The practice of bashing another man’s head in with a metal folding chair is as much a time honored tradition in pro wrestling as the in-match run-in and the inevitable ruination of a promotion my Eric Bischoff and company.  Alas, the chairshot may have gone the way of the Gobbledy Gooker, as the WWE is apparently doing away with it through their new “Wellness Policy”:

*The WWE has eliminated using folding metal chairs to “strike” an opponent in the head.

*The WWE penalizes through fine and/or suspension the following:

-The intentional use of a folding metal chair to “strike” an opponent in the head.

-Any blow to the head that is deemed an INTENTIONAL act.

*The fine and/or suspension will be directed by the EVP of Talent Relations.

No word yet if the Stink Face will be affected by the new policy.

Per tradition, we acknowledge the oft passed along but nevertheless awesome example of how the South recognizes St. Paddy’s Day, not with some hack move like drinking green bear or dumping a bunch of food coloring into a river and having some parade with a bunch of drunken Irishmen walking in some semblance of a formation on the city streets…but by rousing an entire community toward a common goal of convincing the media that they believe a leprechaun lives in a neighborhood tree.   The outcome, as was demanded by the residents, was pure gold.

The opening round of the NIT got off to quite the cod-punching start as not one, but two incidents of fists to the manhood occurred during last night’s contests.  The first, a jab to the nards felt all the way to the Eastern Block as Seton Hall’s Herb Pope brought the pain to Serbian Texas Tech forward Darko Cohadarevic.  Free Darko, indeed.

And then the encore, seen above as Jackson State’s Phillip Williams gets a bit uppercuttish to Mississippi State’s Dee Bost’s nether regions.  The punchers in each incident were ejected.  Neither of the victims could be reached for high pitched comment.

Andy Kennedy…in hot pursuit and the goddamn Germans got nothing to do with it.

The disappointment of just missing the NCAA Tournament this year has got to be keeping Andy Kennedy up at night.  Thankfully, TruTV has some stellar programming options in the wee hours of the morning to keep his mind occupied…high speed chases, shocking accident videos, conspiracy lunatic Jesse Ventura, and, in Andy Kennedy’s case, your own arrest video on a show called ‘Hot Pursuit’. 

Kennedy was arrested for punching a cab driver in Cincinnati (man I love the Photoshop in that link) the night before his Rebels were to take on Louisville.  Kennedy plead to a lesser charge (and made a cameo in Gran Torino)…but luckily his international incident will live on in late night television infamy.
