We love that we have an opportunity to capture so many of the things that inspire us. Over the past two weeks (or so) here is what's new and fabulous at Faire Frou Frou. There's a lot of the Damaris Spring 2013 collection in there because it just looks so amazing...the purple and the bright orange/pink are definite eye-candy! There's also the bright orange Marlies Dekkers Society bra that is stunning on every person who has tried it on. Of course we had to share some of our garden rose photos because our backyard is filled with blooms of every color right now!

Damaris - Spring 2013 Colorfest!

Damaris packs a punch with bright colors and spectacular designs in her SS2013 collection. Each group, named for a Greek god/goddess, is filled with customary over-the-top details that are customary for Damaris creations. A common thread seen in most groups is the use of fine silk tulle and beautiful French lace. Once again we see the return of the deep V-Plunge Bra, which has become a customer favorite (great for when you're wearing a low, plunging neckline!). Naturally we also see the return of the signature back cut-out panties as well as the cut-out back-tie panties. Almost every piece has a gold horseshoe clasp fastener. If you haven't had the pleasure of seeing in person or owning a Damaris design, you're missing out. It's a true luxury (handmade in a London atelier) that's sure to make you (and a lucky someone else) smile.

Monette Paris - SS2013

We are proud to introduce the latest and greatest in French intimate apparel: Monette. The designs featured here are from the debut collection for Spring 2013 which clearly look like pieces women will buy for themselves, and their lover will want to buy for them too! Probably the instant appeal of this label is due to the fact that the designer is Assya Hiridjee, the former designer for Princesse Tam-Tam and sister of the brand's founder. The name of the brand is the French nickname for the name Simone (we didn't know that!), and the designs are targeted toward the sophisticated and chic woman. Most of the debut collection is centered around silk, and Hiridjee indicates that “Monette is a new concept somewhere between lingerie and ready-to-wear."
We're very excited about what we're seeing here and hoping to get it in the hands of Faire Frou Frou customers very soon!

Straps, Bridles & Harnesses

It truly is so much fun being a part of a lingerie photo shoot, as was the case with these photos taken by the talented William Williams. Both he and model Holly Parker collaborated to create these striking images featuring lingerie picked up from Faire Frou Frou! What's always interesting is seeing how a given photographer selects lingerie from our shop and makes them come to life with distinct style and personality in their work. We were very impressed with what William did here!
Probably most of our lingerie fans recognize the Bordelle Tutu Waspie, which was perfectly paired with a Tamzin Lillywhite pony ear bridle. Other pieces from our boutique include the red Lascivious Helena bra/panty set, the Lascivious Tyra cropped (strappy) top, and the Marlies Dekkers 'Leading Strings' strappy thong.

Lingerie Pin-Up Story

How could we resist sharing such an adorable pin-up story! In what is reminiscent of a Chantal Thomass lingerie campaign, photographer Marc Philbert has created an editorial filled with retro-inspired sweetness with a touch of suggestive bad girl behavior (in true pin-up form).

We love that each image shares the lingerie/clothing credits...far too often we don't get enough information! We've identified some of our favorite brands such as Fifi Chachnil, Wolford, Chantal Thomass, Princesse Tam-Tam, Gerbe & Eres (plus many more).

Made by Niki - Peplums collection - Spring 2013

We just posted the new arrivals from Made by Niki on our website and have been chatting about it all week (if you follow us on Instagram, Pinterest or Facebook you may have already noticed). The Peplums collection for Spring 2013 is bright, cheerful, frilly and downright delightful. These pieces capture the essence of a beautiful Spring season and certainly are perfect representation of the word frou-frou! The colorway includes colors such as Barbie Pink and Canary Yellow, and includes new shapes such as the Shoulder Holster and the Bustle Panty. Of course we had to bring back the famous String Playsuit, this time in a dip-dyed two-tone pink. Just looking at these images makes us crave sweets...as it is, each item is like a delectable confection!

