Frosted Crossbones

Werd.

2012-03-03T12:42:00.001-08:00

So, I I've had a weird few months. And I apologize for not blogging. Not like it REALLY matters.

Anyway, I had a surprising holiday season last year. It really felt like I was running a REAL viable business. which was stressful and fun at the same time. I went from 2-4 orders a week to at least 2 orders a day. Which felt extremely odd, let me tell you.

Soooo Many Orders...

Anyhow, after the holiday season cleared up I business kept somewhat steady. And I started getting some interesting offers. One of which was from MSN.com to be featured on their beauty blog. I was very happy to be included and low and behold I was first featured in the article, very nice! Then Diet Coke emailed me about one of my remaining polymer clay creations, Diet Coke Can Earrings. Now, normally companies don't come knocking at your door asking if they can use your items in a Tumblr campaign. Usually it's a Cease & Desist letter asking you to remove the item from your Etsy shop. And awesome on top of awesome, they emailed me yesterday to let me know they would be sending me some sort of care package for letting them use my item. I'll be sure to show you guys what it's all about once I get it.

Neat-o!

Then I randomly got featured on the Front page of Etsy at 4am PST. And due to this I was contacted by the WENDY-FREAKING-WILLIAMS Show. They were doing a Save the Twinkie campaign and were interested in featuring my "Twinkie" Soap on her show. Now here's the kicker, they needed 200 soaps in the course of 4 days. I am only one woman, but I managed to pump them out ahead of time. And then I waited...and waited...and waited. I emailed the producer...and waited some more. Finally around 2 weeks after I had pumped out nearly 35LBS of soap for these people they got back to me to let me know that they had DROPPED the campaign. Bummer. I'm still roughed up by the whole situation and am refusing to even look at the soaps. If you love me go buy one. They are buy one get one free right now. It was kind of a strange snag, but I'm working through it.

Buy one...please?

But the icing on the cake is that after 3 failed attempts at being on Heartsy I'm finally going to be featured. But the victory is going to be bitter sweet since they will be shutting down their website not long after my feature. So, I look forward to many wonderful sales to make up for the crappy Twinkie situation. I'll be sure to link to the discount sale once the link to it is active!

Thanks to all of my wonderful customers, supporters and readers. I really appreciate your support! You guys are great!

So, First I'm going to cover my butt and say GO CHECK OUT THE ETSY!!! It's lonely and is full of new things. So there.

Now, This post is going to be a very strange all encompassing blur of things I have been too lazy to post from the last few months. Yes, yes. I'm terrible at keeping up with my blog...I KNOW. But, I also REALLY doubt anyone reads this fucker so it probably doesn't matter you and you probably never missed me. You probably noticed me in your blogspot feed and went OOOH! Or maybe you read everything else on the internet first and thought "Ugh...FIIIIINE!"

Here's Mom and I at my most recent Deflowered Art Show.

Let's just say I got really trashed on tasty beer which later forced my mother to question my as a responsible adult...THAT was fun.

This is Joel's new desk photo for work. I know I haven't mentioned this yet but he recently got a position at the Ritz Carlton Lake Tahoe as the Director of Audio Visual. Not super exciting for you guys but for me...I'm STOKED!!!

Random pictures I made myself look blonde in.

AAAND the zombie version for his desk that he is going to put out sometime next week...

That wasn't a very interesting post...I didn't really do anything blog worthy I guess. I'm awful. Also, my BFF is out of town in Ashville, NC visiting her sister. I miss her. And last week she was in the bay at Treasure Island music festival. She gets back on Halloween. I'm picking her up at the airport. I guarantee a blog post filled with photos of me embarrassing her at the airport. I intend to wear something completely outrageous. While holding a sign with her Pen Name on it. Just you wait.

Re-Selling

2011-08-11T10:15:00.000-07:00

It has come to my attention that some of my items are coveted by re-sellers. Since they are truly handmade and cannot be found anywhere but in my kitchen where I make them. It brings me to a very difficult question. Do I agree to make these items for re-sellers and roll in the dough or do I keep my morals and say no thanks? It's a really hard decision to make since many like minded people despise re-selling.

Have you ever let someone re-sell something that you make or have you stuck to your guns and kept yourself as the soul seller of something?

In all honesty I am finding it hard to believe that someone would really want to buy my cabochons in bulk. Really, you can't come up with your own creativity and make something different?

Money or morals? It's a difficult choice.

Holy Hell...

2011-08-10T15:57:00.000-07:00

I haven't posted a blog in like forever. I apologize. I've been dealing with a few random life phenomena that I can't really disclose. Some of them good and some of them not so good. Anyhow, it's summer...and it has been for like 3 damn months...whoops. I guess as soon as it gets warm here in Tahoe I completely forget I have a blog to keep up. So let's start from the beginning.

Hubz and I got a new Pup.

Her name is Jasmine and she is the MOST evil dog ever. She is a wire hair Jack Russel and I love her. She's totally cute and sweet one minute and the next she is ripping through the house barking her tiny face off. She's also a fantastic mouser, and we haven't had to buy glue traps since we got her! She's caught 6 mice so far, yay! Normally I wouldn't be okay with animal on animal violence but the mice have been ruining our belongings for years. Bummer.

