Wow, where did the time fly by?? Oh wait, I know.  For 2.5 weeks, awhile back (as posted, earlier) Husband and I were treating the kids for lice, meaning daily combing for nits, and once a week treatments for two weeks with chemicals.  Then immediately following those 2.5 weeks, both kids came down with a virus, and then Husband and I caught the virus too, resulting in me (mostly)

Break in the Clouds? We are now lice-free for 1.5 weeks!  Yay! Also, the Little Guy's digestive system has improved (although still needs more improvement).  We've cut out all soy from the kiddo's diet, which is actually more difficult than originally thought, because apparently a lot of baked goods, snacks, and processed foods have added soy in them, like soy protein, soybean oil, etc

LICE!!! OMG, the kids have LICE!!!! How?  What?  Where??  WHAAAAA??  Crisis mode and panic ensues! I literally screamed when I saw the first louse in my oldest child's hair.  I screamed and took a jump back, because honestly, I was in denial that my child had any lice. That happened one week ago.  And that is when we began the hair treatments.  Since then,

For the past few months little N's digestive system hasn't been up to par, so for several weeks we've started an elimination diet.  Firstly we've eliminated all dairy and egg sources, therefore no muffins, cookies, or other baked goods that contain egg or dairy.  There's been no improvement.   We are now cutting out soy products.  No soy-anything, which I am finding sad and

This weekend we purchased a new Dyson vacuum!  We took the plunge and bought a brand-name, high-end vacuum cleaner, and it felt kind of like Christmas at our house (for the adults).  Yesterday, we unboxed our lovely vacuum and proceeded to test it out in our basement.  It was a family event, with Kid N looking on, and Hubby and I taking turns. It was quite exciting.  And to my

This morning was Husband's yard-cleaning day... meaning, it was weed-mowing day!  Remember how I said we have more dandelions, than grass?  Well, Husband decided to just mow it all over.  Someday, eventually, years down the line, we will re-seed the entire lawn, or lay down new grass...  But until then, the plan is to just mow them down, and/or pluck them out if we felt like

Wow, it's been a year since I've blogged about anything, and let me vague-post about why!!  Life is pretty much as fun or as dull as you make it out to be.  For the past year I've been floundering a bit in my own personal reflection.  I've come out of that funk, all shiny and happy again.  So voila, I'm back! Yesterday: I've been staring at my garden and lawn for the past

While Kid B was pre-occupied with her afternoon videos, and while Kid N napped, I raided a box of old Kid clothes, and began an easy-peasy project. I found a nice quilted rarely-worn jumper, and turned it into a pillow-case, for a cheapie pillow-form that I purchased from Ikea, a long while ago. Here is the transformation: This.... To this... This pillow will be for

I've been in a blogging Rut for the longest time, with either not feeling like blogging, or having nothing to say!  So I am slowly, trying to get back into the blogosphere.  I also need a bit more inspiration, considering different formats, or different platforms, etc..  But I'll just stick with this for the moment. Anyway, on the home-front: My dear kid N is, as I've mentioned

It's garage sale season again.  Every year, the city holds a Garage Sale Day, in which all households in the city are encouraged to hold a sale, or go shopping at the many houses in the various neighbourhoods.  Since moving to this city, we've gone shopping on Garage Sale Day every year.  We choose our neighbourhoods, make a list of the houses we will be visiting, pack the car with

I'm the Queen of Procrastination, as my husband will tell you.  If something needs to be done by the end of the month, I will wait until it is the end of the month, and do it the day before.  This includes buying and wrapping presents, washing dishes and general cleaning of the house... and taxes.  Oh taxes, how you are my frenemy!  I enjoy doing taxes... it's quite easy to do

It's been months since my last post.  Since then, my oldest Sis has returned from New Zealand with tales, and souvenirs from Middle Earth.  Sis #2 has also returned for a 1 week visit, sporting a fashionable belly bump!  And Twin Sis's family and my family are suffering and/or recovering from a miserable virus that is mostly affecting the kiddos.  Oh Joy!!  Oh, and last

As a follow-up to my sister L's experience in New Zealand, here is a link to her blog, of which she is currently updating every few days. There are some seriously awesome pics, from her tour.  And I am officially full of envy, and trying to figure out how I might get to New Zealand in the next 5  to 10 years (the earlier the better), to see exactly what she is seeing! Oh, what I

I sit in my room, with the Lord of the Rings soundtrack playing through my ear-buds, and feeling very complacent with life.  The Husband is downstairs watching a video, and my 2 kiddos are sleeping soundly.  Far away, on the opposite side of the continent, my oldest sister L, is probably winding down her first evening in Auckland, New Zealand in her hotel room.  This is most likely

I was debating about whether I would shop the Canadian Black Friday deals today.  I started "shopping" last night for the best deals, by sleuthing online and comparison shopping. This morning, I began with some online shopping, and realized that I was "late" to the game, and that the sizes and selection online was limited, due to all those bargain hunters whom started shopping at 12:01 am,

The saga of food intolerances and allergies continues in Baby N. A few weeks ago we tried giving Baby N some cow's milk-based formula.  He developed hives all over his face, his eyes puffed up.  It was bad, like we-probably-should-have-taken-him-to-the-hospital-bad (but we didn't because he was acting okay, and his breathing was okay)   We gave him infant/children's Benadryl

It's been a month since I posted anything, and in that time, one of my sisters got married, Thanksgiving passed, and Halloween is just a few days away. In personal news, Little N has one more tooth with another emerging (we think), and Husband has another (more desired) job which enables him to work from home.  As a result, we are in the process of setting up a proper work-at-home office,

Friday Night. Both, Twin and I came up empty-handed during our sister-shopping trip.  But we had fun, and we both had a night out away from the kiddos. Saturday. I took Little B with me to the mall, to run some errands, and to shop again, with the hopes of finding a dress for a daytime wedding, and purchasing a few t-shirts for Little B.  Errands were completed, and shopping trip was a

If I didn't have any solo time, I'd go nuts - some time to mentally (or physically) to unwind.  However, the time I have to physically have alone time is very limited.  Leaving the house to the kids and husband, is, at most times, not an option.  Therefore, my alone times involve catching a few moments behind a locked door, hiding in a closet (and yes I've done this a few times),

I'm currently reading a book titled:  The Sh!t No One Tells You, A Guide to Surviving Your Baby's First Year, by Dawn Dais. I don't need to know about baby's first year.  I've lived it, and survived it with Little B, with all the tears and laughs that came with it (at first, mostly tears, eventually followed by laughs).  I'm reading this book because it seems amusing, and I feel

Day One: As expected, Little B's first music class resulted in tears when the parents left the room.  The quivering lip and whine turned full-force into a wail as I left the room and waved goodbye, with a happy smile on my face.  Teacher Sherry picked up Little B and comforted her.  The door shut, as she was still wailing, and I gave out a laugh and sigh. "Oh she'll get over it"
