This device is the best way to keep your baby safe in the car. It is a legal requirement in many countries; including Canada and the United States. A carrier car seat is used for infants that weigh less than twenty pounds. Carriers work best when baby is small. Pregnant mothers who decide to breastfeed usually enjoy having the baby near-by. Baby will grow out of a bassinet quickly, so parents should have a crib on hand.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;Pregnant women who go crib shopping are often startled by the price tags. New cribs can cost anywhere from a few hundred dollars to a few thousand dollars. Even used cribs at baby resale shops are still expensive.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;When it comes to a crib, pregnant women should get the best crib that they can afford. They should not buy or borrow a used crib unless they are confident in it. A quality crib can be a good lifetime investment. Most cribs will convert to daybeds and twin beds as the child grows.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;When it comes to gearing up during pregnancy, expectant parents can spend a lot or a little money. Car seats and cribs are two areas that parents should focus their efforts on choosing. Try to schedule any layover or plane changes with at least a two hour delay. It is difficult to rush from terminal to terminal when you are carrying luggage and a pregnant belly. Breaks in the flight schedule will give you a chance to use the restroom, get something to eat and stretch your legs.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;Flight delays happen to everyone. They are a pain but you shouldn’t stress over them. There isn’t anything that you can do and the stress isn’t good for either you or baby. Try to schedule your trip plans with possible delays in mind.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;Try to get the aisle seat when booking your flight. This will give you a place to stretch out any leg cramps. It will also make it easier to the get to the restroom if nature or nausea calls. Bring along something to do just in case you can’t sleep on the flight. This will also help if your neighbor insists on telling you what you should and shouldn’t be doing during your pregnancy.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;Most flights are short enough that you can stay in your seat for the duration. During longer flights, try to get up and walk about the cabin. Your swollen ankles will thank you later. Don’t avoid the airplane bathroom if you really need to go. These bathrooms may be hard to maneuver in but your bladder should get relief when it needs it.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;Airlines have gotten cheap on the types of food they offer these days. They usually charge for any food items that you would actually want to eat. Be sure to bring your own supply of healthy snacks in your carry-on.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;Whether you are traveling for business or pleasure, you should plan time into your schedule for breaks and relaxation. It is difficult, but necessary for you and your baby. The whole body and its symptoms have to develop. As the baby drops lower into the pelvis region, kicking may increase. Many pregnant women will receive some very powerful rib cage jabs from their little bundle.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;Weeks 36 to 40 of the pregnancy is the last stretch before baby makes its break. There is a lot less room and baby movements start to settle down. Doctors have yet to determine what causes placenta previa to occur. Some researchers believe that multiple births, an abnormal uterus shape, previous abortions or caesarians can all influence the occurrence of placenta previa during pregnancy. &lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;There is not a lot that pregnant women can do stop this condition during pregnancy. Pregnant women should take their time. The best way to lie down is to sit on the edge of the bed and lie down on the side. Placenta previa can not be completely prevented during pregnancy. You will start to feel every kick, stretch and hiccup that baby does. &lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;Some doctors schedule an ultrasound in week 18 to verify the due date. The ultrasound technician will check to see if all systems are developing normally. This will be your first glance at baby so your partner should go with you if they can. This can be a very special moment for you both.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;h2&gt;19 Weeks Pregnant&lt;/h2&gt;  &lt;p&gt;Your baby is now about 7 ounces by week 19. It may not have gained much length; still somewhere between 5 and 6 inches long. The skin is pretty transparent and the blood vessels show through. Vernix is an additional protective layer that develops on your baby’s skin in week 19.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;The mid-pregnancy aches are probably making themselves known to you in week 19. Dizziness, heartburn and constipation may increase in frequency. You will notice that your ankles and feet will swell; especially if you have been on your feet all day. Some women will begin to experience lower abdomen aches in week 19.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;If you have been neglecting yourself, now is the time to change. The baby is growing fast and your body is struggling to keep up. Putting your feet up will do your ankles and organs both some good.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;h2&gt;20 Weeks Pregnant&lt;/h2&gt;  &lt;p&gt;You and your baby have reached the midpoint in the gestation period. Baby is somewhere between 5.6 and 6.4 inches long. Baby typically weighs around 9 ounces in week 20.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;By week 20, baby’s hearing is fully developed. It can hear everything that is going on both inside and out. Any loud sounds can startle the baby. Baby can also recognize your voice easily.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;As week 20 rolls around, you will feel the baby moving a lot. Some days, you will get that feeling that the baby has more arms and legs than it is supposed to have. By week 20, your waistline will be gone for the remainder of the pregnancy.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;Practicing good posture in week 20 will help relieve the backaches that come with pregnancy. Always use your legs when are lifting something. By week 20, you should really let someone take care of the really heavy lifting if you can.