This is the perfect epitome of how to make a movie (Makers of those dumb Indian flicks:Take a cue from this one) : Good direction,Awesome music,Excellent casting,Great storyline,Simply superb-overall

The movie really needs no introduction because it has been the talk of the world,ever since its release(and probably I'm the one who's running a li'l late to review it)!

If you haven't heard the story,already ,then this is it:The film is a romantic melodrama that follows the mysterious case of an Indian street orphan,Jamal Malik(Dev Patel), who wins the grand prize on "Who Wants to be A Millionaire" in order to reconnect with his lost love, Latika (Freida Pinto) - but was it all blind luck, or was he cheating?

The laudable contrivance in the movie is the nature of the very last question and what happens when it's asked, but by then the movie had me in its grasp and the ploy totally worked.

As for the movie's sound track,this is what I've got to say:

I'm speechless (literally)- A.R.Rahman rocks !! No stopping him! There's this particular track-Dreams on fire (the song isn't played in the movie ) - the sound track's played every time Jamal and Latika happen to bump into each other and my oh my - Its the best music I've come across so far in 2009.When I hear this track I literally go someplace else and zap back to reality only after hearing it for atleast 5 times straight! :)

(I'm not a pro when it comes to reviewing...and this one definitely deserves more praise than what I've given!!! Hope it bags the Oscar)If you haven't watched it yet-"you have wasted half your lifetime"-Go to the movies!!!

This is a realistic portraiture of the life of an ordinary person,struggling to meet both ends meet.Why wouldn't it be realistic - its based on the true story about a man named Christopher Gardner who wasted his life's savings in some crap medical tool that he finds hard to sell..Welcome to the story where : Bad things happen to good people ,over and over again - Christopher Gardner(Will Smith) is the man - stuck in every plausible sitch : wife leaving him,business failing,non-paying job, son to be taken care of,no shelter,debts..But Chris is determined to make it ! And how he does is beautifully depicted.Its is not even slightly boring..conversely it keeps you hooked to know what is gonna happen next!Eventually Gardner's dreams are fulfilled beyond his wildest expectations, and he becomes a multimillionaire - but the journey from the street to the boardroom took 10 years.The man in the final scene that walks by is actually Chris Gardner.

If you thought the 'y' in happyness is human glitch,you are mistaken.Watch the movie and understand:)

Yea..and one more thing.. The title defence is awesome - why is it called pursuit of happyness ?Chris' thinking pattern reveals some philosphy of life :why is it called pursuing happiness,because we can never get it??and only pursue??? Watch this awesome movie!

Chetan Bhagat 's threesome

I've been looking forward to writing this for weeks...I 've read Chetan's works in chronologically reverse order..(not a good practice for a good reviewer-wannabe)Well well well.. Where can I begin??? Ok ..so here goes.. there is a certain nexus that is followed in the order of the review.Try figuring that out.

Three mistakes of my life.. Probably because I began with this book of his, that sums up for the time gap between reading this one and the rest of his works..In any case that doesn't mean it was a bad piece of work..I for one, was impressed with the style of writing - that had the right amount of Indian touch in it... but there was a certain charisma that I felt was missing(strictly personal)...This one's just another installment in showcasing the everyday life of some of the most inconspicuous people of India.Business,cricket and religion -all blended in an unhealthy proportion.. After reading the book, I kind of felt that it had just one major objective:Making the Indian youth vigilant and aware of some of the biggest problems that plague its society.And..Job well done indeed !The title in itself is a terrific head turner.

Five Point Someone-What not to do in an IIT (the debut book)was another great piece of writing, not from the literary dimension but from the normal not so brainy types dimension(me included in that club).Even though I'm non-IIT ian, this book is closer to the heart of the 3..there was so much I could identify myself with in the book.Totally loved the way he criticized the mugger-friendly education system in India..And yea..The way he managed to put the un-phrased thoughts sitting in the minds of many of us is something that puts me in awe..:O I'm a downright lover of one-liners..(My gtalk statuses speak volumes about that,in any case) and this one's sprawled with a handsome amount of it making my read all the more fun !! :)

One night @ the call center - This 289 pager is a tale of six people working in a call center called “Connexions” in Gurgaon. A story of screwed-up love life ,pain, sorrows, ambitions, personal trauma and the happiness - you name it !!This is the best of them all...I read this on my return journey from Chennai.. Man Was it fun!...Struck chords again !! ;).Management jargons, quasi Managers, Bosses who are real pain in the neck, how the society sees a call center guy…all these covered…I believe One Night@ the Call Center is fab!