I've lost 40lbs thus far on Weight Watchers...YAY! And thanks to my new self confidence I actually got a modeling gig with the designer behind this site. I've only done one shoot for him so far. and I'm actually waiting on my second shipment right now. Here's a few shots from the shoot.

Also, July was a house guest filled month. First our friend from L.A. came up to visit one weekend and then my mom and step dad came up for nearly a week. I'll have pics of that up soon...that is if I took any...I can't quite remember.

While they were here we played lots of Screw Your Neighbor, finished planting my garden, went to Soule Domain and even went kayaking! I wish they would have a stayed a few days longer, I had sooo much fun with them!

Also, right before my Mom and Step dad got here we went out to a 90'a show with my Best girl Lisa B. The three of us got all fancied up in our best 90's fashions only to find we were the only 3 dressed up...Whoops! Here's my outfit: Acid Trip Posh Spice!

Sorry my eyes look all evil and stuff but the flash caught my soul. I promise I'll add picture of the 3 of us soon and we were all getting hilarious stares...not to mention I got forced up on stage at one point...not...funny.

I'm going to leave it at that for now. Hopefully I'll post a few photo filled blogs soon. Aaaaand as always don't forget to check out the Etsy I posted lots of new jewelry and soaps that people are dying over!

Check...check..check...ch-check it out!

Lunchie Munchie Time

2011-05-11T14:47:00.000-07:00

So, I'm totally refusing to post the blog of our last Sac trip to see !!! since it's really just a ton of pictures of us drunkenly stumbling around the 28th block of Sacramento. And I'm really not in the mood to rehash the drunk parts of that night. However, I will say that the Indian food we had was A-mazing! It makes me wish we had an Indian food joint around here for me to get Chana Saag at...yummm...

Anyway, onto some more foodie tales. As many of you know I'm on the Weight Watchers plan. So far I've lost 20lbs. Crazy...right? I never thought a diet plan could actually work for me. ANYWAY! Enough about WW.

Today I made a totally DE-LISH BLT minus the B. Since I don't have anyway and wouldn't really dare to buy any since I'd probably eat the entire package in one sitting...I looove bacon. None the less. I made this tasty sando with the following ingredients...

1 wedge of Low Fat, French Onion, Laughing Cow Cheese

2 Tsp of Lite Mayo

3 Slices of Tomato

1 Double Fiber English Muffin

1 Romain Heart

1 tsp of Mustard

1 Pinch of fresh ground Sea Salt and Pepper

If you're on WW this is a 5pt, super filling and delicious dish to put in your face. Also, I toasted my english muffin because I like warm sammies! Also, I have gotten a really good reaction to the French Onion cheese by both my BFF Lili and Hubzors, which neither of them are on WW they just both enjoy that cheese. So, I recommend you grab a wheel of it next time you're at the store. Did I mention we are whores for cheese? Cuz we are...lol.

TASTY!!!!

On a different note, I bought some caramels from Fusion Sweets back in December for our anniversary. They had some Thai Chili caramels that I knew Joel would DIE for, since he is in love with spice. Anyway, the other night while Lili was over we decided to bust them out. And before you get all cranky-pants about them being in our cupboard for 6 months just stop. They were still super chewy and soft and delicious as the day they came in the mail.

Anyway this is a picture of the Vanilla flavored caramel. Lili, Joel and I consumed the other 3 flavors the night before. I saw that there was one 1oz of it left and had to nibble on it...Okay I ate the whole ounce... Anyway, Fusion Sweets offers a variety of flavors. Our personal favorites are French Lavender Honey Vanilla Sea Salt Butter Caramels, Some Like It Hot Thai Habanero Butter Caramels, Chocolate Peppermint Butter Caramels and Sweet and Creamy Vanilla Butter Caramel. And I will be back soon to buy some of the scrumptious looking marshmallow to roast over the fire pit this summer...CAN'T WAIT!!!

Shmerp, Derp, Doodly, Do

Heartsy

2011-05-04T10:48:00.000-07:00

So, I sent in my application to Heartsy.me and I would RE-HEALLY appreciate if everyone went over and voted within the next 72 hours HERE!

It would make my week if we could pull this out and get me the 60 votes.

Here's a sneak peak of my next blog...

I wish my photo editing software had a Weight Loss setting...I KNOW the internet has one...I've used it before.

I'm like 90% sure this had something to do with the tree insulting Joel's shirt...I could be wrong though...

Until next time this will have to tide you over. And PLEASE VOTE!!!

I pooped my pants today...

2011-04-20T00:29:00.000-07:00

I wish the title of this blog was a joke...but it's not.

As you may well know from my last blog post I'm on Weight Watchers. And on WW you get a certain amount of points. And in order to lose weight you have to stay within your points. Well, lets just say that I get 32 points and I eat 12 points between breakfast, lunch and a snack and then decide to have a few* glasses of wine with Lili. Wine isn't free of points. In fact it's around a point an oz. Last night I drank 20 points of wine. That means I drank more points than I ate...and if you're curious, Yes, I stayed within my daily point value. However, in being such a good dieter, I ended making myself quite sick. So, there you go.

*See an entire bottle.

Also, I still have a blog that is begging to get written but I don't really feel like it right now.

