This is a repaint of the original 747SP model by Mike Stone, featuring the livery of Air New Zealand's only 747SP, which was delivered in 1981 and retired in 1986.

The Boeing 747SP (Special Performance) was a shortened version of the 747-100, designed to fly longer distances and higher altitudes than its predecessor. It had a fuselage length of 184 feet (56 meters), compared to 231 feet (70 meters) for the 747-100, and a maximum takeoff weight of 670,000 pounds (304,000 kilograms), compared to 735,000 pounds (333,000 kilograms) for the 747-100. It also had a larger tail fin and a modified wing design with simplified flaps and spoilers.

The 747SP was first flown in 1975 and entered service in 1976 with Pan Am and Iran Air. Only 45 units were produced until 1989, as the demand for ultra-long-range flights was limited and the advent of more efficient twin-engine aircrafts such as the Boeing 767 and Airbus A310 reduced its appeal. The 747SP was mainly used by airlines from Asia, Africa and the Middle East, as well as by VIP customers such as governments and celebrities.

Air New Zealand acquired its only 747SP in 1981, as part of a deal with Boeing to exchange four older 747-200s for two new 747-200Bs and one 747SP. The airline intended to use the 747SP for non-stop flights from Auckland to Los Angeles, which was beyond the range of its existing fleet. The aircraft was registered as ZK-NZZ and named "City of Christchurch".

However, the 747SP proved to be too costly to operate for Air New Zealand, as it had a higher fuel consumption and maintenance cost than the standard 747-200. The airline also faced competition from Qantas and United Airlines, which offered more frequent flights to Los Angeles with stopovers in Honolulu or Fiji. As a result, Air New Zealand decided to retire its 747SP in 1986, after only five years of service. The aircraft was sold to Luxair, a charter company based in Luxembourg, and later to other operators such as Tajik Air and Las Vegas Sands.

The FS2004 Boeing 747SP Air New Zealand ZK-NZZ add-on is a faithful recreation of this historic aircraft, with accurate details such as the distinctive "Pacific Wave" livery, the four Pratt & Whitney JT9D-7A engines, and the cockpit layout. The add-on also features realistic flight dynamics, sound effects and animations. You can download it for free from various flight simulation websites and enjoy flying this rare bird in FS2004.

FS2004 PoSky House Colors JT9D BOEING 747-300

                                   Download

The PoSky House Colors JT9D BOEING 747-300 is a freeware model created by Project Open Sky (PoSky), a group of talented designers and programmers who have been making high-quality aircraft for FS2004 and FSX since 2002. The model is based on the Boeing 747-300, a variant of the iconic jumbo jet that was introduced in 1983 and featured a stretched upper deck and improved engines.

The PoSky House Colors JT9D BOEING 747-300 comes in two liveries: the Boeing house colors (white with blue and red stripes) and the Boeing roll-out colors (yellow with black stripes). Both liveries are very detailed and realistic, with accurate logos, markings, and reflections. The model also features dynamic shine, animated control surfaces, wing views, realistic landing gear, opening doors and cargo bays, and more.

One of the most impressive features of the PoSky House Colors JT9D BOEING 747-300 is the sound package. The model uses the Pratt & Whitney JT9D engine sounds, which are very authentic and powerful. You can hear the roar of the engines as they spool up and down, the whine of the turbines, the rumble of the exhaust, and the clunk of the reversers. The sound package also includes cockpit sounds, such as switches, alarms, warnings, and announcements.

The PoSky House Colors JT9D BOEING 747-300 is a joy to fly in FS2004. The flight dynamics are very realistic and smooth, with accurate performance and handling. The model has a fully functional virtual cockpit (VC), with working gauges, instruments, radios, autopilot, and more. The VC is very immersive and detailed, with realistic textures, lighting, shadows, and reflections. You can also switch to different views in the VC, such as the captain's seat, the first officer's seat, the overhead panel, the pedestal, and the jump seat. The PoSky House Colors JT9D BOEING 747-300 is one of the best freeware models for FS2004 .