One thing I noticed is that,Chetan always compares girls to something.. :O In 5ps ,"girls and icecreams are good to have..and esp together..." it went something like that..In ON@CC it was "Girls and automobiles are so much fun at night" !!!

There are lofty many things that make Chetan Bhagat a wonderful writer targeting Indian youth. His writing isn’t the same as JKR, where you apparated into a totally different world, isn’t the same as fantasy writers, who spend a large portion of their publications just explaining the jargon and commodities that they imagined, and neither is it like those philosophical It just feels almost, but not quite, entirely unlike Me, and many others who are a part of the growing India. I would be waiting to read more from him… I wish he updated his 'once a year updated' blog more often!

Somehow,of all the reviews I've typed,this one seems incomplete.. :( Maybe adding a few one liners I enjoyed should do the trick..?!?Shall write a separate post for that) For reasons such as exceeding the word limit, imposed personally,I'd like to quit here !

Had it been priced @ 300, I would have picked a pirated 70 bucks copy…smart guys they are… making cheapo books,which make it fast moving!!As for the nexus ,any guesses anybody??

This is one damn movie,portraying the evil life of a mad scientist who has just discovered how to make beasts invisible and undo it,as part of a military project for the pentagon.Evil,as he is,he tests it on himself and using this unique ability of invisiblity ,he stalks people...Until.... a certain point in which he looses whats left of him in a spectacular battle on top of a lift.

Things I learnt from the movie:

If you are stuck in a cooler,with temperature dropping down real fast, you should look around and find something to make an electromagnet and using it, unlock the door(which is bolted using iron bar on the outside)Pretty interesting way haan.??

overall its a okay movie... 2.89 stars from my lounger

Am writing this review long after I watched the movie...So here's how much I remember of it :PIts a story about two complete strangers hooked together by a mystery phone call from a Woman they've never heard of..The calls make these guys do dangerous stuff,at the gun-end(figuratively).Using everyday technology the mystery woman(lets just call her MW) tracks down their every move(imagine someone breathing down your neck)..The MW's careful planning of disaster is stunning(especially the bomb triggering when a certain F note on the trumpet is played..Ingenious,though Not existing...Who knows??!!?!) MW turns out to be AI(Oopsys...did i spill too many beans?? ;)) and its a gr8t tech/sci-fi movie you shouldn't miss!

Four Christmases

This is something I watched on Christmas eve(xactly one month after its release).Not the kinda movie you can watch as a family(nothing like the Grinch / Santa Clause / the like..)...Still I liked the core message of the movie : Christmas is a time to be with the family
Plot revolves around reese and vaugh who are the living together kinda family and the movie is the events happening on one day - Christmas, and how they learn about each other and their families and how their 3 year relationship takes a turn !
Four Christmases - worth 3 stars from my lounger !

Another thriller movie day today.. I must say the movie opening is great...with all those groovy numbers and alphabets...And the flick is worth watching once or maybe twice to review all thats said at the end...A fast and sublime thriller,with an incredible storyline(an amazing feat by the writers- cooking up everything to somehow end up with the number 23) and not to mention the script !Story is: man(Jim Carrey) gets obsessed with a book reflects his life soo much - all events in the book match with real life incidents - he realizes that the book actually is the literary confession of a killer under the name Fingerlings- sets out to find who he is -his hunch turns out to be wrong! - the Book has the final chapter '23' missing,which is kinda like the missing link in the story - Watch the movie to find out the rest :P

So the killer turns out to be ?????? The movies worth a watch,i.e., if you have absolutely no great job to do and want some psychopath ,serial killer mind baffling story :D !

The end is no happy ending.But I absolutely love the way the script made up for that.... "Maybe its not the happiest of endings ..but its the right one.Some day I'll be off the parole and then we can go on living our lives..its only a matter of time....of course time is just a counting system,numbers with meaning attached to them(clock shown in film 2:15 [clock hands on 2 and 3 get it :P])......Isn't it?"

