Tired!! Roti Part 2

Tiring... the first week is..

maybe it's because i'm not familiar with the work yet, or maybe because of the unusual pattern of my sleep, or maybe i just get tired from walking to the Uni for about 30 minutes per trip.

but it's only until today, I'll not start working again on Monday, so i have lots of free time on the weekends.

Learnt to make whole lots of bread types, Croissant, Danish, Wholemeal Bread, White Bread, Multi Grain Bread, Muffin, Cup Cakes, Cheese Cake, Fruit Cakes, Sliders, Doughnut, Pies, Turnovers etc.

The best thing is that I've learnt how to make it all by myself in 3-4 days, started making most of the stuff I've mentioned myself this morning.

Maybe that's why it's tiring? But i found out that it's quite fun making bread.

Now i feel like i'm in the Yakitate! Japan manga...... If only i have a solar hand.. hahaha

Got a new job yesterday. As a helper in a bakery. Lots of stuff to do. Lots of stuff that i learnt too. From Croissant to Danish, Pizza to Cakes. My starting work hours are from 5a.m. (or 4a.m. depends on me) until 10/11 a.m.

Now i feel like reading Yakitate! Japan (a manga about baking) over again.

Alhamdulillah,

I finally found somewhere to stay for the next two semesters, it's located quite near UQ, about 10-15 minutes walk.

Cozy enough for me, got my own room which is quite large with a single bed, 2 door wardrobe, a table and a bedside cupboard.

One negative point is just that the room only have one powerpoint, got to remember to buy the multi outlet plug

The good thing is that the internet here is fast! But it have a quota of 150gb i think?

Big day tomorrow, gonna meet my advisor to discuss on my course selection

Australia Backpacking Trip Day One

Hello,

Finally had a time and an internet connection for some updates.

Started my backpacking journey on Tuesday and arrived in Gold Coast on Wednesday morning.

Had some trouble in the customs, said that they found traces of Heroin in my backpack which i borrowed from my cousin. I panicked a bit cause it is a serious offence, but they decided that it might be just a trace of drugs that might be carried by money, hands or etc.

So much for a good first day.

I went ahead outside, and considering i didnt make any plans, im blanked at where to go next.

After reading the pamphlet, i decided to go to Surfers Paradise in Gold Coast and stay there for a night. I always wanted to go there, and considering i need a place to stay for the night, might as well sleep there.

I went ahead to find a backpackers hotel there, unfortunately none of them have free wifi, so i just went ahead and choose the cheapest one, which is the Backpackers Paradise

The place is okay, but didn't have a lot of services or amenities available such as laundry or TV lounge.

Went ahead to the beach with just a board shorts and t shirt.

For lunch i went ahead and buy a Halal Pizza from a Turkish stall. Thats the cheapest meal i can get.

The temperature was 15 degree C and i went crazy and just dive in the cold freakin water.

it was super cold! This is the first time that i ever felt this cold and wet at the same time.

after some swim i had a shower at a nearby shower booth.

After that i went for a walk at the Surfers Paradise Market, which looks like a 'Pasar Malam' in Malaysia , bought some souvenirs for friends, and for fisya too.

For dinner i bought the same pizza, as it was tasty and cheap.

and went ahead for a walk in the city area. Bought more souvenir and had a chance to see a street show, a stuntman doing a juggle on a tall unicycle.

Went back to the hostel for a sleep cause i have a long day the next day.

Kuala Lumpur - Shah Alam - Frasier Hill -Australia - Singapore

Will be going to Kuala Lumpur to meet my bos and receive the e-ticket for Australia from him,

to Shah Alam to meet someone , Frasier Hill to have a vacation with my best friends and to Australia for a backpacking trip and to have a view of my future University in Brisbane and last but not least to Singapore to go to Universal Studios again .. :)

Can't wait!

Swimming Fools

Another entry today, since i'm not working today because i have a medical leave, boy sure do i have a lot of free time.lol.