Belle Et BonBon is a stylish and indulgent lingerie brand from the UK. Beautiful lace, velvet trims, ruffles and bows come together in a tasteful and simple manner to create an elegant collection. We've kept our eye on this relatively new label and really enjoy how its evolved into something brilliant in just a couple of seasons. The new Spring 2013 designs are just our style, and we simply couldn't resist sharing two of our favorite images from the previous Winter collection. It appears that the brand is mainly available in shops in the UK (and various European retailers), but that likely won't be the case for long. We see worldwide potential for Belle Et BonBon, and can't wait to see what the next season has in store!

It's been far too long since we've featured Murmur on our blog, and now that the Spring 2013 Murmur collection is being released, we had to share! Murmur is a brand that designs outerwear that is lingerie-inspired...but one look at these images tells you that. The images above are from the latest collection called hellcat, which the designer wants to remind us means:

1. a. A woman regarded as bad-tempered and evil.
b. A woman who practices sorcery; a witch.
2. A person who torments others.

La Perla - Spring 2013 - The Leopard

Oh beautiful La Perla! Once again talented photographer Mary Rozzi captures the beautiful campaign pictures for the latest Spring/Summer 2013 catalog. The latest collection is inspired by the 19-Century novel "The Leopard" by Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa. Unfortunately we've never read it...but from the looks of it, the designs were inspired by Sicilian noblewomen and the splendor of the Baroque period. As is customary for La Perla, each piece has a timeless appeal and features bows, lace and delicate embroideries. The La Perla fan will no doubt be inspired by this collection...we know we are!

Frou Frou Tutu Pom Poms - the Perfect Valentine's Accessory!

It seems that every year we decorate for Valentine's Day at Faire Frou Frou customers inevitably want to purchase our store decorations...they want to take a little bit of the frou-frou experience home with them. This year we anticipated the demand by creating the most adorable decorations and making them readily available for purchase (both in-store and online customers!). We are so excited to present the Frou Frou Tutu Pom Pom! These little balls of cuteness are made of tulle (in pink, light pink, white and shocking pink) and fastened with a 4' strand of pale pink double-faced satin ribbon. As we've discovered, these little pom poms are great to hang in the window, hang from a ceiling light fixture, pin to the walls, accent a side table or a chair (as you would a pillow)...so many options for how to enjoy them!

Chantal Thomass - Spring/Summer 2013

Nothing makes us happier than discovering beautiful new photo campaigns from our favorite lingerie designers! One such brand that rarely disappoints is French lingerie icon Chantal Thomass. The Spring/Summer 2013 images are vibrant, playful and certainly have us pulling out our credit card to start buying each piece. One of our very favorite images that has been floating around the web these past few weeks is the bow bra & high-waist panty (shown in nude/black). We *will* make sure we personally own that set soon.
Some of you may recall that we mentioned that Chantal Thomass would be returning to Faire Frou Frou this past Spring 2012. Unfortunately there were once again trade issues that halted that from happening. We were so excited at the possibility, and this campaign renews our hope that we will will once more carry the brand at our boutique in 2013.

It's been a while since we shared our Life on Instagram over here on the blog! A lot of sparkly events had taken place with the holiday season, which meant any excuse for sequins, extra jewelry and pops of color. While looking around on Tumblr this afternoon we came across this editorial from Kaltblut Magazine, thanks to a post by lingerie designer Karolina Laskowska. As you can see, each picture features the prettiest lingerie which means there was no reason for us not to share! Each image shows one darling lingerie set after another, and the best part is, that they are brands we are familiar with and fans of. Each photo provides the designer credits, which include Karolina Laskowska (of course), Kiss Me Deadly, Discover Mademoiselle and Topshop.

After looking at these images you get the feeling that Olivia von Halle pajamas are the most fun PJs around! And they are! They are also incredibly luxurious, comfortable and oh-so-flattering. We have been coveting these luxury men's style pajamas for a while, and we are thrilled to share that they are finally available at Faire Frou Frou!

