Adventure of SUNDAY! hahaha (lame)

okay la.. basically started off with the repetitive wake up call from my DAD: "Jian, wake up and take bath", "Jian, wake up and take bath", "Jian, wake up and take bath". Imagine that same tone for the "calls", how can i resist the "temptation" to get out AS FAST AS POSSIBLE from my bed? hahaa~

Around 9.30a.m. we went to Sunway Pyramid with my aunty's family for breakfast!! Canton-I. Nothing much to mention about meal, but I am facing right at SUNWAY LAGOON!!! suddenly feels like going for one day trip... then the Ice Ring.... argh i wanna go ice skating....... (and so the rant continues...)

Jalan-jalan for awhile and then headed to Jusco Klang.

Such a disappointing place!! Not worth travelling that far for it absolutely!! Firstly choices are not good, even compared to Jusco Maluri and Kepong; auto-pay system is like shitty, used about 20 minutes to find that stupid machine lei!!. I seriously do not understand: why are there so MANY people going to Jusco Klang?? Even the rooftop parking is full when we wanna leave... Jusco Klang compared to malls in KL is like... okay i am not gonna say anything. rest my case.

And then headed to Times Square to hunt for shoes. I found a suitable and satisfying one, tested so many times, talked to the salesman for like 30 minutes and then, TADA!!!

You guys gonna look at my new..... I didn't buy it.

Not my fault OKAY! because the left one (shoe) is abit cacat.... of course I won't spend RM80+ for a cacat-ed shoe right?! bet all of you guys will do like what i did too~

Then daddy took us to Peel Road for dinner and balik lo...

Bottomline. I didn't buy anything at all. Oh, one tie. that's it.

Today's post is about... MAKAN!!!

Bright and nice Sunday ^^

Dad and Mum were.. so.. excited, that they wanna go to my hostel-to-be in Shah Alam and take a look. There we go, searching for - Kolej Cendana!

The journey took about, less than one hour, and I saw my future hostel. The place looks serene, and quite safe (I suppose) as the police station is situated right beside the hostel.

But.... I don't find any Chinese food stall around!!! Oh My God..... Hopefully I can get used to it. Some people say: You will be halal from Monday to Friday, and non-halal on Sat and Sun!! @@

After that we went to Klang for lunch. Bak Kut Teh ( pork tea?). it's actually pork cooked with the traditional, Chinese medicine thingy. Yummy actually. And I noticed some differences of Klang's restaurant and KL's...

1. They actually have "this stuff", to.. hold the “basin" used to wash forks and spoons, and to hold teapots!!

2. Kettle with a... gas tank? is it the name?

3. Yes. We are supposed to use THAT kettle to refill the teapots ourselves.....

4. And did I mention, they gave us a whole basket of different bags of tea leaves and we are to pick ourselves?

It's actually a "zhap fan" 杂饭 stall.

Look at the OMG variety!!!

And oh, after that went to Times Square for movie -> Shrek 4....

It's a nice show by the way. Just don't like that kind of ending. "Dreams" ending..

We had.. pork (again), coconut chicken (?), er...black chicken (according to dad, the chicken is black, nutritious!) and one more is mutton.

College!

Quite some time since my last update. Yes I know...

College life is FUN!! Er.. Okay for your info, I am taking Diploma in Business Studies (Accounting) in TAR College.. The well-knowned, heavily populated by Chinese (yipee!) college. hahahaha... Gosh I love TARCollege...

The campus is really, really BIG. Facilities are good, rooms are equipped with air-cond.. (duh...), BIG Cybercentre open for students' use, library so on so on... I can get lost in TAR college okay! And need to take out the map and see see seee to get to class and lecture. So embarassing loh..

Well, college life is really different... One subject has only one lecture and one tutorial per week, unlike those days in SCHOOL. So, kinda really depends on the students... Anyway, I am glad very much that I left SAB, no way to stand those rules already... the tuitions... uniform... hectic studies... NOOOOO~

And I am so happy that, when I turn my head in lecture hall, I see..... hahahah... not gonna tell here. Ask me bout that. =P

Stupid motobike. Hit me ady still noisy noisy. But luckily he didn't hit and run though....

