) and the early years surrounding her son Jason Voorhees (with Callum Vinson as a young Jason).

The show explores the events and tragedy that shaped the Voorhees family and the cursed town's dark history, described by showrunner Brad Caleb Kane as more of a psychological thriller/paranoid '70s-style story with slasher DNA—though not a full traditional slasher. Expect "rivers of blood" and a grounded, darker reimagining of the lore.

Filming wrapped in late 2025 (after locations in New Jersey like Blairstown and West Milford), and it's currently in post-production. The series is set to premiere sometime in 2026 on Peacock (with international deals like Sky in the UK).

NECA has announced the release of a Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan Jason Voorhees action figure, licensed through Friday the 13th: The Game (due to licensing arrangements with Jason Universe). This is part of their Ultimate line of 7-inch scale figures, highly detailed and articulated, capturing Jason's look from the 1989 film Jason Takes Manhattan (including rips/tears in his outfit and other movie-accurate details).

Revealed in mid-February 2026 ahead of Toy Fair, with prototypes shown.

Pre-orders are open now at Neca's website.

Details: 7-inch Ultimate scale, with fireman's axe, interchangeable hands and head sculpt, and collector-friendly packaging.

Friday The 13th Film Character Enos Returns In A24 And Peacock Series Crystal Lake

Some quick news today to celebrate Friday The 13th. It was confirmed recently that the character Enos will return in the A24 and Peacock series, Crystal Lake!

Enos first appeared in Friday The 13th 1980 as the friendly truck driver (employed by Elston Oil Supply) who gives hitchhiking camp counselor Annie Phillips (played by Robbi Morgan) a ride partway to the newly reopened Camp Crystal Lake. Enos is one of the first to deliver exposition (a must in early slasher films) about the camp's dark history. He warns Annie about its troubled past, including the 1957 drowning of a boy named Jason, previous failed attempts to reopen the camp due to fires and "bad water," and the locals' superstition that the place is cursed (affectionately call "Camp Blood").

Veteran actor Rex Everhart portrayed the cult favorite character in the original film of the Friday The 13th franchise and now the next actor will hopefully carry on that legacy. Speaking of the next actor, we have learned that Daniel Stewart Sherman may very well have taken on the persona of the Elston Oil Supply truck driver!

Daniel is a veteran stage and screen actor with over 25 years in the industry.

Broadway credits include originating the role of Don in Kinky Boots (for which he received an Outer Critics Circle nomination for Outstanding Featured Actor in a Musical), as well as appearances in Cyrano de Bergerac, A Touch of the Poet, Henry IV, and The Full Monty.

Off-Broadway and regional theater work includes Guys and Dolls, The Mineola Twins, and productions at Goodman Theatre (e.g., Desire Under the Elms).

TV/film roles: Recurring or guest spots in shows like Lodge 49 (as Jeremy), Chicago Fire (as Scott Boylan), multiple characters across the Law & Order franchise, Run All Night (2015), Marshall (2017), and others.

We have not received official confirmation on Daniel's casting from A24, but it looks very likely he is the man for the job.

Corey Parker, Pete In Friday The 13th A New Beginning, Has Died At 60

Sad news as another alumni has passed away. Actor Corey Parker, known as Pete, from the greaser duo in Friday The 13th: A New Beginning, died this past Thursday in Memphis, Tennessee, following a cancer diagnosis. It’s unclear what type of cancer he had.

Born July 8, 1965 in New York City, son of actress Rochelle ‘Rocky’ Parker and husband John David Haas, Corey Parker began acting in TV commercials at age 4 before attending New York’s High School of Performing Arts.

Making his onscreen debut in a 1983 episode of As the World Turn, Parker became a familiar face on TV, appearing in The New Leave It to Beaver, Thirtysomething, Flying Blind, Touched by an Angel, Love Boat: The Next Wave, Nashville and Will & Grace, in which he had a recurring role as Grace’s boyfriend Josh.

Besides appearing in Friday The 13th: A New Beginning in film, he also appeared in 9 1/2 Weeks (1986), Biloxi Blues (1988), Big Man on Campus (1989), Encino Woman (1996) and The Rainmaker (1997).

Also an acting instructor, Parker worked on CMT’s Sun Records (2017) and the Disney+ MCU series Ms. Marvel (2022). His actor studio posted the Instagram message below.

Screen Used Jason Voorhees Cowl From Sweet Revenge Film

The short film (vignette) Sweet Revenge was the highly anticipated official return of Jason Voorhees on-screen and last August fans were truly excited to stream the film on YouTube. Months later, we found a great bit of memorabilia from the film.

