Gren Bartley’s sound roots from the Asian tradition. The guitar plucks drawl until they hit the last note, soothing the ears while bringing back old memories. The transition of chords flow without a rush, striking a sentimental nerve on purpose. Maybe this is one of the reasons why his album is named “Quiet,” a journey of serendipity to a safer place in the comfort of your home.

The striking feature of the album comes from its cover. Gren and the album’s names are written on a Japanese-like paper soaked in coffee and air dried under the bristle of the sun. Once the play button ticks off, Feelings of Mountain and Water draws the audience in as it opens the album with its languid, soft guitar hymns and instrumental piece. It accompanies Missing You, The Prince and the Princess, and Each Morning, all resonating to a zen unraveled on the top of the mountains and lush green forests. Tide surprises with Gren’s voice crooning “don’t turn away…love is a time that comes and goes.” His soft grief thrums still in Green Pastures as he sings “somebody help me…besides myself, there’s nobody else.” Hukilau changes the pace with its more upbeat tone and cheery singing voice of Gren. The uphill descends in Villeman Magnhild, blasting a more vengeful rhythm in its beat. Once Imperfect Love carries on with its instrumental lullaby, the farewell song of the album, there’s nothing else to do but circle back to the first track.

“Quiet” is the perfect name for Gren’s fourth album. It tugs the audience to reflect and reminisce, to wander about the unsaid thoughts, and, maybe, free the piled-up woes that have holed up in the heart.

Alicia Gwynn, CEO of Gwynndustries, said that her late husband Tony Gwynn always encouraged her to follow her passion for singing, and it’s good thing for us. Not only does Gwynn have the vocal chops, but her songs are genuine and have that feel good, uplifting element without coming off as preachy or saccharine.

Together gives you a sampling of the kind of songs included in the album. The self-explanatory title and the lyrics are applicable to lovers and friends through good times and bad. I Am features rapper Daniel Lee Curtis and has a more upbeat tempo with emphasis on self empowerment and breaking through.

Just Believe features another solid performance by Gwynn, while Love Give Love is a duet with Blaq Thompson, and it’s got a nice R&B groove about brothers and sisters pulling together. The song Meant to Be shows Gwynn can do dance music just as well. The song has a rhythmic beat not unlike classic 90s dance music, and the same can be said for Only Me which is one of the most danceable tracks here.

Few songs in the album are as uplifting lyrically as Up Up, while Dance with Me has a smooth, R&B atmosphere that celebrates the good life. Just leave your problems behind and have fun, the song goes and it’s a dandy.

Say Yeah speaks to the strong woman, and No Place I’d Rather Be combines Gwynn’s vocals with powerful beats for a true dance pop tune that gets you moving. With a combination of pop, dance and feel good lyrics, these songs are easy on the ears, and with lyrics that serve as food for the soul.

The mobile game industry is so competitive that some good games get lost in the shuffle and ignored. Others are quite deserving to be dismissed since they are ripoffs. At first glance Paint Pop 3D seems like your typical one tap casual game, but Good Job Games has delivered an exciting title worth getting into.

The game is clearly aimed at casual users as it is evident from the controls. All you need to do is tap and hold to apply paint on the spinning disc. Hold to paint and lift your finger to stop. Make sure that you paint only the white areas and avoid the black parts.

If you hit the black area it is game over. The first few levels only have a few of these obstacles so you’ll get the hang of tapping and holding. This is a nice element since as the obstacles increase and painting becomes more difficult.

The graphics are basic but functional and serves the game’s needs. Because the gameplay is so simple anyone can get into it. But that does not mean Paint Pop 3D is easy. The latter levels are actually difficult as the obstacles can really get in the way.

That being said Pain Pop 3D is still enjoyable. It is a casual game yes, but it is also one of those that is hard to put down. Since the mechanics are intuitive you’ll want to give it another try again and again.

These songs may have simple arrangements, but hidden beneath each one are emotions and lyrical depth that add layers of meaning and enhances listening pleasure.

I Wanna Be sets the tone for the album, with the guitars and Quentin’s voice invoking lazy summer afternoons with friends.The song has a chill out atmosphere and comes with lines that you can chew on. Essentially the song is telling you to keep going despite the challenges along the way. Raise Your Voice has a funky groove that really makes you feel good. The beat and rhythm are further enhanced by words like We have faith in our dreams and direction / You know we going upstream and cross the ocean.

The World is Yours is a powerful, emotional song that means literally what it says. Hear this sound, you’re not alone / Time has come to be strong, with the strings and tempo perfect for driving or when you’re traveling. With Go Away the centerpiece are the motivational lyrics that asks you to stop and think about what you want in life. Serious stuff yes, but the complexity is set in an infectious tone that you’ll enjoy.

The final track is Keep On, and as you listen to the guitar strings and Quentin’s voice, the lyrics become crystal clear. You can enjoy the song for its catchy tempo, but the lyrics are really the focal point as it speaks to us and our dreams. For lovers of reggae and feel good music this is one that shouldn’t be missed.

Dragon Ball Legends is a mobile fighting game based on the famous anime series. The game, courtesy of Bandai Namco, also has card elements so you need to combine strategy with skills. Unlike other card titles though, the action elements here are well designed and complement the gameplay. If you are looking for 1 on 1 action featuring DB characters, this is your game.

