Background
 
The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) is mandated by the Marine
Mammal Protection Act to monitor the level and nature of interactions
between commercial fisheries and marine mammal stocks. Monitoring will begin

   I am writing to ask if you will help post the attached  announcement  for the Humpbacks Whale Field Intensive "Shorty" program  in Puerto Rico. Funding for marine mammal research is scarce (as you  know!). This program is how I fund time on the water for my dissertation  project.

Program Description

The IMMS Research Internship Program is designed as a way for students interested in a career in marine mammal science to gain valuable research experience in a real-world setting. Whale numbers increase1:45

The population of North Atlantic right whales in the Bay of Fundy is continuing to improve as a series of measures seems to be protecting the species, according to a marine biologist.

I am seeking enthusiastic research assistants to help a PhD thesis on a behavioural study of dolphins in the Istanbul Strait. The project aims to determine the critical habitats and investigate the interactions between cetaceans and marine traffic.