The Butterfly Effect

The Butterfly Effect(nice title huh?) is one super cool,never seen before,heard before kinda movie.. Its about this guy who has this supernatural syndrome(who wouldn't call it supernatural if you could re-write your destiny) which makes him to go back and forth in time and take the different crossings on the road of life.(Reminds me of one South Indian movie 12B,in which Shyam takes 2 crossings in his life..but thats just a movie portraying his life if he had chosen option1 and his life as in option 2) But in this story the guy having this memory problem (that causes him black outs) tries to rewrite his fate by going back to childhood and doing a particular something ;) differently each time.This trial and error algorithm goes on and on.. and what happens in the end is really dramatic !

Its definitely one of a kind thriller and deserves a 4star thumbs up from my lounger !

Camp Rock

Camp Rock - a Disney Channel original is kinda like HSM(High School Musical) Recycled.. The story basically revolves around this girl called Mitchie who wants to fit it 'for once' in the popular crowd..and does so by fabricating some story! Normal teen stuff ,right?
Camp Rock is this musical camp where she learns the lesson of her life.Mitchie is the cook's daughter, who helps in the kitchen(cos thats the only way she could afford the camp) Will the secret be out .(D'oh..thats wat always happens in such kinda flicks).Her original composition is heard by the teen pop star at camp() and he is in search of the girl with the voice(sounds sooo cinderella -like !!) Plenty of things happen at camp...wrong accusations,mishaps cos of wrong choice of friends,yielding to peer pressure,trust broken,offended relationships....She gets this super amazing friend,Caitlyn(my favourite character in the movie) and they rock the final Jam ,the musical contest.(even tho' they are held back for wrong reasons,they find a way to get to it)If you are a teen and haven't watched this,I suggest you do so !
P.S: The soundtracks in the movie are simply great..I loved the camp rock theme,Here I am (tat Peggy sings), and the duet........ 'This is real,This is me' track ..It is simply amazing!! I'm hooked on to this awesome song ,for now!
After watching so much horror ,the movie was a welcome break!
The Jonas Brothers star in this movie too :)

Silent Hill

I totally didn't expect Silent Hill to be half this gross..Well this horror movie is set in a creepy town called Silent Hill...Those of you who have laid their hands on the game will find the movie incredible and awesome and the like...But for the remaining sailing with me..you'll find enough horror in this flick ! That for sure , comes packed with some gross encounters ,like I said.
Routed from sleepwalking problems, Rose Da Silva decides to take her daughter Sharon to the town she talks about in her sleep, Silent Hill, to face her nightmares, where Sharon goes missing and Rose must fight the power of the town to get her back.
One word to describe this movie would be: Women in action (oh btw,thats 3 words )Its girl guts in action over there ,with more than a touch of darkness and a tint of (what do u call it...[thinkin] ) maternal emotions !
Unlike Shutter (refer previous post) the end was sort of abrupt...If it weren't for the rolling credits,I wouldn't have known the 2 hour torment of grossness and darkness had come to an end..I was half expecting that this movie had a sequel..to my disappointment,it doesn't !! Although the game has some 6 parts (I think)
Makes a good watch if u r in for a long movie of the horror genre !

I watched Shutter today noon.. Didn't wanna watch it @ night time in case I get scared.Still...my philosophical system doesn't allow me to watch movies in daylight a environment..So I made the necessary arrangements and found the cosy spot to lounge on.. and within 5 minutes,I figured out this was gonna be just another illogical movie(I don't believe in ghosts,even better ... spirits captured in photographs.. But that actually is enough to scare anyone outta their wits!)
So basically..its about this couple on their honeymoon..followed everywhere by the spirit of a girl,who ruins their wedding life.. And how and why it happens is the plot.At some point you get the feeling the movie's gonna be over..but then you kinda figure out there's more to come..the flashbacks are the final piece of the movie.....The ending part of the movie is the best ! There are a few twists and turns in the same,which all blend together perfectly..
There are some parts borrowed from Ring (Hey,this is also a Japanese movie),but who cares as long as its good,people will buy it!!
Bottom line: Shutter - Not even a shudder !!

Music seasons

There's something we all like , and that something's appeal may or may not be lasting....Well I'm not gonna talk about some random something.. My somethings' appeals usually last long...cos in the first place if I like something , I become a diehard fan of that something !

LL I can talk in circles....!!