The whole front bumper of my car BROKE and FELL DOWN!!! how to drive??? Luckily it happened just at the very junction before the street my house is..

Memorable indeed!! Food served is much better than those sold to students.. even though is prepared by the same people. UNFAIR right!! But nah, I am not studying there already so I DON'T CARE!

Then went to Pavilion for Iron Man 2. Which is SO NOT AS EXPECTED. I thought it would be good, as the first one. Waste money...

我是下午时间表的

所以一点才出发去kajang

到了是两点了。。

可是呢

我到的时候

发现竟然有Ulangan的人

（就是以前他们考了，可是没有及格，所以要再重考）

他们罢了都已经有20多个了

所以我等了30多个人@@

到我的时候已经是三点多了~

还不用紧呢！

我等了足足50多个人勒！！！

差不多6点才轮到我。。

幸好及格了，

要不然真的是气死人……

回到家的时候已经是要8点晚上了

时间过到酱快的

一下子就要到四月尾了

然后多一个星期

就要开学

这差不多五个月

我是怎样过的？

十二月尾到二月中，去了新加坡

（幸好有去，要不然都不知道怎样过那一个月多~）

去帮舅舅做做工

出去玩

嗨，我知道我说过很多次了

但是新加坡真的真的很棒哦！！

Quite some time since my last post... This one is not planned properly!!

Okay to sum up my happenings.

went out a lot these few days, spent A LOT of money (T.T), had karaokes, majlis anugerah cemerlang Titiwangsa (YES!! got money! hahahaa) and bowlings (I suck).

Summary done. ^^

Anyway, I'm really happy to meet back all my ex-school friends. Gosh I am so gonna miss you guys~

Today is birthday celebrating day! Of Encik Syed Anwar Aljunid (wonder I spell correctly..) Oh he is already old la~~ we are still young. Hahaa.

Celebrated at Madam Kwan’s, Pavilion. 13 people went, including the birthday “boy”. And we had a fruit cake from kern Hui’s cousin for the birthday cake..

We had, bday boy, Kern Hui, Mun Weng, Joshua, Melvyn, Mu Yi, Ceng Yew, Fu Sing Fu Seong, Me, May Teng, Kee Lin and Sabrina!

Then gotta wait for like 2 hours + before movie, so we ate at McD, and walked walked around...

Found the right place to lepak! à Jusco Mid Valley. Why? Because of,

And watched Date Night. Nice movie. Funny. Haha. But I still prefer Beauty on Duty more. ^^

Day 2, Petronas EduQuest Camp

Day 2!!

Sorry lah I was lazy... hahaha

I can’t stand the BUZZZZ-ing of the BLOOD-SUCKING mosquitoes, and I didn’t sleep at all whole night, so went for shower and all at 5.45a.m. Did I mention the melayus in my dorm didn’t wanna bother me? Yeah so end up pretty lonely in dorm. =/

Day 2 started off with interviews – personal and in group. I was in Group B, that means, interview in the morning, paper exams at noon. And Alvin was in the same group as me! So we were divided into smaller groups, and I have 2 malayus and one Indian boy with me – Arif, Faiz and Yasok. Haha. Hi there~

We were given a topic to discuss – Addiction. And waited for HELL LONG (zzzzz) for our turn. I feel my interview session was rather... shorter than others.. Did that mean that mine was not good? No idea... And there was one interviewer, so LCLY, closed eyes lah, slept la, yawned la, picked up calls la.... zzz Cannot tahan. And then he shoot me with funny and troublesome questions like, If the celebrity take drugs, what u gonna do to prevent his fans from taking drugs as well? And, how to stop advertising (or whatever) of drugs on the NET.

Group discussion was, okay~

And, lunch time!!! Walked all the way from Block B to Registration Area. (Quite far OK). Makan makan and then went to Great Wall of ~~China~~ UTP with Singyew and Alvin. Hahaha... They are so funny laaaa. =P

Dad said a restaurant in Bidor is famous. Hence wasted one hour for going by the old road, found the place, makan, and, GOSH not nice one la.... zzz

Anyway Bidor is like a, typical small town.. small roads, students walking about (just-finish-school time gua), and even got people bringing two bunches? of petai walking around asking whether wanna buy anot. Wanna look for that in KL? Hahaha...

