great example of bad photoshop :(. She is so pretty, why do they have to try to make her look chiseled ? She is young and pretty, why cant she just be that ??

Unfortunately, this case study is pretty representative of thousands more that appear in magazines, on billboards, in advertisements, in stores and everywhere else you can think of every single day.

Back in 2010, citing security concerns and not religious ones, the Shiv Sena had called for a ban on the burqa in Maharashtra after a two-month-old baby was stolen from a hospital in Santa Cruz and through CCTV footage and statements from the baby’s family the police have zeroed in on a burqa-clad woman as the possible perpetrator. An editorial in the Sena’s mouthpiece, Saamna, said the theft shows that the burqa is being grossly misused and the government should put a statutory ban on it. The editorial urged home minister R R Patil to formulate a law banning the burqa.

Representatives of the Muslim community slammed the Sena’s demand, with both clerics and moderate secularists saying it only betrayed the party’s deep-rooted bias against Islam and Muslims. They added that any anti-burqa campaign by parties like the Sena would only hamper real reforms in the community.

However, reformist Islamic scholar Asghar Ali Engineer said that crimes cannot be stopped by banning burqas. “Deal with the theft. Don’t demand something that is not practical and can only communalize the atmosphere. If reforms need to be brought into a community, they should come from within,” said Engineer.

Sania Mirza is professional Indian tennis player. She holds the record for being the highest ranked Indian player for over a decade. She has now reached her highest world ranking in women’s doubles (rank 6).

She is married to Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik, who captained Pakistan’s cricket team between 2007 and 2009. Inspite of this she is clear in her mind that she will remain an Indian. Yet, Sania Mirza has made it to an elite list of Pakistani women, thanks to an overzealous magazine.

But Sania Mirza said she did not welcome comparisons between politics and her marriage.

“My marriage has nothing to do with Indo-Pak politics,” Indian newspapers quoted the her saying. “This is a happy moment … Be happy we are getting married. We both are happy. Our families are happy. I don’t think we can ask for more.”

When asked which side she would support if India played Pakistan in a cricket match, Mirza said she would support both India and her husband.

Mohammad Irfan, a Muslim driver who works in Delhi, was also puzzled by the match, though for different reasons.

“Shoaib is an eligible bachelor and from her own religion, so it’s fine,” he says. “But I would be happier if she married an Indian cricket star. There are lots of eligible Muslims in our country too.”

Inspite of people opposing her marriage in India she continues to represent the country.

She started “Sania Mirza Tennis Academy”, which was launched in March 2013 with the aim of providing world class tennis training to Indian tennis players. The academy also recognizes rural talents and a few selected are trained at no expenses to brighten India’s future.

The controversy involving the possibility of ‘King Khan,’ i.e. Khan, leaving India after Modi’s election win has spread like wildfire across the social media landscape. Many users have claimed that Khan made an earlier promise that he will stop living in India should Modi head the government of this country.

Several supporters of Modi have demanded that Khan issue a formal statement. They insist that the 48-year-old actor should speak out on whether he is going to stick to his promise now that Modi has won the election.

The Reality: Mr Kamaal Khan is known for his controversial statements. Some days ago, he tweeted: ‘It’s my challenge to entire world that if Modi ji will become next PM, then I will leave not only Twitter but India also forever.’ The pathetic part is, some illiterates (or literate hatemongers) could not differentiate the ‘S’ from the ‘K’ and thus began a series of unethical, untrue and immoral personal attacks on Mr Shah Rukh Khan.

Shahrukh Khan: “I sometimes become the inadvertent object of political leaders who choose to make me a symbol of all that they think is wrong and unpatriotic about Muslims in India,” the actor wrote in Outlook Turning Points, published by India’s Outlook magazine in association with the New York Times.

“There have been occasions when I have been accused of bearing allegiance to our neighbouring nation than my own country – this even though I am an Indian whose father fought for the freedom of India.

Rallies have been held where leaders have exhorted me to leave my home and return to what they refer to as my original homeland,” he wrote.

But the film has got into troubles as Bhushan Kumar wants to cast Shraddha Kapoor in Pooja’s role while Mahesh Bhatt wants to take Alia Bhatt for the remake.

Dil Hai Ki Manta Nahin was a huge hit back in the 1990s. The original movie itself was inspired by the 1934 Hollywood film It Happened One Night. It was produced by Gulshan Kumar (Bhushan Kumar’s father) and the Bhatt brothers.
