Last years sunflowers left me with lots of stalks I just couldn&#39;t bare to get rid of. I left them harden outside all winter and spring and they were still in great condition as far as strength and durability! 

So I decided to make a trellis out of them.








I used twine to secure the sections. It was a tedious task, but I got it done. I treated myself this Mother&#39;s Day to some more garden flowers. Since the impatiens are still on sale, I bought some more and planted them in my chicken feeder and decided to place an old cake pan inside the top, fill with water and placed a rock in the middle for the birds to have a place to perch and drink.

 I was so excited to finally make some home made pumpkin pie from my garden pumpkins. I thawed out my pumpkin puree and added the sugar, spices, eggs, canned milk and vanilla. Mixed it all together and put in my pie shells.

The last of the green beans. It should be enough for Thanksgiving dinner - green bean casserole. Saving the last of the harvest will be a sweet addition to the table that special day.

After seeing nothing but corn all summer it is sort of weird to see, well, no corn! It is like a fence has been torn down and you can see across the field to the houses across the way.

 It won&#39;t be long until the farmer harvests his corn that sets behind our home. I thought I would take a picture of the moon lingering behind the corn field before he does. It makes for a spooky picture to use for my halloween collection.



My own corn was harvested after Irene took it out, so I dried it and made corn shalks for my outdoor decoration.