And daddy bought a lot of nice and delicious “tau sa piah” from Penang! ^^

Day 1, Petronas EduQuest Camp. Perak.

P.S. This is wordy.

Yawn~~

I slept for only 3 hours and, departed! To Perak. Woke up at 5a.m., started the journey at 5.45a.m.

I explained why I have to go to Perak already the last post, so I shall skip that for this..

Woohoo! Destination is, Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP), Tronoh, Perak. It’s located in a small small town, outskirt of Ipoh, capital of Perak. Oh by the way, Perak is a state in Malaysia, north of Selangor and KL.

On my way to UTP, we saw three road accidents... speechless. First one is a, van or lorry, can’t be sure; second one is a car, and third one is a lorry. Looks like people are driving recklessly, huh? Now I believe that, there is accident everyday in Malaysia. @@

And wow, people in Tronoh drive recklessly too! Even old man. Well, Dad took a wrong turn and drove into Tronoh the town, and gosh! People there, thought no car will be on the road or something like that. They just drive out from a junction as they wish. Sweat.

Reached UTP by 8.10 a.m. And headed to the registration area, registered, and I saw Syed Ahmad there. He applied for, Chemical Engineering if I am not mistaken. And from him, I knew that Ali Akram is doing foundation in UTP already...

So, very VERY unfortunately, I got accommodation at a hostel not in UTP, which is at Institut Kemahiran Belia Negara (IKBN). The accommodation is horrible. The place is terrible.. Well, perhaps I am the unlucky one..

Got Dorm 1, at ground floor, and I chose the most corner bed. They are all Double Decker. And my dorm-mates are all Malays, with me, the one and only Chinese. And somehow I was isolated. No communication. They don’t bother me at all. ==

Well, who cares? One night only. I can do it.

Then left our luggage, and took off by bus back to UTP again, at the Chancellor Hall. The hall is BIG, LARGE, HUGE, GIGANTIC for a university. Wonder how much they spent on just this hall...

And by that time, I got to know 2 friends, Sing Yew from Penang and Alvin from Klang! Hi there. Haha..

There goes, welcoming remarks by UTP Rector, Corporate Briefing of UTP and Petronas. Actually, something remarkable is, their time management is really good. No rubber-time of Malaysia is practiced. Thumbs Up.

And, Petronas offers – Education LOAN not scholarship. Which means, scholars need to pay back by serving a bond period of 10 years for engineering courses, and 7 years for others. For my case, it would be 7 years. I applied for Accountings. And, If I ever leave within that 7 years, or I didn’t do well in my studies, I will have to pay back all expenses spent on me. Imagine, pay back RM 1 million. Gosh...

Then we had lunch, and bye to parents~ Ohh, food is not bad.

Next, by 2 p.m., we had the document management session, a.k.a. hand over our certificates to UTP. Tea Break is, some kuih and a bottle of mineral water.

Then we are brought to the Main Hall for a questionnaire, something likely to test our personality. 1 hour. Then, brought back to IKBN, took shower, dinner, back to Main Hall in UTP for, EXAM..!!

Maths and Science Test. What la.. I didn’t touch books for 4 months already. Couldn’t solve a lot of questions, especially Physics questions. At that time I was quite certain that – Bye, Petronas~! Haha. After the 1 hour test, we were back to Hostel, supper was an apple and water, and sleep time!

Hahahaha...

THIS WAS WHEN HELL BEGAN.

Number 1.

I could not sleep because light was on. The surau room is beside my bed. Erm, okay. Dorm 1 is actually whole ground floor, but one part is separated by cupboards and divided into 2 rooms. One became the dorm, one became SURAU. Or, okay la, should say, prayers’ room something. And light was on till near 12a.m.

Number 2.

Some people, don’t know where ( heard Dorm 7) were shouting and having fun etc, and made a lot of NOISE.

Number 3.

THIS IS THE WORST.

