Free KIVA loan! Wow!

noreply@blogger.com (Frugal Happy Mama) — Wed, 03 Aug 2011 17:56:00 +0000

Here's one of the greatest freebies I've come across...ever!!

KIVA is a microcredit loan site that connects entrepreneurs in developing countries with people who can help them reach their goals by loaning a small amount of money that is paid back in small installments. This amazing system has proven successful around the world and is a proven and powerful way to empower people by helping them do what they know they can do to support themselves and their families.

Since learning about microcredit five years ago, I have been an active supporter of this incredible system and have even been able to visit small communites in other countries and meet women whose lives have literally been transformed through being a part of programs such as these.

KIVA is an awesome site because you can choose where in the world you want to put your money and you can choose the individual and project that you want to fund.

Right now, you can sign up and make a $25 loan for FREE!! Yes!! This costs you nothing and you can be a part of this amazing process and be inspired. Check it out!! There are a limited amount of free loans, so do not wait.

How often do you get a chance to change lives around the world....for free?

A big

HELLO

to all the Frugal Happy Mama followers out there!

I have to apologize for leaving you all hanging. Ug.
When I started this blog, I was so excited to share with all the other frugal mamas (and papas) out there all the amazing deals and ideas that I was enjoying. But as time went on, I realized that my desire to maintain this blog at the level that I intended was really stressing me out. Bummer. Saving money is fun!

My 1 1/2 year old, Little b, is where I spend most of my energy every day. Keeping the blog updated every day started taking my energy and time from her, which just didn't work. She's the coolest person I've ever met which helps me keep my priorites straight.

As you read this, a FHM revamp is in the works. New posts, new recipes, new giveaways, new simple pleasures, and (importantly!) new ways to save you money.

So stay tuned.....the Frugal Happy Mama is back.

Eat Pray Love DVD $5 at Target, plus $4 mail in rebate!!

noreply@blogger.com (Frugal Happy Mama) — Sun, 13 Feb 2011 01:04:00 +0000

This is a very cool deal that starts tomorrow at Target.

The movie Eat, Pray, Love (which is a really cool story and beautiful to watch!) will be on sale at Target for $9. There is a $4 coupon available HERE that you can use to bring the price at the register down to $5. Search under entertainment with no specified zipcode.

To get the additional $4 rebate you need to purchase 2 jars of Classico pasta sauce. These generally run about $2 a jar, so your savings here may not be substantial. But if you use pasta sauce, it could be worth it. Fill out the rebate form that is available here to get your rebate. Often these rebate forms are taken down before the promotion is actually over, so if you are interested go ahead and print it out.

UPDATE! 2/15/11
I just returned home from Target with my Eat Pray Love DVD....and there are coupons for Classico sauce in the box. Holla! Love it. Hope you find the same!
