Shopkick - An app that lets you earn money while shopping, without buying anything!

Shopkick is one of my favorite apps, and I've been using it for many years, so it's tried and true. I've earned 11 gift cards so far!

The app is available to download for free, and there is no fee to use it.

You earn "kicks" for doing tasks like walking into a store, scanning a product barcode, or making purchases.

You use your kicks to buy gift cards! There are tons of gift card options including Walmart, Amazon, Target, Starbucks, Kohl's, etc.

First things first, you need to download the app. You can use my link or enter code CARD435672 to earn a bonus 250 kicks if you complete a walk-in or scan in your first 7 days!

You can also invite your friends to use shopkick, and earn bonus points when they use your referral! There are multiple sharing options available.

Now you can start earning! There are plenty of participating stores that you can earn kicks at, ranging from grocery stores to pharmacies to clothing retailers. Some examples are Rite Aid, Hannaford, Walmart, Best Buy, Marshall's, Yankee Candle, and Kohl's.

Depending on the store, there are options to earn kicks simply by walking in (you have to have your Bluetooth enabled so the sensor can tell you've walked in,) scanning certain item barcodes listed in the app, and by purchasing specific items and uploading a photo of your receipt, or linking your credit card to your account. You can also earn kicks by shopping online! Typically this is a certain number of kicks per every $1 spent scenario.

One other way to earn some extra kicks is to watch their informational videos, available in the Discover section of the app.

Now that you've earned your kicks, you get to redeem them for a gift card! There are plenty or stores to choose from, including Amazon, Target, Ulta, Kohl's and Starbucks. And you can choose from different amounts, starting at $2 and going up to $50!

You can choose a goal and that way it's easy to track your progress, but you can change it at any time!

Latest Free Samples! — November Update

The mailbox has been a lot more active lately! I've slacked on looking for freebies for a while, but I’m back at it and pretty happy and excited.

The first one on the list is a Dunkin’ Donuts Cold Brew sample and $3 coupon. I’m not a coffee drinker, but my boyfriend is, and he absolutely loved this! He went out and bought more the next day, he's officially obsessed.

Next was a box of o.b. Tampons. I was so surprised I actually got a full 18 count box for free!

I got another PINCHme box! I had such awful luck with that site for a while, but now I’ve gotten 2 boxes of free samples in a row! I was able to make some choices with this box in regards to flavors of samples which was cool.

I was finally able to order a box of samples again from PINCHme, after well over a year of some technical issue that wouldn't allow me to verify and therefore log in to my account.

To say I was pretty excited when I finally received a box of samples again is an understatement.

Foot Petals: Give 'em the Boot

I put these awesome insoles in my go-to tall black boots that I wear most often to work when it's cold out. They make my boots much more comfortable and cozy! I work in a before and after school program at an elementary school, and I have to put the kids on the bus in the early morning every day. It gets SO COLD! And I have poor circulation which makes it that much harder on my body. These Give 'em the Boot insoles really help keep me warmer.

Yogi Tea

Yogi tea offers so many different blends of tea that aid in many different areas health and wellness. They taste great, they are healthy and natural, and they all come with a great message! Reading the tag on each tea bag is one of my favorite parts of enjoying a hot cup of yogi tea.

SinfulColors SinfulShine Nail Polish

I'm a big fan of SinfulColors nail polish. This 2 step manicure is just another awesome product they offer! The color polish contains gel tech and then you use the top coat and you're done! The removal process is easy too, you won't be using a whole bag of cotton balls like with some nail polish brands. Also, check out that color! It's an awesome metallic purple called Mystique.

Not Your Mother's Whip it Up Cream Styling Mousse

This mousse is great! It's vanilla cupcake scented, and it's super moisturizing which helps to control frizz and thicken your hair. The texture is different but fantastic and I really love it. I'm definitely adding this to my arsenal of hair products! Not Your Mother's wins again.