Olivia von Halle is a British luxury nightwear brand focusing on beautifully cut silk pajamas in stunning prints. You have the option of the chic slouchy PJ pant or the silky smooth shorts that pair with the over-sized men's shirt. ARI DEIN Puts the Luxury in Lingerie

We believe that when it comes to Fall/Winter fashion, it's the time of year when you invest in something luxurious. ELLE Russia & Bordelle Lingerie

It wasn't until we were downloading these pictures from ELLE Russia that we realized this was an editorial for diamond jewelry, and not lingerie! The reason being is that we immediately spotted a few items that we sell at Faire Frou Frou by Bordelle and Maison Close and certainly couldn't wait to share on the blog. The first image is one of the most striking pieces of lingerie we have seen in a while, which is the Angela Voyeur Dress by Bordelle...see it in its full glory here (shown with detachable sleeves). Of course there is the Bordelle Voyeur Suspender Belt which we also have, and the bow-tie set from Maison Close which has been a popular item for a few seasons. The rest of the lingerie is a selection of beautiful pieces from Agent Provocateur, a lace bra from La Perla and hosiery by Falke. Now, if you're interested in the diamonds, pretty much every major brand is represented here from Cartier to Van Cleef & Arpels, and they look like the "price upon request" type of jewels (our favorite kind!).

Our favorite way to capture the pretty little moments of the week is Instagram. Here's what inspired us this week. There were the new arrivals from Hanky Panky (those leopard boyshorts!), Chantelle (the Paris Paris nude bra with black lace) and Gold Hawk (the PJ shirt), and then playing in a re-order of fabulous pink frilly robes from Dottie's Delights! We even picked up a new line of greeting cards at our shop from Sugar Paper, which is one of our favorite little card shops in Los Angeles!

Of course there were loads and loads of other new arrivals at the shop this week, but we don't want to overload anyone with that (that's what our Facebook page is for lol!).

We also had a fabulous Trunk Show with the team from Claudette, and even brought in another new employee, the pin-up-worthy Coco Kailee!

We are excited to see what develops for the week ahead...

i-D Magazine & Lingerie Role Models

The Fall 2012 issue of i-D Magazine has been published with 16 different covers with fashion's "Role Models" Amber Valetta, Isabeli Fontana, Linda Evangelista, Natasha Poly, Stephanie Seymour, Guinevere van Seenus, Gisele Bundchen, Karen Elson, Kristen McMenamy, and Fan Bing Bing gracing the covers. Photographers Daniele Duella and Iango Henzi captured these beauties in black & white donning some sexy looks! There certainly are a lot of images to choose from, but we picked our favorites featuring lingerie. We actually have one of the panties at Faire Frou Frou shown in 3 pictures, which is the black lace Maison Close Palais Voltaire bikini (it's hard to tell what you're looking at though). Most of the gorgeous corsets are by Kunza Corsetorium! Anyhow, we are thrilled with this series of images, and are happy to share with you!

Dottie's Delights - Vintage-Inspired Lingerie

Finally! One of our favorite Fall 2012 collections has arrived at Faire Frou Frou: The Bricolage collection by Dottie's Delights. As you can see, the designs are vintage-inspired and incredibly fetching. Doesn't it look like something straight from the early years of Mad Men? There are a few items we've been coveting for ourselves...first and foremost there's the Short Sheer Pink Robe. It is the embodiment of the word darling and is a perfect cover-up for the coordinating bras & panties. Apparently we aren't the only ones in love with this piece; we just received our shipment of the robe this week and already it's on backorder! The other item we are swooning over is the Ribbon Lace Bra. If you look closely you see the tulle bow applique across the front, which is just the loveliest touch. Also, it has high cut of lace across the top which makes this an easy piece to show-off with most tops. The bra has a very subtle cone shape for a truly vintage touch. Even the matching Knickers are amazing in that they are made from a nylon/spandex combo that feels incredible against the skin (super silky soft!). Here's a little glimpse at our week according to Instagram. Ironically the biggest event of the week that we participated in, Fashion's Night Out, was not captured by our pictures! We celebrated FNO in Beverly Hills on Robertson Blvd. and then later at a private party at the Beverly Center...the good news is that time was spent shopping and enjoying other people's company rather than being glued to the iPhone, so perhaps the absence of photos is a success! Anyhow, here are a few pictures taken at Faire Frou Frou, and even one or two taken out & about (one at the new Dylan's Candy Bar in Los Angeles and one taken at home with the dogs Lola & Nicky).