Dirk Muller is an avid collector and hardcore fan of the Friday The 13th franchise and last September he was able to acquire part of the Jason costume from Sweet Revenge. Pictured below is the screen used Jason Voorhees silicone head cowl and production mold hockey mask and full bust display as seen in the 2025 short film Sweet Revenge.

The cowl was sculpted on a generic head/shoulder form, and subsequently molded and reproduced in silicone, and finished with paint and hair, by Artist and SFX Makeup Department Lead Ryan Schaddelee from Outpost31. The hockey mask was also sculpted, molded and finished by him.

This particular cowl was used for the moment in which Jason bursts out of the water to grab Eve off her canoe into the lake. This is one of only two cowls constructed and used in the final film, worn by actor/stuntman Schyuler White.

This is another great screen used piece of franchise history!

Jason Takes Manhattan and Jason Goes To Hell Figures Finally Arriving To NECA Ultimate Line!

Huge news for collectors of Jason figures as the long wait for the missing NECA figures from the Ultimate line is about to end and are about to be yours! Dread Central has revealed that the very first officially licensed figure from Friday The 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan is about to go into production! That's not all, as an all-new Jason Goes To Hell figure is also being released.

The figures will be sold as being part of Friday The 13th: The Game, but that is because of legal and licensing issues, but it is great that we will all finally get Jason from Manhattan. Prototypes of the figures (image renderings pictured below) will be on display this weekend at the New York Toy Fair with an assortment of weapons, so expect to see some live images of these great figures very soon!

The New Book 'The Music Of Friday The 13th Volume 1' To Release This Year!

The Music of Friday the 13th Volume 1 is an upcoming book written by Brian Satterwhite focused on the franchise's music, scores, and history. Brian has extensive experience with the scores of the Friday The 13th films as he has worked on all of the Ultimate Cut soundtracks released by La La Land Records the past several years and brings a heavy passion for the franchise to this new book.

More specific details on the new book will be released soon but expect a very in-depth look at how the music was conceived, designed, and added to the films of the franchise and how the scores impacted the overall feel of the films. More importantly, the music of Friday The 13th will be explored to show how the music is as much a character of the films as the people seen on-screen.

Watch The Original Friday The 13th In The Town It Was Filmed!

Roy's Hall is a historic theater in Blairstown, New Jersey and has its own assortment of rich history being very popular up until the 1930's with silent films and had a strong run for many years until it was shut down for a time in the 1960's. Outside of the theatrical history of the building itself, the Roy's Hall (formerly Historic Blairstown Theater) also has the unique distinction of being seen in the original Friday The 13th film that was released in 1980. As such, it has become a popular building to take photos of by touring fans looking for the filming locations for the original Voorhees slasher whodunit.

Every so often the theater owners decide to have an actual screening of Friday The 13th 1980 (usually on a Friday The 13th) to commemorate the theater and the town of Blairstown's place in the Friday The 13th film franchise. The theater will be showing the classic film on Friday February 13th and Friday March 13th at 7:30 PM. Please visit their website, royshall.org, for more information about ticket prices.

FilmRunner To Release Three Variants Of Steelbook Friday The 13th Box Sets

We are pleased to announce that German company FilmRunner is releasing three variant steel book box sets of Friday The 13th films! Each variant contains different artwork for the steel book covers of the films as well as the wooden box that houses the films. That's correct, these box sets come in specially designed wooden boxes!

- Three Variant Box Sets (Box A, Box B, Box C).
- Each box set contains steel book Blu-rays for nine films with alternate cover art.
- Each box set contains the films Friday The 13th 1980 through to Friday The 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan as well as Friday The 13th 2009.
- Specially designed and limited wooden boxes house the steel book Blu-ray films.
- English and German Subtitles

Popcorn Frights Presents 40th Anniversary Screening Of Jason Lives This Friday The 13th!

This February there is a great opportunity to watch one of the most critically received films in the franchise at a theater screening and what better way to celebrate Friday The 13th this month than to see Jason Lives: Friday The 13th Part VI! The film is being shown at Gateway Theater in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Jason Lives turns 40 years old this year so not only will this screening celebrate Friday The 13th, but a huge milestone for the film itself. This new showing is presented by Popcorn Frights and will screen on Friday February 13th at 10pm EST.

If you live in the Fort Lauderdale area, check out this screening of a slasher classic as Jason returns to the area that is most familiar, Camp Crys.., er, Forest Green.

As a child, Tommy Jarvis did what many others died trying to do. He killed Jason Voorhees, the mass murderer who terrorized the residents of Crystal Lake. But now, years later, Tommy is tormented by the fear that maybe Jason isn't really dead.