The best thing about the game is your favorite DB characters are here in full 3D. Swipe and tap and they will respond to your command. During combat, you are airborne, with swipes allowing your character to move around. To throw a ki blast or a melee, just tap. You can also dodge to avoid getting hit.

You use move cards to unleash the ki blast or melee, and while good reactions help it is more important to choose the right move at the right time. If if you tap for a ki blast, several orbs appear to keep your opponents at bay. Be ready though as your enemies can also counter your attack.

Some of the other cards let you hone in on an enemy to attack, while others give you power-ups and more. There are also cards that provide you with attacks unique to a character. The action and card elements come well together in this game.

Dragon Ball Legends also comes with several missions, training modes, PVP, event mode and story mode so there is plenty here to keep gamers happy. Health bars are plentiful too and there is no energy bar to be concerned about, which is a nice touch.

Compared to other AR titles, you can play The Walking Dead: Our World without traveling far as walkers are encountered often, but going around leads to more discoveries. You will come across weapons, walkers and characters from the TV series.

To use the AR function tap the toggle “AR available” and point your mobile on the ground. Now put your mobile device into a shooting position and you will see the selection set over the real environment, allowing you to get up close with walkers and other characters.

You can play The Walking Dead: Our World as a single player but the fun factor kicks up when you join others. Being part of a group allows you to take part in various challenges such as killing a specific number of walkers, and working with the group helps you unlock bonuses.

EDM (electronic dance music) has gone from the underground into the public consciousness, and acts like Atomic Cat are doing a hell of a job keeping the music fresh and invigorating. Their latest effort, Between Trance and Dance, is a superb concoction of trance and EDM, with modern touches and also elements of classic dance. This album is filled with a zest for life and a joy to dance and listen to.

Find Me Tonight is filled with energy, with a crackling mix of synth, electronica and persistent beats. The vocals match the music and this is going to get you moving at the club or at home. The same urgent rhythm is present in Your World . From the tempo to the futuristic samples, this is the kind of song you’d expect to hear in a video game soundtrack or when racing at top speed.

The next track is Popcorn Revolution with its thundering intro and balanced rhythm and sounds. its got this powerful sound while still retaining trance characteristics. With Out of the Dark we get a more uplifting song as evidenced by the lyrics, but still with plenty of oomph to get you moving. This same bright optimism is echoed in Life in Your Mind which starts off slow then builds to a faster tempo.

Two Hearts is like a classic dance pop tune about love, featuring some truly hypnotic beats complemented by the right vocals. With Melody of Whispers it has the same atmosphere as Your World , with a more futuristic feel to it and yet also contemporary.

Ocean is one of the most remarkable songs in the album, using the ocean as a metaphor for love and encasing the lyrics in upbeat grooves. Angel Dance features some complex arrangements, with numerous shifts in mood and speed. Lastly we have Save Me , a slow number compared to the rest but still enthralling. it’s an atmospheric, beautiful song that encapsulates the elements in Between Dance and Trance .

Microgolf Masters by TripleFun is mini golf game that combines elements of leisure and tactical play. Even if you don’t play golf in real life, Microgolf is fun and easy to play especially with friends in multiplayer mode online and try to sink that ball in.

There are four modes: single player, tournament, 4 players and the season. The Solo mode is for single player, and the goal is to finish six holes in as few moves as you can, and the top four advance. The Season mode is comprised of 18 leagues. Everyone starts at the 18th and your goal is to advance until you reach the first league called the Masters.

The meat of the game for most however, is when you compete against another player one on one. These are usually best of three sessions where your goal is to try and put the ball in the hole. This is tough enough, but what makes it even more so is the obstacles that are in your way.

The game plays in real time in multiplayer, and as you advance you’ll get the chance to advance to the bigger tournaments. For all the challenges, Microgolf Masters is easy to get into thanks to the simple pull and release scheme.

What makes this even better is you pull from the center of your display, meaning you won’t run out of screen space when setting up your shot. Unlike real golf, Microgolf Masters is the type of game you can play in short bursts and there’s a lot of replay value since you play against random opponents.

doPDF is a free program for creating PDFs. The software is quite simple, but it does the job, no more no less. If you are looking for a free application to make PDFs quickly, this is as good as it gets. Its native print option allows you to produce PDFs from any program. When you choose the Print option, you will see the doPDF option along with the rest.

The most common conversion is .doc to PDF, but there is support for .txt, HTML, .docx and many others. You can change the size of the paper, the quality settings and the orientation. For many users though the standard settings will be fine.

Reckless Getaway 2: endless car chase

Do you like games that are easy to pick up, as in really easy? Then check out Reckless Getaway 2. Published by Pixelbite, it is an endless chase where the goal is to avoid the police. It is not the most groundbreaking game out there, but its simplicity is part of the attraction.

As you play you get access to unique backgrounds and new cars. The longer you survive the more points you score so that is another incentive to keep going. Your car accelerates automatically so you just tap the left or right arrow to determine where you want to go. The early stages is simple enough but as the game goes on more police will arrive. You will also face police cars, SWAT, stingers and road blocks.