Botanics Organics Hydrating Day Cream

Well I'm a fan. I have super dry skin in the winter and using this cream really helped. It's 81% organic; made with nourishing rosehip, jojoba oil and cocoa butter, it softens and moisturizes for 24 hours. I love that it is made with active plant extracts.

SoapBox Shampoo and Conditioner

Soapbox makes fantastic shampoo and conditioner, and they also make a difference. For every product they sell, they give either one bar of soap or one month of clean water to a person in need. You can find their items at Target. When you make your purchase, enter your Hope Code from the bottle on their website to see where your product purchase made a change in the world. How great is that?! Their shampoo and conditioner are also great in their own rite. They are free of sulfates, parabens, EDTA and artifical colorants. Love them!

Jewelry Swap, Hiking and Concerts

I was so lucky to be contacted by an awesome girl on Instagram about doing a handmade jewelry swap with her. I gladly accepted! She asked for 2 of my November birthstone wrap bracelets, and I got this amazing mandala beaded wrap bracelet in return.

I've finally been able to visit Bear Hill in Cragsmoor, NY again, one of my absolute favorite places in the world. Just look at that view!!

I went to a few concerts at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts in Bethel, NY with my mom. We saw Lynard Skynard and The Marshall Tucker Band, Chicago and The Doobie Brothers, Earth Wind & Fire, Jackson Browne. Such great shows!

I love to do my nails by myself, and I'm always looking for something fun and new to try out. I was super excited to find Sinful Colors nail polish in this voxbox! The color is brighter than what I typically use, but I ended up really loving it! I added black and silver camo print over the Southern Belle, and I'm pretty happy with the result.

Dickinson's Daily Refreshingly Clean Cleansing Cloths

These came at the perfect time. I'm super lazy at night and anything that make my night time routine faster is my best friend. I've been using Dickinson's Witch Hazel for a while now, and these wipes are great! I use them to clean my face at night in bed. Yep, perfect lazy person product.

Vaseline Spray Moisturizer

My brother went to the beach the day that this box arrived at my door. When he came home, he looked quite a bit like a tomato. A very angry, pained tomato. I handed him this spray, and after trying it, then reading the directions and doing it again the right way, he decided he was a fan. He said his skin felt cooler and less painful. Yay Vaseline Intensive Care Aloe Soothe!

Infusium 23 Moisture Replenisher Leave-In Smoothing Creme with Avocado & Olive Oil

I have a LOT of hair. It's also thick and has a mind of it's own. It goes between curly and wavy depending on its mood. And it's always big, always. I use smoothing products religiously. I typically have a bottle of one in my purse. Seeing this product in the voxbox was pretty exciting. I've used Infusium23 products before and I liked them, so I had high hopes for this smoothing creme. I tried it, I loved it! It has a good texture and pleasant scent. I like the bottle design and size, and it's easy to apply.

Klout Perk Review: Pasta Chips

Klout recently sent me an awesome Perk! I was super excited to receive a package with a bag of Garlic Olive Oil Pasta Chips.

I rarely eat large meals, I'm much more apt to snack all day long. Pasta happens to be one of my favorite foods, and I'm a big fan of chips. These Pasta Chips are kind of the perfect snack option for me. Especially since I'm trying to cut down on unhealthy snacking and I think these are a smarter choice.

I ordered 2 sets of Blackout curtains ~a pink and a pink polka dot:) They are great quality!! They DO NOT feel thin! The first ones I put up were the pink polka dots curtains! Simplifying and Selling!

In an effort to simplify my life, I've been doing a lot of organizing and purging. I've gone through everything quickly once and gathered all of the things I haven't used, worn or thought about in a while. I threw out the junk, donated what I could, brought some items to a consignment shop, and have recently started listing items on eBay.

The latest area to get downsized is my craft supplies. I inherited a ton of things, like beads and ribbon, from various people who know I enjoy creating things. I've always been one to just keep stockpiling the goodies, but I'm tired of having so much stuff. So, I went through my crafting items and weeded out the things I really won't use or don't have an interest in. It feels good!

