My reaction to sensitivity

is to try and reflect upon moments,

a true picture of all things uplift the spirit

how little or insignificant it may be.

Going down the stairs ,

neighbors observe like eagles,

comments like its something or nothing but silly.

Silly or serious , sensible or non-sensible

always at my reaction against something

Satanic they stands in attitude.

Everything reflects clear on their faces.

factual or fanciful, whatever the picture may be

its an eyesore for them,

they ignores light and vision ,

of a creative talent.

which they calls something silly.

and there comes a comment,

Silly something simply nothing,

repeats endlessly.

P.S : It has been a long long time over the blogosphere really , its hard to make a comeback ..its kind of post-ponds a lot .

Something of me
went away with you,
the softness of silk,
beauty of your eyes,
the evergreen smile ,
and those romantic songs
in your husky voice.

In between hope and desire,
desire tends to reach
for joy and complete glory.

Though different seasons
do shows signs of differences,
shining and making everyone
to dance on its magic,
and also gives variable taste
with time.

The liking for a perfect home
from the childhood comes naturally
but the beauty of the things has
frozen my vision,
as someone close, left forever
just remembering the memories.

Life went through

twist and turn

with delays and desires

Portable PC apps

It has been a long time since I posted something on the technical front.In this post I will some showcase some of the application which can be of great help to you. since these are portable i.e you don't need to install them , as they are executable files and are easy to use all are windows based apps.The four application I will show you are Double-driver , Everything , Express-burn & FastStone Capture.

DoubleDriver :
Sometime we formats the machines and due to some reasons we don't get the drivers especially in WindowsXP in some cases Windows7 too.So when we have all the drivers installed over the machine we can take their onetime backup and can restore them later this application is very handy at that time, have look on the screenshot.

Everything :

This application is my favorite one , over my PC , I have lots of, videos ,tools as well documents. So to search a specific file I need to search via the old windows search which consumes lots of time , but this application is more fast and you can say PC offline google search as you type it searches the files matching its name and extensions of files (*.xls ,*.doc,*.avi,*.divx etc), have a look at the screenshots.you can choose it to run on system startup by going into option ( Tools -->option -->Start Everything at startup).

ExpressBurn:
This one is a lightweight utility to burn CD (CD writing app) from NCH software. Unlike many like Nero and all which need to be installed and their setup is large i.e 100+MBs while this one is mere in few Kbs. And perform all important task a cd writing need to do have a look over the screenshot.

FastStone Capture:
This app is my favorite one all the screenshot you have seen are taken by this app , its all in one app take screenshot on the scroll , full-screen or the selection and can also record the voice and screen as video , have a look at the apps snaps.

Trying hard to connect

First blogger interview

Hi Friends , hope you are having a great weekend. Today I was looking over my blog to read some of my own writing in between them I found I missed something , yes this interview which I forgot to post over here.

One of my fellow blogger Mehreen took my below interview for (Friends Meetup Party) where she selected my post Thank you ! as "Super Blogger of the Week".

1) Hi Vivek! I'm intrigued by your blog title, "Friend's Kitchen". What does it mean to you?

Well blogging and this very title happened to me by chance, its my friend who helped me choosing this title and introduced me to blogging world.

Friends Kitchen means a lot to me , a space for friends to share and express and ask if they have any queries( from Information Technology perspective or other area) ,its always been a pleasant experience so far in resolving some of the friends queries , its simply like a kitchen where we put our thoughts to make brilliant dishes and acquire different perspective and practice to make ourself better in life's progression. After all life itself is a practice to enhance our inner- self for the better future.

2) What makes your blog different from the rest and what do you enjoy most about blogging?

Frankly speaking, I never write with a thought to make my blog look different, I think what one write 1st should sound good with self then others will also like it, so I just try to write whatever thoughts keep coming to my mind and whenever alone or sad I look back to them to relive those moments again.
On the reactions I get from friends, 1st the title itself people often ask me about , why such name Friends Kitchen? Secondly I think my experimentation with blog design quite often.
The most important thing I love about blogging is the freedom of expression, and this make me came across some of the wonderful blogger and the inspiration they give me is amazing.

3) That sure is amazing! Where do you find inspiration for your posts?
Well inspiration of my post comes from my life experience, nature, friends, people around, family, you fellow bloggers and your lovely comments which inspires me, otherwise I won’t be here in 1st place, if my friend wouldn’t have introduced me here.
Initially it was tough to write as I was more comfortable to write over diary then over open space , blogging changed the way I think to be open-up enough to share what inside that’s outside, thereafter it was a smooth sailing till now.