PEACE!

Weight Watchers...

2011-04-14T19:08:00.000-07:00

About 3 weeks ago I decided that I would take the leap and start weight watchers. I've never really dieted, counted calories or frankly given a crap about what I put into my mouth. I'm not saying all I'm doing is hurking down cheeseburgers and fries, but I certainly wasn't thinking about how many tofu chick'n nuggets I was putting down my hatch.

First on the agenda was cleaning out the cabinets and fridge.

Some of the junk I nixed.

I filled and entire trash bag with crap.

I'm not going to lie there were a few things that weren't exactly healthy that I couldn't part with. Including my cupcake decorations (which do become parts of soaps and resin jewelry so it's not all bad), crisco and other baking supplies. I don't normally eat a lot of my own baked goods so it's not really a big temptation. Unless the sweets are premade.

I'm sure that there are probably some not so healthy things left but my husband is NOT on a diet, lol. He can lose 10lbs in one day if he wants. And If I don't keep him fed I'll have an entirely new problem that I don't want.

Sugar and fat free puddings along with whole grain and low cal breads.

Yes, I did mark point values on boxes so that I was fully aware of them.

More baking supplies.

So far I've lost 13lbs on weight watchers and am VERY pleased. I did have a gym membership but it lapsed today and Paypal screwed up during a transaction yesterday so I have to wait for that to get sorted out before I can re-up my membership.

I also used every last bit of my weekly splurge points this week due to an outing with our couple counterparts (blog in the works I promise). I've never used them all before, so I am a tad bit worried about losing weight this week. We'll see though I try to be honest about everything I eat and it's worked for me so far.

Blow Dryers & Tahoe People

2011-03-17T00:41:00.000-07:00

REMINDER: Any and all photos can be clicked for a larger version.

So, Tonight was couples night. And yes! For once I'm actually going to get the post up on the same night! What a concept, right?

Anyway, Joel and I went to Costco the other day and saw that they had 2 $50 gift cards for $80 for the Truckee restaurant Moody's. Now, I didn't go in expecting to dislike this place...HOWEVER, Lili has been here before and...well, She's had better, haha. Gotta love my honest bff.

Now, if you're curious about the blog title, here goes...I decided to blow dry my hair after I got out of the shower, which I never do and absolutely fell in love with the way my hair looked. And second, I realized our couplezies bond is that we are all born and raised Tahoe people...who would've thunk? We're a rarity here.

Act Natural...Joel's all blurry..haha

So, I was super tired tonight, I don't know why but I'm not getting nearly enough rest lately. Still kind of on a bender from last week. I had 4 or 5 (not positive) cups of coffee while at dinner to keep awake, I'm still tired. I actually drank at least twice as much coffee as I did wine...weird huh?

See the coffee?

Anywho, So we probably waited around the bar area of Moody's for a good 5 minutes before the bar tender even looked our way. Which by that point Lili and I had decided to use the ladies room. Joel ordered a bottle of Zin which got picked up by the host (who looked like Steve Jobs, Black turtle neck and all) and then set down on the booth divider and then left to sit for about 10 minutes. Seriously, Wednesday night and we can't get decent service? So, annoying!

We managed to rope our server into taking a picture of us after the bartender had to leave the bar to open our bottle of wine.

OMFG...Can you day psychotic?

Cute!

Blind Girl conversation...Will these ever be funny to anyone but us? We may never know...

You know the bit.

IT took us like 20 minutes to get menus...good thing we scoped the menu online the night before.

Huh? What?

I dunno...

SHWAWT?

We had some really tasty Hedgehog Mushrooms. No Hedgehogs were involved in the making however Polenta and a sunny side egg was involved...HOLY YUMMERS!!!! Lili and I were thinking about licking the bowl.

For serious?

I don't know what they're looking at...

Lili's BIG ASS PORK CHOP! It was super tasty and super huge. WE all had a chunk of it!

My swordfish with mashed potatos, tempura asparagus and fennel.

I decided shortly into my fish that I didn't actually want fish...WHOOPS.

Joel's Rib Eye with Bearnaise and pom frite.

We traded plates halfway through but I only had one or two bites.

Stevesies Din-din...Vignetto.

So, Back to where we started. Lili and I like to take bathroom pictures...

Huh?

So, we had generally slow service and weren't treated super great. I probably wouldn't eat at Moody's again. Now, if I lived in Truckee I probably wouldn't rule it out as a dinner option. However, since we live at the lake I wouldn't eat here again, even with the implied 10% discount.

Now the runner up to the mushrooms was the dessert.

Lili and I talked the boys into letting us get the s'mores.

The marshmallows were divine. It seemed like the entire thing was homemade. It was pretty much amazing but a little overwhelming sweetness wise. Also, the boys got a white chocolate peppermint creme brulee. Which the mint was OVERWHELMING as all get out. I tried to take a sip of wine after I took a bite and it tasted like I had just brushed my teeth. Also, it was a bit over egged. It's seemed like the Entree Chef has a bland pallet and the dessert chef over did everything. Not the best thing I've eaten for the price I'm sorry to say. I tried to like it. However I watched Lili making notes of the flaws, which I agreed with. We will NOT be back...Sorry Moody's we'll be taking our business elsewhere.