Well any ways what I was gonna say was this:

I have been listening to music ever since I turned a teen... And my very first love was punk.... I loved everything about punk rock...the attitude..the looks.. the feel...the music..juz about everything on the list !! That was the time I loved Avril Lavigne's music!! There was greenday and there was good charlotte and that was Season 1 ! People around me (family ofcourse :D) told me its a bad idea to listen to demoralizing profane music.It all depends on the way you see it.. I saw it as pure music :The punk - the profanity !!! :D

Then I started listening to rap.It didn't replace my 1st love i'd say! Akon lallygagged during that season.. :D There was Timbaland,Timberlake and there was usher and that was Season 2 !

The succeeding season saw me obsessed with Blues,classics,R&B,pop,hiphop ... the rediscovery of abba ( my childhood fav band) .. then Enrique Iglesias (swooooooon) Gosh... his music is indescribable.....just the tone of his voice fixates the listeners.!!there was Rihanna ,nelly furtado and there was hilary duff,Lindsay Lohan ..So that was Season 3 !

So much for classifications.. there could have been more seasons intermediately....My memory s the size of a peanut!!!! :P So this is the season I'm in now...

Probably Season 4 :

I love listening to OSTs.... The wake of this season was because of the Braveheart movie theme (Celtic Bagpipes) that sopped me up :D !!! So these days I'm collecting movie themes and the like.... Yea and one more thing.. This season also features Gracy listening to Mozart and Beethoven ! So thats basically all of relaxers without the lyrics .The music is simpleeee awesome... You can literally loose yourself in music of this kind!No doubt about that !!!!

Any must-hear music tracks or the like.. Do post it here ! Looking forward to listening to it !!

Ring 1 & 2

Ring is gonna be my first horror movie review.Not that I call it horror,millions of other people call it so ! However.... the movie's fantastic and the normal harpers of horror may think its slow,but I loved the slowness and mystery of it..

This is about a video tape that has some weird images on it... And after you see it, the telephone rings. A voice on the other end whispers "You saw it." Then you die in seven days.Rachel's investigation tries to find logical, rational explanations for the tape, the myth, and her own increasingly bizarre experiences. But every time she tries for the rational, she gets the irrational and terrifying.Creepy ..illogical .. just the way some horror flicks are...but in the end its plays on most people's worst fears providing your worst fears don't involve aliens or men with knives for hands, all of them should grip you for for long after you've finished watching.
For a fact, the ending was not to my liking; and though the intent was to leave the door open for the continuation of the series, it could have been handled better.

Ring2 sees the resurrection of Samara (the girl behind all the horror) .Rachel must investigate the little girl's past if she wants to save her son.There's a softness behind all horror flicks..i feel,and the one behind this one is what happens if you don't give a child enough attention.

Overall its a good watch and i give it 3 stars
Maybe watching the movie in a slumber party with a gang of people could be the primary reason for me not getting scared at all...but believe me it could scare the daylights outta you,if you watch it alone in the freaky hours of night with your speakers at 100%.

My oh My ..!! Race is one really good movie!!!

At the onset,we get the thought - this is going to be some movie associated with horse races and gambling(well i did..confused)only later you realise its not the race of the animal.. its that of the beasts...Well..(forgive me) but what do you call two cold-blooded siblings who are against each other,planning highly staked games involving Life!!! As the storyline progresses , you really get confused about who the good guy is , bad guy is.. is there any good guy at all..!@!*)!

Well... anyway .."Expect the unexpected" is the tag that I feel suits this!!

A gripping and fast moving thriller....well not a thriller..A Suspense movie keeping the audience stuck till the end !

Lemme keep this one really short.. Mama Mia starring Meryl Streep wasn't exactly as great as i had thought it'd turn out....(Maybe this is because I'm watching too many movies these hols..sorry"study" hols) Similar to the movie in my previous post (wherein a guy has 3 gals as the love of his life),this one is kinda the same only with genders switched... WHOAAAAaa Whoa WHoaaa!.. it only strikes me now... Both these movies are EXACTLY the same !Yea.. Hell!! This one is about a girl trying to find who her dad is,at least before she gets married.... She reads her mom's diary and lists the plausible candidates and send them invites hoping she'd find which one of them is her dada!

If you are a ABBA fan,you'll enjoy the movie for sure..as its tightly packed with most of ABBA's superhit tracks..! Sounds like the 'boring tamil film' type huh ?? trust me..Its quite tolerable. :) What happens on the day of her wedding is quite surprising... Guess who got married???? yea.. you guessed right! Mom it was.. and little baby girl goes globe-trotting with her boyfriend ,calling off the wedding for no reason!!!!