Your car blows up if it gets hits a lot, and you must avoid being trapped in corners by the cops. Avoid the water and other hazards if you want to stay alive. There are lots of cars to collect and you will race in industrial locations, cities, resorts and more.

Once you have unlocked cars you can use the ones you like. The APC can handle a lot of hits, but it is slow. A hatchback is faster but is more vulnerable to getting battered. Good thing there is information about each vehicle so you will know what each one is capable of.

Apart from the race there are other challenges to complete like blowing up a specific number of cars to get a reward, so there is lots here to keep you occupied.

AVION: Dreamin

When we think of the word ‘music’, many common tropes come to mind such as beats, chorus, singing and so on. Although this isn’t wrong in the slightest, alternative genres often remind us about the infinite possibilities hidden within the audio spectrum. One such genre is ambient music, which represents one half of Avion‘s Dreamin, the record occupying us today. Through 15 wonderfully subdued cuts, Avion produces a timeless, eclectic journey which seems to slow down time almost to a halt while lifting the listener with effortless grace. Let’s grab a nice cup of coffee and dive right into it.

Dreamin’s soundscape evolved from the textures and production style of Vaporwave, which has become a sizeable internet phenomenon at this point, aside from a respectable genre on its own right. With that foundation in mind, Avion has gone in an uncommon direction, relaxing the tracks until they lose almost all gravity, floating weightless across the plethora of flutes, synthesizers, gorgeous piano notes and other eclectic instrumentation comprising each song. Chord progressions are absolutely stunning at times such as in the title track or Mysterious, which provide both ominous and uplifting tones to great effect. Avion also goes for a more down-to-earth sound with the acoustic signature found in Relax Please and Natural Beauty. The result is a surprisingly dynamic album, wrapped in a veil of everflowing mystery that’s eerie and charming in equal proportion.

We could go on about what Dreamin brings to the table for the listener, but describing this album too in-depth defies its purpose. This record is a unique experience in a time where noise seems inescapable. An original, calm and relaxing journey that we thoroughly recommend to fans of all genres. The mystique found in Dreamin is not easy to replicate, thus we advise not to miss it.

Left to Survive

Left to Survive by My Com is an action shooter set in a post-apocalyptic zombie world. While some may argue this genre is overcrowded, My Com added new elements to the familiar tropes to breathe new life. So while you will be doing a lot of zombie shooting and killing, strategy and resource management are important too.

The simplified controls allow you to quickly get into the game. Hold the fire button to use your weapon and tap the gun icon to switch weapons. Holding the button down lets you fire continuously but you have to be mindful of your ammo, so use that only if necessary. Tap and drag the screen to look around, a crucial skill as there could be zombies in front or behind you.

At the end of each mission, you can avail of various rewards like grenades, med kits, weapons and so on. The cut scenes also appear at the end of each mission, giving you an idea of what is happening and gives the characters and events context.

Left to Survive incorporates resource management, so you need to gather resources – steal from other players if you must – build camps, gather weapons and so on. Aside from killing zombies you can also team up with other players or go head to head against them.

What is really exciting about Left to Survive is that you can play solo or multiplayer. You can even take part in missions where you are on a helicopter, adding plenty of variety.

Moped Genius: Multiverse

Multiverse marks the first solo project from John Conner, the lead vocalist of Lights From Space. Whether you call this a full solo album or a side project, one thing we can agree on is the 5 tracks are definitely worth a listen. The songs are classic pop rock with some really good guitar licks thrown in, and beneath the simple arrangement lies lyrical depth and complexity.

Fall In Love is one of, if not the best song in the album. It’s a song about yes, falling in love, and features excellent electric guitars. The vocals and vibe gives it that 60s feel, yet there is also a distinct modern pop rock touch to it. The next track Pale Blue Dot starts off with an upbeat intro and hooks you not just with the strings but the lyrics. It’s about love but also waxes poetic about reality and the meaning of life. Good stuff.

In Your Eyes is probably the most unique song in Multiverse. The song builds up momentum nicely and has this futuristic, space, electronic sound to it. The computer sounds are put to good effect and while it wouldn’t usually work in a pop rock album, here it does. Here is one of the many instances where Conner shows off his dexterity and craftsmanship, making this track a gem.

Dreamer brings the guitar to the center stage and with good reason. Accompanied by searing vocals, the combination of the two takes this one over the top. Lastly we have There Goes That , a beautiful and sad song that looks back on a failed relationship. Taking everything together, Multiverse is a strong album and a worthy solo effort from Conner.

There is also support for Amazon Echo, Alexa, Waze, Google Home and more. The app has been around for a while, but it is updated regularly with new features.

The streamlined design makes it easy to pick and choose a radio station. There are categories so you can fine tune your search. You can start with the app’s recommendations, or browse through the podcast options. Want to tune in to talk radio, sports? TuneIn makes that easy.

Once you’ve picked out stations, you can add them to the presets list. The share option allows you to share your findings with friends on FB and Twitter. Amazon support is integrated so you can buy an album or track in the app.

There is also Car Mode available. Switch to this if you are driving but still want to listen to TuneIn Radio. This option adjust the interface and provides buttons for easy station selection. And since there is integration with Waze, you can tune in to our favorite songs and programs while the Waze app runs. Just open an account with TuneIn Radio, link to Waze and it’s done.