No for some funny bloopers of our couple counterparts trying to share a s'more, lol.

FIN

My day as a redneck...

2011-03-12T00:07:00.000-08:00

So, a few Saturdays ago we had to drop of Joel's truck to get looked at again since he already had it fixed and it was acting funny again so he took in under warranty. We also had to go run some business related errands. We decided to take my assistant Mikey and Lisa decided that she also wanted to go so that she could get some feathers from Cabella's to make earrings with. While at Cabella's we decided that it would be a fun and hilarious idea to go to the "shooting" Range. I'm not a gun person by any means.

Get them thar guns ready!

Lili is so serious.

Mikey's got this! Joel keeps giggling!

Huh?

I think she got it...

I got's you thing that makes the squirelly move!

Lili actually didn't find the feathers she wanted which sucked. We then had to go to the dealership for Joel to drop off his truck and we decided that it would be a good time to take pictures in the car.

Mikey was pouting because Joel was taking FOREVER to take his car in, lol.

Pouting contest?

Finger stash?

Weirdos

Apparently Lili and I like to make the same face.

Lili doing some boob walking...

I love Mikey's rubber face, HAHA!

Boob-side service

Lili has a boob fetish me thinks

Mikey is adorable-ness

After Joel dropped off his car he forced his way into the driver seat and drove us around on the errands.

When we were done shopping (and wandering around Wal-Mart, playing with barbies, and screwing with giant champagne glass vases) we decided to stop for a few snackies at Johnny Carino's.

Lili was quite warn out from being in Wal-Mart for a little too long.

Mikey Hungie - Mikey POUT!

Lili perked up a little bit after she found an unattended poop in the ladies room. I'm not kidding...you can leave your comments and questions for her about the poops in the comment section below. She also made Mikey and I look at it with her...frightening.

Fin.

I thought up a really cool name for this blog and then forgot it...

2011-03-07T23:37:00.000-08:00

So, a few weeks ago Joel and I decided that us and a few (okay quite a few) of our friends would go out to eat together at the restaurant that my BFF, Lili,'s man Steve works at. I will now tell the story of the night in photos. This will be good...and extremely hungover for 90% of the participants.

It started as a nice enough evening. Lisa and I were doing our normal photo positions including but not limited too, blind girl conversation.

I see you

And Uh, uh! I don't think so!

We then commenced with everybody look at your butt time...

Now we will awkward photo time...

I didn't realize how animated this photo was at the time.

Me creeping Lisa out.

Chris is the only one pleased to be in this picture.

I think Joel is playing see-food.

Chirby is already a little bit tipsy

It looks like Lili just conquered something.

Very interesting.

Eli stuffing it in.

Awkward...

We're pretty, or something...

Stevsie joining in on the fun.

Not sure what that is that Chirby is showing me...

He ate all of the rest of everyone's soup.

Then this happened...

I swear I'm waiting for Lili and Eli to join me...

See...

Apparently something smells...

Everyone was staring at me...

I have serious issues with this...

So, Joel handed me some wine and Lili helped get me nice and liquored to handle it.

then she turned on me...

She decided to draw AS MUCH attention to me as possible...

Chirby laughing at my misfortune.

Jerry, Sarah and Chirby judging me...

Food Porn TIME! My dinner - Kiwi-Mango Champagne Scallops

I think this was some sort of Thai shrimp thing

Joel's Rack of lamb

Jerry's Dinner

Me being a Creep and trying to hold Lili's hand...

Lili pretending she wanted to hold hands...she was actually quite creeped out

So EXCITED!

Too...something.

Such an interested conversation...

Chirby being silly...

Things have officially dismantled...

No fraking idea...

Yeah...Eli's sweater is super tasty...

That NEVER happened...

People were looking at me again...JEEZE!

Normally I wouldn't post a picture like this but us girls kept going in and out of the restroom together and at some point the camera got brought with and at that point Lili decided it would be funny to tell me that she was going to take a picture and then take one while I pulled my top down...Everyon with us found this photo to be utterly hilarious so I had to post it.

Lili...HILARIOUS

Umm...spoonie.

Semi- drunk group photo...notice the EXTREMELY annoying people in the background.

BLURRRRSSS

Okay...Now everyone scatter to get to the other side of the table for a different angle

RUNNNNNNN

Not positive who we conned into taking a picture of us...everyone in the dining room wanted to kill us.

BLUR

Really?

How many times can we take this photo before it's NOT blurry?

5...and it's still blurry...FAIL

And now...it's Lil and Steve time...

Not again...

Apparently we were being soooo loud in the bathroom!

The end...lol.

Valentines Day - Couples Breakfast

2011-02-26T22:01:00.000-08:00

So, Joel and I got up at, what I consider to be, the butt crack of dawn (9am, yes-yes, I'm a major douche). And we picked up Steve and Lisa so we could go to the Donner Kitchen. I was a bit groggy and very excited to have a Santa Clause mug filled with caffeine. Lili was in the mood for boob surfing.

Can you tell I'm groggy? Major puffy eyes!

Apparently I'm disgusted by fake flowers...

We ate our gigantic breakfasts and decided that we would head to Truckee for some more coffee and outdoor photo-ops. But first I have a fairly hilarious photo and a video of explanation.

