I decided to stop and jot down 10 things that I noticed today that made me smile

1. messy eating
2. nursing and cuddles
3. the reaction she makes when she spots a ceiling fan
4. smiles
5. little feet making music (I wonder if watching a baby use their feet to play a toy piano inspired this band?)
6. giggles
7. raspberries (not the kind you eat)
8. dancing to the beatles together
9. waking up to babbling (best way to start the day!!!)
10. little waving hands
It was an absolutely gorgeous day here in Boston but with the blizzard that we had last week I was not sure how far we would be able to go before getting stuck. I am very happy to say that our B.O.B. plowed right through the snow we ran into!

It gives me a little hope of getting fresh air this winter. I had gotten into the habit of walking about five miles every morning with my daughter over the summer and it was something that I looked forward to each day. Once it got cold out I stopped and I have really missed that time with nature.
For Christmas I received the weather shield for the stroller. Its like a little tent for the stroller to help keep my daughter warm. Now we will be able to start back up with our walks even if its cold or there is snow on the ground.

If you are in the market for a stroller I highly recommend the B.O.B. It is great for jogging, hiking on trails, the beach and even the snow!
Read more here State bans bottles and cups with BPA
I am definitely happy to hear about this and agree that the ban should go even further to remove this chemical from children toys. After reading that BPA can leach through breast milk I found this article listing companies that do not use BPA in their canned goods. 7 Companies You Can Trust to Use BPA-free Cans

This is the sippy cup we use and it is great, it is a little heavy when filled with water so we only fill it half way at this point.
This thing is awesome. I own a boppy and a breast friend and I have used both extensively. By a landslide the breast friend is easier to use and more comfortable. A strap wraps around you and there is a padded piece in the back to lean on. The front has two raised portions which help to elevate your baby's head so it is correctly positioned for feeding.
While it may look like your car seat is installed correctly, there are many small details that can affect its safety. I just installed Lily's convertible seat and went to our local police station to have it inspected. It was in nice and secure, but the officer pointed out a few other safety precautions. He said the retractable sun shades on the windows are not safe. They are dangerous because they could fly off in an accident and hit the baby in the head. He recommended the non-retractable ones that only use suction cups. He also said that mirrors that are installed so you can see the baby are not good. If there was an accident the baby could hit their head on it. So down come the sun shades and good bye mirror. It makes me wonder why these items are even sold.

Some other safety tips you may not know
• Use blankets to keep your child warm rather than a bulky jacket
• Be sure to put the handle down on any bucket car seat
• Tighten straps tight enough that only one finger can fit underneath it
• Putting the seat in the middle and rear facing is the safest

To find a local car seat inspection center in your area visit SeatCheck
There are so many challenges we face as parents and in the moment they seem to last an eternity. Some hurdles that come to mind are cluster feeding, teething and most recently separation anxiety.
Looking back I remember sitting on my couch thinking I would never be able to leave my house while Lily cluster fed. It lasted a little less than two weeks, but it definitely put me into a state of despair. Once it was over I felt so silly because it really didn't last that long at all. I told myself that the next time a hurdle came along I would remind myself that what they say is true.
While taking care of a little one it can be tough to get in a filling and healthy meal. Here is a recipe that I make almost every morning that is simple and full of the protein you need to get you through the day.

1.5 Cups Berries (I like strawberries)
.5 Cup Fat Free Plain Greek Yogurt
.5 Cup Cereal (I like Kashi GoLean Crunch)

I use frozen berries so they are all ready to go, all you need to do is heat them in the microwave for about 2 minutes and add in the cereal and greek yogurt. This is also a great snack for around 2:00 when your blood sugar levels start to decline.