I've been joining my Kuantan friends for a 'serious' swimming session at Kompleks Belia dan Sukan's

Swimming Pool in Indera Mahkota. It's actually an officially sized swimming pool made for SUKMA last time they were held here in Kuantan. The fee is only RM2.50

Why i said it was a serious swimming session? One because usually i went for a swim just for fun, but this time, i've learnt how to do a "Butterfly Stroke" (google it if you want to know about it) and other strokes, i've also learnt how to float.(I can swim, but i can't float, go figure)

Two is because the reason i joined in is to build back my muscle after a long period of resting. They can become flabby you know, especially at the leg area since its been a LONG time since i've stopped playing football or soccer.

I've seemed to likened Butterfly Stroke since it uses the whole body to swim, hence a great whole body exercise, to tone your body.

Oh, and you know what, i have a flu from yesterday, and i still went swimming yesterday. lol.

Its been a while since my last entry. Not that i have lost my interest in blogging, but so much thing happened during the past 2-3 weeks that i haven't really have a lot of free time to do this thing.

Well, i've been to Kuala Lumpur, Shah Alam, Kuantan, Pekan, back to Johor Bahru, then back to Kuala Lumpur again, and now in Kuantan. Due to the fact that i've started to work in Pekan, i've been here for the past week.

In Kuala Lumpur i had a chance to go to Adam Lambert's Glam Nation Tour Concert, thanks to a free THE PITT ticket from a relative of mine. Not really a fan of Adam Lambert, coz i prefer Kris Allen anyways, and the fact that he's a gay certainly made me lose interest in most of his song.

But a concert is a concert, and the front row ticket certainly made me excited to join in!

Unfortunately i didn't bring my camera, so just a low quality picture from my iPhone would suffice.

Oh yeah, i have a fever. Caught a flu yesterday. Damn i hate flu. Seems like this is an unlucky week for me. Lots of 'bad' thing happened this week, i hope tomorrow will be a better day...

Glee Season 2

Just done watching episode 2 (Britney/Brittany) of the new season.

Let me say this.. Whoaaa Brittany..!

The season kicks off right after 'New Direction' defeat in the regionals.

There are a couple of new characters which includes Charice!, new coach (no more Ken Tanaka),

Rachel which is too skinny for and the new 'Asian Fusion' lol.

The song selection for the first two episode is interesting, more newer hits are "Glee'd" up

and the second episode is all about Britney Spears!

Not really a fan of Glee, but since "Heroes" got cancelled, need something to make me wait every week to download and watch it, and the new season of Glee is great!

Also kinda hooked on "How i met your mother" :D

LG Live Fan Zone : Mariah Carey, Pregnant but still great!

After the race, we rushed to the concert area in the vicinity of Zon 4 so that we can get to stand closer to the stage. As the tags are limited, we grabbed it early on before the race.

But people we're queuing at the entrance since 4p.m. and sacrificed watching the race, but we still got a spot quite close to the stage.

not quite a fan of Mariah Carey, but can't miss a chance to watch a concert and watching an international superstar / diva up close.

Mariah Carey appear at around 11, half an hour later from the time scheduled, such a diva.. lol

Before the concert, i thought i'm gonna be bored as hell watching the concert.

Guess what, when Mariah starts to perform, i started to sing-a-long and move to the rhythm of the song. lol. The power of the crowd and a live performer.

Damn Mariah is huge. I remembered reading somewhere about that she's pregnant, but don't want to announce it yet. She doesn't want to "jinx" it.

Some of the song that Mariah sang (that i knew) were Obsessed, Touch My Body, Shake it Off, My All, We Belong together, I'll be there, Always be my baby.. etc.

Mariah was great. Can be better though, maybe because she is pregnant?