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;You may find that it is hard to get comfortable in bed at night. Your expanding belly makes it hard to sleep on your stomach or back. Lying on your left side is the most recommended position for women who have reached the week 20 mark. Tuck a pillow between your legs. By the end of weeks 31 to 34, baby will weigh around 5 pounds. Most of the internal systems are up and ready to go; the lungs are the last to mature and may not be fully functional yet. &lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;Baby will be kicking and stretching a lot during weeks 31 to 34. The brain development is on overtime. Baby will start to put on fat which will help to fill out the wrinkled skin.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;h2&gt;31 Weeks Pregnant&lt;/h2&gt;  &lt;p&gt;As week 31 rolls round, baby will be around 18 inches from head to toe. Baby will usually weigh about 3.5 pounds at this point. The nerve endings in the ears are finally connected. Baby can actually hear sounds instead of just feeling vibrations.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;You have probably put somewhere between 21 to 27 pounds on the scale by week 31. Your uterus takes up most of your abdomen. This leaves very little room for everything else. The excitement and anxiety is probably staring to build. Now is a great time to practice the breathing and relaxing techniques that will get you through delivery.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;&lt;b&gt;&lt;/b&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;h2&gt;32 Weeks Pregnant&lt;/h2&gt;  &lt;p&gt;Baby is now about 18.9 inches long and 4 pounds by week 32. There is still some room to turn around, but not much. Baby takes up most of the available space in the uterus. Baby is already practicing breathing.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;Now that you are in the home stretch, your doctor will probably start scheduling check-ups every two weeks. Week 32 continues to be filled backaches and leg cramps. Colostrum, the first milk, may start leaking from your breasts.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;Every woman carries the baby differently. Where the baby sits will depend on the size of the baby, your stature and how much weight you have gained. Keep drinking liquids and elevate your feet when ever possible. Support stockings may help with reducing leg cramps and swelling.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;h2&gt;33 Weeks Pregnant&lt;/h2&gt;  &lt;p&gt;By the time week 33 rolls around your baby will weigh about 4.4 pounds and be about 19.4 inches long. Week 33 starts a major growth spree in your baby. Typically, baby doubles its current weight over the next few weeks. There isn’t much room for acrobatics now. Baby will remain in a curled position most of the time.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;Meanwhile, your uterus is about 5.2 inches above your belly button by week 33. You have probably gained about 22 to 28 pounds. For each pound you gain, about half of it belongs to baby.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;It is safe to have intercourse during this time as long as your pregnancy is normal. It may be hard to find a position that is comfortable. Massages and cuddling are great ways to stay connected with your partner if your growing abdomen interferes.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;h2&gt;34 Weeks Pregnant&lt;/h2&gt;  &lt;p&gt;Week 34 marks the last week of the eighth month. Baby is now 19.8 inches long and about 5 pounds. Organs are almost fully developed; the lungs may still be immature. By week 34, baby has fingernails and possibly hair. There isn’t much room, so baby’s movements are a lot less than in prior months. Baby may start settling into the head-down position in anticipation of its debut.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;Braxton Hicks start coming more often by week 34. You may find your body aches all over. Your uterus is pushing against your rib cage. Your back aches from the extra load of your abdomen. Your pelvic bones may start expanding cause additional soreness in the hips and lower back. Even your belly button is making room for your growing baby.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;Week 34 is a good time to think about whether you want to breastfeed or not. Breastfeeding offers a lot of benefits including strengthening your child’s immune system. Breastfeeding can be difficult for first time moms. By the end of weeks 26 to 30, your baby will be about 14 inches long. Baby will weigh anywhere from 2 o 4 pounds. Baby can hear well and will react to stimuli such as light, sound and even pain.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;The amniotic fluid will start to decrease as baby takes up more room in your uterus. Most babies born after the seventh month will survive with intensive care. There is a higher risk of health and developmental problems down the road.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;h2&gt;26 weeks pregnant&lt;/h2&gt;  &lt;p&gt;Baby will have grown to 9.2 inches and weigh just about 2 pounds by week 26. The length is taken my measuring the distance from the crown to the rump. Baby will have periods of wake and sleeping. The brain and hearing are both developing in week 26. The brain patterns resemble those of newborns. Baby may move to the music that they can now hear. &lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;Week 26 may bring pains to you; both growing and otherwise. Your uterus is stretching in order to accommodate baby. This will often cause a stitch in your sides. Relax and breathe through them. They usually pass quickly.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;Baby’s movements are enjoyable and reassuring in week 26. They can also be uncomfortable. As baby grows, they will come closer to your rib cage. You may feel pressure or even pain in the ribs as baby stretches. Changing your position will shift baby and help relieve the pressure if it is becoming too painful.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;Even if you are taking maternity leave, you should look into childcare now. If you plan on returning to work after your maternity leave is up, you will need to formulate a plan. Doing it now will save you time and stress later. &lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;Nannies can cost anywhere from $250 to $600. The nice thing is that they come to your house. You won’t have to worry about transporting baby. Home day care usually costs $75 to $125 per week. Spots are very limited and you will be responsible for drop-off and pick-up. Group day care can cost $100 to $200 per week. &lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;Many day care providers charge extra for newborns and young infants because off the intense attention they require. You will need to factor in this cost as well as transportation costs into your final decision. If you can afford it, staying home may be the best financial option.