The pros to this concealer are:

• Very creamy, easy to apply formula
• Decent coverage on blemishes
• 8 skin tone colors to choose from

The cons are:

• ZERO staying power for the under-eye area

That’s it. But that’s enough for me, because I mainly use my concealers for the under-eye area. What I noticed is that after about an hour of wear, the concealer starts to collect in little line right under my lower lash line. Very attractive! I probably get three hours, tops, of wear from this product, all the while having to wipe away those gross lines of concealer, until nothing is left except my naturally luminous purple circles.

I do have to give Tarte props for the creative name, though. Nothing like a little Sade, amiright?

Sometimes a trend seems to appear, suddenly, out of nowhere, yet everywhere you look, there it is. Clothing companies, houseware manufacturers, jewelry designers–they have a mind meld and begin producing items that follow the same theme. Such is the case with the fox trend. It’s everywhere! Personally, I give credit to Ylvis for their terribly bizarre, terribly catch song:

Regardless of who is responsible for this trend, we love the fun depictions of foxes we’re seeing. Here are some of our favorite picks:

Gorjana Fox Stud Earrings – $38

These simple, stylized earrings are 18k gold plated–not a bad deal. Great for casual, everyday wear.

kushkush Mr. Fox Enamel Pin – $12

This might be my favorite find out of the bunch. Not surprisingly, it’s from Etsy, home of many treasures. This darling enamel pin would be perfect pinned to the label of a white or black winter coat.

Forever 21 Ditsy Fox Sweater – $19.80

The first time I saw the fox trend was on the Old Navy sweater (two versions) that many bloggers had snapped up and were photographing themselves in. That sweater is long gone (at least online), but there are other options, like this one from Forever 21.

ModCloth Girl Fox Tee – $29.99

Bright, fanciful, and laid-back–this top can be worn a variety of ways. Wear by itself with casual jeans, pair with a tank top if the cut is too low for you, knot a scarf around your neck to keep out the chill, throw on a cardigan during colder temps.

Pigeons Mr. Foxx Luxx Bag – $82.81

Another great find from Etsy. The print on this bag reminds me of old hunting lodge wallpaper. It’s so kitschy and fun.

LennyMud Fox Mug – $14; stampcouture Woodland Fox Rubber Stamp – $10

It’s so refreshing to see a mug that isn’t white–I just love that bright orange. It will make your winter mornings less dreary. Another fun find is the stamp at right. I use stamps on the back of envelopes when I write letters. I center it over the sealed flap–it makes a nice surprise for the person opening the letter.

Tinley Road Park City Fur Trim Coat – $68.50 ($89)

Only 10% wool, and 90% polyester, so you’ll definitely need to layer under this pretty lady. But talk about shape! That belt will cinch it in right where you need it to show off your figure. And that faux fur collar, très chic!

Sabine Quilted Vegan Leather Bomber Jacket – $103.50 ($149)

A conscience friendly bomber, and we like the fact that it has elastic at the waist and wrists. Again, you’ll need a layer or two under it, but that will just make your outfit look that much more fab. Not into quilting? Check out this lace bomber.

Tulle Slim Fitted Raglan Coat – $52.50 ($89)

From afar this coat is going to look grey, even though the fabric is a black and white weave. The slim fit keeps the lines straight and, well, slimming.

French Connection Mixed Media Down Puffer – $195.50 ($245)

A different take on the puffer. FC streamlined the look by taking the “puff” out of the sides. The sleeves and front core have that feather fill that should keep you nice and toasty.

Hive & Honey Metallic Tweed Hoodie – $44.50 ($79)

Kinda funky, but pretty high fashion for a hoody. It has that throw-back 90’s vibe that seems to be so popular this season.

Tulle Contrast Binding Coat – $62.50 ($79)

Very lady like. That start contrast piping sets this coat apart, and lends it a dressier vibe.

A multi-use highlighter pencil, you can use this pencil to highlight any contour on your face, use it to conceal, or as a primer for shadow. Quite the multitasker! Received a full sized product.