Owh. And we are standing just beside Scha Al-Yahya and Awal Ashaari. (well, just beside my niece, damnn.. lol). By the way, Scha is not that tall. Always thought she were taller than me, but she was slightly taller than my niece and slightly shorter than me. But Awal is about 2-3cm taller. AND she smiled at me! :D (cairrrrr... lol)

Talked a bit with them (she asked are we malaysians, from where etc.)

Later we went to Mustafa Center (again.. ) to buy some stuff, and guess what, Scha and Awal is there too, buying perfumes (See! even artist buy perfume here! haha) and we decided to avoid them so that we weren't labeled as stakers. haha

2010 Formula One Singtel Singapore Grand Prix.

What a long name for an event.
Went there last Sunday, got the tickets free from a friend. Thanks!
The ticket was for Zon 4 Walkabout. (sigh, i wish it was Grand Stand tickets..)
Received it on Sunday afternoon, and i wasn't planning on going if it wasn't for the free tickets. Oh, and free concert ticket to LG Live Fanzon featuring Mariah Carey!

Went there with my niece, this is her first time going to a concert and a live sports event (usually her father wouldn't let her go to this places. My brother is very strict about this -.- ).

We arrived at Clarke Quay Parking at about 4 p.m. and walked to Gate 4 which is about 20 minutes away. The reason we parked here is because it is cheap! Only $2.50 for 9 hours!

An 'undercover' police approached us when we almost reached the gate. They need our help in testing the security at the gate. So i gave him my ticket, and i didn't knew what happened next, as we were asked to wait with his partner by the bus station. Got back my tickets 5 minutes later. (And i only got a thank you as a reward, dang! )

The security is very tight at the gate and we were checked thoroughly, i feel like i was at the airport, i had to empty my pockets which is full of coins because they check me with a metal detector.

We then rushed to the LG Live Fan Zone to get our free tickets for the concert. (It is limited, so we have to get it first)

We had hours to spare as the F1 starts at 8p.m. so we go and watch the Porsche GT Grand Prix at a standing bleachers, had our arms tattooed and find a spot to watch the race.

Singapore City in Dusk

We watched the race at a standing bleachers near the half way of the circuit, which is on the Marina Bay Bridge. As this is my first Live F1 experience, i didn't expect it to be too loud for my ear! (We were so close to the car, and at the place where we were standing is the place where the cars starts to accelerate due to the now straight road)
Now i wished that i bought the ear plug or brought along my sound isolating earphone.
The first 5 laps was okay at first, but as the race goes on, my eardrums feels like it's going to burst!

Guess what, we saw him riding on a motorcycle going back to the McLaren Mercedes' garage ,
just in front of the Esplanade. He looked agry. lol.

We finished watching the race by watching the screen nearby the LG Live Fan Zone, even here the noise is still overwhelming!

Alonso finished the second last lap the fastest, a great finish by the Spaniard! Vettel tried hard to overtake, but the circuit is really narrow.

Spontaneous Trip: Singapore Revisited

I've went to Singapore again today. I just felt bored, and decided to just go to Singapore for a drive and to buy some stuff.

There's a first for today too.

This is the first time that i went alone and also drove my own car into Singapore.

Hey i'm a loner too... :P

So i went to make my own "Autopass". Now i can go to Singapore anytime i want.. :D

As usual.. i went to Mustafa Center. hehe.

After i parked the car and put some parking coupon, I went for a walk.

Then i key-ed in "Starbucks" in my GPS (for some free internet and to see if there something new and different in Singapore's Starbucks) The nearest is at The Concourse, 2km away.

I decided to walk there. fuhh...

I bought Creme Brulee' Blended Frappucino, which i haven't had a chance to try last time.

Pehh... I've became an instant fan. It is smooth, creamy and had a tad of an 'ice-cream' taste, compared to the Creme Brulee' Machiato i had last time, which is slightly more bitter and stronger taste of coffee.