The Rabbitts: Tall Pines & Tangled Vines

The Rabbitts is a British acoustic folk rock duo consisting of Lucy McKinlay and Odhran Linsey. Not only do they share vocals on their compositions, but they also play all the instruments, and in their album Tall Trees and Tangled Vines, their versatility is at full display. The 10 tracks not only highlight their vocal harmonies but also their skilled use of harmonica, mandolin, guitar and other instruments, indie folk music at its best.

Twisted Pine opens things up, with its dreamy, haunting vocals and acoustic guitar, and the harmonica is perfect for the track. With Wild the duo employ the mandolin and guitar, and the instruments blend smoothly with the lyrical content.

Swallows combines the flute and mandola, conjuring images of lush forests and fairy gardens. Brambles & Blackberries follows, and the vocals of Mckinlay and Linsey take the spotlight here. Luna Lupe is one of the more energetic songs in the albums.=, while Bud Burrow Blues shows that The Rabbitts can do the blues, and the harmonica is striking.

Midnight Moon conveys love under the moonlight, while Lonesome Tree is an atmospheric number that goes back to classic 60s folk rock. Meanwhile the mandolin used in the opening of Tangerine Green is excellent and gives forth a cozy ambiance.

The final track, First Life has this ethereal, close to nature feel that embodies the album. While there is plenty of indie folk music out there, The Rabbitts stand out.

It all begins with Computer Tide, where the softness of the music to come is made fully evident. The soothing synth stabs driving the track and the super-slow percussion would not be out of place in the outro of some 90s TV show. Temple and Evening Wind continue the minimalist trend with different iterations of the relaxing mood found in the opening cut. Pacific Maps brings a bit more oomph into the mix with a fuller percussion and synth combo, as if the sound philosophy itself got larger with every minute of the record’s playtime. Memory Recall‘s fantastic saxophone and vocals mixture pays for most of the entrance fee alone, making it a clear highlight and a must-hear for those jazzy, calming vibes. Night Visual is another great example of this stylistic approach. Finally, Echo Vision proves a worthy closer with a tremendous intro flowing into some of the best texture work heard throughout.

We all need calm, introspective moments from time to time, and music can be a great way to channel that intention. Computer Imagina‘s success stems from this perspective where the state of flow is all that matters. A perfect album for study sessions or talking to a friend with a glass of wine, it’s the kind of record that gets played on very specific situations, but when it does, few can match its striking atmosphere and laser-focused intentionalitty.

The workouts cover all the major muscle groups and have step by step instructions on how to perform them. There are also videos which demonstrate how to do them properly. This is very important to avoid injuries and achieve maximum benefit.

Freeletics is easy to use. Launch the app, input your goal, how fit you are etc, and the app does the rest. Some workouts are more difficult than others, but you can try many types so you progress at the pace you are comfortable with. Reminders are also built in so you don’t forget.

Fresh Body Shop: Maze

Pedro Rousseau aka Fresh Body Shop, is a true one man act, as he performed, produced and created all the songs in Maze. These 11 tracks is pure pop rock ear candy, with some funky beats and powerful guitars thrown in. The music industry is awash with pop rockers true, but it doesn’t hurt to have another one especially if they’re of high quality like this.

Make It Out gets things going with its catchy hooks and Rousseau’s vocals piercing through. The guitar solo is also superb here. Headed For a Fall starts off with loud, distorted guitars, and the screeching chords are well suited for its themes on waking up, a social commentary if there ever was one here.

Bandwagon is pure rock and roll fun, with enough grooves to get you up on your feet and stomp. With Waiting For a Crash the tempo slows down a bit as Rousseau carries it with aplomb. And yes, the guitar near the 2 minute mark rocks. Things pick up again with the hard charging, full throttle Feel It which almost has an anthemic atmosphere.

Erase is q quieter number by comparison as the narrative focuses on relationships, with some really solid drumming to boot. Hypnotic is another mid tempo tune with some of the best rhythms on the album, while What’s The Matter With You asks the question that most people have when in a relationship. it is a straightforward song with no frills but it is a pleasure to hear nevertheless.

Maze is probably the most distinct song here, with touches of 80s rock pervading here. it’s got a reckless, carefree element and the lines living on the edge underscores it. Out Of My Hands delves into emotional struggles told through Rousseau’s vocals and great drums (again). Lastly we have Soulless Love, where Rousseau gives voice to the things that people think about but often don’t say when a relationship ends badly.

Magic River

A lot of mobile games are growing in complexity, but there are still some titles that suit the casual gamer, like Magic River from Ketchapp. And similarly to their other games this is built on a simple but addictive premise: you’re on a boat and have to navigate your way across a river for as long as possible.

Once the game starts your character (a fox) will be on the boat and navigating through the river. Tap the screen to move and steer clear of tree branches, rocks and other obstacles around you, and the farther you get the more you will run into like man eating crocodiles. If you go through one of those crocs your energy bar will be depleted and colliding with a boulder will kill you instantly.

Your goal is to make it across the end and complete the level, but as you do that it’s a good idea to collect the gems and other goodies in the river too. The more gems you collect the higher your score is, and you’ll be able to unlock characters and levels. The graphics look great and movement is smooth with no dropping of the frame rates at any point.