And then here is the video that Joel accidentally took before hand...

Yeah...Puffy eyes and sunlight are not my friends.

I found it hilarious that the book and Bean called their soup of the day Soup Nazi

Steve and Joel pontificating.

Hey Everybody! ACT NATURAL

More NATURAL

Okay, Less NATURAL

TOO MUCH!!!

Steve looks slightly frightened...

She rubs the lotion on his skin...hahaha

She also wipes her butt on him.

Totally Awesome!

We felt like chaperons, lol.

Next up I'll be posting the group outing to Soule Domain, where we TORE IT UP...seriously. It. Was. Epic.

The Final Installment of the So-Cal Vacation.

2011-02-12T01:39:00.000-08:00

Are you excited? Because I am! Thank god right? It has taken me like 4 months to finish it with all of the other blogs mixed in. Anyway!

I forgot to show this is the past blog this is the exterior of the restaurant they shot the morning after scene in Knocked up...YAY!!!

All of these pictures were taken on the day we left. We actually managed to pack quite a bit in for how little time we had. We left our hotel in Santa Monica, I was a little sad to leave since It had such a nice view of the ocean. We then drove down to Long Beach. We had about 4 and a half ours to kill before it was time to get back onto the ricket-rocket and jet back home. We decided that we would visit the Long Beach Aquarium since we are both quite large nerds and also the Santa Monica Aquarium had been closed that day anyway.

Giant clam thingy.

Fishy

Brain Coral

And here comes the series of photos that A. Remind me of Finding Nemo and 2. (yes 2) Make me want to ride the Nemo ride at Disneyland again.

Kind of creepy looking fish that reminds me of Nightmare Before Christmas

More coral stuffs.

Seahorses! There were like 5 different types of sea horses and I'm almost positive I got a picture of all of them. These are the most normal of the bunch (P.S. You can click on any picture to make it big...I've never said that before...maybe I should have...whoops)

Scary pointy fishies!

Leafy Seahorses, What's cool was that If you looked in the tanks you could see the Sea Horses digging their tails into the sand to hold them in place.

SEA TURTLE!!! Us and a couple of little kids hung out near this tank for like 15 minutes just watching him swim around!

Leaf Sea Horse again!

Weird creepy skeleton reindeer looking sea horse (Why does everythign sink up to Nightmare Before christmas? I don't KNOW!)

So pretty and cute!

Alas, it was not meant to be we actually had to high tail it to get to the airport so that we could wait around for about 2 hours, lol. We didn't want to be late for the flight like we were the first time!

This was the last picture I took until we got up in the air. I never knew how close Randy's Donuts was to the airport, that was kind of weird/exciting!

Yes those are two bottles of vodka in my mouth. I'm not normally a big drinker but if you're getting me on an airplane my ass is getting drunk...sorry. This is the last photo from the trip (technically).

Btw, if you know any of the names of the fish listed above let me know and I'll change them!

Random So Cal Vacation Part 3

2011-02-09T00:26:00.000-08:00

Doing a kind of random blog since I haven't posted any vacation photos in a good 3 months. ANEEEWAAAYYA.

Joel and I took a drive through Malibu I got a few pretty photos.

Some palm trees.

The Santa Monica sign

Looking down from our room at the Viceroy...I'm in a glass cage of emotion!

Beautiful sunset on the ocean.

I forced Joel to drive me down to the pier one night so that I could get a few better photos of the iconic Ferris Wheel.

I didn't go on it because, well, it kind of never came up. And It kind of gives me the willies to be on the edge of a pier on a Ferris wheel. I was pleases as a peach just to have a hotel room out looking the ocean!

Us at Swingers in Santa Monica..Yes we had the exact booth they shot Knocked up in!

We also decided to go to the Wax Museum.

Joel apparently did NOT like the way Joan Rivers asked him who he was wearing.

Douche bag city. lol

And the creepiness begins.

Joel was getting fresh with Conan

I was all up in his lap...But I should have gotten on the other side of him...whoops

His hair was a bird.

So...uhh...gangsta?

Joel was trying to see if it was cool if he and Brad swapped...

...neither of them seemed that excited about the idea.

1995

Joel isn't a Mel Gibson fan and I the guy in the background was trying to figure out the deal.

Joel was trying to propose an 11th commandment.

Well...I tried.

My fave photo from the whole museum.

I look extra puffy in this one.

Insert squinting douche joke here.

Creep...I never thought to ask how Marlon Brando tasted...hmmm

Joel always looks like he is trying to pick up some ladies.

Trying to look sexy/not creeped out...

*Does an Eddie Murphy style laugh*...Racist.

Joel thought he was a creep

I just couldn't get over how ugly his shoes were.

I wasn't going to lick him...I swear...

Joel was trying to make me jealous...NOT GONNA HAPPEN...lol

I think he was trying to get him away from the children...

Insert Vagina joke

Did I ever tell you guys that Joel is utterly obsessed with Lance Armstrong...yeah...he is.

And...I think I'll have one more vacation blog and then I'll get on with the rest of last year...whoops...Sorry If this one felt a little forced...cuz it was...ugh...

I completely forgot!