Definitely,Maybe Is definitely not just another love story ... it s a really complicated journey of a guy'slove life! Its got an interesting premise too... (Bed time story !! Yea the guy tells the story to his daughter) One thing I can say about this is : "Boy's will be boys" (the phoebe quote ) I have always admired Hollywood's inate ability to make lotsa movies(especially of the romantic genre) that are all the same.. except the cast,climax,endings.. But this "definitely" has follows a different formula..This is maybe why I keep coming back to Hollywood romantic comedies ! This is one-of-a kind romantic comedy that keeps you hooked on...just for the sake of discovering ..wat the shit is gonna happen @ the end!! is it a happy ending or one sober story???
Anyways, Watch it to figure that out..
The flick gives agood idea of a normal American's love life!(I guess.. )

Definitely,Maybe a good watch !

Freedom Writers is a 2007 American film starring Hilary Swank, Scott Glenn and many others.. It is based on the book The Freedom Writers Diary by teacher Erin Gruwell who wrote the story based on Woodrow Wilson Classical High School in Long Beach, California.
The film follows the true life story of Erin Gruwell, a English teacher at Long Beach who, when faced with the onerous task of managing a class waiting to be ripped apart by inter-racial hatred, is “foolish” enough to believe she can bond them, forge them as one and make them seek their true potential.For me, the movie is great because of the dialogues, closing remarks to conversations and the telling spaces. To prove my point, I would like you to watch for the kid who reads out from his diary at the “Toast for Change” occasion(near the end of the movie). His words moved me. They sure do. Unless you’ve lived with your eyes closed, there is a fair chance you’ve seen kids like that too.
I learnt a lot from this movie:
things like... How rude discrimination is...
The american gangstas..
And..That there is more to Life than worrying about oneself.
Overall, Its a movie with a purpose !!!! (well fulfilled too.. )

This flick will forever be embedded in my grey cells !! REASON: ...Hmm.. There are more than one reasons..!Not many movies can accomplish in 2 hours what it did:

#6 Make you wanna watch anything with Gerard Butler on it

Five minutes into the movie I was hooked. I loved it !!!

At the start of the movie, Holly (Hilary Swank) and Gerry Kennedy (Gerard Butler) are married and they are having a marital spat, which, trust me, is hilarious.In the next scene, we find that he has died. Holly is so struck with sorrow,that she is unable to function but soon letters start arriving--from Gerry. ????!!!???

The chemistry between Holly and Gerry is electric. Swank gracefully showcases Holly's transition from the whiny but loving working wife to the lonely widow.That woman really can act..!!! I guarantee you that you will tear up during several scenes,if not Moved to the core (awww !)
Butler is terrific as the charming, lively and funny Gerry but his grasp of the Irish accent is disastrous,but will make you fall in love with him!! Lisa Kudrow (Phoebe of F.R.I.E.N.D.S) provides comic relief.This has got an interesting ensemble cast!!
Many consider this a girl's movie...() No way.. If love was something that only gals fell into..!
The movie shows the English country side and Ireland in its stately splendour and in all its glory!!!... Considering that I, already am a gr8tttt fan of the English country side...that is one good excuse I came back again n again to watch it.. Simply Splendidddddd!!!
I really liked this part of the movie: where Holly stands @ the exact place where Gerry stood thinking about her(as he mentions in the letter) after he first met her...Those were the frames I loved the mostt....!

Apart from that, I loved EVERY ONE of his letters,especially the ending 1:
Dear Holly, I don't have much time. I don't mean literally, I mean you're out buying ice cream and you'll be home soon. But I have a feeling this is the last letter, because there is only one thing left to tell you. It isn't to go down memory lane or make you buy a lamp, you can take care of yourself without any help from me. It's to tell you how much you move me, how you changed me. You made me a man, by loving me Holly. And for that, I am eternally grateful... literally. If you can promise me anything, promise me that whenever you're sad, or unsure, or you lose complete faith, that you'll try to see yourself through my eyes. Thank you for the honor of being my wife. I'm a man with no regrets. How lucky am I. You made my life, Holly. But I'm just one chapter in yours. There'll be more. I promise. So here it comes, the big one. Don't be afraid to fall in love again. Watch out for that signal, when life as you know it ends. P.S. I will always love you
and also the one addressed to Big Mama where he says: "You're going to heaven for being my babe's best friend" The expression is too good !!