Hundreds and Thousands of Mosquitoes were torturing me! Till I had no choice, than to pull out my blanket from my bag and hid my whole body in the blanket. But then, They were at my ears, at my head, everywhere!! Grr..... Imagine that ANNOYING bzzzzz sound at your ears. HOW TO SLEEP????? I thought of covering my whole body including my head. But I scared, later I frightened the people beside me... Might look like a corpse. LOL.

And hence, a sleepless night.

A 2 days 1 Night Eduquest camp, by Petronas. Some kind of election and interview sessions for the scholarship. It's in Perak!!

And Hell, I need to be there by 8 a.m., which means, I need to depart by, 5 a.m.??? @@

Hope that it will be a fun and nice and cool trip.

Okay, to sum up what I have been doing all this while... Chinese Paladin 4!!! 仙剑奇侠传四.

This game is just nice. Well, perhaps because I am very much a fan of Chinese Paladin series. ^^ The series 仙剑奇侠传 and 仙剑奇侠传三 are great. Finished one series in like.. 3 days online? Thanks to PPS. Hehehe...

Yeah, so went to watch some awesome movies.

Clash of the Titans itself is nice. But not the 3D version. 2D and 3D are like.. no difference!! Wasted the money into nothing. Oh. Perhaps, the subtitles are 3D, only. LOL. And, what can I say. The movie is like, so so so short!!! Don’t get the sense of thrill and excitement.. ==”

Beauty on Duty is COOL!!! (Cantonese movie)

OH MY GOD people, go watch this one! Damn Funny laaaa.... hhahaha.... The whole movie is a success to me. And it’s not like, it depends solely on the trailer to attract people. The whole movie is as great as the trailer!! ^^ Rated it, 4 out of 5 stars. Or perhaps 4 ½ out of 5. Hehe... It’s really nice!!!

How to train your dragon is cool too.. Just that somehow I feel that the should-be-scary-and-eerie NightFury, is more like a cat.. =x The story is very nice. And this one, 3D is definitely worthy!!

Okay, I shall be back to my Chinese Paladin 4 already. Ciaoz.

JPA Interview 2010

Finished the INTERVIEW!!!

Was in Panel Six. It’s not that scary after all...

Well we went into the room in groups of five. Three interviewers. Conducted in Malay and English. About 30 minutes. The interviewers are old and nice. Perhaps older people are always nicer? Hahhaa...

Anyhow I guess I was rather lucky to get this panel.. They just asked about general stuff like, who’s my idol, who’s my motivator, what is my second plan and so on. Unlike another panel (7 if not mistaken), the interviewers asked what was on the news yesterday. OMG!! ><>

By the way, saw Harinder (chatted a lot), Tong Kwun J, Joo Er, Hong Kyenk, Jaarvis, Xin Yi... And I don’t smell like smoke. @@

Okay to be more detailed, we have to look for our names on the board when we reached. Searched which panel we are in, and then head over to the waiting space. Parents are not allowed there. Bring your bags along. Then, the kerani will take the certified photocopies needed. Next she will arrange candidates into groups, and then you hand over your clear folder to her, and later, you are in! Leave the bags outside the room.. And they do provide papers. So, bring a pen. But I didn’t use the pen though. Most of us did not.

Just some tips for my fellow friends, JPA interview 2010,

1. Sit properly. Sit straight!

2. Speak properly.. Don’t speak in rojak. And, don’t mumble..

3. Pay attention to the whole interview session! I

In my group there was this boy, he ASKED the interviewer what question did he gave, after me answering that question!!

4. Shake hand with the interviewers after the session. They are nice.

5. Be the initiator when a question is asked openly.

One typical day

Had my second driving lesson today, and I drove all the way from my home in Maluri to Bandar Tun Razak!!! And reached speed of 60km/hr... hehehe... But still having problem with clutch timing.. And going uphill and parking... all because of the clutch. ==

And had to face the monitor whole day long. Have no idea why today is unusually boring...