2011-01-31T16:30:00.000-08:00

I've been spreading the word around etsy and twitter that I'm stuffing peoples business cards into some promotional Valentines I'm sending out on the 9th of February! I still have plenty of room and would really appreciate some more business cards to stuff! I only need 10 business cards per business and I'm only charging $1 to help with the cost of postage. If you're interested email me, comment me, text me. Whatever! I'll give you the info and we'll work it out! I just want to help out some new (or old) Etsy people that needs some sales and can't afford regular means of advertising! Actually I don't even need you to have an etsy just have a business card, K?

Sank-yoo!

Good Week! Great Week! Better Weeks!

2011-01-30T18:04:00.000-08:00

So, I'm having quite a better week this week. Sales are back to normal and I've even gotten a few custom sales! My fave! Also, I finally updated the etsy shop after not posting anything out of, well, frustrations, lol. I'm actually quite proud of a few of the new items and I'm also proud to announce the launch of the Frosted Crossbones Lotion and Body Butter line!

In other news this is one of the custom items I did! It's a full soap cake for a nice gal that has a shop that she wanted one for! I thought that was pretty awesome. I now just have to shrink wrap it and ship it tomorrow!

I forgot to mention I'm also launching the bath salt line too!

I'm pretty excited but I'm also bummed that I don't have a bath, so I'll just have to settle for foot baths in the kitchen sink!

Chocolate Chip Cookie

Carrot Cake

Lemon Pound Cake

I'm always trying to evolve the product. Cuz it makes me happy!

In other news Joel bought me a BARBIE!

Not sure why she's raising the roof...weird.

Prety pretty!

Also, the dog dog kept making faces at me...

I thought this one was super cute!

Excuse the messy house...I've been busy

Also, Trying out some new packaging!

And I've been neglecting the PS3 I need to play some video games!

Also I have to share a few of my favorite new product photos!

Well, I'm worn. Yes, I know I need to finish posting the So Cal photos...promises promises.

That is all. Now back to your regularly scheduled blogging.

So Frustrated.

2011-01-21T15:38:00.000-08:00

So, I've been getting increasingly frustrated over the past few weeks. I have quite a bit on my plate business wise. I have a ton of new products that I don't have packaging for so I can't technically make them, frustrating. My other new products that I do have packaging for keep coming out wrong, frustrating. I've also completely stopped getting orders, FRUSTRATING! Sometimes I just want to throw in the towel...ugh. I'm also pulling out my hair every time I try to use my drawing software (Serif DrawPlusX4 if you can help me I'll love you forever). It seems like every time it starts out fine and everything looks good then it decides that it doesn't have to actually keep what I'm drawing...ugh. I'm sure everything is my fault and I don't mean that in a negative way I just mean that in a, I'm new at a few of these things and I'm not positive how they work exactly, kind of way. Which is really frustrating because I'm running everything by myself and don't exactly have any friends that I think know anything about any of my projects, not that they would even want to help me if they did. Ugh.

So frustrated. I really just want to cry or go on vacation or go on a shopping spree. I also REALLY want a cigarette and of course I try not to feed into nicotine cravings but damn...plus, I just don't think it would actually help my absolute absence sanity.

In other much better news Joel and I did get to go to couples night last week, unfortunately we got very few photos and they came out quite blurry so bear with me please.

Blurry picture

So, cute!

Joel wasn't looking for some reason...

I promised a picture of the mid-game bloody nose...here it is...

Sadly, we haven't had a chance to get together with them this week, which really bums me out on top of everything else. Hopefully we'll get to spend some time together soon before my head explodes and I decide to sit in a dark corner rocking myself back and forth.

Did I mention my work space needs shelves? No? I need shelves...lots of them...there will never be enough storage for my things. Like Joel always says, "Your things expand to fit the space you have." Which is true but I've had to give a lot of my stuff up in the past and I don't think I'm asking too much to have a corner of a room to myself...ugh.

Enough ranting...I'm gonna go slam my hand in the front door a few times to see if I can get some endorphins going...FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

Anniberthary Season

2011-01-10T21:58:00.000-08:00

If you know me you know that I got married on my birthday. If you don't know me then, NEWSFLASH, I'm a spaz.

Unfortunately, I still don't have the new power cord for my computer so you'll still gonna have to wait for the rest of the vacation update. Anyhoo.

Party Time!!!

We just sound like a bunch of hens when we're together.

Brett (in the background) kept trying to get everyone to drink the booze he brought.

I'm not why this was a problem...

Yeah, we had noise makers.

Being artsy fartsy.

Now, for a series of blurry photos. Look kids it's DRUNK-squatch!

Double DRUNK-squatch.

Not sure why I was posing like a begging puppy.

Like our fridge?

I'm sure they were talking about gear or recording or some crap...LOVE YOU!

Cooing over the giant orange gummy bear.

Parading the gummy bear around.

It had to be done, he just wouldn't stop talking.

I love Joel's MAMA!

We made Joel take our photo multiple times since he couldn't get our angle right!

I don't know why, but I find this hilarious.

Different angle, DRUNK-squatch is holding a beer.

I think this one was taken before I turned the camera over.

Not sure why I photographed my stockings

Sarah picks at the gummy bear.

Wait for it...