I am having a dozen things to blog about .... But unfortunately no time and more importantly, my broadband bandwidth usage has exceeded(by nearly 2 gb !!! ) Its nearly winter(the "indian" style) here.. and its raining almost endlessly for the past few days..I soo love the rains..... Speaking of which, I come to the topic... Hilary Duff.. More specifically her song -"Come Clean" thats shot in the rain...
Hilary is the teen world's tv sensation(sadly isn't a teen anymore), turned movie star, turned pop rocker) - Gosh ! That gal sure has numerous assets !!
Till date I haven't missed a single movie of Hilary Duff's.. That doesn't make her a swell actress or anything..(not that she isn't ..LOL ..Am I contradicting myself?? ) But she is a reallllllllyyy good singer with amazing vocal cords that make Superb Music!!! Yes I do like most of her tracks.. And recently I loved her song -"Come Clean".. There are some songs that you don't like at first ,but you come back to it when time makes u 2 and u think that its awesome.. This is one such song 4 me !

Tropic Thunder

Tropic Thunder is one movie I was looking forward to watching so much..particularly because a friend of mine kept telling its a hilarious one and also because of its box office records!! Hilarious -okay..Maybe a little bit!... But I just can't make it why most people think its a good one!! Honestly I kept looking at the timer- how long shud I endure this endless torture of lame jokes!! But I must admit that the second half of the movie was okay.And yea..one more thing... I recognised Tom Cruise in the movie only near the end of the flick! Well the plot in a sentence is this :
"Through a series of freak occurrences, a group of actors shooting a big-budget war movie are forced to become the soldiers they are portraying."
Things I learnt from the movie:
Never expect much from a Ben Stiller production,especially if the trailer draws you !
Things NOT to be learnt from the movie:
Different possible ways of using the F-word.Probably this movie holds the record for using the F-word in ways that are unimaginable!

It is one very monochromatic picture out there..! But still makes a good watch !

Now...what would anybody think on seeing 'From My Lounger' - probably that - this gal's such a movie freak..insane romantic comedy lover?? dumb movieholic(forgive me if there isn't any such word )..! There are definitely more things, I do from my lounger than see movies all day long (even though thats what I've done recently :P ) like read books, magazines,newspapers.... I like literature too..infact it has been my First Love :) So....Tadaa.... Here comes my first book review..
There are so many good books that I could write about,but the reason I chose to write about 'Les Miserables' is that it was the first real novel that I read..(if i remember right) Way back in class 6 , we had an excerpt from this book as Lesson 1 in English.. Since the story was abruptly finished, I had a strong urge to read the full story....
The protagonist, Jean Valjean, is sentenced to prison for 19 years for stealing a loaf of bread. After his release, Valjean plans to rob Monseigneur Myriel, a saintlike bishop, but cancels his plan. However, he forfeits his parole by committing a minor crime, and for this crime Valjean is haunted by the police inspector Javert. Valjean eventually reforms and becomes under the name of M. Madeleine a successful businessman, benefactor, and mayor of a northern town. To save an innocent man, Valjean gives himself up and is imprisoned in Toulon. He escapes and adopts Cosette, an illegitimate child of a poor woman, Fantine. Cosette grows up and falls in love with Marius, who is wounded during a revolutionary fight. Valjean rescues Marius by means of a flight through the sewers of Paris. Cosette and Marius marry and Valjean reveals his past.

It is indeed a gripping story ,having a multitude of subplots which were,needless to say, comprehendible to my class 6 brain.
The story has been filmed several times and made into a musical too. From what other people say,the musical seems like something that shouldn't be missed!
For the first time ever , Book,music,and movie review all in one post !!So whatcha waiting for grab a copy if it isn;t read yet!

Music and Lyrics -one very good movie that I saw today,even though I was supposed to studying for improvement exams..Boy! I'm such a procrastinator.