A pretty pinky-peach polish that should be universally flattering. Butter London is known for quality. Received a full sized product.

Karin Herzog Vitamin H Face Cream – $75

The card that came with my mystery box said this should be Karin Herzog Vita-A-Kombi 1, but I was sent the Vitamin H Face Cream. I’m not complaining, this stuff is really nice, but really pricey. Received a sample sized product.

Mirabella Mineral Highlighting Powder in Shimmer Rose – $38

The color in the picture above is translating darker than the actual product. A shimmering mineral highlighter, perfect for creating “glowing” skin. It uses a “Prismatech” formula (who made up that word?) that combines “all of the benefits of baked, cream and liquid makeup with dazzling color and an innovative texture to allow for a smooth application and brilliant blendability.” Received full sized product.

myface.cosmetics Lip Pop Gloss in Naughty Girl – $18

This lightweight, non sticky gloss adds iridescence and sparkle. No smell or taste to speak of. Received full sized product.

Theraplex FT Exfoliating Emollient – $15

After a long summer of sandals, all our feet can probably use some deep moisture. This product can also be used on hands and elbows during the winter months. Received a full size product.

Talika Lipocils Expert – $57

A lash enhancer that helps growth, darkens, and adds curl. Since I’m currently testing SmartLash, I’ve tapped our friend Amber to give this product a go and see what she thinks. We’ll check in with her after 4-6 weeks. Received a sample size product.

Miracle Skin Transformer Face SPF 20 – $48

Primer, tinted moisturizer, sun-protector, and mattifier, Miracle Skin Transformer for face is similar to a BB or CC cream. If you suffer from dry skin during the winter months though, you might want to skip it. It’s made my skin feel a bit too dry in the past. You might have better luck with Miracle Skin Transformer Body. But this product is really well reviewed, so do take my advice with a grain of salt.

Not bad for 25 bucks, right? Stay tuned in the weeks to come for reviews on most of these products!

Kimono Cuff Cherry Blossom – $36 ($60)

There are a lot of cherry blossom-design items out there but this one is a little different take. Neutral colors on fabric, wrapped around a metal cuff. This would look so slick with an all-black ensemble.

Teagan Necklace – $59 ($98)

This chunky statement necklace in earth tones is an easy way to spice up an outfit. It would look great over a little black dress or with an Oxford shirt.

Cumulus Earrings Vermeil – $95 ($160)

If you prefer more delicate jewelry, these light 18k gold earrings are great for everyday wear.

Asymmetric Stackable Rings – $66 ($110)

Aren’t these rings kind of rockstar? This product comes with four rings, plated in gold, rose gold and rhodium with cubic zirconia sparkle. Arrange in a variety of ways on your finger.

Storm Pendant – $55 ($80)

This beautiful pendant is made from “rutilated quartz stone with milky white and black needle-like inclusions.” It does sort of look like the Wizard of Oz scene when Dorothy and the house are flying through the air during the tornado, right?

PB&J BFF Necklaces – $18 ($30)

Yes, this is kind of silly but I had to include it. Fab has the most whimsical products. This listing is for a set of two necklaces, one a piece of bread with peanut butter, the other a piece of bread with jelly. You’re supposed to wear one and give the other to a friend but I like the idea of wearing them together. This designer does other fun combos like mac and cheese, salt and pepper.

YES! Of course. Why didn’t I think of that? Wearing black eyeliner on my bottom eyelids instantly makes me look sleep deprived. I have really small eyes anyway, so closing them up with a big black outline is not flattering. Here I tried out Ms. Dehn’s tip:

I used Rimmel Exaggerate Waterproof Eye Definer in Noir for the top lid of both eyes. I used the same liner on my left lower lid, but on the right lower lid, I used Laura Mercier Kohl Eye Pencil in Brown Copper. Yes, the left eye looks more dramatic, but you can see how it closes that eye right up. My right eye looks bigger because the brown doesn’t create such a firm outline.