The one thing you have to keep in mind is the Magic River is a fast paced game, even during the early levels you’re going to have to be sharp and alert. That being said, this is still a fun ride and something anyone can pick up right away with no trouble.

Various Artists – Howlin’ Banana Summer Sampler #6

From the name alone, its evident Howlin’ Banana Records are a peculiar label. There’s an almost nonchalant attitude in their branding, perfectly in line with the style of music they promote. However, it’s also clear after a quick glance that this is not a bunch of French amateurs. All the colorful drawings, clever marketing and the material itself are carefully thought and crafted to complement each other in a way that’s hard to forget. And so we arrive at Summer Sampler #6, an album-length showcase of the Howlin’ Banana’s (I love saying that) efforts, highlighting just how much freakin’ fun rock music can be – as if we needed confirmation. In their own words, Howlin’ Banana have been managing French Pop, Garage and Psych outfits since the start of the decade, and their artists clearly fit into those descriptions, although it’s often more than one at the same time, or right in between two of them so they escape accurate definition. With 13 tracks, this summer sampler features enough for just about every taste, infecting listeners with a laissez-faire experience that’s become elusive in today’s overly straight-faced music landscape.

A good part of the album resides in what could be considered Beach Rock, mixed in with a healthy dose of Psychedelia: think Black Lips meets Tame Impala after having listened to the Beach Boys for an entire night next to a bonfire in whatever coastline you can imagine. There’s an actual Beach Boys cover thrown in if you’re not convinced! It’s just such a ride, and it makes a lot of sense for a compilation. It’s all rock, tremendously fun and very, very well produced. I mean, they can make a guitar crunch in ways that will have you hit the repeat button until it breaks… not that you can in a digital player, but you get my point. Oh, there’s also a Nirvana cover if you’re feeling grungy. I won’t spoil the details of the individual tracks, I’ve already sold this enough anyway, but simply know this sampler holds the potential to revitalize the youthful party-rocker within you in more ways than one.

So there you have it. Let me set the record straight: download this, get a beer and a friend, then play it out loud. You won’t regret it. This Summer Sampler #6, as intended, also serves as a rock-solid introduction to the Howlin’ Banana’s impressive repertoire. EasyFind is a free application that you can use to search for folders and files in your Mac. Created by Devon Technologies, it is one of the easiest search tools for the Mac available today, but its simplicity masks the power that the program has. While there are a lot of options here, the interface makes them easy to figure out.

At the left side of the interface you will see the criteria available for searching: File Contents, Only Folders, Only Files, and Files and Folders. Now you have to select Unix-Wildcards, phrase or any word, and you ask EasyFind to make it a case sensitive search if you want.

EasyFind also lets you determine how wide the search will be on the disk. The program also provides you with more options without having to use long keywords. Most importantly, it finds what you are looking for quickly. You can also search by filename, date, creation date and modification. But if you want to simplify the search you can turn off those advanced options too.

The developer has also paid a lot of attention to the way that the program works, as even the most intensive searches are more like a breeze. In short, EasyFind is an application that actually finds what you want and fast. If you have a lot of files on your Mac and constantly searching for them, you may want to download EasyFind and make your life easier. The program may be free, but it is more powerful than other commercial software out there.

Avi Rosenfeld: Sad Wings

The prolific guitarist Avi Rosenfeld has returned with Sad Wings. Collaborating with vocalist Marco Buono, the 10 tracks are an amalgamation of classic rock, blues, rock ballad and a touch of the country as well. This is Rosenfeld’s 38th album but the man hasn’t lost his touch, and he clearly has a lot more to offer.

Running to the Station is a funky, bluesy number that shows how well Rosenfeld and Buono work together. The vocals and the guitars feed off each other and this track just grooves and rocks, while Sad Wings of Destiny has more of a folk element that contrast nicely with the previous song.

Supernova is going to rock you with its guitars and vocals, while Late Night shows that Rosenfeld is just as adept at producing sophisticated tunes. Next up we have If You’re Going to Sacramento, with its distinctly South American flavor, providing even more variety to the songs in the album.

Gotta Feel Alright features some exceptional guitar work by Rosenfeld, and the bluesy atmosphere adds to the appeal. With My Own Precious Girl there is a more folksy tinge, while Sentimental Blues has a cheerful vibe made effective by the vocals and instrumentation.

Sooner Or Later is a hard rocker with powerful riffs and a soaring performance from Buono. This track, more than any, is a clear ode to classic rock. Last but not the least is Thinking Loud, a thoughtful, well arranged number that serves as a fitting end.

The gameplay is very smooth, and the color scheme is light with plenty of pinks, blues and whites, suitable for the winter atmosphere. As pointed out above, there are plenty of accessories and outfits to choose from and, you can customize not just the hair and skin but also the lips and eyes. In other words, you can make the princess truly your own and stand out from the rest.

Once your princess is ready you can take her photo, and you can move and rotate Coco easily. There are IAPs here, but you can disable them in your mobile’s settings, and they’re not really necessary to enjoy the game. Thir$ty – DEVYN+RO$E

DEVYN+RO$E (Tanya Dormevil) didn’t get to hear much music growing up, something she admits. But that didn’t stop her from carving out a career in the industry as a singer and songwriter. Now, her LP Thir$ty demonstrates her musical growth, and through the lyrics tell the story of how she overcomes her struggles. There’s food for thought here, and musically it’s also a treat for hip hop fans.