Its about how a forgotten music legend kicks back into action .The film starts off with the Pop group singing its hit record..At the onset everything looks kinda funny- the way hugh is portrayed as some 'elvis presely' weirdo !! Lol ..Was that funny!!!Drew Barrymore(Sophie Fisher) andAlex Fletcher( Hugh Grant ) (swoooooonnn !) may seem like a strange pair..Not that her hair looks totally lovely and Hugh grant looks totally *** No words out here!! :)
Seriously I didn't think Drew can sing : well She sings okay and hugh (swoooooon) too ! :D
This is one movie which kept me hanging till the credits rolled over..mainly because the song -pop goes my heart was played !!
All the tracks in the movie are good..The movie script is great ,I liked it

One really impressive dialogue in the movie:
Alex Fletcher: It doesn't have to be perfect. Just spit it out. They're just lyrics.
Sophie Fisher: "Just lyrics"?
Alex Fletcher: Lyrics are important. They're just not as important as melody.
Sophie Fisher: I really don't think you get it.
Alex Fletcher: Oh. You look angry. Click your pen.
Sophie Fisher: A melody is like seeing someone for the first time. The physical attraction.
Alex Fletcher: I so get that.
Sophie Fisher: But then, as you get to know the person, that's the lyrics. Their story. Who they are underneath. It's the combination of the two that makes it magical.

To be very honest,the movie isn't all that great...But the end part where he sings to her (putting the whole realtionship in a song) O-M-G !! that is sensational!! I can watch that part over and over again!! :)
Thing I learnt from the movie:
Its hardwork being a successful lyricist

Hugh grant makes my heart skip a beat :P

Never Been Kissed

I've been meaning to watch the movie Never Been Kissed for a long while, especially since a friend of mine kept telling me its a really good movie... So the time had come.. This was yesterday's Late night flick that I watched.
I won't embrace this as a romantic comedy as I found very little funny frames in the movie..
The plot is very simple.. just a normal high school drama sorta thing.
Josie Geller (Drew Barrymore) is a copy editor in Chicago Sun time.. she is assigned to work undercover in a highschool as part of her project ..unfortunately she has a bad history of being a geek @ highschool (Geekism cannot be camouflaged :P - personal opinion )and thus how she makes it @ school is the major part of the story..She discovers herself again..
The central romance between Josie and Sam (Euro-heartthrob Michael Vartan), her literature teacher, may strike an uneasy chord with older audiences...

The ending sequels in the movie keeps you eagerly waiting for whats gonna happen..Will she be kissed ??? Will she be not??? Easy question huh?!! Josie does experience her first kiss, and first true taste of love after rexploring life as a teenager and her life growing up. Even with success and money, the simple desires in life do not fade. The shots @ the stadium r the ones I liked !
Things I learnt (rather discovered) from the movie :
Michael Vartan, sure is cute :P

Overall , its a good watch when you're looking for some drama that moves fast..

ABBA & ABBA teens

The ABBA is one good band that I used to listen when I was really young.It was Nickelodeon (the popular kids television) that introduced me to this cool band thru' the track - Mama Mia ! I remember me recording the song - tv->stereo .. just imagine how crazy I must have been about this particular song. :D
Other songs of this troop's that I listen to are :
Nina pretty ballerina
Hasta manana
Dancing Queen and chiquitita !
Then came the A Teens (ABBA teens) - the next generation of Swedish Pop group that rocked the world (formed as a tribute to the ABBA ) Their track Mama Mia ( was the one that I actually watched , as I learnt later :O ) topped the charts and stayed #1 for 8 consecutive weeks !

If you enjoy their music, U sure'll enjoy a 2008 movie based on this popular 70s group's music - Mama Mia (starring Meryl Streep - Whoa !!) :)

Being the first "real" band music I listened to.. they have a special place in my heart ,Always!

Kung fu Panda

Hiya...
I'm back again .. Movie again it is - Just watched Kung fu Panda - animation movie by DreamWorks. This is about a lazy panda,Po, having a crazy dream of being a ninja fighter..
The story is set in an ancient Chinese city (it looks awesome) Po unexpectedly becomes the chosen Dragon Warrior.... aftermath - he has to fight against the legendary villain ( who actually has a bond with shifu - Po's kungfu master ).Overall the movie is great and has many funny parts, which I think you enjoy very much if you watch it with your kiddo flock or like-minded(animation loving) friends!I felt Angelina Jolie and Jackie Chan were just to generate hype. They were totally wasted... I was searching whose voice jackie chan dubbed throughout the movie !!! :( (it was the monkey's)
Anyways , It makes a good watch when you are in a good mood! :)
and ..yea.. Things I learnt from the movie- right pronunciation of kung fu, some kung fu moves (like the saluting of the master and few others :D )