Mixed Bead Lot

Now, I just need to get it all out of my house. I'm finally listing it online, and will hopefully be shipping a lot of the items to people who can actually use them, and soon. (If you're interested in checking out any of my eBay listings, check out my seller page.)

I can't wait to have less stuff, and more room. Hopefully it means less stress, and more cash! I can certainly use more cash, to create less stress too. (Paying off bills and all, you know how it is.)

New Sources of Income

I've had a lot happen recently that is costing me a large amount of money out of pocket that I certainly wasn't expecting. It has also made it difficult to continue working at my job. While I'm still working currently, I'm trying to decide if I'll be keeping the job in the near future. That being said, I'm trying to earn as much money as I can between shifts, and I'm trying to find what other methods of making money may keep me afloat if I do decide to leave my job.

Currently I have a decent amount of inventory left over from the business I closed a few months back. I can make some money by bringing the items to local consignment shops, but my current car situation (or lack thereof) is making that somewhat difficult. I've been going through the inventory and pulling items that I think may do well on eBay, so hopefully that will net me some cash.

I've also been making jewelry and other small items with beads that I think I can sell on etsy. I'm working on perfecting the items and building a small inventory before I list them online.

Finally, what you're probably most interested in, is the websites I've been using to earn money. Swagbucks is still my #1 favorite earning site, with Bing being in a close second. While I cash out for Amazon gift cards on both sites, it's still very helpful because I can buy necessities as well as jewelry making supplies with the money I earn instead of buying out of pocket. Also, it's delivered to my door. Bonus!

Swagbucks - My Favorite Online Earning Site!!

My most recent earning venture has been with Amazon mTurk. I had signed up for this website a few years ago but never got past signing up, I've been using it again for a week now, and I've earned a little over $8. No, this is certainly not a lot of money, but I've also only been going on for a few hours at a time and am still learning a lot. I think if I do some more research on how others have been successful, I can earn a respectable amount of money with it.

So, has anyone else worked with mTurk that can share some insight?
Have you had luck with any other websites?

How do I get a free Amazon Gift Card?

Excellent question!

A lot of people wonder "How do I get an Amazon gift card" when they start earning money online. I did for a long time. Now, I use certain websites daily to earn points that I can redeem for the gift cards I want. I've included screenshots of my earnings so you can see that I'm really earning these gift cards. If you look closely, you'll be able to tell that I take some breaks from earning online, which is great! I love that I can come back to it whenever I want to, and my earnings are based on the amount of time and effort I invest.

My favorite site is InstaGC. I mainly do the clicks and videos, but I just started completing offers and surveys as well. They are certainly worth it!

Bing Rewards is another awesome way to earn Amazon Gift Cards! Formerly known as Club Bing, you use the site as a search engine, and then cash in the points you earn every day for gift cards. They are emailed to you extremely fast too!

Swagbucks is the website I've been with the longest, and it's probably my favorite overall. I love the different ways I can earn, and there are a ton of prizes to choose from. I always stick with Amazon gift cards, they're my fave by far, as you can see below. :D

Jergens Ultra Healing Lotion

I've always loved the Jergens brand, and this is just one more product I can say they did a great job with! I suffer from very dry and sensitive skin, especially in the winter here in New York where the temps like to dip way below freezing.

When I opened my VoxBox I immediately threw this Jergens moisturizer in my purse so I could use it all day long. I absolutely love it, and so do my hands!

Swiss Miss Simply Cocoa

Who doesn't love hot cocoa? And who doesn't love Swiss Miss?! Man I thought hot chocolate couldn't get any better, and then Swiss Miss went and proved me wrong. This stuff is amazing. It's so creamy and wonderful and just perfection.

Squidoo has announced some seriously huge news, they are closing and everything is being merged into HubPages. I just made the transition this week, and am trying to learn more about how things work over there. One thing I love, being able to see my daily earnings!