4) We'd love to read some of your stuff Vivek. Please share your three favorite posts with us.
It’s a very tough call to choose three post as every post is special to me. Following three are my favorite post which has essence of my blog in totality (eeh sorry, rest of the posts).

Lessons Learnt

Learning is a endless process which always keeps us ticking and in the process we do makes lots of mistakes and learn from them thereafter. Do you think we need to do something special to gaze them no we don't we all learn from ppl and other living creatures around us the only thing required is the undying hunger to learn. I'm sharing some of the lessons I learned from my pet.

1. Play the hand: Some of us are born into the lap of luxury; others are not. Some of us come Auto-programmed for joy, and some are less inclined toward it. Some of us are nurtured magnificently, and some are nearly ignored. Lucky was adopted when she was two. You might think she'd be sullen, unable to trust, or stuck with a bit of a chip on her canine shoulder. Not so. she was a happy little girl who seems to demonstrate that it's not what you've been given that counts-it's who you become and what you do with what you've got!

2. Be Your Self: When we adopted Lucky, we almost forgot to ask her name. The clerk rolled his eyes and said, "It's Softy, but we'd change it to Lucky, if I were you." We soon learned that this miniature white poodle was anything but Lucky. She's athletic, funny, social, and uninhibited. Possibly, she's not even a purebred poodle. The name Lucky suits her well and she sports a pony tail. No matter what others think you should be like, it's always best, to be your true self.

3. Master the basics , Eat, sleep, exercise, and connect: Lucky was never too busy to eat, too distracted to sleep, or too tired for a walk. Nor does she ever turn down an opportunity to connect. Her wagging-tail greetings, sloppy kisses, and ability to land smack in the middle of the nearest lap , escorting to the bed and sometime sleeping inside the quilt in winter are all powerful statements of just how basic the need to connect really is. And yet, in today's 24/7 world, it is often easy to forget that family and friends are actually nourishment, and a major contributor to a sense of well-being.

4. Explore : Ever curious, and smart as whip, Lucky always seems ready to explore new territory. she'll happily learn new "tricks," check out new critters, climb hills, or give new poses to get the attention. In life, the choice is ours: play it safe and embrace the status, or face the unknown and continue to grow. lucky would give thumps up to "Stretch."

5. Make each day great: Spontaneously, Lucky will tear through the house, barreling at a breakneck speed. Or she might unexpectedly drop her rubber football at my feet, signaling it's time for a game of fetch. When she comes in from a walk, she sits patiently, "asking" for her treat.
Do what you love, ask for what you want, and seize opportunities as they appear. Don't wait for joy to come to you; instead, seek it out every day.

P.S : It has been a long gap since I posted something over this very space , I missed it due to my engagement over a project out of town, which took most of my time , coming to hotel in evening in exhausted state ..sleep and music were two best pals to give company. In life we come accross lots of troubles and most of them we handle quite well but getting over someone whom you know and devoted all your time for months or even years is not around you anymore , its not a walk in a park. Undergoing the process of denial after the break-up is one of the most critical phase ,the depression and anger is narural but sulking in yourself in a room or alone for a longer period then normal, while watching the world passing you by isn't healthy at all, wake up and tighten your screws to move on. We must try to follow some basic during this phase.

Cry: We must come in terms with reality and express it that you are sad and depressed , there is no point in hiding it from the world and most importantly from your own-self.lock yourself in room and cry out all the anger and hurt , by

venting out you will definitely feel a bit lighter.
Write: When feeling low , we must write our emotional front, either over a diary or blog,by doing so we give our self-esteem a boost, and pain within get relieved somewhat.
Talk to a friend : When in a confused state and pain , its always good to talk to your best friend , about your heartbreak over a drink or a cup of tea /coffee is a great catharsis , which soothe our soul.
Don't Listen to Love Songs: As we know love songs tends to stir our emotional side , so try not to listen.You will end up feeling like a complete loser and that's the last ting you won't like to happen.
Keep yourself busy: Try to do things that you neglected to do because you were busy with with someone else before. Try to finish the old pending project you have undertaken and on-going,read the novel. Do all the things you want to do before but were just pending because of time constraint. Organize a out of town trip with your friends or try hosting a friends get together, be with positive people and absorb positive vibes.
Reminisce: Head toward a Spa , gym or even to a parlour for a complete makeover , to a break-up sometime a perfect hair-cut can do wonders. Tell yourself , enough is enough no more you and sulking days. Its unfair for you to see him/her happy while you are still there in your room wallowing in despair.
Give yourself a treat and stop looking miserable.Try to be in present then the past , which is gone and dead now and new life is knocking your door to explored,experience different facets of life to meet with someone special again for a lifetime.
Hope cost nothing , yet at the same-time its precious , so be positive and hopeful, life do posses miraculous ability to turned the state upside down.
Don't be negative towards love , that once you get deceived its won't workout again no be positive always and be a firm believer love will find inroads in your life soon.