The album opens with the lush Falling 4 U, probably Rose’s best known song, and her sultry voice takes us through the sensations of falling in love. Stellar shifts the tone and is about doing things her way, and this is also expressed in Cops X Jury, a song that gives us a glimpse of what it’s like to live under a spotlight. Definitely one of the best songs in the album.

The sexy – and explicit – Robothot follows and then the atmospheric Mood Killah. Both songs again showcase Rose’s depth and versatility tackling various subjects. Can’t Complain is about how to live the life in style, and then we have the 6 minute plus Cryptic. with emphatic lyrics like “I’m the cream of the crop”, the overriding theme is coming out on top, which is also echoed in the excellent Dracular and the slow jamming Gangsta (I Stay Lit).

The lusty Killah + Bad rivals Robothot in eroticism, while No Way has this atmospheric, spacey feel to it. The arrangement in No Way evokes mystery as well, an undercurrent in the other tracks. Thir$ty, the title track, delivers the goods and encapsulates the themes of struggle and success in the album. Rose’s smooth delivery is evident in Rockin and Look, and the last song,Who Are You has some of the coolest grooves here. From start to finish, Thir$ty proves Rose is for real.

Dancing Line is a music rhythm game, and Cheetah Mobile has retained the basic principles n the genre. That is, you start listening to the music and make progress by reacting to the beats. That is what the game is about, but there is so much here, and it is more challenging than the typical music rhythm fare.

The game is easy to learn: just tap to the beat and watch as the environment around you changes. Sounds easy yes, but by level 2 you will notice an increase in difficulty.

Blocks go up or go down, the path clears or it may become narrow. The weather plays a factor too as it affects your visibility. This polygonal environment changes quickly and becomes more dynamic the more you play. Credit should also be given to Cheetah for creating an interesting environment that complements the music.

And speaking of the music, they are catchy and well suited for the game, and the multilayered instruments work nicely with the mechanics and visuals. The secret to a good music rhythm game is is to have the visuals, controls and the music in harmony, and that is what you get here.

Dancing Line graphics are streamlined but it is ideal for the game. Even if you are not familiar with music rhythm titles, the game allows you to work on your tapping skills. As simple as the mechanics are, skills are a necessity to be successful here. And if you fail, just wait for your energy to recharge to give it another shot.

If you like music rhythm games, Dancing Line will be to your liking.

Shadow Fight 3

Mobile fighting games can be hard to pull off, but Nekki has done that with the Shadow Fight games. With Shadow Fight 3 you’ve got lots of action, easy to use controls and smooth graphics. There are elements of RPG and character customization too for some variety and even more addictive gameplay.

You can customize your character at the start of the game, after which you undergo training via the tutorial. Once you’re ready it’s time to step into battle. Keep beating your opponent until their bar is gone, and each blow you land fills up your shadow bar. When it reaches a certain level you’ll be able to throw some heavy strikes.

At the bottom right are the action buttons. Punches, kicks, throws, blocks, and more are possible by using different combinations. At the left is the joystick that controls your character’s movement. The stick is intuitive so you’ll have no problem with jumps, moving forward or stepping back to avoid hits.

Win a battle and you score points, plus you get access to character upgrades and new weapons. Land some really good shots and you’ll earn currency for weapons purchases and additional customization. The weapons and equipment you choose has a direct bearing on your performance. Packing heavy gear makes you powerful but slow. Light gear makes you faster but vulnerable to heavy hits. You have to find the right mix to win.

Shadow Fight 3 is fun but also hard. This isn’t a game that you’ll complete in one sitting, but if you’re willing to put in the time this is very rewarding.

Today, we unite to discover the Italian label Juicy Traxxx, who are keenly aware of the time upon us and have, fittingly, decided to release their Juicy Summer Sampler for 2019. The album provides a fantastic soundscape to join friends and shake it like there’s no tomorrow, while cleverly introducing the label’s artists at the peak of their powers.

Our six-stop journey begins with a bang, provided by Aymeric’s Luv Talking. A funky, somewhat melancholic piece, great for starting or ending playlists in a way that still makes bodies sweat. Real Love by Alex R continues the bittersweet trend with a piano-driven cut, accompanied by a housey percussion that’s meant to please ears and subtly engage would-be dancers, resulting in a solid warm-up track. The next two tracks throw all the meat on the grill, starting with Eskadron’s Dedicated Groove. The song starts off intensely and never relents, featuring a powerful beat and clever breaks, paving the way for a majestic keyboard riff that adds melody and oomph, rounding up one of the summer’s unexpected hits. Sevenbeatz’ Zoundtrax is a more than worthy follow up, unleashing the funk via conga beats and one hell of a bassline, packing a punch and vibrating the hips all at the same time. Past this point, the album commences the wind-down sequence with Sin_Apses’ Ghost Effect; an atmospheric, subdued piece with an almost minimal vibe, perfect for DJs to mix and provide those much-needed breathers before the next banger. Finally, Loops by Voyd offers a mentally-overwhelming closer, basking in surreal synths and seemingly endless loops to let the mind wander after the good ol’ legs have been put to work.

