It seems like yesterday I said the year was flying, and Frosthold has been dormant for quite some time now. Not long before the autumn leaves will fall. My daughter is already 4 months old, time is really flying.

However - I post with great news - that the CD When Brothers Fought In Arms is available once more in the merchanidse page. Please help support us by spreading the word and picking up a CD - they're only £4, so you have no excuses.

The Year Is Flying

It seems so recently that it was the start of 2009, and here we are nearly half way through. Frosthold has gone a bit quiet recently, but that is because mid-April, I became father to my beautiful daughter, Freyja. Soon we will restart rehearsals and breathe life back into Frosthold, but for now we are on a temporary pause. We are also out of stock of CDs at the moment, and as soon as I have time I will get some more done so we can start shifting more. Thanks to everyone who already purchased one, either at the Cannibal Corpse gig or on our merch page. In the mean time, keep yourselves well, and enjoy the summer festival season.

Drink mead and thank the gods for another great year so far. Another update will come soon...

Plucky locals Frosthold clearly planned to make the very best they could of what would be a dream slot for any young extreme metal band - supporting Cannibal Corpse is probably as close to a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity as it gets, especially in a venue as intimate as Portsmouth's Wedgewood Rooms. There's even a decent percentage of crowd to catch their set.

Their stage presentation may be a little polite and clean-cut for the genre, but their gritty and straight-faced approach to their music works pretty well. Frosthold bill themselves as the Anglo-Saxon answer to the Viking battle metal outfits, so the heavy martial rhythms and grinding guitar are accompanied by growled vocals about dawn raids by longboat and foraging in enemy territory. A bit more theatre might make the material more believable, but there's no mistaking their commitment - Frosthold may well be pillaging your village in the near future, so sharpen your scramasax.

Cannibal Corpse Gig is SOLD OUT

Unfortunately the Cannibal Corpse gig is totally sold out now. We are only given a certain number of tickets, and we managed to get 10 more yesterday, but due to huge demand for the show, these were sold by yesterday afternoon.

Apologies for anyone who didn't get a ticket (and there were at least 5 people asking me!) - if we somehow come across some, we'll message each person individually!

Frosthold will be supporting Cannibal Corpse at their only UK headline show of their current tour. The gig is on Wednesday 18th February, and doors are at 8pm at the Wedgewood Rooms in Portsmouth.

Frosthold are playing another New Year's Eve Eve gig this year, and the line-up is absolutely stellar.

This year, the line-up boasts some of Portsmouth's best acts, including Little London, Dragon Eye Morrison, Cut The Blue Wire (last gig ever!), Belligerence, and of course the mighty Frosthold.

Recording Begins Soon

So the new year rapidly approaches, and Yuletide is in full swing. Frosthold are now busy preparing for the recording which begins with drum recording at the Old Blacksmiths Studio commencing on the 19th January 2008. The intention is to have the recording ready for early-to-mid 2008, but as well all know these dates can slip. Rest assured we will be putting an awful lot of effort into making this CD something really special.

In other news, we have a few upcoming gigs already confirmed for 2008, asw well as our 30th December 2007 gig with Dragon Eye Morrison at the Wedgewood Rooms, Portsmouth. The full dates so far are:

30/12/07 - Wedgewood Rooms, Portsmouth
07/01/08 - Joiners Arms, Southampton
15/03/08 - Snooty Fox, Wakefield

Hopefully more gigs will be confirmed soon, but for now we are really concentrating on this recording.

Chris Joins Frosthold

Quick update from the Frosthold army - we played a gig the other night at The Wedgewood Rooms, photos are now up (click here, photos taken by www.speedofdark.co.uk). We have now returned to our bunker to continue finishing off the material for the Flames of Hatred album.

For those of you at the gig, you will have noticed an extra member, so at this stage we would like to introduce our new addition - Chris. Some of you may remember that Chris was actually the original guitarist for Frosthold until he had to leave to dedicate his time to his newborn child, but now he is back in the mighty ranks of Frosthold!

A little update for those of you wondering where the almighty Frosthold has been these past few weeks. Our last gig at the Wedgewood Rooms in May will be the last for a little while, as we are now really concentrating on writing and rehearsing our new material for recording the new E.P.. All I can tell you for now is that we will be recording five tracks at an unconfirmed location. We will also have a new surprise in store to be announced, but that will be kept under wraps for now! Black Eclipse in Wakefield

Derby all-day festival