Flight Deck 6: FS 2004/FSX

The best-selling Flight Simulator Expansion Pack in the World!Flight Deck one of the world s best sellers has been TOTALLY revised and is now Flight Deck 6.

Night flying in Microsoft Flight Simulator X (FSX) is an atmospheric challenge, but visibility can be unforgiving. Whether you are flying search and rescue missions in a helicopter or navigating dark mountain passes in a bush plane, a Night Vision Goggle (NVG) Mod can turn the dark into a clear, tactical display.

Here is how you can bring high-tech night vision to your simulator.

1. The Universal Solution: ReShade

The most effective way to get night vision in FSX is through ReShade. This is a post-processing injector that applies visual effects to your simulator's output. It works on every aircraft in your hangar, not just military ones.

Why use it? It adds realistic color grading, grain, and the classic "phosphor green" glow characteristic of real-world NVGs.

How to Install:

Download the latest version of ReShade from <response-element class="" ng-version="0.0.0-PLACEHOLDER"><link-block _nghost-ng-c2899204656="" class="ng-star-inserted">reshade.me</link-block></response-element>.

Run the installer and point it to your
fsx.exe
file (usually located in your FSX root folder).

Select the DirectX 9 or 10 API (depending on your FSX graphical settings).

Choose the "Standard Effects" or "SweetFX" shader packages.

Once in the game, press the
Home
key to open the ReShade menu. Enable the
ColorMatrix
or
NightVision
shader.

Adjust the green tint and grain sliders to match your preferred level of visibility.

2. Aircraft-Specific NVG Gauges

If you prefer an "in-cockpit" experience, some developers include built-in NVG overlays. These are mostly found in payware or high-end freeware military aircraft (e.g., F-16, F-18, or specialized helicopters).

How it works: These mods utilize a custom XML gauge. When you toggle the switch (usually mapped to a custom key like
Shift + N
), the mod creates a green overlay across your entire view.

Where to find them: Check forums like Simviation or Fly Away Simulation for "FSX NVG Gauge."

Note: Installing these requires basic editing of the
panel.cfg
file inside the aircraft’s folder. Always back up your file before editing!

3. Pro-Tips for Night Vision Immersion

Balance the Light: If you use an NVG mod, turn down your cockpit panel lighting. Bright white cabin lights will "wash out" your night vision effect, making it look unnatural.

Preserve Your "Night Eyes": Just like real-world pilots, use red-filtered lighting for your instruments to keep the NVG effect clean and sharp.

Monitor Performance: Shaders like ReShade have a tiny performance impact. If your frame rate drops, reduce the "Grain" setting in the shader configuration.

🏁 Final Thoughts

Installing a night vision mod doesn't just improve visibility—it opens up a new world of flight sim challenges. From night-time landing practice on unlit runways to tactical reconnaissance missions, these mods bring a new layer of professional immersion to FSX.

Are you ready to take to the dark skies? Let me know which aircraft you are planning to equip with NVGs!

This package was developed by Mins, using a JYAI AH-1F Cobra model adapted for him from the JGSDF “S” model. He has painted 20 aircraft and developed scenery and a flight plan to operate them from. The scenery has the fictitious name RKH1, but the layout is broadly similar to the airfield seen at the sim location in the satellite image in Google Maps.

paX is a passenger simulation/emulation module for FSX only. At this time, it simulates passengers boarding your airliner before departure, including an accurate simulation of passenger delays and obstacles during the boarding process (like aisles blocked by passengers taking too long to get seated).

Download

There is no plane more recognizable on the planet than Air Force One. While the current fleet consists of modified 747-200s, the upcoming VC-25B transition to the Boeing 747-8i has captured the imagination of flight simmers everywhere.

If you want to bring the "Flying White House" into your simulator, here is how to get the best experience in FSX and P3D.

🌟 Why the 747-8i?