Many artists attempt to capitalize on the summer season with varying degrees of success. Juicy Traxxx delivers proof of the creative power possessed by their musicians with one of the best compilations you are likely to hear all summer. With something to entice most electronic music lovers, this summer sampler is surprisingly well-rounded for its length. As if the quality on display wasn’t enough, it’s free, as everything else we cover on the blog, so go ahead, download and have some dancey fun, it’s on us.

One touch mobile games are still popular among casual gamers, so publishers keep churning them out. The trick is to make them stand out from the rest, and that is what Voodoo did with Rock of Destruction. As you might guess from the title, it involves a rock rolling down and destroying everything in its path.

As far as one touch games go Rock of Destruction controls are among the easiest. You swipe and hold in the direction you want the rock to go and the rock will turn. You have to be careful and not press too long as the rock could spin out of control. The key to successful rolling is to hold brief and but solid swipes.

You can also do a flick swipe to slightly inch the rock over. This is a good technique to keep the rock on course or if you want to fine tune its position. This method is also going to come in handy when you are trying to collect gems that are in hard to reach areas.

The goal is to destroy everything in your path, but also keep an eye out for the purple gems. They usually appear when you are in front of a large obstacle so keep that in mind. And do not worry about those black buildings that are impossible to destroy as, you need to upgrade first, then you can destroy everything in your way.

Rock of Destruction is mindless fun and it does not pretend to be anything more. If you want an enjoyable game that is easy to pick up, Rock of Destruction is a good choice.

One Piece Treasure Cruise

One Piece Treasure Cruise from Bandai Namco is an action RPG based on the popular anime series, but even if you have never watched an episode of the show, you’ll find this easy to get into as the tap battle mechanism isn’t hard to figure out. The game centers on Monkey D. Luffy, a young man with the dream of being a pirate, and that means a lot of adventures.

In the game you put together a crew and go against a wide range of enemies, each more interesting than the last. As you might expect in an RPG there’s an evolution, leveling and character types, but there is an action element here too that requires lots of precision tapping to get that killer strike done.

One Piece Treasure Cruise isn’t just all action though as timing is essential: you need to strike the right balance between waiting for the proper time to hit your opponent and not running out of time. However the more battles you win, the more new and powerful abilities become available, and many of these attacks can be performed by using specific members of your team.

One Piece Treasure Cruise also gives you the opportunity to boost your characters and make them more powerful via a card game like system, and as you play and gain experience you’’ll gain access to more power ups and features. While there’s an energy bar in the game, it’s well implemented, and you can earn currencies in the game by playing, and it’s something you’ll probably be doing a lot.

Ghosts – Lukhash

The music of Lukhash redefines eclectic, and nowhere is this more apparent than in her latest album Ghosts. Her music, in her own words, is “8 bit rock”, and those elements are present here. But Ghosts shows how much her music has evolved and grown in complexity. Mixing vocals with electronica and thought provoking lyrics, and you’ve got a winning combination.

The title track Ghosts starts off with a slow, haunting melody. The tempo picks up in a minute, and it masks the angst-filled lyrics ” step 1you fall, crash and burn you’ll lose it all/Step 2, you sink, disappear into the brink/Step 3, you feel, hoping that this isn’t real“. The ghost refers not to a spirit but the “ghost” of someone long gone, and it’s very relatable. Destroy has a more upbeat tempo, and this is a classic example of the artist’s use of 8 bit effects, making it stand out from the typical electronica / techno track.

Drowning has sensuous vocals layered on synth waves, and it would sound just right in an 80s dance club or arcade. Funkotronic is one of the best tracks here, as the insistent funky beat goes well with the digital, techno and electronica elements spread throughout. The anthemic Take Control combines rap, rock riffs and powerful lyrics that is uplifting without being preachy.

Lullaby sounds like something you’d hear in an 80s TV soundtrack, but yet it still has modern elements. The shift in tempo here is seamless, as is the case with Eighty Five. This is perfect for the dance floor, with its futuristic yet retro groove. Sunset has a distinctly modern industrial sound, and its relentless, infectious rhythm can make people with two left feet dance.

Everywhere is a mid tempo song, but the lyrics pine for a lost love and harkens back to the title track. Next up is Space Invasion, and it lives up to its name with a healthy infusion of techno, 8 bit, and synth, blending together smoothly.

Heaven is a powerful electro rock instrumental, with touches of the classic rock ballad. Then we have Young Forever, another rousing track that fits well in an action video game score. Finally there is Under Your Skin, a dance track with lyrics that speak about breaking out and emerging from the darkness. Top to bottom, Ghosts is a solid album.

Glu Games has been producing several games featuring celebrities, and Gordon Ramsay Dash is the latest. Given that Ramsay is a famous chef, it is no surprise the game has you managing a restaurant and trying to make an impression on Ramsay. Unlike other games where the only draw is the celebrity, there is some good gameplay here.

Gordon Ramsay is a casual game but there’s real depth to it. You start by choosing an avatar, and a brief tutorial follows where the fundamentals of the game are explained. Once that’s done, customers start coming in to your restaurant and make their orders known via images.

Tap the proper ingredients to prepare their order and serve. The mechanics sound easy and it is: tap a food item to select, tap the grill to cook and when it’s done, tap the customer to serve it. However things become more complicated in the latter stages as you will need to prepare condiments and make dishes that have complex ingredients.

