"KEEP OUR INDUSTRY IN PASSIONATE HANDS"

Supporting your local skate shop is very important. To support local brands and shops owned by skateboarder is a top priority.

If these statements create such an issue and confusion, then the person is not analytic enough or never heard of the Consolidated Skateboards and Don’t Do It Foundation.

Yes it is politics, but without politics there wouldn’t even be a skateboarding scene, you running your everyday business, peace and prosperity. It is also what we call knowledge.

An easy excuse given is that he is an enemy and a hater. Have you ever look back and list down reasons, why that person envies you?

And to think taking advantage over people is normal is damn lame. But there’s a word for it, it’s called the win-win situation.

For years, NGO’s, companies have been trying to find a balance between mega bloodsucking corporations killing the smaller industry and yet we are not aware of the situation.

So now it’s a win-win situation between the mega-corporation and the skaters who wants to make more money than just being sponsored by local or smaller skateboard brands.

Some call it sell-out, but it can’t be avoided, but definitely we can minimize the side-effects from it.

Then again, we have notice, sometime working with Evil Corporation is better than working with lesser dudes that never kept their promises.

When profits come first before principle we have a big problem in our local skateboarding industry. Yes it is small, niche whatever you call it but it is growing and they are efforts to unite the local business operators set up by local skateboarders.

We support and love the effort but some people just don’t get along.

Life goes on.

WORLD LEISURE CUP ACTION SPORTS CHAMPIONSHIP

Korean eXtreme sports Federation (KXF) invited Mariss Khan to become one of the judges for the 2012 Chuncheon World Leisure Cup Action Sports Championship in Korea.

It will be held at Songam Leisure Sports Town X-game Park, Chuncheon Korea, 25-26 August.

There will be BMX Freestyle (Park & Flatland), Inline and Skateboarding.

D!RT SHOWDOWN TOURNAMENT

Well this is not a skateboarding event, but this is for ALL the gamers. We know most skateboarders are game addict; well this is one of the event they shouldn’t miss.

DC’S Ken Block Gymkhana car is featured in the latest D!RT Showdown video game. So there’s gonna be a tournament at Paradigm Mall Kelana Jaya on 29^th July 2012, 12pm.

We have always been as one. Now it's time to remind ourselves that we are still united as one. Frontside TV is going to open an inquiry booth and Mariss Khan will manage the competition. We know there's no transportation available to the park but we must remember that we as skateboarders are symbol of freedom and independent, so we do not depend on others to achieve our goals. VANS VS DC AT VANS GSD 2O12

Nizam Lee ollie over 38".

Vans vs DC finale for the Vans Go Skateboarding Day 2012 highest ollie competition at Putrajaya Challenge Park yesterday. Hairulzain Fauzi (Vans) end of battling for the top spot in the highest ollie competition with Nizam Lee (DC).

Nizam Lee won with 38 inches, Hairulzain 36 inches and M Hafizuddin third with 35 inches. Nizam however failed his attempt to equal 40 inches highest ollie recorded in Hong Kong.

We are still far away from 45" world record highest ollie made by Aldrin Garcia but we are getting there. Danny Wainwright and Luis Tolentino previously shared the record at 44.5 inches.

Although it was Vans vs DC, Royal Sporting House (RSH) are exclusive distributor for Vans and DC in Malaysia. Watch the highest ollie video battle at Frontside TV.

WE ALWAYS QUESTION KBS, BUT WHAT ARE WE DOING ABOUT IT?

We don't care if people / authority dismantle skate parks. But in this case, the one in Mont Kiara, we honestly think, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, KBS have to provide relevant answers, especially questions coming from a Malaysian athlete. Why this happen twice?

My question is: Why spend millions on an arena, in Kiara under Kementerian Belia Dan Sukan (KBS) using the pretext of giving young Malaysian athletes who represent our country on the international stage a place to develop their skills, then turn around and rent the arena to people who dismantle the ramps and just leave it in the condition it is in today. It is such a terrible site and it is even more terrible knowing that this will continue. My heart goes out to those who are not able to travel to the other parks and those who need Kiara, KBS's skatepark, which in my opinion, is the only properly built skatepark in Kuala Lumpur for training professional skaters. I have heard today that again the park will be rented out for another event that has nothing to do with Skateboarding, Inline or BMX and they will further dismantle the park. Is there anybody on Facebook who has the good heart to speak for these poor kids because I am just too tired of fighting alone.

We understand why KBS have to do this and they have the rights to do it because they own the whole place, but why the matter is not handled professionally. Our question is WHY THERE IS NO EFFORT FROM THE KBS TO ASSEMBLE THE PARK AFTER DISMANTLING IT?

So we've heard, but to those who tried to divide the scene, think again. Papan Skateboard Company (PSC) and Sibling can still crack a joke with each other about their boards. Fuad Saifullah, Sibling co-owner was seen joking about which board should be shot on camera with PSC rider, Azreen Azman in our SKUDAI EXPERIENCE video. Another Sibling co-owner, Munir was seen using a PSC board last weekend at Land My Trick 2012. So, stop bitching around and accept reality fools!

You’ll probably wonder why, you have the glamour, fame, the OK person look and the most important, adolescent - shot a lot of video to become famous - with all the mediocre lines and all the advantages you think you have, but you still have not enough sponsor or don’t get sponsored at all?

How come this ‘old man’, who doesn’t hard flip across 4-8 foot gap or does big spin over some 10 foot ramp can still get sponsored by some prominent companies? Is this case similar to legends like Steve Caballero, Gonz, Vallely or even Tony Hawk?

Mariss Khan, our presenter and co-owner of Frontside Media who owns Frontside TV can still manage to get his piece of pie in the scene at 33. Some argue that he doesn’t deserve it and should be given to younger, glamour and fit skaters.

What is the selling point here? They just don’t seem to have what Mariss have; I can’t think of anything more than maturity and mileage.

So if you wonder why Mariss have Rip Curl, Oakley, Power Balance, Papan Skateboard Company and Street Dagger backing him up, ask yourself, have you done enough?

So stop persuading kids in your area or skate park to boycott Frontside TV and Papan because Mariss is ruining the scene with his provoking, stupid and controversial questions in the Hot Seat and other FTV write-ups and start thinking, what you’ve done wrong up until now, you don’t get what you wanted.

Sometimes we wonder, who is the REAL haters.