Since I've last written, a lot has happened. I moved back into my parents house, closed my business, and am working twice as many hours at my other job. A lot has changed in my life, and is still changing. Hopefully once I'm used to this new schedule, I'll be back to writing more frequently.

So, how's the weather? I know, lame. Seriously though, we had what I'd consider a monsoon here in NY yesterday, and now it's insanely windy. At least there's some sun and it's not subzero right now. The weather is just so strange lately.

Anyway, I plan to spend my day off being lazy, and staying indoors. Needless to say, today will be spent in PJ's, drinking tea, and earning some money online. I'm sure I'll be listening to music and being used as a pillow by my dogs too...gotta love puppy love.

Lately I've been on a earn as much money as possible kick. My bank account is quite sad right now, and I'm trying to fix that. So I've been spending a lot of time on my "regular" sites, and also started revisiting some that I'd sort of forgotten about. (Some of the links to the sites are going to be my referral links, just so you know.)

My favorites are currently Swagbucks and InstaGC. I pretty much just do the "click the link" offers and watch the videos. I have about $30 in amazon gift cards saved up, and I really want to reach $35 by the end of the day. I have a long wish list on amazon and really want to place an order soon! (Speaking of, what the heck is the deal with them raising the free shipping amount to $35? I feel like $25 was so much easier to reach.) Either way, I'm almost at that goal.

And although I do have a serious love for amazon, I could really use some actual cash in my account. That's why I decided to revisit WordLinx, Squidoo and Jingit.

When I signed into WordLinx I was pretty happy to see that I had almost $5 in my account, and only need to earn $5 more to cash out via PayPal. It's a basic paid to click site, very simple.

Squidoo is one of those sites that I still earn from regularly, just not much. They pay on a 3 month delay, so when I get paid tomorrow, it will be for whatever I earned in October. I really like this method because it makes me focus on the long term and keep at it.

Finally, Jingit is fantastic. The only reason I stopped earning was because I misplaced my Jingit card (they send you a debit card that all of your earnings are added to) and had no way to use what I made. Well I found the card and started watching videos to earn some money again. I actually just used the card to buy some stuff at the hardware store. Yay for no cash outta my pocket!

I almost forgot about MyPoints. I finally started reading the emails again and am racking up points at a pretty decent pace again. I feel a gift card in my near future. :)

So, those are my main focuses right now. I'm gonna go attempt to finish my tea before it's ice cold. Stay warm everyone!

The latest box I was lucky enough to try out was the Violet VoxBox. As usual, everyone's boxes contained a couple of the items, and then the rest were sent to the Influensters that they were the best fit for.

My Violet VoxBox contained:

I especially loved the Goody products!

Goody is a brand I have always loved, and these new products just re-affirmed my long-time love. The hairband is fantastic. I got it in grey, and I love that color. It's also really cute, which is pretty hard to find when it comes to athletic hairbands. The velcro is also a big plus in my book; being able to adjust the size is awesome.

The QuickStyle brush is so neat! I love how it has the ability to help dry my hair faster. This is a HUGE plus for me! I have very long hair, and there is a lot of it. Anything that helps me dry it faster is fantastic in my book.

Remember my first VoxBox? I was able to try the Goody SpinPins back then, and I loved them too! Yay Goody!

Triple Shine Gets My Approval

I wrote another post specifically reviewing the Sally Hansen Triple Shine nail polish. Overall, I like the polish. I would choose a different color, and think it will look better over another base color. I love the brush design, it really helps you get a more even application.

SOYJOY, I'm not so Joyful

I can't lie, I didn't enjoy the SOYJOY snack bar. Part of it was the flavor, I am just not a fan of cranberry. But I alsy didn't like the texture of the bar. I tried! I just didn't like it.

My Previous Influenster Experiences

I have been able to try out two other VoxBoxes in the past, the MaryKay VoxBox and the Beauty VoxBox, as well as a special Palmolive Fresh Infusions box.