As you progress you will be able to open new restaurants with new dishes that you have to learn to make. You also have to get new equipment to prepare the new ingredients, so make good use of the currency you earn in the game. While things get more challenging, it doesn’t deteriorate into mindless tapping, but you do have to be careful when there are multiple orders.

Gordon Ramsay Dash is fun: juggling those orders while running a restaurant is challenging, but it’s always interesting to see what food they want.

Soccer Stars

Soccer Stars from Miniclip.com is not your typical soccer simulation game. Instead of the typical ball kicking, you get to control orbs that represent the players around the field and try to score a goal. It’s like soccer except you’re trying to bounce the orbs or stars in the net. It sounds and looks different, but it’s fun.

Like other mobile soccer games, the emphasis here is on multiplayer gaming, but there is an offline single player mode that’s useful for getting yourself acclimatized to the rules. Soccer Stars consists of several tournaments and one on one sessions, but the objective is always the same, and that is to score two goals before your opponent does.

When the game starts you have a team of five orbs and so does the other player, and you can bounce the orbs in various ways. You just drag your finger in the direction you want the orb to go and make a gentle push. The orbs are sensitive and so they’ll bounce off the other orbs as well as the walls around the pitch.

Getting used to the controls in Soccer Stars can take a bit of time, but once you get the hang of it, it’s second nature. While your main objective is to push the orb to score a goal, you can also use the orbs to make defensive positions. Another challenge is there’s a time limit to making moves, so you need to be on your toes. When you win, you get coins that you’ll use to enter into more tourneys.

Huge Disco! – Conway Hambone

Disco may be dead, but its spirit lives on in various musical genres and artists who have taken it to a different level to suit modern sensibilities. Huge Disco! by Conway Hambone shows how you can take disco – as polarizing genre as any – and turn it into something new but still have that classic touch. The four tracks demonstrate that one, retro is still hot, and two, that’s not a bad thing when done right.

Art Macs Moog Swings sets things up nicely, and right from the opening you get that feeling of electricity in the air. It’s an instrumental like the other three, with a persistent steady beat. The flute section is exemplary and gives the song that irresistible groove. No doubt there’s elements of disco here, but it is also modern. Art Macs Moog Swings is simply atmospheric with a beautiful rhythm.

Herbert Fontaine Rides Again! can be described in different ways, but if we had to choose one word, it’s funky. The funky groove is highlighted by the flute and guitar interplay, driving the song steadily without losing a beat. it’s the kind of song you can dance to but is just as suited for chilling out. The third track is Illegal Disco 3 and at over 5 minutes is the longest. It doesn’t feel that way though as the song, while new, has this feeling of familiarity, like reliving fond memories. It is unmistakably contemporary but the ode to the 70s cannot be missed.

Last bu not the least is Texican 73, and with its disco and reggae undertone strikes the right chords. The mid tempo beat is perfect for when you’re cruising and want some ear candy. Bottom line is Huge Disco! offers fun, enjoyable party music, and if you want to have a good time this is your ideal companion.

Space Marshals from Pixelbite is one of the most unique games available today, as it’s a combination of western in a futuristic setting with a pretty good story line to boot. Coupled with some really good graphics and sound effects and you have an engaging game.

The opening sequence shows a giant space ship suddenly exploding as the ship, filled with prisoners, has been ambushed and an attempted jailbreak is taking place. Your character is space marshal Burt, and it is your job to make sure that everything is restored to order by whatever means necessary.

The large mission is divided into small parts, but they’re all connected to the end goal. The first mission is basically a tutorial to get you started on the gameplay. You move your character by dragging, and dragging is also involved with the shooting and since the whole mechanism is shown during the opening sequence, you’ll figure things out in no time.

The game perspective is top down and gives you a clear view of the beautiful graphics, and the futuristic scenes are well laid out and presented. Space Marshals also has an arcade feel to it with a wide array of weapons, powerups, boosters, checkpoints and gears.

There are some puzzles you need to solve, and while it’s fun to come in with all guns firing, there are times when you have to go stealth mode. Furthermore there are special achievements to play for that makes the game even more enticing. Bottom line: Space Marshals is exciting.

Google Keep

So many things to do, so little time – a problem a lot of people face. The key is knowing how to organize your day to day activities to make the most of your time. Google Keep from Google is a notepad app with syncing capabilities. It links up to Google Drive and offers support for checklists, voice notes, images and more.

Google Keep saves your files in Drive from where you can access it on any mobile device. To add notes, just press the text box and type. Look under this and you will see buttons to add images, voice notes, checklists, text notes and so on.

To activate voice notes just tap the mic and start talking. Google Keep then turns your speech to text. Your recording is saved to the file so you can replay it. Its text to speech conversion is pretty accurate and is quicker than writing down long notes. The nice thing about Keep is how seamlessly it integrates with Google Drive so anything you save on Keep is accessible there.

Google Keep also has a home screen widget that lets you make notes even if you do not open the app. This is a handy feature especially if you just want to take a quick note. Another advantage of Google Keep is its quickness. Compared to other note-taking apps, this one is faster and more responsive, making it a practical app to use. If you are not happy with your note app, Google Keep is a good option.