{insert drunk barf joke here}

Hands

Jersey Matt and and his cutie girl friend Laura

Everybody wang-chung tonight.

Dev's acting like she is camera shy, HA!

Yes, I drunkenly lied on the floor to get this.

yeah, barf jokes, ha...ha

Not amused.

Amused.

Pause...CONFETTI TIME

They are so cute that it sets kittens on fire.

Ya know....I'm not sure what any of this is...

Or this...

Or even this...but I think it resembles an orgy...

I think Mr.DogDog just disrespected her...No one respects the Laura.

I think we were doing the safety dance.

I'm finishing with a bang on this one...Joel is the mutant offspring of a beer factory and a unicorn...or...something.

{Pause for laughter and applause}

2011 Sale and More

2011-01-02T00:28:00.000-08:00

So, I have yet to post the rest of the vacation blogs. Unfortunately my brick, for my new Toshiba with all of the pictures, fried, during one of the many recent snow storms, and I've been using Joel's Mac book Pro. It's kind of killing me but it's also nice to have Photoshop again. Anywhoo.

I'm having a sale on my Etsy. Use the code frostmy2011 at check out for 11% off until the 11th of January.

Now that I've gotten that business out of the way I also wanted to let you know that I'm about to update the etsy again AND I've been working on www.frostecrossbones.com so check it out. I'm trying to work out all of the kinks. I'm also thinking about doing some sort of advertising on there but we'll see.

And last but not least this morning I woke up to an amazing offer to have my things featured in a shop in Florida. I'm trying to decide what I want to send out there. Valentine's day is coming up and I've got a few cute things 'll probably send out there for the occasion.

We'll that's about it. so far 2011 has included video games, sitting on the couch, eating weird stuff out of the pantry and not wearing any pants. Either it's the great start to the new year or we're living in a trailer and I'm pregnant...and I'm NOT pregnant.

Overwhelmed -The tale of hygene procrastination, Nov. 11, 2010 - Dec. 13. 2010

2010-12-13T11:06:00.000-08:00

I realized while staring myself in the mirror tonight, while brushing my teeth, that I have not washed my nappy head of hair in over a month. This blog post is dedicated to all the hats I've been wearing the past few weeks.

*Side note* This blog post will have no: Cute drawings, funny pictures, or talk of the southern California vacation...except for what I just said.

This past month has been crazy hectic for me. My Mother got married. I had 2 crafts fairs. A bag order that I was begged to re-do. I also hit the front page of Etsy.com thanks to someone featuring me in a treasury about pink items. This of course has brought on a surge of brand new customers that I have been struggling to keep up with.

It’s not like I haven’t been bathing, I just haven’t had the time to commit to actually washing and restyling my hair. And now I’m down to the line. My driver’s license expires this month and my appt. is on Tuesday. This means I have to re-dye my hair tomorrow, and go to my stylist to get it cut and styled, before my 3pm appt. on Tuesday. I know what you’re thinking and the answer is yes. I dyed my hair around a month ago as well. So, I pretty much have the most intense pink hair that you’ve ever seen on a dirty *hippy.
*Note: I’m not actually a hippy. I just hang out with a lot of them.

I also have to mention that my most beloved In-Laws, I always say it but I DESPISE calling them such a derogatory sounding name, are coming to town the day after my license appt. I’m trying desperately to get the house clean so that we don’t look like a couple of unkempt teenagers that have one outfit for everyday of the year and simply toss our worn clothes on the floor to be washed when the year is over, because that’s kind of how it looks…seeing as the year is coming to an end after all.

I don’t know what else to say beside, I’m tired and very unattractive at the moment. I look like if the planet of the apes, Gene Simmons and Bozo the clown had a daughter with serious skin problems and possibly a mild mental illness. It’s the new black. You should try it.

Anyway, I maintain to keep my promise of finishing up the So-Cal Vay-Cay blog series, but for the moment it’s on hold. And I probably wouldn’t hold out any hopes until we start to round the holiday corner. I’m off to hit the hay.

20 *Reasons Why I haven't Organized the Vacation Photos.

Southern California Vacation part duex

2010-11-09T23:31:00.000-08:00

So, apparently I've too busy eating pot roast, drinking and playing charades with my friends to actually organize the photos for the blog. Bear with me...

So, the second day at the park Joel and I kind of screwed up and ended up getting there sort of late. However we did get to ride the Nemo submarine ride.

Tiki head!

Giant clam shell!

I had a totally jenky window that was CALKED IN! WTF?!?!

The dark parts were AWESOME!

I didn't realize these little girls were in the photo 'til their dad yelled at them.

I never realized there were cookies in the table!

There were cobwebs in the oven and the cake was dusty. Clean yo self Disney!

So, after Joel and I got back from an amazing dinner at Catal in Downtown Disney we walked into our room to find our bed covered in rose petals! At first we thought Joel's mother had paid them to do it, because she sent us a bunch of baskets and cute stuff. Later we found out that because we told the front desk that we were their for our honeymoon/anniversary they automatically put a note in our housekeeping. We thought it was super sweet and thoughtful of them.