Blog disaster management some tips and tricks

Dear Friends,

Good News is that I had finally fixed the ongoing issue with my blog ,post were getting unusual link.
It just happened on weekend that I happened to experimented with my blog comment section , and end-up deleting the posts and comments after taking the backup and then the real issue arise of putting blogs as well comments section in place.
I asked many blog masters in this regard and also google about it , but all went in vein as all suggested to create a new blog and import the blogger XML , but what about the followers , yes followers can't be exported to another blog if you delete the existing one create new one with the same name.
So I didn't pick this option and again looked for the some breakthrough , lastly I got some smile as I got a reply from fellow blogger Peter and gave me the Link of one of his post on recovering the deleted post. So I keep touch with him to resolve it.

But this only resolved the Post and followers , now comments were the issue as after recovery there is zero comments.
After running the brain horses, I tested the third party comment widget feature DISQUS today over the test blog and it worked i.e I had the comment synchronised over DISQUS and it worked like wonders, though old post will show Zero comments but actually this Widget will show all previous comment if any visitor click to comment.
It was a great learning curve with this experimentation of me , I downloaded the XML editor and other log tools I normally uses which came handy.
So before everything goes over your head I will let you know , what to do when something went wrong or you deletes your blog accidentally ( not like mine doing intentionally ;) lol).
Few things always keep in mind

1) Always keep a backup of the posts as well template on a regular basis before making any changes to it.
2) Use third party comments integration tool like DISQUS and Intensedebate for better reply to individual comments in a threaded manner.
3)Never change the post title once published (1st decide then write), why ? because once you post over your blog a PostID is generated against it with the time-stamp over it so if we modify it we get another URL and PostID as well , which also makes it lagging behind in Google search or sometime will never come-up too.
4)Never give-up keep on trying , that's what I always do and most of the time its sweet.
5)use some search engine pinging service like PINGOMATIC to put our post in the search engines top searches to get our blog some visitors apart from sweet blog followers :).

So when we publishes a post over our blog with some keywords, 1st we get visitor secondly we also get in web cache of search engine and thereafter can browse the content even we don't have live link available how just, take any of the post URL paste it over Google and search it you will see something like below. click images to enlarge !.

if its deleted and inactive post , you can browse else you have it in cache after clicking it will show the date and time it was last updated.

Do following steps to recover the accidentally deleted blogs.

1) Get your blogID Number , to get it open any of your post in edit mode and look at its url ,you will find BlogID as well PostId of the post.

2) One new tab and open google to search for the post , you must know the Post keyword or title.

3) When you get post after Googling Click on cache

4) Press CTL+U to get source code

5) Search CTL + F for postID and copy it and replace the PostID value on the edit tab and press enter, you will find the post you were so eagerly searching for and also find that when it was created by expanding "post option" . simply press publish and its done , it will not even show over Friends feeds too as it will get posted on the same date and time as before.

You go also use the above mentioned third party comments tools if you want to have comments backup (DISQUS and Intensedebate) if you have accidentally deleted the comments too like me (mine was a deliberate attempt though)

Installing Windows XP and 7 via USB

When we thinks of formatting our machine and re-installing the OS , most of the time we don't have spare DVD/CD with us or software image file.
But if we have Usb stick we can install Operating system , by making USB bootable.

Follow the below procedure to Install windows XP/Vista/windows7.

Requirement :

1) USB Stick - 1 GB ( XP) , 4GB ( Windows7)

2) RMPrepUSB - Tool

3) OS ISO (Image).

4) Magic Disk

Download Magic disk :

For windows7

Download Bootable USB Tool

Step 1 : Install Magic disk

Step 2 : Mount the ISO image over virtual CD/ROM

Step 3 : Plugin the USB Stick and backup data in it before formatting.

Step 4 : Run the RMPrepUSB.bat file from RMPrepUSB folder.