So, I watched this.. Shutter Island on PPS. (currenly my time-occupier, hehhee)

I am not saying this movie is bad or what, but it really makes me go haywire. What is the truth??? Why can’t the producer just tell us at the end? Gosh... feels like hanging half way. Zzz

And I watched this too.. Jump 跳出去

Movie is nice, storyline is typical but good. Hahaha... Zhang Yuqi 张雨绮 is like so pretty~! Hahaha....

And, now, I feel like watching one more movie... hehe..

Day 3 in Hospital Kuala Lumpur.

a.k.a. Last Day in Hospital Kuala Lumpur.

Today will be the most relaxing day of all three days. We only had one visit – to the emergency unit.

Well, emergency unit was a bit deserted than usual (heard from the doctor-in-charge of us). One thing, doctors in this department have to work for 24 hours (with shift of course). And get to see a lot of new, exciting incidents every day. LOL.

Just went around visiting, looking around, and lastly had conversation with the doctor. She is friendly! Haha..

Then after lunch, we had a dialogue session with the Deputy Director of GH (Medical), Dr. Ding Lay Ming, and another two officers. And, Dr. Ding is so so so SO like Puan Chew!! The way she dresses, talks, even the tone is about the same!! I wonder if she is a relative of Puan Chew.

So, the last day of the program. Gotta miss all my friends.. =)

Day 2 in Hospital Kuala Lumpur.

Marks the second day in Hospital Kuala Lumpur.

Today is better.. I don't feel that exhausted like yesterday.

So, we visited three departments today.

The forensic department.

Everyone was like so excited to see a postmortem being carried out. Too bad we did not have the luck to watch the doctors dissecting the corpse. Only simple procedures like cleaning and taking measurements. I have no idea. Maybe it's a blessing in disguise? After all it's not an easy task to watch people being "cut" and have the organs taken out and all. But I do feel wasted as.. well, it is definitely something new to be experienced!

The obstetrics and gynecology department

Nothing much about this department. Just get to see cute cute newborn babies.

The outpatients department

This is quite boring. Get to see how blood is taken from a patient, how consultation is done, dressings and so on so on. blah blah blah...

All in all,

Today is really better than yesterday. Yesterday was horrible and terrible!!!

And, the program is gonna be over very soon... one day left...

Day 1 in Hospital Kuala Lumpur.

I shall talk about this first. I applied for the medicine course for JPA scholarship. (JPA = Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awam or Public Service Department) Hence, I have to go to Hospital Kuala Lumpur (widely known as GH, General Hospital) for a five-days program, known as Program Pendedahan Kerjaya Seorang Doktor (Exposure of The Career as a Doctor Program).

So, here starts the “adventure” in GH.

Reached at about 8.15a.m., in full formal attire aka long sleeve, slacks and a tie.

I did not take photo though, looks pretty weird. Later I get asked, “Hey, you came here for the program or to take photo har???” Lol.

And to my surprise, there are many SABians! 10. Me, Huee Ming, Fui Teng, Chiew Teng, Jaarvis, Kimberly, Aaron, Zakiah, Harinder and Hafizah. Well, some applicants wore T-shirts, jeans, sneakers, and so on so on. There are 220+ people over there! And that is only one hospital. Take 200 multiply by 20? 4000 people applied for medic...? OMG. ==

Oh. The program is shortened into 3 days only. Thank God. Hahaha...

We were divided into groups, watched a video on GH and listened to a talk. For my group (Group 3), our first visit will be to the Orthopedic Department. We got to visit wards, talk to patients, visit the orthopedic clinic and talk to the doctor, or more specifically, a specialist.

Yeah, I have a new friend! All the way from Raub, Pahang! Haha.. Hi.. =P

Lunch Break, and then the General Surgery Department. No opportunity to visit Operation Theatre, but had a talk instead. Visited the wards, talk and talk. Haha.. I was dead tired.

So, the information I obtained from the doctors:

1. Being a doctor = Rather no life out of work. No Friday nights, free weekends, well, rarely? The second home is the hospital. Or maybe can be considered as the first home.

2. On calls is tiring. 24 hours, 36 hours, 48 hours... And every doctor-to-be has to undergo housemanship for 2 years. And the 2 years will be a “wonderful” experience. Mark the inverted commas.

