HTML5/CSS3 Resume Demo

Recently I’ve been reading a lot about HTML5 and CSS3 and the amazing capabilities that these upcoming tools offer to us web developers. The border-radius and box-shadow properties themselves are huge steps forward. After looking at piles of HTML5 and CSS3 demos, I decided that it’s time to create one of my own.

For this project I decided to make a web-based resume. I actually began this project several months ago, but I was recently inspired to start over from scratch after viewing an HTML5/CSS3 layout by onextrapixel.com.

This demo works best in Google Chrome or Apple Safari. Firefox will work well enough if you don’t have either of those browsers available. I hope you enjoy it!

Moved To Lansing

I apologize for not having updated in some time. Things have been pretty hectic and I’d like to tell you why. Over the past couple of months I have accepted a new job offer and moved to a new apartment in Lansing. I was recently hired by INgage Networks to work full-time as a UI Engineer in Lansing, MI. I will be in Naples, FL until May 27th for training at the INgage Networks headquarters. Palm trees and sun!

Just as before, I will still be offering freelance website design and development services. Since my time is limited, I will only be focusing on one project at a time to ensure a quality website and a happy customer. I currently have one project on hold that I will begin upon my return to Michigan for a former co-worker at Landscape Forms.

Kalamazoo customers are still more than capable of receiving my services. Distance is not a problem in the age of technology that we live in. My services are available to anyone no matter where they may be located. Thank you for your time and patience!

eBid Auctions

eBid Auctions is an website that I made during my internship at Landscape Forms for internal company auctions. This website uses ASP.NET and SQL Server with the jQuery User Interface to create an easy-to-use rich web application for employees to bid on auction items. Fancy Box was also employed for image pop-ups and item descriptions.

Unfortunately I cannot link you to the website since it is internal, however I have uploaded some screen shots for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy!

Social Networking Icons

Recently, I was looking for some ideas to change the Connect section at the bottom of my site. In my search, I came across a set of free social networking icons created by Komodo Media. This package includes icons for over 40 social networking sites and more in both 16×16 and 32×32 pixel sizes. It’s A New Year

Hello Everyone,

I would first like to apologize for not updating my site in a while. I’ve been extremely busy with the holidays and work and I just haven’t had the time! I finally finished my undergraduate program at Western Michigan University and I am now the proud owner of a BBA in Electronic Business Design! It feels incredible to be graduated from college and to be a part of the professional work force.

Speaking of which, I have been busy developing a website for the company where I am interning, Landscape Forms. This website is going to be the home for our new electronic auction system. Currently these auctions are all done via paper and pencil, and my job is to give them a more eBay like feel. I have been developing this website using ASP.NET and SQL Server, and it has been exciting learning new interactions between things such as ASP.NET and jQuery along the way. I would love to show you this website, but it is internal only. Sorry!

Abstract Vector Art

This is a tutorial that I found while browsing the popular web design blog called Web Designer Wall. It teaches you how to use Adobe Illustrator to make some very neat abstract art by simply drawing some shapes and using the Twirl and Warp tools to distort them.

October Activity

I haven’t had time to write a nice article in a while, so I wanted to throw something out here to let everyone know how business is doing. First of all, I finished up a large e-commerce project at the beginning of the month for The String Collector. I enjoy rock and roll music and have a bass guitar, so this was a fun project for me to work on. The website can be seen in my portfolio, and you can read about it here: The String Collector

I am currently working on a web store for a band called The Vala. One of the members is a personal friend of mine, and he came to me for help with this project. The design was largely done by him, with input from myself along the way. The test website is still in its initial stages of setup, so you’ll have to wait a bit to see more from this one. This website will be using WordPress and WP e-Commerce just like the store that I put together for The String Collector.

On a different note, I’m about halfway into the school semester, my last semester at WMU, and I can’t wait to be done! It’s exciting to finally be graduating and truly moving into the work force. I know my web design and development skills will continue to expand, and I will use everything I have to help my customers create successful websites.

The String Collector is an online store that sells new, used, and vintage instruments. They specialize in everything from guitars to tuners and accessories. I created this website using WordPress and the free WP e-Commerce plug-in with the $40 gold module upgrade.