Final Thoughts

I am a huge Influenster fan. They never go wrong with the boxes they choose to send me, or their specific contents! I'm excited to keep using the Goody products, and can't wait to see the next VoxBox I get to try. Stay tuned!

Sally Hansen Triple Shine Review

Today I tried out a new nail polish called Triple Shine by Sally Hansen, thanks to Influenster who sent it to me in the Violet VoxBox to review.

Here are 2 photos of the polish I received to try out. The photo on the left is the bottle right out of the box. The one on the right is showing you how the polish looks without the cap that is on over the brush handle. I took the cap off while using the polish because it was more comfortable to use that way.

The color I received to try was #390, a glitter filled blue shade called Sparks Fly.

One of the first things I noticed about this nail polish was the brush design. I like how it is a more flat brush, which provides better coverage in less applications.

Below are 3 photos side by side showing how my nails looked after one, two and three coats of polish.

I think the polish is pretty transparent, and in the future I would probably use it over another polish to get a more opaque look.

While I don't think I'll be getting any mail with all of this snow today, I do want to share what I got this past week with you all!

I got a DVD and three...towels? They are prizes I ordered from SheKnows. (I plan to sew the "towels" in to pillow cases.) They are switching to a new rewards program and any points you have now will be gone once the switch is made.

I received my first PinchMe box! SUPER excited about it. I actually wrote a whole post about joining this new site.

MyPoints sent me the Panera Gift Card I had ordered with my points, I can't wait to go have some Broccoli & Cheddar soup!

Now these items all came last week, but I was really sick with a nasty virus and stuck in bed.

First up is a great package from the Carmex Blog Squad containing their new, fun moisturizing lip sticks.

Then I got an issue of Cosmo magazine, from a free subscription that I ordered with points from a reward program. Sadly, I wasn't even able to read this while trapped in bed, my head hurt too much to focus.

Finally, the best and worst mail at the same time. It's awesome because I love Nutella and this is basically Jif's version...Amazing! But, I wasn't able to eat it! It was a week filled with saltines and ice chips. Ugh.

Semi-Productive Snow Day

I'm going to start off with some "things to know."

Okay, now that I've gone over the important stuff, here's some more that I want to share with you all!

I just ordered 2 insulated tote bags from StartSampling.com with my reward points. I'm super excited because I've been saving my points forever! And, I was just thinking that I really needed more grocery bags, but didn't want to pay for them.

Here's something super exciting...I finally found my Jingit card! It had been missing for months, but I finally found it in another purse. So since I have my card again, I'm back to using the app and earning every day. I love being able to use the card to get myself a little something every once in a while, and not having to spend any of my cash.

In other news, it's been snowing since the wee hours of the morning here in NY. Later on tonight it's supposed to pick up the pace to a nice 1 - 3 inches per hour. This was a perfect day to get some things done around the house. Like the holiday baking I've been putting off, or the cleaning...or catching up on NCIS. Turns out there was a marathon today, so that took priority of course! Plus I got to spend some quality time with my dogs. :)

PinchMe, I'm in LOVE...with this new sample program!

I just got my first PinchMe box!

Pinch Me is a new website that offers boxes of free samples, and a cool rewards program for sharing your thoughts. I got my box within 2 weeks of signing up and ordering it, and I just ordered my second box today.

I received Beanfillers Bean & Rice Chips, Suave Advanced Therapy Lotion (which I threw in my bag right away, love it!) and Olay Moisturizer that I can't even begin to explain how fantastic it is. It's a top seller on Amazon and I totally get why.

You have to be quick when they restock the samples. It's a brand new site and everyone is trying to get samples, and many are complaining already they they can't get samples. I totally understand that this is a brand new site, there are kinks to work out! I'm just grateful for a new sample program with promise. They have had some great brands available already, and I can't wait to see how this site does in the future!