Follow the step by step procedure in image below ( Click to enlarge)

OR -> XP

Step 5 : Now boot the machine and press F12 to choose the booting media and from navigation keys slect removal storage and system will boot from USB stick and OS installation will start.

P.S: Just experimented over my system last week and it worked :).

one sided affair

From last few weeks I had been into a different Zone, the pain zone. Yeah you heard it right. Pain which is killing me softly, this Wednesday I went to a dentist for checkup, as one of my Jaw teeth was paining.
I didn't have an appointment, as I decided all of a sudden in evening while coming from office.
My turn was last, it was kind of boring no time pass, what to do...hmm then opened by cell and started Facebook chat and asked some of my friend about it ,since it was my maiden visit to a dentist ; so it’s kind of unpredictable what gonna be the course of activity I will go through.
As some sounds of drilling machine were very much audible in the reception, I was scared...and wished I will not go through this process.
It was quite a wait of 40 Minutes approx and during this I spoke and get some insight of it from friends online.
When I entered into room, I saw dentist was a girl ...a bit relax thinking she will examine me calmly then their counterpart.
The torcher process started lights on, she asked to open the mouth, then with a magnifying lens she ticked over my teeth and it pained liked anything.
then other instruments, and after checking it I was told there is a cavity and infection, she told me it will cost you 2k and 2 more sittings after today, you teeth will be ok, I said just do it, It has been 3 weeks since I'm deprived of having ice-cream and juice and life has become a one-sided affair, so just do it.
The special drilling machine was out, a bit scary though.. (don’t know what they call it) and some sharp pins, slowly gradually the machine was inserted into mouth and then the actual pain begun, it was paining like anything. When it pains I close my mouth, she says don't close the mouth keep it open...I was in a state of slave..Who can just lay down with mouth remains intact in the state as it was asked to be.
I read lots of articles about dentist in the school days which looked quite same to same in the experience.

After that It was around 9:30 PM and I was also given a list of medicines including pain killers. My lips were swollen and dentist said 2 more sitting and you will be fine.My 2nd one is on this Saturday and next one next week.
Hope no more pain...only ice ice cream.. ;).

P.S : Today I regret the day when I was trying to crack the walnut with my teeth instead of walnut one part of teeth get out that time I didn't take it seriously but slowly gradually it has become a cavity :(.Today in the second half I have got 2nd sitting ..hope it don't pain much.

Turbulence

Year started with nice understanding

slowly things fall in place

a sudden turbulence resulted in distances

and known become unknown.

Tried to clear air,

but mirror once broken is hard to mend,

cracks of which still haunts.

A change in life progression,

make one think, there is lot to explore

we must keep walking

trough turbulence of life

depends totally on our approach.

To or away its a purely ones choice

a very independent life

takes a upside down turn

to staighten enough to look and live

at present moment and enjoy,

but not to forget after every brisk walk

there is a resting phase,

to explore untapped potential

and initialise ourselves for a greater cause,

then lost ourselves in web of thoughts.

After-all at year end some positives

will elude hardship of the past

COLORBOX : A perfect Lightbox for Sites

It has been a while since I posted something over Blogspot , actaully I was working over my blog template design and tweaking over its loading time as well as some other codes and widgets which were making it load slower.
I was looking for a tool which can give vistor a great browsing user experience over the site.

After searching over google I shortlisted three tools ,Colorbox
Lightview and Lightbox out of these 3 after working and testing it over my template I found success in 2 Jquery enabled Lightwight Lightboxes i.e lightbox2 and Colorbox. Out of both I like colorbox , as its easy and very much flexible.

Now if you are wondering what I'm talking about , then click over my profile picture or Header picture , you will get a image in a BOX not in the other page. So the main point is to do work on the same page.
The good thing is it doesn't reloads your page again , which is quite annoying at times when we have slow internet access.

More over it give you a better way to browse images and you can also do a slideshow with this Colorbox and even can add external blogger link or video embedding etc and its very easy nothing to much.
So the main advantage of this is on site loading which is faster, content access gets easier, bandwidth is consumed less.

I have hosted the scripts over my google site page so no issue of slow google performance.To do all the Above I will show you step by step implementation.

Step 1 : Goto Blogger Dashboard ---> click " Design".
Step 2 : Click over " Edit HTML".
Step 3 : Click on "Download Full template" To be on the safer side if any error comes,so it can reversed.
Step 4 : Check "Expand Widget Templates".
Step 5 : Search for </head> tag in your blog template
Step 6 : Copy the Below code above </head> tag.