The 747-8i is the "Queen of the Skies" perfected. With its extended fuselage, redesigned wings, and GEnx-2B67 engines, it handles differently than the classic 747-400. In the simulator, the 747-8i offers:

Improved Range & Efficiency: Perfect for long-haul presidential missions across the Atlantic or Pacific.

Modernized Avionics: If you use a high-fidelity panel, you’ll enjoy the updated flight management systems.

The "Look": The iconic baby blue and white livery looks stunning on the stretched 747-8i airframe.

🛠 Where to Find Your "Air Force One" Package

Finding a quality 747-8i can be tricky, as many are simple "repaints" of the default 747. For a professional experience, look for these versions:

The "Project Opensky" (POSKY) / SkySpirit 747-8i: * Verdict: The gold standard for freeware. It features fully animated control surfaces, gear suspension, and detailed wing-flex.

Where to find: Search on Simviation or Fly Away Simulation for "SkySpirit 747-8i Air Force One."

The PMDG 747-8i Expansion (For P3D Users):

Verdict: If you are a serious simmer using P3D, the PMDG 747-8i expansion is the ultimate choice. It simulates every circuit breaker and flight system accurately.

Where to find: Available directly via the PMDG Store.

👨‍🍳 Pro-Tips for Your "Presidential" Flight

Callsign Magic: Don't forget to set your ATC callsign to "AIR FORCE ONE" in your aircraft config file or flight plan settings. Hearing the ATC address you as "Air Force One" makes all the difference!

Escort Missions: If you have an AI Traffic add-on, try to fly your departure/arrival near a military airfield to simulate your "escort fighters."

The "Step Climb": The 747-8i is heavy. Practice your step-climbs to reach your optimal cruise altitude of FL350-FL390; it’s a vital skill for flying this beast safely.

💡 Final Thoughts

Whether you are flying from Andrews Air Force Base (KADW) to a summit in Europe or just cruising over the Pacific, the 747-8i Air Force One is the ultimate symbol of flight simulation prestige. It’s heavy, it’s powerful, and it’s a challenge to master.

Do you prefer the classic 747-400 or the new 747-8i? Let me know in the comments which one feels better to fly!

A version with only a 2D panel that is the one of the real Boeing 787 created by G Munro or another version with virtual cockpit / 2D panel which is the default version of the B737 of FSX but improved and adapted to the Boeing 787 (new textures, new gauges etc) It's up to you, make your choice. Both versions are superb. Note that there is not yet a 3D modeling of 787 virtual cockpits in the freeware version.

Includes with all versions: working FMC, GPWS, new GPS 787, ground animations, custom sounds based on RR or GEnx type engines, Pushback, V-Speed and more.

Download

This is one of a series of AI aircraft packs that we at XPFW made from our fleet of airliners. These AI aircraft are designed to give as little FPS loss as possible while at the same time look and perform realistically. They only work in v10!

Screenshot of B738 on the ground.

When using "normal" aircraft as AI, this will on most systems result in a SIGNIFICANT framerate drop! In many cases the sim gets useless if you have more than a couple/few AI aircraft.

So I started to play around a bit with these aircraft. Also got a few hints from Austin how their flight logic is.
- First I removed the obvious, panels, sounds, instruments, since we of course don't need those.
- Second, I started removing and replacing textures. Compressing some, deleting others.
- Third I started removing excess 3D. Little details we can live without since we most of the time will observe these aircraft from some distance.
- Forth, and maybe most important, I started optimizing the flightmodel. There is tons of stuff that can be done to reduce the number of flightmodel calculations X-Plane does. Basically I'm simplifying it.
- Fifth, The "AI-pilot" does some stupid things and doesn't fly by the book. It looks for certain parameters in the file and draws conclusions from that how to fly. So by altering certain parameters one can make the aircraft behave more realistic on taxi, takeoff, approach and landing.

You should see a SIGNIFICANT performance increase and most of you should be able to fly with at least 10 of these. File contains these different livery's:

- AeroMexico
- Air Berlin
- Alaska
- American
- Delta
- Jet Airways
- Korean Air
- Ryanair
- SAS Scandinavian