I forgot to mention that we went to build-a-bear. We actually ended up going two days in a row because I went in blindly the first time to get my E-Friend, Zambi, a gift. The kitty was originally for her but then I found out that she likes Ariel and got her a Hello Kitty dressed like her.

Wine country casual.

Folsom street.

Joel informed me that the last frame looks inappropriate. FYI he's pooping.

The third night we were there we went and did basically the same thing we had done the night before. Except this time I actually took pictures. Did I mention I was dressed like a total douche tourist? And that it was a pretty nice restaurant. Good job TOURIST! Btw, we both drank boatloads of martinis the night before. We had to search out the greasiest things in the park. This was at the restaurant next to the flight simulator in California.

Huh?

WTF mate?

More ketchup packets than chicken fingers

At one point Joel jumped up and started recording the park speakers because they were playing Jupiter from the planets. It's his favorite contemporary symphony.

NERD! I <3 Him.

He was really excited about the burger, I think it had blue cheese on it?

Also, the random trash can behind him in this picture had a back pack in it. They called security and we just assumed it was a bomb, so we decided to GTFO.

Giant water hose in the bugs life land at California.

We also went and did the walking tour of sleeping beauty's castle. I got some pictures of Zambi's Fave villian!

Really cool rose garden.

So I mentioned that we went to the same restaurant two nights in a row. It was so good that they didn't even have salt or pepper on the table. That either says to me, it's awesome, or pretentious. I'm the kind of person who really wants their food salted and surprisingly I didn't need it.

Amazing butternut squash soup

Scallops with foiegra, a sweet potato puree and a little veggie pouch. The only gross part was the veggie pouch. It was chewy and not super tasty, kind of bitter.

For our last day at the park we were kind of running on empty, our feet hurt and the crowds had come back to the park in full force. We decided that we would ride the train around the park to rest our feet and get away from all of the crying babies. While on the train I actually saw one of the infamous Disney cats. It was cute black and puffy. It had just woken up from a sunbath near some fake deer. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get a photo. Bummer.

After we made it back to New Orleans square we stumbled onto Jack and Sally posing for pictures. The line was REALLY LONG! Like there were more people in line for autographs and pictures then there were in line for the Pirates of the Caribbean. So we ended up doing that for a second time instead.

I snapped this super cute picture of Joel while we waited in line.

Mickey Pumpkin! Yes, it did take me 4 days to finally take a picture of it!

Bye-Bye Disneyland! I love you! You were wonderful! I'll see you next year!

Yes, I did wear my fanny pack the whole time and both times we went to the nice restaurant. I'm embarrassing!

We kissed our beloved Disneyland goodbye and headed off to our second destination The Viceroy - Santa Monica.

The lobby was pretty swank.

The view from our room.

We soon found out that the hotel turned into a uppity club at night which I wasn't super into.

We decided to head to the Santa Monica pier for some eats at Bubba Gump Shrimp company. I soon found out that I was weak sauce for ever picking such a place since they have them on every corner in LA.

I got to sit in front of this elbow macaroni. You do.

I'm an expert crab eater and did not need this bib. It was merely for photo op purpose.

Okay, I still have 4 more days coming but I'm not gonna post them now. You're gonna have to wait! You'll love it!

Southern California Vacation Part 1

2010-11-06T18:33:00.000-07:00

The night before...

7AM
We begrudgingly wake up, kiss Mr.DogDog goodbye, pack up the car and get on our way to the airport. Both Joel and I got stopped and searched in security. I let the cops use me as an example which inevitably made us late to get on the plane. This wouldn't have been that big of a deal but I haven't been on a plane in over a decade. I was forced to confront my fear of flying head on.

This is what I had to step onto...a TEENY TINY PROPELLER PLANE...that you had to walk onto the tarmac to get on. I was not pleased. I proceeded to cry for the next half an hour until the flight attendants walked the booze cart down the isle. I ordered a double gin and immediately began regretting my choice. I soon began drunkenly blubbering. We did experience some turbulence due to the crappy weather. By these point death was inevitability and I didn't understand why everyone on the plane was acting so calm.

I didn't actually do that, but by the embarrassment on Joel's face I may as well have done that.

Of course we landed safely and I may as well have kissed the ground as I exited the tiny tin can. We then proceeded to hulk our millions of pieces of luggage to the rental car and Joel made me drunkenly help him with the directions.

We made it to the Disneyland resort with out much fuss. I was pretty frazzled after having such a stressful morning. We went to our hotel room and settled in before deciding to go to Downtown Disney. Which was actually a nice little section in the Disney compound. The weather was pretty bad the first day. We actually didn't get out to the park until around 6pm for the special night time party which I ended up not getting dressed up for because the rain was too much to deal with in a costume. The one nice thing about the weather was not having to wait in line for very long.

We stood in the middle of the walkway like morons to take this.

From Snow White's Scary Adventure.

I was a little hopped up on airline excitability so this ride and many others actually frightened me.

Part of the Haunted Skellington experience.

Little Oogey cymbal monkey thing.

After riding all the rides we could handle, sore feet and drenched clothes forced back to our hotel room. I was pretty emotionally and physically worn out. I pretty much spent the rest of the evening in bed unable to move, no matter how much I wanted room service.

That's all for now. I'm going to sort out some more photos and figure out what order to post them. Stay tuned!
