A whole week of traipsing from show to show can wear down even the strongest heels (and their wearer), so take a brief break from the latest trends and mix it all up with a fabulous party. After all, this is the city that never sleeps!
We have rounded up some of Fashion Week’s best nights out … and if you can’t snare an invite, there are plenty of cool club alternatives to take your mind off the day’s busy schedule.
You definitely can’t go wrong with the following options:

BAR 13
35 E. 13th Streets
Greenwich Village
http://www.bar13.com/

Bar 13 is well known among locals and visitors alike as a lounge, a club and an oasis away from your everyday rut. Sit down among the rooftop palms or lay low in the James Bond style martini lounge. Sip a bit before you shake your troubles away on one of our two dance floors. Internationally known DJs spin techno and house for an intimate dance experience all but disappeared from downtown. Just off the historic Union Square, turn the corner and weekly parties, drink specials and hip hop classics beckon.

PUBLIC ASSEMBLY
70 North 6th St.
Brooklyn, NY 11211
http://www.publicassemblynyc.com

Public Assembly is located at 70 North 6th Street in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Built out of an old industrial factory, the nearly 4000 square foot venue has been a space for art, music, and performance for over a decade.

Webster Hall – Green Room
125 East 11 th st New York, NY 1
http://www.websterhall.com

Located in New York City’s famous east village, WEBSTER HALL stands firmly as New York City’s largest and longest running nightclub. This 40 thousand square foot architectural landmark first opened its doors in 1886, and has been a gathering place for the people of New York City and the world for 137 years.
The green room is just one of several rooms at Webster Hall and often used by the fashion folk.

Kicking off this Thursday, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week promises to lure the usual flock of beautiful and impeccably dressed specimens to New York City. But while aesthetic treats might feed the spirit, the body requires nourishment, too, to survive eight days of fashion mayhem. So, take a moment to savour your time out – with a fancy drink or delicious meal – and explore New York’s culinary highlights, which are just as varied as the city’s fashion fare.

With only four more days to go, we invite you to shorten the wait with four select hotspots guaranteed to sweeten the anticipation. Take a healthy bite out of the Big Apple – and add a few tasty titbits from the city’s eclectic menu!

The Breslin Bar and Dining Room
Ace Hotel New York City
20W 29th Street
New York City, NY 10001
www.thebreslin.com

This one gets rave reviews in the press. New York Mag claims it has the best breakfast and elsewhere the fries and burgers are hailed as must-try. In any case, if you like a hearty meal and, particularly, English grub, this is the place to go. You will have a hard time focusing on your meal, however, as its usually also full of interesting people.

Top of the Strand
The Strand
33 West 37th Street
New York, NY 10018
Phone 212.448.1024
http://www.thestrandnyc.com

One of New York’s hottest nightspot, Top of the Strand, features stunning Empire State Building views, drinks under the stars, and sophisticated style. In fact, The New York Times recently wrote that “it’s not a stretch to imagine that you’re perched in a skybox, watching, up close, the gorgeous light show that is Manhattan at night.” Take the elevator up to the 21st floor and step out onto the rooftop deck. Here, midtown workers mingle with Strand guests, enjoy stunning views of the iconic grille of the Empire State Building.

Matsuri
369 16th Street
New York, NY 10011
http://matsurinyc.com

Matsuri means ‘festival’ in Japanese. Matsuri is a time to shake off the serious business of life and to enjoy the pleasure of company.
Matsuri introduces a world of cooking beyond its amazing sushi selection. Exuberant, fun and stylish, Matsuri also ushered in a Japanese tapas cuisine, a procession of plates anything but fussy: ingredient driven, modern but informed by tradition, flavorful, surprising, sophisticated and utterly engaging. Late night, Matsuri’s Sakana menu of Japanese small plates compliment a wide selection of sake and shochu. With New York’s only sake sommelier, Matsuri’s sake selection is the largest in the city.
Matsuri has quickly won a devoted following for its vibrant, contemporary cooking and defined a new style of Japanese dining in New York.

Aureole
One Bryant Park
135 West 42nd Street
New York, NY 10036
http://www.charliepalmer.com/Properties/Aureole/NY/

Charlie Palmer’s unabashed, energetic signature Progressive American cuisine first took root in the original townhouse location of Aureole, where the chef made an early commitment to farm over factory food. Today, Aureole shines at the spectacular Bank of America Tower at One Bryant Park, the most environmentally advanced skyscraper in the world. Under the kitchen leadership of Executive Chef Christopher Lee, the sharply focused flavours continue to dazzle. Dining at the sleek, contemporary Aureole is staged in three venues: The Bar Room, Dining Room and Private Dining Room.

MAC Cosmetics

Like a vamp on a catwalk – mysterious, yet demanding – is how m.a.c. envisions the female of the species for its upcoming Fall/Winter 2010 campaign. The collection uses strong colours to accentuate facial contours, while dark lips add that extra bite … so, don’t mess with these “Fabulous Felines”!

Chanel

Inspired by Chanel’s upcoming collection – all slinky knits and super-thick furs –, Peter Philips, Directeur International de la Création Maquillage Chanel, dedicated to focus on „les contrastes.” The resulting colour palette clashes muted shades with shimmering tones: reminiscent of a romantic stroll on the Seine’s river banks, it promises to look equally great in a luxury chalet, set against the flickering flames of a rustic fireplace.

Burberry Kids

Ah, we know, we know … dressing your kids in Burberry might seem a bit poncey, but the designs are oh-so-cute! And why shouldn’t our offspring get the occasional taste of real quality?

We can still remember our own childhood days and those magical moments in upmarket boutiques, usually during the holidays … after endless fondling and back-and-forth, our mum would finally buy the coveted item and take extra care to keep it pristine. Most of these pieces became instant heirlooms and were passed on from one family member to the next.

So, what do you think: doesn’t everyone deserve a classic?

Little Marc Jacobs

Whether Little Marc Jacobs, Little Marc, Little MJ … all monikers point to the same man: last decade’s ultimate designer and king of chaos, redefined cliché and ‘non-concept.’

With his love for offbeat combinations and spontaneous dressing, Marc Jacobs is a kid at heart – so what could be more natural than creating a children’s range?

Little Marc Jacobs mixed and matches elements from the designer’s adult ranges with a delightfully naïve approach. But see for yourself: we have picked out a few of our personal favourites.