While i was lounging there enjoying the free wifi and frapp, i've realised that it is almost 1.20pm and my parking coupon expires at 1.15pm! Dang! I've rushed and ran a bit towards my car which is 2km away, in the scorching heat of Singapore. Thank god the 'Parking Pontianak' (Parking Vampire) didn't reach my car yet. (they are very strict in timing, even if the coupon just expired for 1 minute)

Went back into Mustafa Center and buyed something for myself and friends :)

iPhone 4 : Unboxing and Review

Just bought an iPhone 4 yesterday. Totally an impulse buy. Planned to get it yesterday, and i contacted a friend who has a friend selling one. Organized to meet in the evening to see and inspect the sealed set, and bought on the spot. He got the set from Singapore. Here's the unboxing pictures. He bought it for SGD888, and sold it to me with some profit.

iPhone 4 has been launched starting in June but has just reached Singapore on 30th July. My first impression to this was "another iPhone?". But this is certainly a major step up from iPhone or iPhone 3G. Unless you're using 3Gs, you should consider using this top of the notch phone.

The design is one of the major reason i wanted to buy it. Instead of the plasticky, curved, silver-bezeled look of the iPhone 3G and 3Gs, the iPhone 4 is squarish and simple which i like, and it is actually made of 3 basic parts, which is two pieces of smooth, strengthened glass and a stainless steel band which wraps around the side. It is slightly slimmer but weights just the same as iPhone 3G. As the backside of the phone is also glass, there is less probability to be scratched. The phone sure looks much more expensive now.

The problem as we'all should know is the reception problem when we held it left-handed. This occur because of the internal antenna is positioned on the left side of the phone. They call it as the antenna-gate. But this problem can be settled by using a cover or a free bumper by Apple.

Battery life is amazing. I remembered during the first time of having the iPhone 3G, i have to charge it every single day. It is even worse now. But with iPhone 4, it has been 2 days without charging and i've used it for calling for more than 2 hours, some music, texting, apps and games, and it still have slightly less than 50% left!

The display, is just superb. The text on the iphone 4 looks far more superior than the iPhone 3G and it is even better than the laptop i'm using. I can even read the smallest text while surfing the web or reading my emails.

iPhone 3Gs and iPhone 4

Another new thing in iPhone 4 is the active noise cancelling. It has an extra microphone located on top of the phone, which works by separating noises detected by the top microphone, thus a better call quality :D .

Speedwise, it can safely said that iPhone 4 is 10 times much faster than their previous phone. Smooth transitioning between landscape and normal view, which is lacking in 3G, faster app initialization, faster camera. Basically, everything is faster, thanks to the 1Ghz A4 Processor.

In my approximation, the iPhone 4 is the best smartphone on the market right now. The combination of gorgeous new hardware, that amazing display, upgraded cameras, and major improvements to the operating system make this an extremely formidable package. Yes, there are still pain points that we want to see Apple fix, and yes, there are some amazing alternatives to the iPhone 4 out there. But when it comes to the total package -- fit and finish in both software and hardware, performance, app selection, and all of the little details that make a device like this what it is -- we think it's the cream of the current crop. I won't argue that a lot of this is a matter of taste -- some people will just prefer the way Android or Symbian works to the iPhone, and others will be on the lookout for a hardware keyboard or a particular asset that the iPhone 4 lacks -- but in terms of the total picture, it's tough to deny that Apple has moved one step past the competition with this phone.

Avril and Cleef's Young Joey

One of Avril and Cleef's Joey that accidentally grabbed on my hand when i tried to pet them.

It seems like i smelled familiar to them. Here's the video

clearest picture i can get. Looks more like a 'naked mole rat' right now.

First time i noticed them is more than a month ago, saw avril curling up, and i just picked her up, then i saw two small joeys climbing up to her pouch. The size is about the size of a grain of rice.

For now, the joeys is till not yet fully developed. Give them about 2-3 more weeks then they will be "out of pouch" or OOP meaning that they will not go into their mother's pouch anymore.

More update on them later. Still haven't figured out names for them. Any ideas?