So Tommy and a friend go to the cemetery to dig up Jason's grave. Unfortunately for Tommy, (and very unfortunately for his friend), instead of finding a rotting corpse, they discover a well rested Jason who comes back from the dead for another bloody rampage in Friday The 13th, Part VI: Jason Lives.

Crystal Lake Show Premier Speculation

The new Friday The 13th prequel show is set to debut in 2026, but the exact date has not yet been revealed by A24 and Peacock. With several Friday The 13th dates appearing on the calendar this year, many fans are speculating (and hoping) that Crystal Lake will debut the first episode on either February 13, March 13th, or November 13th.

The show will more than likely debut during the Fall season, following suit with last year's horror prequel series IT: Welcome To Derry. This will allow for sufficient marketing, including an appearance at the San Diego Comic Con in July and a number of series trailers leading up to its debut in the Fall. The only real question then is will Peacock debut the series on Friday November 13th?

The series has gained a lot of positive feedback following this past Summer's on-location production photos and video hitting social media from fans attending the filming in New Jersey. Anticipation is high for this show and there will be official announcements coming very soon!

Teenage Jason Making Appearance In Friday The 13th Prequel Series Crystal Lake

We are all patiently awaiting the first marketing blitz for the new Crystal Lake show from A24 and Peacock, but while we wait, there is a bit of news that we missed during the hoopla of the holidays. Dread Central reported the exclusive that fans will indeed see a teenage version of Jason Voorhees in the show. What does this mean? Perhaps a death or two at the hands of Jason besides Pamela?

This news does track if you look at the casting of the show so far. It's also been mentioned that teenage Jason Voorhees will appear in the final episode of Season 1! This has not been officially confirmed.

Jason Voorhees Returns In NECA Ben Cooper Costume This February

Ben Cooper Costumes were iconic vintage Halloween costumes produced by Ben Cooper, Inc., a Brooklyn-based company that dominated the U.S. market from the 1940s to the 1980s.

These affordable outfits typically featured a thin vinyl smock or jumpsuit with a printed character design on the front, paired with a rigid plastic mask held by an elastic string. They licensed popular characters from Disney, superheroes (like Superman and Batman), TV shows, movies, and monsters, making Halloween more pop-culture-focused for kids.

Crystal Lake Showrunner Discusses Tone And Kill Sequences For Upcoming Series

Entertainment Weekly recently caught up with Crystal Lake showrunner Brad Caleb Kane to talk about his other show It: Welcome To Derry, and during that conversation Brad discussed Crystal Lake, teasing the series' tone and style. Kane describes Crystal Lake as less of a straight slasher and more of a "psychological thriller" rooted in the "paranoid '70s thriller" era that inspired the original 1980 film. He emphasizes themes like mistrust of institutions, women's liberation, and societal awakening, while promising plenty of gore: "There are rivers of blood in the show. There are very... ingenious kill sequences and deaths and murders, but it’s all done in service of character and theme and place and time."

Sweet Revenge Director Discusses Upcoming Friday The 13th Feature Length Film

After over 16 years since the last theatrical entry, a new installment in the iconic slasher franchise is officially in development. The project marks the first cinematic return of Jason Voorhees under the newly launched Jason Universe banner, managed by Horror, Inc. Not only is a feature length film in development, but a new video game is also in discussion, so fans have a lot to be excited about for future endeavors of the Friday The 13th property.

Director Mike P. Nelson helmed the short film Sweet Revenge that debuted online this past August, which was a tie-in promotion between Angry Orchard Hard Cider and Jason Universe and produced the first official return of Jason Voorhees in many years. Mike recently talked to Slashfilm about his new film Silent Night, Deadly Night and offered up his thoughts on the upcoming feature length film for Jason Voorhees.

They are working on it, that I can promise you, because I've heard of it and because I have that direct communication with them [Jason Universe], it's there. So that's really happening. And yes, they have reached out [to me about it]. As have other people. I can't say too much, but I will say that I have given my two cents, I have given them my take, and right now it's in their court and we'll go from there.

Mike brought a unique twist to the normal Jason Voorhees stalk and slash formula in his short film Sweet Revenge, introducing a new character that also drown in Crystal Lake and was resurrected just like Jason to also take her revenge.

I think a lot of IP loses its luster because it's way too 'holier than thou' and 'we need to be careful.' Dude, get over it, man. Get out there and try something. That's the reason why the original content worked so well is because somebody went out and did something, you know what I mean? And they did something that was different. So why not do something different?

Perhaps we will get some official news on the development of the new film in 2026, but for now we will continue to monitor the progress of the new projects on the horizon for the franchise.