3. Working in a government hospital, pay is, so so. What I heard was, about RM3500 for a fresh graduate, a specialist will get about RM 5000 to RM6000.

4. Hectic work life. Everything will be work, work and work. Difficult to get days off on holidays like Chinese New Year, Raya and so on. Means, celebrate your new year, in the hospital, or perhaps the last day of the festival.

5. Okay la. Something good. Satisfaction when a patient is cured, and when he comes and thank you with a big smile...

6. Job security of course.

So, how is being a doctor like?

Under JPA scholarship, it will be 6 years of studying + 2 years housemanship + 3 years serving as public medical officer + another 5 years bonded to government. A total of 16 years!!!

And, wearing the doctor coat doesn’t mean that you are having a wonderful life.

Post SPM Results？outing

This is after SPM results!!!

Keeny Hoo, Ceng Yew, Serene Tai, Yee Shan came to my house to ‘gather’ first before we head to school, for SPM results. And some people ar... say 9.30a.m. wanna come. And hence someone waited at the door till 10a.m. only can see some people arriving. Somemore got ONE person ar... when someone called that ONE person, that ONE person said ONE person just woke up from bed worr....

LOL.

Tried to keep our mind distracted from SPM results. Haha..

Then came Maggie and Joo Ling.

We were quite late to arrive at school. Took results, answering calls, blah blah blah and dah dah dah.

And then we went to Sungei Wang! Actualy this is what I wanna write coz I wanna post these pictures. ==

Today I woke up, brushed teeth, took breakfast, met friends, played basketball, went home. That’s it.

This is just an example. Hahaha... Heard from someone.

SPM is officially over

Looks like everything is over. A new stage is going to begin. But, this little kid here is still unsure of the path he needs to take. So, don’t ask what course I am going to take and where am I going to study, because I have no idea!!

Results is better than what I had expected. Well, I already knew I cannot get A+ for Chinese, and I am not regretful for taking up this subject. After all I think this year will be the last (mostly) for SPM students to take up Mandarin as it is hard to scored, and only 10 subjects can be taken, maximum. Well, of course, who wants an anomaly in the results slip? I mean in general.

Okay. Problems are.

Firstly, I don’t know WHAT I want in myself. I don’t know my interest.

Secondly, I don’t know WHAT to study.

Thirdly, I don’t know WHICH college to go due to financial reasons.

Fourthly, I don’t know whether I should wait for outcome of JPA scholarship FIRST before deciding anything.

Fifthly, due to the fourth one, I don’t know whether I should go for March intake or July intake.

And I can easily be haywire when I think about this issue. Sorry, it’s ALL these issueS.

Hopefully everything will turn out right. And, CONGRATULATIONS to everyone, no matter how your result is, because we must think ahead of us now! No time to waste on reminiscing about the past!

Pre-SPM Results yumcha session

10 hours more before SPM results being announced...

And I seriously don’t like it when people say, eh Jon you don’t need to worry loh.. you sure can get straight As blah blah blah blah one... What? I am human also and I have feelings. And I can get scared and nervous as well like all people born in year 1992 in Malaysia OKAY??

To distract myself from SPM results, and also to fulfill the promise of going yumcha with Fui Teng, went to Times Square today. But Yan Yuan didn’t come.. So left two of us lo..

And I am so so so SO SORRY for making you to wait for me for one hour... ><>

Went for movie.. Here Comes Fortune.

But the atmosphere was really wrong. Coz it’s like already 3 weeks after Chinese New Year. And they keep saying Gong Hei Fatt Choy. LOL. But the storyline is good.

Then went for “dinner” which was at 5pm. Haha.. Settles at Mr. Ramen at Level 4 I think. Price is okay okay but frankly, food is not really okay... =/

But the place is so NOT okay! Will experience mild “earthquake =P” when the roller coaster is near. zzz

So.. tomorrow is SPM results day. After studying for 5 years... And after tonnes of exams and exercises and latih tubi and so on. After 1 month plus of SPM and 3 months plus of holiday.. So here comes the most important day in whole secondary life... 11^th March 2010.