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;&lt;i&gt;&lt;/i&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;h2&gt;27 Weeks Pregnant&lt;/h2&gt;  &lt;p&gt;Baby hasn’t grown much by week 27; baby will weigh just over 2 pounds and be 9.6 inches long. Baby has grown in other ways though. Babies in week 27 have enough hand coordination to put their thumb in their mouth and suck it. Thumb-sucking is both soothing to baby as well as strengthening for the jaw muscles. Baby has the ability to cry too.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;Meanwhile, your body is stretching and growing too. Most women will have gained 16 to 22 pounds by week 27. You may start to notice stretch marks on your stomach as it grows. You may also notice that your balance is not as good. Week 27 brings a decline in both balance and mobility.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;Although you have some time to go yet, you should make a birth plan soon. A birth plan is an ideal plan on how the birth should go. It needs to cover things like medication and medical intervention. Your birth plan should be attached to your records so that everyone is aware of your desires. You will need to discuss the plan with your doctor or mid-wife.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;Most professionals will try to reasonably accommodate your birth plan. Complications happen and birth plans may have to be changed or completely disregarded. The most important thing is your health and the health of the baby.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;&lt;i&gt;&lt;/i&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;h2&gt;28 Weeks Pregnant &lt;/h2&gt;  &lt;p&gt;In week 28, baby has reached about 10 inches in length and about 2.4 pounds. Baby’s eye lids can open and close. The lungs are developing branches that will be necessary for baby to independently breathe. Baby also experiences rapid eye movement (REM) which may indicate baby’s ability to dream.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;Week 28 will bring an increase in all the discomforts of pregnancy that you have been experiencing already. There will probably be some new ones too. Your uterus is positioned way above your belly button. This brings baby closer to your lungs.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;Many women experience a shortness of breath as week 28 matures. Braxton Hicks will also start around week 28. They are mild contractions and are like a warm-up exercises for the uterus as it prepares for delivery. Sit or lay down flat when you are experiencing a Braxton Hicks. Just breathe deeply and steadily until they pass.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;Leg cramps and swelling of your ankles will continue, but they may occur more frequently in week 28. You may find yourself urinating more often. Baby is placing a lot of pressure on you bladder so there isn’t as much room as before.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;Now would be a good time to think about hiring a doula for the delivery. Doulas don’t provide any medical assistance during delivery. They are there for moral support of you and your spouse. They can be the go between you and the medical staff. They can also help ensure that your birth plan is being followed as much as possible.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;h2&gt;29 Weeks Pregnant&lt;/h2&gt;  &lt;p&gt;Baby is now about 10.4 inches long and around 2.7 pounds. During week 29, baby is not flipping and turning as much as in previous weeks. There just isn’t enough room. &lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;That doesn’t mean the baby will stop kicking and stretching. Some women find that they can distinguish a hand or a foot in week 29 when it presses against them. Baby’s eyes are most likely blue now and can distinguish differences in light.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;&lt;i&gt;&lt;/i&gt;&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;You have probably gained a total of 19 to 25 pounds by week 29. Your uterus is sitting about 3.5 to 4 inches above your belly button. You may find that your emotions are warring with each other. You are excited and looking forward to having the baby. You are probably also anxious about delivery and impending motherhood.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;By week 29, your baby has a good chance of surviving with intensive care. Premature labor has many symptoms. Cramps and lower back pain are usually the first signs that contractions are starting. &lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;You may lose your mucus plug and start leaking amniotic fluid. The mucus plug is a gelatinous substance and the amniotic fluid is a watery, pinkish to brownish discharge. Doctors can usually stop premature labor from going farther by ordering bed rest and using different medications. &lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;Preeclampsia can also kick in during week 29. There are many symptoms that you may experience if you are developing this condition. A spike in weight gain, blood pressure and increase swelling in the extremities are common signs of an emerging problem. Headaches and blurred vision may also occur. Your doctor may order urine tests to see if there are high levels of protein in the urine.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;h2&gt;30 Weeks Pregnant&lt;/h2&gt;  &lt;p&gt;By the end of week 30, baby is about 17 inches from the top off the head to the tip off the toes. Baby also weighs around 3 pounds. The weight gain makes it possible for baby to start regulating their own body temperature. Hands are fully grown and the fingernails are starting to grow.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;The head and body are finally more proportioned. Eyebrows, eyelashes and head hair are all coming in. Baby is looking more like a newborn each week.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;As your come to the end of week 30 and your seventh month, it may seem hard to believe that there is still 10 weeks to go. You will typically gain a pound a week. Between the weight gain of you and baby, you may be feeling a lot more uncomfortable. Most women start experiencing an increase in pressure on their pelvis and lower abdomen as week 30 progresses into the next month.&lt;/p&gt;  &lt;p&gt;The membrane that surrounds your baby is commonly called the bags of waters. This sack doesn’t usually rupture until right before delivery. If you start leaking amniotic fluid, you need to call your doctor right away.
